Review 1：The room was filthy and extremely dated. Peeling paint, geriatric furniture, nasty, disgusting bathroom. Repulsive bedding, filthy carpet, gross fridge. I didn't want to touch anything in the room. Be warned, if you book through booking.com, even if it's an hour before you check in, even if the room is absolutely disgusting, you will be charged the full amount of the room if you opt not to stay. Also, the lowest rating you can give is a 2.5, so a review of 3.8 stars is still most likely a scummy, roach infested hotel. Don't make the mistake I made, do your research thoroughly!

Review 3：We never got the room or bed type we wanted! The desk clerk figured he gave us a deal by giving us a 2 queen bed room. Hotel is in poor shape & is dirty! !

Review 7：It was very noisy being surrounded on all sides with 3 major freeways.The place was very old and run down. Lots of patch jobs. It just did notseem very "clean". The "hot" breakfast had onewaffle maker which needed cleaning very badly. No oj and I heard someoneelse saying the coffee was cold.

Review 9：The Room Smelled Of Urine (the staff tried to say it was from the refrigerator where it had defrosted and leaked on the carpet, but I know the difference between Urine and mildew smell!) The bathroom was covered with mold on the ceiling.

Review 11：I had a blow out on way to hotel tried to cancel they charged me anyway, so I went ahead and went just to get put in room that wasn't clean, bathroom plug in did not work, holes in shower walls, hot water wasn't working right, refrigerator was froze over, and there were still ashes in ash try.

Review 16：local calls are free, but if they had a provision for making long-distance calls, i couldn't figure it out. i am pretty hard of hearing, so i could never hear the phone ring, but once i was on the phone, the voice volume was OK (there is a volume control on the phone). i had a little trouble getting the key card to work sometimes, but i suspect the weather might have been causing that. clearing the ice off the steps up to the second floor was a hit-or-miss proposition, but, then again, there was a lot of ice (1/2" to 3/4" in some places). the only things i would suggest that they add to the rooms are a TV channel guide, a local restaurant list (with addresses and phone numbers), and a guide to all of the features of the motel and how they work (the phone in particular). and maybe a phone book with both yellow and white pages.
Review 17：i was driving from nashville, TN, to little rock, AR, so memphis was a good stopping place for an overnight. since i was going west, i wanted to find lodging on the west side of memphis, TN, so i wouldn't have to cope with memphis traffic in the morning.the express inn is a basic no-frills two-story motel, but i felt safe, and the people who work there are outstanding. i had a room with two double beds, a microwave, a small refrigerator, a coffee maker, and a large flat-screen TV.the heating worked great and the hot water was plentiful, which was good, because i chose the worst week in the entire year to travel -- snow, sleet, icy roads, temperatures down to 0° for several days in a row. in fact, i got stuck in west memphis for a few extra days because the roads, even the interstates, were impassable.there are several quickie restaurants nearby -- mcDonald's, KFC, petro truck stop place -- but because of the weather and driving conditions, i didn't look any further than those. although i didn't see anything else that particularly struck me, the desk staff told me that there were several nicer restaurants (applebee's, for example) another exit or two down the road. and by the way, in case you've ever wondered, it IS possible to live on chicken mcNuggets for three days if necessary!they have a continental breakfast, but i was never up in time to check it out. they advertise free wi-fi too, but i don't have a laptop, so i didn't try to check that out, either. the write-up on booking.com says that they also have coin-operated washers and dryers. parking is free.i fell on the ice in the parking lot four times while i was there (but i don't blame the motel people for not being able to get the whole parking lot cleared, because this really was extraordinarily terrible weather), which is when i really began to appreciate the staff.
Review 18：If all you require is a place to sleep for a night, and you are a very sound sleeper, this place works. Although newly renovated it still had some major dust issues in the room. The bed spreads were stained. The refrigerator didn't work, the maintenance man had to replace ours with his own fridge which did work, but wasn't cleaned. We reserved a king room but got a double queen room instead. Very disappointing overall.

Review 53：The floors were not vacuumed. There was what looked like dried seman on one of the blankets. We went out to buy our own pillow and blanket to sleep in. Toilet seats were peeling and worn out. TV dresser drawer was broken. We also bought Lysol to disinfect everything after finding the dried seman on the blanket. The roads need fixing.
