Reviews for Alaskan Hotel and Bar
Review 1:The guy at check in couldnt figure out the system so a different employee who was off duty and had been drinking all day had to help. He was cursing the whole time.
Review 2:It was a great location and if you like the party scene it is a good place. There was live music playing in the bar which was a nice treat but lots of drunks.
Review 3:The room was awful - small, pokey on 1st floor overlooking street, and dubious cleanliness and was not what I booked. Woken up by garbage men early in morning, and pillows (2) looked like they had no stuffing. Moved to a better room next day immediately on request - but if they were full this would have not happened and I would have found somewhere else to stay. Stove, microwave but no cooking or eating utensils, not even a glass or cup.
Review 4:Staff were helpful and friendly, extended 1 day no problem, at discounted rate and moved me to a much better room at request. Rooms were Ok - pretty much as expected. No views from hotel. but location was central for access to restaurants and travel activities. Unexpectedly good jazz on Saturday night in bar.
Review 5:The loud conversation of the men in the next room woke me up at 3 am. I could hear every word spoken by one of them. The second man muttered indistinctly but, clearly, he was provoking the first man. Their "conversation" kept me awake for over an hour.
Review 6:We love the quirkiness of the hotel, that it hasn't given up its pioneer character, and the soft beds
Review 7:The noise from the street and bar were terrible. This was until 3 am too. The staff/men at the reception could of been happier and taken more care in their appearance.
Review 8:This is a historical building so it was ok for the price. We arrived off the ferry at 5 am and was pleased that we could leave our luggage until checkin which was much earlier than the time given on the site. The woman that checked us in was very helpful and actually carried my suitcase up the stairs for me. I like the ambience of older buildings and this hotel had heaps.
Review 9:Sticky duct tape replacing one of the TV remote's battery covers.
Review 10:Coziness and atmosphere of genuine old hotel. Also very big fan of the great price!
Review 11:The bathroom was not in the room or the shower.
Review 12:The location of the hotel was excellent The history of the hotel being 100 years old adds character to my stay.
Review 13:No elevator. Hotel smelled. Tiny rooms, paper thin walls. Listening to drunk people yelling at 5 am.
Review 14:Location in downtown juneau made exploring the town easy.
Review 15:The next time, just an overnight thank goodness, was double room with shared facilities. The room was very comfortable but the NOISE from people on the street and in the pub across the road went on to the wee hours. Both rooms were too hot
Review 16:We stayed twice - first time was on top floor with kitchenette. This was great and well away from the road.
Review 17:We had a kitchenette room and things in the kitchen were broken/missing and utensils/hardware were so sparse that it was difficult to make any kind of meaningful meal there and to clean it up following.
Review 18:The room staff was very good, quickly giving us a pile of extra towels and setting up a roll away bed for our young daughter.
Review 19:lots and lots of stairs.... but gave me a chance to walk off that huge burrito from a couple doors down.
Review 20:staff was amazing, rooms gave you that home feel. Great place!
Review 21:Horrible mattresses, everything is mickey-moused together in the rooms. Quite a dive. Asked for an extra blanket on arrival & never got it
Review 22:Location is great-middle of downtown. The maids do a pretty fair job No staff support if you need anything The bar is a GREAT place
Review 23:We chose this hotel because of its central location and also for what we thought was its proximity to the local ferry terminal. Fellow travellers please note, the ferry terminal has been relocated and it is now about 18 miles from town, around US$40 cab fare one way. The hotel is Heritage Listed but that is no excuse for shonky workmanship and doubt it would meet any sort of safety standards! Rooms with ensuites are located on the top floor. The other floors have shared bathroom facilities. We booked a "suite". It is 60 steps to the top floor, travellers with mobility issues should take note. There is no lift. The location is excellent but this is the only positive I can write. Another reviewer made mention of drugs....we experienced the same culture with some staff. One reception staff member was "drugged" and his friend slumped in a chair in reception was either drunk/drugged or both. We requested a taxi be booked to take us to the airport for the following morning. My husband returned to reception 30 minutes later to check, the staff member had no recollection of even speaking to my husband let alone booked a taxi! The room was reasonably clean....although I wouldn't walk bare foot on the carpet or tiles! The room was serviced each day. Enroute to our room it was necessary to step over staff sitting on the steps eating food, there was no where else for them to sit it appears. There are drug issues with this hotel and the local taxi drivers regale amazing tales! We bumped into some weird people roaming around on the top floor. There is an apartment above the rooms on the top floor which generated noise in the early hours, people coming and going. Wifi didn't work in the room, nor in the passage way. Sounds that could only be described as gun shots were heard on our last night. Don't stay here.
Review 24:Location
Review 25:The lady at the desk when we checked out at 5:30am was very helpful; as one of our tote bags was left on the chair in the lobby. We didn't know this until almost a third of the way to the ferry and she called us. She was a life saver!!! Many thanks and kudos.
Review 26:It was regrettable that there was no smiling face of the people of a receptionist. It is work in a traditional building. I think that I want a visitor's correspondence to consider No. 1.
Review 27:I have been moved deeply in the traditional building.
Review 28:- very unfriendly man at our check-in, not helpfull at all! - no door for the bathroom - far too loud live music till 3 am on friday and saturday - no aircon in the room - we could not open the windows
Review 29:- beautiful old house - good location in the center of downtown - very friendly man on the other day, we could cancel 3 more booked days without any fees
Review 30:I read the reviews that it was loud...but I didn't expect it to be THAT loud. Make sure you request a room that is not facing the entrance. There isn't any air conditioning so you leave your windows open...and at night the music is blaring from the bar.
Review 31:It was ok for the price.
Review 32:No wifi, no parking (though street parking is possible UP behind the hotel - you'll need good mobility), nothing in the kitchen by way of utensils.
Review 33:Hotel has character - old building. Room was a good size, bedding and towels were good too.
Review 34:The staff didn't care of the guests such as organizing a shared cab ride to the airport. Interesting things happen in the third floor, when "do-not-disturb" signs of some rooms turn green.
Review 35:Value for money and the location in downtown juneau are big pros for this hotel.
Review 36:Although it was good being downtown it did come with the noise and drunks associated with the area and staying in a hotel. Closing the window kept the noise out quite well.
Review 37:Juneau is extremely expensive so if you're on a budget this hotel is great. Clean and comfortable, i didn't mind the shared rest room and shower but my husband did. Its position in downtown was a bonus because we didn't have a car.
Review 38:Noise from the bar downstairs.
Review 39:The hotel can be noisy, especially during the weekend as rooms are above the bar. Our room faved the back of the hotel and we were still awaken by noise at 2am. However, this is still the best value in town and the location is very central.
Review 40:Remember this building is very old so there are going to be some issues with noise and plumbing. Our shower wasn't draining but the front desk took care of it and it wasn't an issue after that.
Review 41:Location was great-in the heart of downtown Juneau. The historic beauty and quaintness of the building is very appealing to history lovers.
Review 42:4 burner stove but only one knob worked. The Others had to be manually pushed in and turned. Limited dishes available.
Review 43:Central location. Oldest hotel in Alaska.
Review 44:When checking in we were treated very rudely by the manager who pretty much yelled at us because booking.com is losing them money and messing things up. He said our reservation was not confirmed and there wasn't a room. He was rude the whole time. Complaining in front of us about everything. We were placed in an almost comparable room to what we had paid for the first night. We had an early departure the next day for an adventure. Had to pack all of our stuff and bring downstairs since they would have to move us-although weren't sure where. A serious inconvenience at 530 in the morning on vacation. When we returned that evening we stood at front desk for at least 20 minutes waiting for someone to appear. The girl came but didn't greet us for a while. Placed us in our separate rooms since they couldn't accommodate our twin beds reservation. The upstairs room smelled and even though nonsmoking facility the entire 3rd floor reeked of current smoking. The new rooms didn't have restrooms in them. Communal bathroom down the hall-which is ok if that's what you paid for and expected. On check out the front desk lady had no idea what was going on and was trying to overcharge us-the manager said was putting us in two rooms since wasn't able to accommodate our confirmed reservation but would only charge for one. Had not communicated that to rest of staff. I paid one night and my friend the second. I currently have two additional nights pending on my card that I have contacted the hotel about. A hassle for what was supposed to be a great vacation. Unfortunately there's not a lot of other options at a reasonable rate
Review 45:Location downtown
Review 46:What could be a nice step back into a hotel from a bygone era was let down by reception staff (apart from one lad on midnight shift) It seemed we were an inconvenience from check-in to check out.
Review 47:Location was centre of the town and easy access to the rest of Juneau area. Nice old hotel atmosphere in aesthetics. Good wifi connection.
Review 48:Had a slight "old smell" but only because it's authentic! Went away no problem with the windows open.
Review 49:The price beats pretty much anything in the area besides a hostel, the antique building is beautiful, and the location is perfect! They even let us keep our hiking backpacks locked in a closet hours before our official check in time so we wouldn't have to lug them around all day.
Review 50:Thin walls. Lots of noise around; difficult to sleep some nights.
Review 51:Very convenient to downtown. It is old with an interesting history. Very inexpensive for Juneau.
Review 52:Every night about 1:00 AM we were awakened by loud talking out side our room. Very loud talking by very inconsiderate people. Just lasted a few minutes but it was unsettling. The absence of an elevator was a minus with our luggage but it was an historic building.
Review 53:A staff member Lou was a real plus couldn't do enough to help us. Provided us with maps of the city and advice on restaurants and discussed the bus and taxi's with us. Had question about operating the TV and he came up to our room and showed us. The location, right smack dab in the middle of downtown!
Review 54:Bit of a bar atmosphere at the entrance and walking up to the room. Creaky (loud!) bathroom door
Review 55:Had a good room on the top floor, which meant quieter I think, away from the bar and noise area. Nice comfortable bed.
Review 56:The staff members are good at making reservations and calling a cab, but it's a pretty loose organization. I overheard profanity from one and they often seem to be somewhere else besides the front desk.
Review 57:The downtown location is convenient to everything. The authentic historic feel gives it a lot of atmosphere.
Review 58:There was no elevator, so carrying luggage up two large sets of stairs was not fun. The lock on the window in our room was broken which made us feel unsafe. The rooms and facilities feel old and a bit unclean. They could do with some updating.
Review 59:The staff were generally friendly and the inside of the building was beautiful! It was also a great location, right in the midst of downtown!
Review 60:Staff are sour and act as though they could not care less about you Hotel is above very loud, late bar
Review 61:Good location for downtown. Bed is comfortable. We stayed in a 'suite' with bathroom which was clean. Has wifi but you have to ask for it.
Review 62:-noisy on friday and saturday nights since the hotel also has a bar next door -no elevator -no late check-out -staff not too knowledgable about things to do in the city -no hair dryer
Review 63:-great location in the heart of downtown -within quick walking distance to all the restaurants, shops, harbor, local landmarks, and tour group meeting spots -24hr front desk (although there were a few times in the day that no one was there) -staff will kindly call a taxi for you to the airport (must still pay taxi fare) -comfy beds and clean private bathrooms (not sure about the shared bathrooms since I didn't use them)
Review 64:The hotel is over a bar and at night you can hear the band and the occasional bar fight. The hotel is old, built in 1913, it could be really neat with some renovations.
Review 65:Location is excellent, walking distance to all of downtown and the docks.
Review 66:I had a kichenette, but nothing to eat on or with, nothing to even boil water in. It has an old style but "neglectfully" done. It has no ventilation (it is an oldest Alaskan hotel), really old building in bad condition. Anyway, it is the cheapest hotel in Alaska and this is enough, at least for me
Review 67:the place - the very centre of Juneau, ancient style, hot water, low price
Review 68:Staff not reliable - they did not provide the room 2 floors up that they said they would (we were put over the bar instead) and they did not give us the wake-up call we requested for the morning
Review 69:Hotel Staff very kind, very helpful. Hotel room was great with no issues whatsoever. Very peaceful stay. We really enjoyed the historic feel of hotel and of course, great beer at bar. Bargain price. Would definitely stay here again on next trip to Juneau
Review 70:There was no air conditioning on this unusually warm day and no air circulation even if we opened the window. There was scaffolding right outside our window and no screens. So if we opened up the window, it was open to the dirt and workers that were outside our window.
Review 71:Loved the location-in the center of everything. And loved the atmosphere of this historic hotel.
Review 72:Not for someone who needs private bath and lots of space but I found it clean, comfortable, economical, and convenient. This is what travel used to be like.
Review 73:Convenient location Historic building Bed comfortable Clean Economical
Review 74:Lack of shuttle to and from airport or ferry. No elevator in this quaint old hotel.
Review 75:The location and price were good. Having a small refrigerator was nice but kitchenette was not equipped with dishes, utensils or pots and pans.
Review 76:Despite having made a booking far in advance, and having asked for a quiet room, I was given a room directly over the bandstand of the bar on the floor below me. Music lasted until 1:30 am one night and the next night it STARTED at 1:30 am. I booked a queen size bed, but was given a room with twin beds, too narrow for comfort.
Review 77:Location, The shower worked and there was hot water.
Review 78:We were put into a totally different room type than we had booked (no kitchenette), and the staff were reluctant to do anything about it on the grounds that the two room types cost the same. I had to insist that I hadn't booked because of the cost, I had booked because I wanted a fridge, for quite a while before they somewhat begrudgingly moved us. Everything was good after that, though.
Review 79:The location is unbeatable. The property is definitely old and could use a new paint job in some rooms, but it's clean and rustic and half the price of anything else in town.
Review 80:The experience was not "bad" - neutral rather. The room was advertised as a "kitchenette suite." It was one room, very small, the kitchenette consisted of a stove/fridge/sink combo with a few shelves above. A tiny wardrobe. No closet. The room and bathroom were reasonably clean, but there was no bathroom sink. A few dishes were supplied after several requests. There were no cooking utensils, nor coffee pot nor kettle. No complimentary coffee or tea. After two hours sleep on my last night, with a 6am ferry to catch, I forgot to pick up my prescription glasses (probably in the bed, as I was wakeful and reading) I cannot read without them, so I know this was where I left them. I take responsibility for my own carelessness, but I don't understand why, after numerous long distance calls and an email, these have not surfaced.
Review 81:The room was very small (but not all of them are - call and request a bigger one.) The stairs were almost a deal breaker.
Review 82:Staff was friendly and helpful, and the location couldn't be better.
Review 83:The shared bathroom floor was dirty, WiFi didn't work, too noisy.
Review 84:The management let us out of our 5 night booking and only charged us the one night we stayed.
Review 85:No elevator.
Review 86:The hotel is in downtown Juneau, but Juneau is not so big anyhow. Our room has a kitchen, where there are ovens and microwave. The internet worked properly. The hotel is in walking distance to the harbor as well as the bus terminal, where you can take one of the buses (blus lines) to go to the glacier or Douglas.
Review 87:The building is very old with lots of stairs to climb. The rooms could do do with some facelifting.
Review 88:The hotel is big on atmosphere with its antique furniture and great pub. The staff are super friendly and extremely helpful.
Review 89:If one is hankering for an old west style hotel were the bathrooms and showers are shared, then this might be the place for you. It is clean but rustic, above the bar but seemingly tranquil, with comfortable beds.
Review 90:Weed. The whole place consistently spelt of marijuana. The staff were always moving about and doing things, so there was hardly anyone helpful at the front desk when you needed it. We stayed in the two single bed room, which was supposed to be an executive twin suite... But it was no suite. The room was The size of a closet with a shower and toilet. The hotel has no wifi, rather it uses the communitie wifi, which is dramatically slow. Another warning of advice, don't get frisky with your partners. 3 nights in a row we were awakened to the sounds of ravens, only we thought they ravens! The girls were letting it out and the walls are no thicker than paper. The price should be about $70 a night...
Review 91:The hotel was in a great spot, right in the heart of downtown Juneau, with easy access to all the stores, restaurants and event meeting places.
Review 92:The stairs to the upper floors got to be something of a chore. Hotel is not accessible to anyone incapable of navigating them.
Review 93:A funky, true to Alaska property. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was great. Accommodations were unique.
Review 94:Sometime the parking is challenging, but manageable. We were there three nights and didn't pay a dime for parking by using free parking when it was available.
Review 95:Every room is unique, and ours was comfortable and like no other room we've ever been in. We had our own bathroom and a small kitchenette facility. The staff was outstanding
Review 96:The old guy at the front desk is beyond rude. They have no shuttle. No shower/toilet in the room. Super far from the airport. No breakfast. It is an expensive hostal.
Review 97:The bed was comfortable.
Review 98:Above a bar and younger crowd up all night.
Review 99:I like the private rooms and price! The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Great location for being in town on a short trip! I'd stay again.
Review 100:The barkeep did nothing to help a friend and I out when a older drunk man made aggressive and loud passes at us. After our asking the bartender to kick him out or shut the man up, the barkeep said he couldn't do anything. We moved to another seat in the bar away from the man, but his calls did not cease. The barkeep did nothing besides offering another drink to the both of us on the house. The man bothered us for no less than half an hour. It was disappointing, to say the least.
Review 101:The location is great and the ambience in the hotel is both rustic and charming.
Review 102:Rooms that weren't upgraded were pretty outdated and grimey feeling. Hoping they continue with the upgrades. Made a world of difference (We stayed one night in an older room; two nights in upgraded room) If you are truly afraid of ghosts maybe read up on the history ;) We had no encounters though.
Review 103:We stayed here a couple of nights as a layover on a backpacking trip. Asked for one of the upgraded rooms and found it was charming and exactly what you should expect from a 100 year old hotel that houses the local bar. Bar downstairs is a really good time and had great live music. Laundry onsite for cheaper than local laundromat. Really friendly people and town.
Review 104:The Alaskan Hotel and Bar is within walking distance to most places in historical downtown Juneau. Each room has its own unique personality with a mini-kitchen (limited dishes, pots etc.); some with own bathrooms. Listed on the historical register (built in 1913) the hotel and bar are full of character. There is a limited continental breakfast included in the room price. (Great coffee place right across the street.) For the charm, location, and price, I would recommend the Alaskan Hotel and Bar.
Review 105:My husband & I met in Juneau 25 years ago. We spent a night at the Alaskan Bar & Hotel back then, & on our 2nd honeymoon, we spent a week in Juneau. One of the nights at this hotel. Some things had not changed which we loved. The rooms had been remodeled which was also good. We would definitely recommend the hotel to family & friends.
Review 106:Room over street very noisy. Partiers loud in several bars along street and homeless sleeping in doorways arguing with each other. Also street cleaner goes by several times early in morning. No elevator.
Review 107:Location was perfect. Quaint rooms as they kept to historic accuracy.
Review 108:bathrooms were not clean and in bad condition, after the first night in this place I cancelled the second, because I could not imagine to spend there another night
Review 109:Linens were clean, can't say anything negative about the staff, wifi available
Review 110:I wouldn't bring a family here. The hotel seems to cater to single or young people who tend to be up late. There is a very active bar downstairs that plays live music long into the night, even on weekdays. You don't hear it so much on the third floor, but on the second floor it's quite noisy. GET A ROOM WITH A PRIVATE BATH. Pay the extra $20 for your own shower and toilet, as the ones "down the hall"... I'll just say they are heavily used and often not very clean, particularly by evening, although they are cleaned each morning. Many of the windows look out at a vacant lot full of trash, or brick walls. Mine looked out at three porta-potties sitting on the back deck, just a few feet away.
Review 111:The Alaskan is located in the middle of downtown Juneau, in the old part of town, so you can walk just about anywhere yet be out of the "cruise ship" crowd just down the street. This is a very old building, and most of the furnishings are similar in age, and I enjoyed that authenticity. My mattress was actually very comfortable, with a clean white comforter cover and sheets. There were nice toiletries provided and clean white towels. For the solo traveler trying to save money for doing other things, this is a good place to get some sleep and a nice warm shower, and there's great coffee just across the street at 7 am. But, it is not a place you'd go to to relax and enjoy peace and quiet, or lovely views.
Review 112:Only problem was when a guest got a little sick in the shared bath one night. It Happens, bathroom was clean by morning
Review 113:The history behind this place(and the price) is what got me to stay and the staff at the Bar is TOP NOTCH(and lets face it, Rachelle one of the bar tenders is cute and friendly) it's clean comfortable and the other guests were great. I had a twin with a shared bathroom.
Review 114:No Shuttle from the airport. Very noisy--can hear everything including every time someone flushed the toilet, in another room. We saw a mouse in our room and when we told one of the staff members they did not say much. Some how our room got tripled book, not by anything we did. Paul was very irritated and although it worked out and we did not have to change rooms, it seemed like it was our fault and he had to fix our mistake. Wi-Fi was available buy you had to get a password from staff.. we didn't even ask. The lady who checked us in did not seem happy to be there.
Review 115:Great location right in the heart of Down Town Juneau and Historical Site.
Review 116:It was a bit noisy late at nite but we don't stay up to 4am at home. Other then that we still slept good.
Review 117:The quaintness of the place and location, nice for the downtown.
Review 118:I was aware of the historic nature of the hotel and set my expectations accordingly. Therefore I was not disappointed about anything.
Review 119:This is an old hotel. Do not expect fancy modern amenities. It is charming and historic and a great value. Lodging is Juneau is outrageous, and tha Alaskan provides an affordable alternative. The toilets and showers separate from some of the rooms is no problem, as long as you are aware of that situation when you book. I have lived in Juneau and currently live in SE Alaska, and I would stay there again. Oh, and they let me have my dog there, too!
Review 120:Nothing!
Review 121:Great location and historical ambiance. If you're looking for urban elegance, don't stay here but if you want the feel of historic Alaska, this is your place to stay.
Review 122:Inconsiderate neighbors up above
Review 123:I loved being a couple steps from everything I needed: bookstores, great restaurants, liquor store, yoga studio, coffeeshop and the docks. Franklin street was lively. The building has a great lobby with beautiful woodwork and old boudoir.
Review 124:Wifi was poor in the room we were in. .. didn't really try it anywhere else. Bathroom was really small. Had to ask for toilet paper as there was none in the room when we arrived.
Review 125:Price was lowest I could find in Juneau. Rooms were clean and the location is right in the middle of everything!
Review 126:The refurbishing is old and gives the place a tacky feel. Some money spent on upgrading mattresses, decorations, paint, carpet would go a long ways towards making this a first rate hotel.
Review 127:The character of an old building is do much more interesting than those built today. Add to that the history of the place and you have an intriguing place to stay. The price was right and we were very satisfied with our experience.
Review 128:Does not honor reservations & online prices, charges what seems appropriate to fulness levels. Parking is virtually nonexistent: One can't get permits for long-term parking after 4pm, street parking is 2 hours max, and cars have to be removed from *2AM* (!!!) to 6am. Downtown Juneau is not a nice area. Hotel is next to burned-out ruins and park where winos sleep.
Review 129:Hotel botched up our reservation, wanted to charge 50% more and refused to contact booking.com support to sort out matters, instead decided not to sell us any accommodation. This happened to multiple parties on this one day alone. Receptionist is left alone during check-in rush hours, so that the manager can get drunk next door (already inebriated at 6pm)
Review 130:was given a room that still had previous guests' stuff in it; had to get another room; front desk worker complained about other workers not following procedures "Kitchenette" had no utensils, pots, pans, etc....not even a coffee maker Only one burner on stove even worked no heat and all space heaters were already taken after a long day of hiking, climbing four flights of stairs was annoying room had recently been painted but the job was very messy
Review 131:location; history interesting bar
Review 132:We had a room on the street and it was really loud one night. Take ear plugs and you will be fine.
Review 133:Rooms were sparse, but comfortable. Bathroom down the hall was clean. Staff was friendly.
Review 134:The staff are nice but they seem to prefer not to smile. I didn't see any of them smile, either to me or to the guests.
Review 135:Perfect location, from which everywhere is within walking distance. Cozy and clean room that was beyond my expectations.
Review 136:Very bad smell in the room, even with open window. Wifi and TV was not working in my room. My room didn't have bathroom and I found out only at the hotel (too late). Last day before I left I washed my hair but already with wet hair I found out there is no hairdryer in the whole hotel. Unfortunately outside was only 15 degrees that day... I remembered there is another hotel close by on the way to the orthodox church. I went there and their staff was very helpful (even if I was not their guest), they gave me a hairdryer. It was very embarrassing but I had no other choice.
Review 137:Location was very good!
Review 138:Loud bar music and karaoke. Poor wifi, no elevators. Had to carry my luggage up 3 flights of stairs. The front desk staff member Paul was very rude and unhappy. He kept sighing and breathing hard every time he had to do something. It was the worse hotel. It looks haunted. When a earthquake happened I actually thought it was my room being haunted and started praying!
Review 139:Some of the women that were staff were really nice.
Review 140:Was unaware of lack of private bathrooms at time of booking, my room had one but it was by luck, not intent. (They state it on their website but Booking.Com dropped the ball on that one) Room was infested with spiders, flies, and probably bed bugs. Bathroom looked like it was barely cleaned prior to my arrival. Homeless sleeping in doorways of surrounding buildings though they tend to leave people alone. Private bathroom in my room (again, only by chance) had no door or curtain on it. Beware if traveling in a group.
Review 141:The location
