Reviews for Las Palomas
Review 1:Can't think of anything
Review 2:Beautiful and luxurious accommodations in traditional "Santa Fe" style. Excellent downtown location. Front desk staff amazingly helpful. Espresso bar and breakfast service was outstanding. Wood fireplace in the room was a nice touch! Two bedroom unit was perfect for two couples. Only stayed one night but wished it could have been longer!
Review 3:Loved the location and the omelette/waffle bar and lattes in the morning for breakfast were wonderful. Fireplace in the rooms with wood pile and easy starter kit was a nice touch.
Review 4:Found pet hair in the rooms floor. My wife has allergies. Luckily she had taken her pills. Probably won't stay again unless they have pet free rooms!
Review 5:Convinent to almost everything.
Review 6:Great location, super friendly staff and great lobby experience. The breakfast was a real pleasant experience ... Even made you fresh latte or cappuccino or espresso ! Quaint rooms and a great experience. I'll stay here again for sure!
Review 7:We loved everything!
Review 8:The staff was extremely friendly. My family loved every minute. The breakfast was outstanding! Beautiful Casitas, very warm and welcoming. We can't wait to go back for our next visit.
Review 9:There was a family with kids and a dog next door. The dog cried all night and into the morning. It was impossible to sleep. At around 7am both the dog and the children were crying and we just decided to get up and leave.
Review 10:Breakfast, room was nice
Review 11:The room had a wood burning fireplace, which we lit, and yes, the flue was open, and the room filled with smoke to the point we had to open all the windows and door to air it out. Also, the tv was not HD and the remote control did not work properly. The microwave did not work either.
Review 12:The bed, bed linens, and the towels were excellent. The location was excellent.
Review 13:We planned a family reunion, coming from four locations. Two families were trapped in a blizzard and one had a family emergency. The staff were wonderful to us and helped in any way they could. The family who made it to Las Paloma's had a wonderful stay.
Review 14:The staff is outstanding! They approached us with suggestions for activities and making recommendations for restaurants...and then making the reservations.
Review 15:It was a bit of a surprise when I arrived how spread out the property was. It was an extended family trip and my room was a block away from my sister's condo. I did a lot of walking Thanksgiving week.
Review 16:I enjoyed the bed and breakfast atmosphere and the staff was incredibly friendly.
Review 17:Folks were friendly and extremely helpful, great location and comfy rooms. But the best part...the breakfast! Its food, actual real food made fresh on site, and lots of it. Eggs cooked to order, fresh muffins, waffles, fruit and more. Not a nasty synthetic muffin-in-a-baggie to be seen. We're going back for Christmas.
Review 18:Obviously light cleaning after last guest. Dog hair on floor. Ceiling fan covered in dust. Bathroom not clean even tags from previous guests shopping still on counter
Review 19:Rustic atmosphere. Fireplace. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Location superb. Breakfast was incredible.
Review 20:I will say we came in late at night in slushy snow. It was very hard to park in such a small area. Very cramped.
Review 21:Absolutely loved this little bungalow with the beautiful courtyard. The bed was fabulous, but the charm of the room was priceless.
Review 22:Wish we stayed longer!
Review 23:The entire structure is beautiful, elegant and with a fine character. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Parking is super convenient near the room. Breakfast has different options on request and it is of good quality (I am italian and I enjoyed the continental choices). The staff was super nice and helpful. The place is walking distance from the plaza and Santa Fe is a jewel!
Review 24:Quaint and comfortable! Hospitality excellent. Great breakfast ... It was snowing and the free shuttle took us into town. This is a terrific place!
Review 25:This is the second stay for me and my son at Las Palomas. The location is excellent and you get a great breakfast to start your day. The room is comfortable with a fireplace which we put to use every evening.
Review 26:some fireplace smell seemed to be coming in through the vent on the first night - we weren't using our fireplace the first night so we figured it must be coming from a neighboring unit.
Review 27:perfect location, free parking, incredibly comfortable, fantastic breakfast, and great for pets.
Review 28:No bad experience!
Review 29:Very dog friendly -- gave my pup a goodie bag I check in! Hotel "room" was more of a tiny house, very pleasantly surprised -- fireplace and wood included. Morning "continental" breakfast was unbelievable.
Review 30:Grouchy me...found it hard to pay an xtra 20 bucks a day for a 2 lb. Chihuahua to stay..but hey, i got over it.
Review 31:Las Palomas spared no attention to the gorgeous detail...visually, both grounds and casitas and breakfast rooms gave intimate glimpses into the owners'desire to capture and share the essence of Santa Fe.. Generous and trusting presentations of real art, two and three dimensional pieces placed liberally throughout the whole place....as tasteful and rich as a La Fonda corridor or room and with the added luxury of safe, cozy ground floor access... The kiva fireplace was an especially welcoming place to meditate and relax as night came...and again...liberal, generous wood provided to enjoy. Breakfast was very decent and nourishing and omelettes tailored to order were juicy and fat...as was the onsite barristas availsble all day.
Review 32:Grounds and room could have been cleaner.
Review 33:The room was much bigger than expected. Breakfast was excellent, but there was no meat choice which surprised me. Room was very quiet and had all the amenities.
Review 34:Wifi rather slow at times.
Review 35:Very convenient for all the main attractions in Santa Fe. Very spacious and comfortable. accommodation which was excellent value for money. Superb range of choices for breakfast on real plates and with real cutlery. Most friendly and hospitable staff.
Review 36:I loved the king suite we had with the fireplace. The pathway to the room had trees and a fountain and piles of wood for the fireplaces. Very quiet and picturesque.
Review 37:The pillows. Hard and think they caused me to get a facial rash When I complained they were changed The bed on the soft side When partner moved It was felt like an earthquake had happened
Review 38:The location Very quiet
Review 39:The Casita was huge, probably to big for just the two of us, but we loved it. The location was about 4.5 blocks from the square and several good restaurants - definitely within walking distance. Although we didn't get much chance to use it, the kitchen was very well supplied, likewise for the fireplace.
Review 40:Very authentic surroundings - old Sante Fe - very central to everything - allSante Fe within walking distance - first class breakfast - staff very willing and helpful at any time of the day
Review 41:We loved everything about the property and the efficient and friendly staff. We enjoyed the use of the London can shuttle that would take us into town and pick us up. We wish we could have stayed longer!
Review 42:Plugs in bedroom were loose couldn't charge anything near my bed. Lighting in the bedroom was poor. Very dark. Couch was comfortable, side chair stiff, could of used a club swivel chair in there or something alittle more comfortable for the money it cost to stay there.
Review 43:Location was great.
Review 44:Rooms needed updating. Not enough lighting in rooms. Spiders in the bathtub. Trash had not been emptied from previous renter.
Review 45:The staff were very friendly. We loved the location...walking distance to plaza and many restaurants. Great breakfast and evening cookies.Terrifically comfortable bed.
Review 46:We enjoyed our " casita" ( King studio with fireplace)- great privacy and comfort. The bed could have been a bit firmer for our taste but it was all very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and gracious . Location was excellent- walking to the plaza but also away from the "scene." Breakfast was abundant and delicious- enjoyed the fresh omelettes.
Review 47:We enjoyed everything about our stay. The room was very comfortable, the bed was great, and the grounds are very nice. The staff was very welcoming and helpful in suggesting a great restaurant for our anniversary dinner and the breakfasts were wonderful.
Review 48:A few things in our room were broken. The switch on the fan fell off in my hand, the toilet paper holder does not fit the toilet paper roll, the fireplace key did not fit the gas fireplace. The window blinds did not work and the wand for closing the blinds also fell off. The room was not even close to "as advertised" in the brochure, and I do mean NOT EVEN close. This is the second year we have stayed there and the second time that we have left feeling that it did not even come close to meeting the standards that I would associate with the amount of money charged per night. We will not be staying here again.
Review 49:Location is good
Review 50:The property was nestled in the neighborhood and was only a short walk from the plaza. Nicely decorated and let creative and original. The delux continental breakfast was awesome! And the staff seemed to like their job.
Review 51:TV in bedroom did not work. Not a big deal as one in living room did.Could not get on Internet.
Review 52:Location, studio room with private patio and fireplace that worked. Full service kitchen. Parking. Breakfast was excellent many choices.Robes. Tis is our second stay and never disappointed.
Review 53:Nothing. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Las Palomas.
Review 54:The room was beautiful, was and cozy. The bed slept like a dream with comfortable pillows. Very relaxing atmosphere. The hotel shuttle is a bonus. The front desk staff, especially Tina and Alan, were always friendly and remembered what you told them you had planned for the day and would ask you about it the next time they saw you. Breakfast! I can't say enough wonderful things about breakfast! Scrumptious and simply delicious. Overall friendliness and knowledge of the staff is a big "10!"
Review 55:I loved everything about Las Palomas! So comfortable, such nice staff, wonderful patio, great breakfast, walking distance to plaza but perfect distance from the tourist hustle.
Review 56:We would have preferred a room closer to the main entrance. We were in Room 5 in Pueblo and had no internet connection. Plus the room was old and funky.
Review 57:We loved the staff, they were very helpful. We loved the wonderful breakfast, which was included daily. We enjoyed the singing cowboy at breakfast.
Review 58:Santa Fe perfection within walking distance of the plaza. The breakfast omelets and waffles were delicious, but best of all was the musician from Bolivia playing guitar and pan flute music quietly in the breakfast room. What a way to start the day!
Review 59:Poor bang for buck. Nothing else was anything but average at best. Casita was like rooming in a cave. Very dark and gloomy. Lots of luck altering your stay in any way. Most reviews as well as pictures of facility were misleading to say the least.
Review 60:Location. That's about it.
Review 61:The location near the plaza and downtown museums is fabulous. Breakfast is delicious and much more than a continental breakfast. Enjoyed the guitar music with breakfast on the weekend. A lovely touch! Also enjoyed the coffees available at all times. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Loved our casita lodging and the atmosphere specific to Sante Fe. This is what I refer to as a Sante Fe experience. Low key, accomodating and charming.
Review 62:Many room maintenance items need to be addressed. Landscaping is not being maintained to their usual standards.
Review 63:Location is easy walking distance to the plaza. The free breakfast is outstanding.
Review 64:Very friendly staff gave us an incredible room and advice on what to do in town for our one-night stopover. We had the perfect 24 hours in Santa Fe witnessing Zozobra, eating delicious food and enjoying our comfy room. The guitar player at the hot breakfast was the perfect send off.
Review 65:The room was quaint and had the southwest feel we were looking for. The bed was very comfy and the breakfast was awesome! The was even a man playing guitar music while we ate. We loved it!
Review 66:We had a lovely stay at Las Palomas! The accommodations were charming, the location was very good, and the breakfast was outstanding! Highly recommend!
Review 67:Staff went out of their way to be helpful and attentive. Location was close to shopping and restaurants, plus, they offered shuttle service. Breakfast was good, and the service was enjoyable and efficient. We were very pleased.
Review 68:I liked the peace and quiet of Las Palomas. It's right in the heart of Santa Fe, but with a quiet neighborhood surrounding it. Easily can walk to any attractions, restaurants and shopping near the plaza. They also provide a ride in an old English Cab, to the plaza and the area. And its right down the street from a wonderful Piano bar called "The Vanessie".
Review 69:Number 3 needed to be painted. Several areas of paint on the wall were peeling. Floor paint was poor. The behive had black smoke damage and the ro smelled of smoke. No screens on the windows.
Review 70:Fantastic, custom-made breakfast, wonderful staff. Owner dined with us at breakfast. Our room was so quiet, despite being near the parking lot. Beautifully decorated room, in style of locale.
Review 71:We loved the welcome gift of strawberries dipped in chocolate and the Breakfast buffet was fabulous! This was by far the loveliest place we stayed on our road trip to the Southwest!!
Review 72:Poor maintenance in two rooms we were assigned (15 and 52). And room 52 has the closet, microwave and refrigerator inside the bathroom. Seriously?!
Review 73:The breakfasts were outstanding. The location is superb.
Review 74:On paper everything at the hotel seems wonderful. Large suite; kitchen; fireplace; free breakfast; etc... But the room has the strangest, slanted floors, the bathroom is not that clean; there is little privacy, as the curtains do not fully cover the bathroom window; the kitchen lacks basic utensils (forks, spoons). This is not a cheap hotel; the guests deserve better.
Review 75:The staff is as helpful as it can be. The hotel's location is fine.
Review 76:The accomodations did not look anything like the pictures on the web site. The kitchen was just plywood shelves; not a kitchen displayed on line. No tile floors; they were painted concrete. The lamps had no shades; just bare bulbs. The TV did not work; it had to be unplugged to turn it off. The bed was very uncomfortable.
Review 77:The location was good and the staff was friendly.
Review 78:Only one problem - very inconsistent wifi. A signal booster might be in order.
Review 79:Location (convenient, quiet); charming; full breakfast were well prepared; friendly staff; northern New Mexico amibiance. While we didn't bring our dog, others did and the dogs were welcome guests.
Review 80:We should have chosen a larger accommodation. The studio(for two people) was not adequate for us. The price was a bit over blown for what we got.
Review 81:The location to the Plaza and other attractions was great. Al and Tina , the front desk people, were outstanding. The breakfast was fit for a KING!!!Loved the atmosphere , art work, Guitar player, and the anytime of day warm Cookies!!!
Review 82:Nothing at all!
Review 83:The place has a lot of character - Typical of Santa Fe Huge delicious breakfast Great location - Right next to the center of Santa Fe
Review 84:I hate to ding the property in any way. However, I am a hard core geek. The WIFI was simply bad. I had to use other internet sources to accomplish my purposes.
Review 85:The suite was funky...we loved that. We could not believe the overall value.
Review 86:Room was very big but TV location was far from ideal. Could not see it from bed and even viewing from couch was not easy. Parking was close but had some challenges.
Review 87:Breakfast was superb. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 88:The room smelled smokey from fireplace and there were no screens on windows so we could air it out.
Review 89:The food was superb. Room was comfortable and clean. The staff was phenomenal
Review 90:The breakfast was amazing. The chef provided us with delicious omelets every morning! The decor was fabulous! The staff was friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back! !
Review 91:The location was perfect for walking everywhere. When we walked in, we couldn't believe how huge the space was. It was like a whole house in downtown. It was hard to leave!
Review 92:I have bad knees so I can't stay in the rooms that have stairs....
Review 93:I like everything about Las Palomas. I love how every unit is different. Each time we come it's a fun surprise.
Review 94:Really hard to come up with anything negative, but one thing with our room that was an issue had to do with the skylight in our bedroom. There was no way to block it off, therefore we awoke with the sun.
Review 95:Upon arrival and check-in we were greeted by friendly staff offering warm cookies and specialty coffee beverages. The hotel has a great Santa Fe feel with close proximity to the plaza.
Review 96:Like the fact that it was close to downtown, about a 5 min walk. The breakfast was awesome! The room was very nice with a fireplace and full kitchen. Will be staying here again.
Review 97:Front office staff were a little disorganized. Missed not having more personal interaction with owners/managers, which is the fun part of going to B & Bs. Interior of suite was a little worn looking.
Review 98:Walking distance to the Plaza. Staff was overall pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with omelets made to order.
Review 99:Excellent staff. Wonderful property with traditional southwestern decorations. Breakfast was great with made to order omelets, waffles and coffee drinks.
Review 100:Location, staff, shuttle to local areas, breakfast all excellent. Staff very helpful walk to most areas in central Santa Fe, room had all conveinieces, bathrooms fully equiped.
Review 101:When I returned home Friday night early at 8:15 pm, there was no parking at my unit. I had to park at reception and then walk 2 blocks in the dark by myself to get home
Review 102:Upgraded to a suite
Review 103:Great location -walking distance into Santa Fe old town, comfortable stylish apartment. Plenty of space. Free breakfast in the reception area dining room.
Review 104:Terrible wi-fi! We stayed in the Pueblo complex where the wi-fi was poor to impossible. Only option was to head over to the main desk/breakfast building where wi-fi was fine. Other than this, however, everything exceeded expectations!
Review 105:We made reservations here last-minute (end of March) for an impulsive, 5-night, warm-weather vacation. Couldn't have been happier! This place is perfectly located for shopping/tourism/eating out in Santa Fe; we barely used our car once we arrived. Also: wonderful, cozy rooms (didn't expect a wood-stocked fireplace or full kitchen!); amazing free breakfast (made-to-order waffles, omelets, cappuccino!); helpful staff (offered up great restaurant advice/reservations--and oven-fresh cookies when we checked in!). Would definitely recommend Las Palomas for art/food-oriented couples like ourselves!
Review 106:I wasn't too impressed by the room itself. We've stayed in different rooms and they were better. The layout was awkward and bed was hard to get in and out of.
Review 107:We like the property and the staff is great. We've been here before and service is very consistent. Breakfast is great and so was the guitarist that played during the meal.
Review 108:n/a
Review 109:Everthing! The GM was terrific, even if he was from Stowe!!The breakfast was particularly good and the location terrific!!! We'll be back, and sending friends.
Review 110:TV didn't work - bad reception and Internet was very slow. But I wasn't in Santa Fe to sit around and watch TV and read my emails, so I didn't really mind. It saved me from working on my vacation,
Review 111:I love the suites and I have been upgraded both times which I really appreciate.
Review 112:Best costumer service, the staff was so friendly. They greeted our dog with a bag of treats and a rope toy! The bed was large and super comfy, loved the living room, and the breakfast nook in the room.
Review 113:We loved everything..
Review 114:I loved how wonderful and kind everyone was.. The rooms were wonderful and extremely comfortable. We will most defiantly be back..
Review 115:The large bathroom needs a bench or something to put toiletries on. The WIFI was VERY slow most of the time and stopped some of the time. The "plastic" slapping noise (on the roof?) was distracting.
Review 116:The breakfast and breakfast area were Great. The location was convenient.
Review 117:If you need everything in your hotel to be new and nice, this ain't the place for you -- but if you like everything new and nice, Santa Fe is probably not the place for you either.
Review 118:Omelets and waffles at breakfast Quiet and atmospheric, very Santa Fe kind of place Staff is great Walking distance to plaza and lots of excellent restaurants Free, fast shuttle to take you other places
