Reviews for Deluxe Inn

Review 1:No coffee, hangers, washcloths, Kleenex on the first night. Got all except Kleenex the second night. Would not have wanted to stay to longer.

Review 2:Location

Review 3:Staff absolutely incomprehensible due to accent. Apparently good intentioned, but just impossible. Staff appeared to be very limited Bugs (small roaches ?) in bathroom area. No Kleenex, linens sparse-worn, TV had to be repaired (re connected to cable and controls reoriented to work,) which we did. Obvious poor management. cheap housekeeping

Review 4:Easy access from IH 35 and return, handy to BU and for travelers Decent accommodations for overnight only (i.e. good repair, not antiquated), potential for much better accommodations than exist, probably with increase in rates by 25%

Review 5:I had called to get permission to ship boxes of merchandise & was told okay. They didn't speak much English, so I called 4 days in a row to remind them of the shipment. They refused the boxes the night before I arrived, causing me to not have enough stock to do my business in Waco!

Review 6:The room was clean and comfortable

Review 7:It is run down and dirty. When we told the front desk that our door frame was broken and the door did not lockfrom the inside- he said he would send someone.(we only stayed because it was so late after a football game to drive home) They never came. The next morning I went to check out and tell them to make sure they did not charge us for the broken door/broken AC and all the stains in the carpet. The man behind the desk said-yesI know another customer did it.My thought-If they know why don't they fix it. It could be a great hotel close to campus but it has turned into a dump. The price is great but it is not worth it at all. I hope they update it soon.

Review 8:location only

Review 9:Clickers were broken. Tv was broken. Staff did not speak any English. Not worth even $1.00! I will nt be staying here again and will be telling everyone in Waco to avoid this.

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:This place has the worst management - people sleep on the floor in the office there's blood in the bathroom disgusting stains all over the sheets. I wanted to rip my skin off when I left this place.

Review 12:Good location, close to Baylor

Review 13:TV didn't function properly..handle in sink unsteady and finally came off. Room dark.

Review 14:Manager tried hard to see that things were right...local newspaper provided. The breakfast seemed nice although we only got coffee.

Review 15:Bathroom door would not stay shut due to poorly repaired door frame. Non-smoking room had odors. Pillows are postage stamps, very small, not adequate for king size bed. Place looked good 25 years ago but very out of date today.

Review 16:Staff is friendly and efficient. Easy on/off freeway. Walking distance to Baylor University which was our weekend destination.

Review 17:The hotel is very dated which would have been okay if it had been clean, but there was dried blood on the top sheet of one of the beds and nothing was done about it...to top things off, the television/cable did not work. Manager was totally unwilling to make this horrible sitiuation right.

Review 18:language .communication barrier, lots of unplugged lamps and TV etc. No offer of breakfast, confusing payment procedure. They ran my card even after using booking.com They cant understand English.

Review 19:It's not the kind of place you would want to vacation. Older property motel. I really prefer the safety of a hotel.

Review 20:I was just looking for an inexpensive place to sleep. I was only there a few hours and it met my needs.

Review 21:The first room smelled and was filthy. Carpet stained, walls dirty and written on, smoke alarm pulled from the wall and cockroaches everywhere.

Review 22:When we had an issue with the original room we were given they moved us to a larger room.

Review 23:When we entered the room there were two live cockroaches crawling on the floor! The faucet in the bathroom was broken, One of the reading lights was inoperative. I think it is disgraceful to charge $20 extra for a handicap accessible room. It was NOT handicap accessible, It was impossible for me to enter the room without assistance. SHAME,SHAME,SHAME!

Review 24:Convenient to the places we wanted to go. The Breakfasts were good.

Review 25:First room=bugs & unclean. After no accommodation to cancel reservation, the second room looked cleaner but had a cricket problem. Over two nights, I encountered several crickets throughout my room.

Review 26:Close to Baylor

Review 27:Shower didn't work 1st day of stay (fixed for remainder of stay); mediocre breakfast; lobby compute printer needed toner refill

Review 28:WiFi; frig in room; convenient to Waco Convention Center

Review 29:Black long hairs were on the bath tub wall. Shower curtain as well. Towels were stained. Sink had hairs also. Sheets did not look like they had been washed. Oh, and the pool was not working!

Review 30:The wi-fi and the air conditioner.

Review 31:Room immediately as we entered smells like cigarette smoke. The smoke smell was coming from the ac unit it appeared and we had to spray air freshener in room to forget about smell.

Review 32:Easy to find and the price was right for one night stay.

Review 33:The owner followed me around looking at what little he offered for breakfast and asking me what I'd like. Had no batter out for waffles and when I asked, he asked how many and then made 2 for me. Then proceeded to ask were we staying the night again, after checking in the previous night, we discovered funds hadn't been deposited and therefore could only afford one night even tho I booked 2. Then at promptly check out time was coming up the stairs as we came down to make sure we were leaving. Clearly a communication problem due to his ethnicity.

Review 34:The room was clean

Review 35:1. No manual lock on door (it had been disabled) 2. Linens wrinkled as though they'd been wadded up - possibly reused without laundering (not sure)

Review 36:The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows old and small. The towels appeared to have been washed but felt like they had been used before i entered the room.

Review 37:The room was clean and the a/c worked great.

Review 38:Hair on tub wall. Towel rack broken away from wall. Pool was ok, I've seen better. Daylight showing around the ac unit. Lobby had old smell. When I worked here in 2000, it was much nicer.

Review 39:This was a central location for me in relation to people I needed to visit and for my grand kids to visit. Cold air.

Review 40:TV stand a lil dusty and lack of drain in tub. Was assured card booked room with was not charged but it was; refunded promptly

Review 41:Convenient location and value for money

Review 42:When I first arrived my room was not clean and I told them I would come back after I visited my mother. When I came back I was met outside by the cleaning lady who asked me how it was. Horrible. There were people outside that asked my about my car, creepy. I have pictures of how nasty this room was. I went to tell the manager at the front office and all he said was I'm sorry. If I had somewhere to go I would have left. Dirty pillowcase, I did not sleep on the sheets. Dirty bathtub and bathroom. Hair on the floor not mine. Bugs in the room, dead and alive. I actually killed a spider. Sorry 2 sentences won't do it. Horrible experience

Review 43:I did not like anything about this hotel and will never stay again

Review 44:The room stunk. The for didn't work reliably. The TV only had one channel, there were 2 remotes that didn't work. There were cockroaches in the shower and bathroom

Review 45:The WiFi was the only good thing

Review 46:My husband complained of the noisy traffic--not much you can do about that. I thought the price was too high, but I suppose all the motels jacked up their prices because of Baylor graduation.

Review 47:One guy in particular, a senior gentleman, was very helpful with the TV and the breakfast.

Review 48:The beds were hard and very uncomfortable. I could not have slept there for more than one night. The breakfast buffet was slim, but reasonable given the price.

Review 49:Safe feeling for a motel (exterior doors). Attentive owner and employees. Great price for a one-night stay at a time when the city was almost sold out.

Review 50:TV was old and used a converter box that didn't work! You would think by this time they would have a LED TV instead of a CRT TV! This was my biggest complaint!!

Review 51:Staff was friendly and solved most of our problems.

Review 52:Little bit of a language barrier. Need to update their computer system so they don't have to keep hand writing the guest cards.

Review 53:The staff was very friendly. Close to the Highway... Easy access to Baylor...

Review 54:Old and run down. Needs lots of work.

Review 55:The price was reasonable for a college hotel on game day. Location is excellent for Baylor University. Hotel is clean.

Review 56:Arrived at 12:30 p.m. Had to wait 1/2 hr for someone to show up and check us in. The electrical outlets in the sink area and one outlet in the living area didn't work. Had bugs crawling in the bathroom during the night. I won't be back.

Review 57:Bare minimum level of care/service, many niggling issues. Desk service was brusque. The ice and vending machines were both out of service, to which they suggested I go down the street to a gas station. Burn mark in my bedsheet. Shower did not drain well. Breakfast bar (I arrived about 10 minutes after it opened) was a single overripe banana and a few pieces of bread, and the manager stared disapprovingly over my shoulder while I was eating my one sad banana. Cheap room but I guess you get what you pay for.

Review 58:Convenient location and cheap. Refrigerator and microwave in the room were helpful. Cleanliness was fine.

Review 59:They were very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and clean. I ended up being real close to the VA which is were I was headed. Burger King was next door. That is where I had dinner. A room and breakfast for @$50. You can't find that now a days.

Review 60:Room quality poor needs overhauling and maintance. Alot of things didn't work or about to break. Staff not very friendly. Wouldn't go back unless only thing available.

Review 61:Location & price was ok for what I got.

Review 62:Room was reserved a year in advance , requesting lower room (ground level) and received a second floor room instead. Bathroom was too small to have a toilet seat without a top lid ( items from towel rack above toilet could fall into toilet)(which it did)

Review 63:It was clean and smelled nice

Review 64:In my room the carpet and furniture upholstery was very dirty. This made me question the cleanliness of the bedding, although all surfaces appeared clean, and there was no odor. Don't depend on the included "breakfast" - use the coffee maker and microwave/fridge in your room. During my stay there was no coffee in the dining room, the only fruit out was old brown bananas. Even if there had been anything I wanted to eat, the dining room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke.

Review 65:The check in and check out process was quick and convenient; small building with plenty of parking; was quiet and functional for the few hours I had to rest. I was there for such a short time that I didn't even use the shower, but the bathroom seemed clean enough. There was a small fridge that was actually on and cold already, with Microwave and coffee maker (with coffee grounds only).

Review 66:Dirty, plumbing didn't work, broken towel rack, all vending machines out of order, checkin was delayed due to clerk not having a clue what he was doing

Review 67:Air conditioner worked and didn't freeze up

Review 68:The ice machine and vending machine did not work. The carpets were stained and dirty. The boxsprings were torn and dirty. All in all it was a very unpleasent stay. Would never stay there again and heard that from others also. The motel had changed hands maybe that was the problem.

Review 69:There were bugs in the room. I saw two silverfish bugs in the bathroom. The A/C was not turned on in the room when I arrived. On one of the hottest days of the year thus far, this meant the room was stifling upon entry. The A/C did work once turned on, which is noted above. The free breakfast consisted of only breads. I saw toast, waffles, and cereal. There was barely any mix ready for the waffle iron, though. The only drink available was coffee. There were no juices available.

Review 70:There was pool access, and the pool was shielded from patrons of other establishments and travelers on the road. The A/C worked fine after being turned on.

Review 71:Bed bugs! After staying two nights, my husband and I got bit and ended up taking some home with us. Now we have to incur the cost of heat treating our whole house for bed bugs! We had reservations for two nights and by the time we arrived at 12:30am, it was too late to cancel and we did not have money for a different hotel in addition to still being charged for the room. The location is terrible and this Deluxe Inn is listed as Magnuson Hotel (a two-star hotel) on a different site. The floor was stained up, found at least three dead crickets in the room, the bath mat was practically glued to the side of the bathtub and fell apart when I tried to move it, the towels were stained, the toilet paper roll was already half used, and one of the lights did not next to the bed did not work. Plus, we paid for a Queen-sized bed, but our room only had a Full-sized bed instead. The room was extremely hot when we arrived, no one had turned on the air conditioner for us ahead of time to prepare the room. The breakfast was very disappointing. The waffle machine was always so out of batter that the manager had to tilt the machine to make it come out. Why they didn't refill it when it was empty, I have no idea. We will definitely not be staying here again and we will not be recommending anyone to this hotel. In fact, I will be warning anyone who mentions staying at this hotel. I will not be staying at any other Deluxe Inn either. My opinion of Deluxe Inn hotels is completely ruined. Terrible!!

Review 72:I would give this hotel only one star solely for the friendliness of the front desk staff and manager. It was good they had Wi-Fi.

Review 73:Somebody left the waffle maker a mess. Desk clerk cleaned it up and offered to make a waffle but I already played other food. No fault of deluxe inn.

Review 74:Smoking rooms are hard to find. And these were nice rooms comfortable beds and friendly staff. Was very supprised with booking on line.

Review 75:Having to go back to the office on the second day because the key didn't work. we paid for 2 days and it was very inconvenient to have the key not work because they had not given us credit for the 2nd day.

Review 76:Very nice place to stay. Would probably use it again.

Review 77:-broken down ice machine -pool was filthy and not available. -we had to ask for maid service and they did not sanitize or replace bed sheets the entire 3 night stay. They took out trash and replaced towels. -breakfast was bare, bare minimal

Review 78:nice staff

Review 79:There were bugs in the bed when we got there. They were not bed bugs or roaches but some other kind. They gave us another room. The area around the sink was not clean, a used bottle of shampoo. Will not go back.

Review 80:Pool and hot tub out of order In-room coffee - only decaf available Wi-Fi VERY slow TV poor and intermittent AIR conditioning weak for a 95 degree day Ice maker did not work

Review 81:Clean room and comfortable beds Friendly staff Certainly not under priced

Review 82:water in shower fluctuated from hot to cold

Review 83:Stain on carpet, no shower amenities

Review 84:The room was comfy.

Review 85:The room smelled terrible. The tv would not change channels.

Review 86:Everything else.

Review 87:Price.

Review 88:No budge on needing 30 extra minutes to check out, staff a bit difficult to understand.

Review 89:Great location and very reasonable.

Review 90:Price and quality

Review 91:Pillows. Too small and not comfortable.

Review 92:Non smoking room smelled like an ashtray.

Review 93:a/c unit had bad rattle and loud bath tub had mold they didn't clean room each day no beds made or new towels

Review 94:Very dirty. Will not be coming back.

Review 95:Older hotel. Water pressure was subpar. TV service is staticky and hard to watch.

Review 96:Location was very convenient to Baylor.

Review 97:LOCATION

Review 98:bath towels were very thin and scratchy

Review 99:comfortable beds and a great air conditioner

Review 100:Hair in bathtub, breakfast

Review 101:Cheap

Review 102:Breakfast was lean BUT for the price, it doesn't matter.

Review 103:Location to Baylor. Very helpful and polite staff

Review 104:AC in the room didn't work well; it was very hot

Review 105:Great value and location

Review 106:Phone didn't work; AC didn't work in first room; very old television; clerk was behind a "clear screen" when checking in.

Review 107:Price

Review 108:Staff not friendly

Review 109:Management doesn't speak English and walks right into our room without warning

Review 110:TV. Reception was poor. Address was on wrong side of road. Was N I35 versus S 35 on Internet site.

Review 111:Wi Fi was important to me. Good value for money

Review 112:Dirty towel,dirty sheet,every where is dirty

Review 113:Wifi only

Review 114:swimming pool

Review 115:Place needs renovations. Rooms smell like cigarettes and beds are uncomfortable.

Review 116:Nice people at front counter.

Review 117:Very friendly at check in and with special requests.

Review 118:kind of had an old, dingy feel to it

Review 119:clean restroom and good waffles

Review 120:The odor of the room was unpleasant

Review 121:The friendly personnel

Review 122:Jacuzzi tyb

Review 123:The tooom , smell

Review 124:Didn't get the handicapped room on the ground floor...my wife and I are both handicapped and we had to climb stairs.

Review 127:Bathroom sink handle broke, room stinks, commode didn't work properly, shower hose leaked
