Reviews for Red Lion Inn & Suites Kent

Review 1:This hotel is located next to train tracks. You will definitely here it throughout the night.

Review 2:Rooms are nice, breakfast was pretty good and the price was right.

Review 3:The drunk pounding on our door in the middle of the nite was a real lowpoint especially with the room phone not working to call the manager.Bed was excruciating to lay on. No blankets with just sheets on thebed. We grabbed our stuff as soon as it was light outside and drovehome without partaking of the freebie breakfast. We'll rememberthis forever.

Review 4:Staff was great. Rooms were clean.

Review 5:When I booked it said we would get complementary cocktails but when we got there that wasn't true. Next, when we booked the room I booked it for two adults and two children. The room had a pull out couch bed but no blankets or pillows. Had to go to the front desk and ask the lady to get some for us. Lastly, when I booked the room I used a credit card but got a new one before checking in. I gave them the new one at check in but they called the room in the middle of the night waking us all up because the expiration date didn't match. Asked if I could handle it in the morning as we were sleeping. Next morning they ran the card again still to have it no good. Called my credit card company and they said the hotel was putting in the wrong experation date. Sure enough they were putting in the numbers from the card I reserved the room with. Funny though cause they asked for my card at check in. A lot of interruptions and screwing around for their mistakes. Barely an apology for any of it too.

Review 6:-train tracks close by, trains were very noisy -could not use one of the side doors

Review 7:-excellent value -very friendly and courteous staff -good location as far as being close to stores, restaurants, bars, etc. -free parking -free fast wifi -right next to Interurban trail

Review 8:we did not like the small pillows we would rather have standard size pillows we ended up with sore necks in the morning because of the small pillows. Also the flimsy forks that we had to use the next morning for breakfast were so bad we couldnot even use them to eat our waffles we had to throw the waffle away and get cereal instead.

Review 9:The room was very clean and very nice

Review 10:The phone in room 220 didn't work, but really wasn't a big deal to me since I had brought my iPhone.

Review 11:Continental breakfast, which has a large variety of items. You can make your own hot waffle, have yogurt, cereal, fresh fruits, breads and bagels, orange juice, apple juice, coffee and tea. The exercise room and dry sauna were wonderful to use. The room was clean and comfortable upon arriving. Love the alarm clock by the bed where you can plug your Cell phone and tablet into and charge them up. The beds, pillows and comforter were all nice and comfortable as well. Ability to hook up to free wifi was awesome. Staff very accommodating as well. In room 220 when I took a shower, I accidentally swung my arm and broke a soap dispenser. They replaced it without charging me. In was in this room multiple days and housekeeping gave me extra towels, garbage bags. Would definitely go back to this hotel again the next time I'm in Kent or the area.

Review 12:No real bad experience, it's a cut above a regular Red Lion.

Review 13:It's a basic Red Lion with some remodeling. The mattresses are great the shower is good. The staff shows they are not happy about being there. The breakfast is the standard red lion fare.

Review 14:The room smelled bad, plastic bag was on the smoke alarm. Bars on the windows and a constant train that goes by every few hours blowing it's whistle. An argument in the gas station only a stones throw away at 4am and a guy shouting for someone from the parking lot at 6am. Waking up after a wonderful sleep to find I couldn't make coffee in my room as the main component to put the coffee in was missing.

Review 15:Rooms interior was what was expected, modern, some what clean. They even had a microwave and a fridge that worked. Clean restroom and a functioning shower. The breakfast in the morning served in the lobby area was an added bonus.

Review 16:Gym is pretty minimual and location is very public, people can look in. It's loud in the lobby with the TV blaring, wasn't pleasant for eating breakfast or checking in, made me want to get to my room.

Review 17:Clean and comfortable, reliable wifi. Although located right off highway, road noise wasn't too bad.

Review 18:The hottob looked like someone had put bubblebath in it. Breakfast was horrible and cramped area by food. Hotel charged their rate to hold on card and booking.com rate didn't process until several days after, no ink to print me my receipt.

Review 19:Location is close to freeway and was a fine place for last minute. Near a gas station.Rooms and beds were clean and comfy.

Review 20:Railway within 100 feet from hotel, coming trains usually blow horns in this area. Wi-Fi did not work on 3rd floor. Spotted some suspicious young people wandering at the hotel parking in the night.

Review 21:15 minutes of drive to airport, gas station nearby, clean room.

Review 22:The shampoo n all doesn't smell you clean you might want to switch to different brand but the idea of those tubes is very nice.just doesn't smell clean n fresh..good thing we bought our own.

Review 23:Friendly staff..very clean rooms.Kids tested,Mom n Dad approved.

Review 24:Heard the train multiple times in the early morning, barely any hot water in the morning, and the housekeeper knocked on our door multiple times around 10 am. When I answered, she just stared at me and said, "housekeeping." I told her check out isn't until noon. Called the front desk and confirmed the check out time. A little irritating when you plan to sleep in and get disturbed multiple times.

Review 25:Bed was comfortable.

Review 26:WiFi is not secure.

Review 27:Breakfast was better than we expected based on other reviews. To our surprise, our room was a roomy suite with separate sitting/TV room and bedroom with TV. We'd expected a "normal" hotel room Contrary to other reviews, we heard just one train during our stay and it was off in the distance.

Review 28:price vs facilities over 200 a night for a noisy hotel close to railroad kids running up and down the hallway and had to have my room key redone everyday. When I got to my room no bath towels. I was not happy at all there.

Review 29:Close to freeway for easy access

Review 30:The air /fan in the room rattled, very annoying. The spa and swimming pool had so much chlorine that it was unbearable . The smell burned your eyes. They should tone that down some. That was the reason I picked the hotel, and it was very disappointing.

Review 31:Staff was very friendly . Hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, a lot of variety. I liked the complimentary 2 drinks every evening .

Review 32:Didn't like that they charged me a deposite..wish i would have been told when i reserved...and also telling the girls had to quiet down in pool area!

Review 33:I liked the close vicinity to Mariners stadium and the softball fields we were playing at.

Review 34:First and foremost, there was a terrible smell in the rooms; it was like dead bodies mixed with Lysol and cigarette smoke. Everything was sticky and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The pool and hot tub and had a layer of pond scum like substance floating on top. The pool area and hallways had trash piling up. We had to stay because we had come from out of town, arrived late and could not find another dog friendly hotel in the area that we thought would be any better. I've stayed at some very nice dog friendly hotels, so the pets aren't to blame for this hotel's nastiness. I couldn't wait to check out early; although I was really hesitant to touch the sticky pen they gave me to sign my invoice. I told the Manager and staff their hotel was disgusting and that we would be checking out early. The said, while making no eye contact, "uh...sorry...we won't charge you for the dog."

Review 35:Nothing.

Review 36:Being charged for a room safe that was never used. Being nickeled and dimed. The room was facing the main street so we heard every train loud and clear while trying to sleep. Pull out bed is horrible. Hallways were dirty our entire stay. Check out was a hassle.

Review 37:The room was spacious. Our check in process was fast and friendly.

Review 38:I did not get much sleep because the train went right by the facility THREE times. I t blew it's whistle and was very loud. That is why I gave the location a fair grade. Otherwise it was close to many things.

Review 39:Good price. Comfortable and clean room with nice linens. The bed was comfortable. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful.

Review 40:the breakfast eating area - not enough room when hotel was busy. No decaff coffee !!! Would have liked hot water for tea or hot choc. in the evening. Need far more counter space in the bathroom - no where to lay out our toilettries.

Review 41:The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was roomy. Really appreciated the handicap bars and shower. Trains never bothered us.

Review 42:The hotel is right next to the train, and expect no fewer than five trains to wake you up every night. The walls are pretty thin as well, and we had some rowdy neighbors. The management tries to get people to be quiet and has signs posted everywhere reminding people to settle down after 10, but don't expect to sleep a whole lot.

Review 43:Beds are comfortable, facility is nice enough. The breakfast was great.

Review 44:My CC was charged before I checked in and after I paid cash for the room they charged it again. All was resolved after numerous phone calls to my CC Company.. Very Poorly handled.......

Review 45:Very nice accommodations.....

Review 46:Had previously read another review before booking about trains and their horns, and discounted that comment as someone just being a complainer. Sure enough, a train and it horn blowing just about the time you drifted off to sleep.....all evening, night and morning. Why build a hotel at such a location without good sound insulation?

Review 47:Bed was clean and comfortable. Room and building was 'clean enough', but not really clean.

Review 48:Perhaps it's the lack of common courtesy, but we were up and down all night with families and single people talking loudly, slamming doors, running up and down the bouncy 2nd story balcony hall. It was a poor sleep.

Review 49:The Value

Review 50:There was more chlorine in the pool than water. The walls are paper thin, We could have a normal volume conversation through the walls. The people in the room next to us fought and yelled til 3am. It took management 4 day to take care of this.

Review 51:Nothing

Review 52:inadequate plastic flatware for eating. A waffle could not be cut by fork or knife. There is better plastic available. The soap dispenser in the bathtub can not be reached while sitting in the tub.

Review 53:location and pool the breakfast was very nice

Review 54:Can't say the same for the day staff they were not interested in helping anyone. The breakfast was awful. Toaster took almost five minutes to make toast longer for bagels.

Review 55:The staff were friendly on the night shift took excellent care of us when we checked in at 1:30 am. Rooms were decent and beds were comfortable, curtains kept the light out.

Review 56:Small scale. Little pool. Little feel. Train tracks. Interstate. Gas station. Sausage eggs wafflemakerwaityourturn again blahhhhggghhh!

Review 57:Close to Everything. Not too crowded. Decent beds. Eucalyptus soap. Wifi. 2 beers a night. Lol.

Review 58:Maid had missed cleaning a couple things in our room the first night, but was remedied the next day without us even saying anything.

Review 59:Rooms were nicely decorated, the beds were comfortable, surprisingly quiet for the location, and they had a really nice variety at breakfast (eggs, sausage, bagels, scones, english muffins, waffles, yogurt, and more).

Review 60:The fact that I couldn't stay in the hotel room that I had reserved for the nite for some much needed R & R. At this point I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Run, run, run to another hotel where they won't charge you hidden fees that you don't find out about until after you've already booked a nonrefundable room.

Review 61:This would have been my 2nd trip and probably would have enjoyed it immensely. But didn't get to because they not only canceled it w/o any notice but then the tried to charge me more after they reinstated it!! It was a big ridiculous waste of time!!! So I didn't like anything this time.

Review 62:Before I left I called Red Lion to confirm if there were safes in the room, to which I was told there were none. I also asked for a room on the top floor to get away from the noise of the highway. I was assured that this request woild be made. When we arrived the girl at reception told me there was no such request on my file and gave us a room on the first floor, where the parking is right outside the window. She could not offer any alternative and I wasgetting upset. She also coild not answer any questions I had regarding directions, restaurants in the area etc. but the guy working at the bar (wish I had gotten his name) stepped in and was helpful and knowledgable. He offered us a room on the top floor and when we got in, foind that there was a safe in the room. The next day, our room was not made up by 3:00 so I spoke with him. He apologized and said they would have housekeeping come. We went for dinner and arrived back to find that the housekeeper only took out the garbage and replaced a towel. The bed was not made and coffee was not replaced. I went back to the desk and was told that they have a new housekeeper - no excuses for that!

Review 63:Hotel was modern and easy to find

Review 64:Staff were very helpful and accommodating, especially the young man called. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Good breakfast in light and airy surroundings. Easy access to downtown, airport and nearby shops.

Review 65:That I made reservations for two rooms, for two nights, in February for first weekend of August an when we checked in they only had one room for us. I was not happy.

Review 66:We had to share a room with my parents for one night an the next night they gave us our second room at a discounted price. They made it right, but I still wasn't happy about the whole thing.

Review 67:The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed 4 days and would have liked the bedding changed instead of just being made but was very satisfied just the same.

Review 68:The train that is just steps away from the hotel and came by 3 - 4 times each night. They ran out of coffee in the morning and no one seemed to pay any attention.

Review 69:The staff was great. Nice room and daily breakfast.

Review 70:The only thing that was not very clean was the frige ,previous people. Must of spilled some juice. In it

Review 71:This hotel is very comfortable clean and has every thing you need and incase you forget some personal item they have a little place there to buy it...

Review 72:The only thing I didn't like was that the carpets on the stairs were so very filthy -- it looked like black liquid had been spilled all over them a long time ago.

Review 73:staff, quiet and comfort were great!

Review 74:When I arrived at the hotel the staff was friendly and helpful, until I got into the room. Once I entered the room I realized that it was not the room that I had booked. I booked the Red Lion because of the deal for a King bed with an in room spa bath...I was given a standard double queen room with a combination tub/shower. I went to the desk and explained that I had not booked this room, they proceeded to tell me that was what they received from booking.com. I showed them the confirmation stating "king suite with spa". After confirming that was what the email stated they just looked at me and told me that they did not even have rooms like that, I questioned this as their website even states they have these types of rooms. They just stood there and stared at me and then just told me that they were all booked up. I explained that was unacceptable and wanted the room that I booked, they told me that they would refund me my money and I could go find another hotel!?!?!? I told them I was on my way to a wedding and needed a room now...they continued to stare at me and just told me they could not help me. Very frustrated and disappointed, will never stay there again!
