Reviews for Huron Inn
Review 1:Very noisy outside, We had the room right next to the laundry room, dryer, washer running late into the night. banging of doors, and the outside lighting very bright could not sleep that well.
Review 2:The noise from other rooms could be easily heard (both the water and the conversations).
Review 3:The location was great (right next to two of the boat lines that go to Mackinac Island). The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean.
Review 4:The promo piece said views (of the Lake) from every room; maybe I did from the bathroom window, but I couldn't see it. And there was no local news on the TV.
Review 5:It was close to downtown; I could walk there.
Review 6:The door was difficult to close security issue, it smelled like cat. There wasnt any breakfast. The cost was overpriced for what was available.
Review 7:I liked it was close to downtown the bed was very comfortable, the Internet worked.
Review 8:The mattress was a little hard for my taste. The bay view was distorted with large trash container which I know it not the operators fault
Review 9:Location was perfect. We we're close to the event.
Review 10:See above.
Review 11:Needs work on rooms. Paint pealing in bathroom. Refrigerator & microwavewere sitting on floor. No direction on how to tune t.v. coffee stirer was on floor from last people.
Review 12:Very helpful! The hotel made accomadations for our very late arrival! Itwas nice of them! Other places would have charged us and wouldn'thave been able to get the room
Review 13:Small parking lot, someone was parked in the place for our room. Too expensive for that room, because it was busy in town that weekend. Room was worth about 60.00 but we had to pay 100.00.
Review 14:It had a fridge and microwave, but we did not use.
Review 15:The lake view is not what I thought it would be. The room smelled like it had been closed up for weeks. The parking.
Review 16:The person that checked us in and out was super nice.
Review 17:A little inconvenient for people to go to office, if they needed ice.
Review 18:Our bed was very comfortable, slept well. It was nice to set outside unit looking at lake.
Review 19:Microwave didn't work. Curtains/mini blinds didn't block out light.
Review 20:Location for this particular trip, owners were friendlyb& helpful.
Review 21:The t.v remote was dirty, and when other guests came and went the doors were really loud.
Review 22:We couldn't hear people talking or t.v's in the rooms next to us which was great. Fireworks were awesome!
Review 23:It was a tad outdated, but very fresh and clean so that was way more important.
Review 24:Literally the most comfortable bed and bedding I have ever slept on at a hotel. The owners were friendly and very accommodating. Excellent value!
Review 25:The owners were very nice and it was a short walk to the downtown activities and restaurants. It was also quiet and there was an area to enjoy the evening by the fire and view the ships passing.
Review 26:Quaint older style strip hotel but good location and price for the money. Staff was very helpful in telling us good places to eat and what to do in the area.
Review 27:It was within walking distance of the boats for the ferry rides and eating places and right along the business highway. Nice people and very accommodating. It is an older place but when traveling all we need is a clean place to sleep and it was all of that, would recommend this place to stay.
Review 28:OK, who caulked around the bathtub/shower, some drunk off the street? Come on, I had the prime room in the entire place and the quality of the upkeep is pitiful.
Review 29:Outdated TVs, only 3 somewhat flat pillows for two people, I thought there was a lake view but not from our rooms, it said queen rooms but didn't feel like it
Review 30:Staff was helpful and polite
Review 31:The room was light indoors day and night due to the horribly thin curtains. You could also hear through the walls and thin door. The door was not secure and could easilly be forced open.
Review 32:Location was good and the bed was comfortable.
Review 33:No phone, no ice, 1 vending machine didn't work, door did not secure felt unsafe. Was reminded at time of check in that there was no smoking in the room. As I was the one that booked it I knew the rules and am 52 years old!!! Would next time just pay extra 6 dollars as would have had all that and free breakfast.
Review 34:clean
Review 35:shower could use more water pressure or a low pressure shower head, hardly enough water pressure to rinse yourself off
Review 36:the room was up to date and well decorated and clean
Review 37:The location is great ;;the place was clean and the price was right .I had four wonderful days to relax , rest .and enjoy the parks . I truly cannot think of anything ! Thank you , again .If I am lucky ;I'll see you again...Next year ! Best wishes wishes . KGKastros
Review 38:No view from room, but it's just down the street A bit dark inside; but great for sleeping after a day of tourist activities
Review 39:Friendly, helpful new ownership Large, clean room Clean bathroom Close to the ferries and quaint downtown Reminds me of traveling with the folks as a kid and staying at local motels; but cleaner than they were. Free coffee and water bottles
Review 40:At night, the lights under the overhang are VERY bright and white curtains made 10pm look like full on sunlit day. We were up early for the Mackinac Bridge walk so sleep was needed. A room darkening curtain or less outside lighting is needed. Could use more pillows and maybe upgrade the bedding.
Review 41:Clean rooms, friendly staff, great location in St Ignace away from main part of town but close enough to walk to restaurants
Review 42:Young people right next door were loud and rude, not managements fault.Sadly, you can't fix stupid!
Review 43:Location was perfect. We were just around the block from the truck showgrounds and downtown
Review 44:The beds are not comfortable and the price was not that cheap considering what you can get, elsewhere for the same price. The owner/manager was only there to check us in and disappeared, never to be seen again.
Review 45:The rooms were imacculate. Every thing, including the bedspread was clean and fresh. They have a small micro & fridge in the room, along with a mounted TV. If you are looking for a road- trip stop that Gram and Gramp might have taken in the late 50's or early 60's - this is it. It serves the funtion and is clean.
Review 46:Very dated
Review 47:No off smells Clean Quiet Little bit of a view of water Easy to get into for me as a somewhat handicapped person Near the boardwalk Right price for a long roadtrip
Review 48:It was clean. The young man at check -in was exceptionally pleasant. We were just passing through and needed a place to stay. The Huron was more than adequate. I would definitely stay there again.
Review 49:Rooms need an update. Beds uncomfortable and bright lights right outside the window.
Review 50:Staff friendly and helpful. Location is great, within walking distance to ferry. Very clean.
Review 51:the bathroom had no way to plug in blow dryers. the bathroom door did close all the way. no coffee pot in room. the view of the water that they advertise is the best if you look out the bathroom window. It needs some updates.
Review 52:the workers were very nice. the price was good. very quite. I like small motels.
Review 53:There was no phone in the room so if I needed something I would have had to walk to the office. I feel it was over priced. While it had been cleaned (Lady said they had just acquired the place Memorial Day) it needed to be updated and had no amenities other than hot coffee in the morning. I would have expected more for the price. I suppose it could be because it's been a while since I've been traveling. I did stay in a Holiday Inn hotel for the 4th for one day for the same price! So it was less expensive than that, but again, that was a holiday too.
Review 54:I liked the location, nice view of Lake Huron, although no direct access to the lake. Would have been a front seat to the fireworks if we had gotten back to the hotel on time lol! Lady in the office was pleasant and friendly but only interacted with her once in my two day stay.
Review 55:Huron Inn is family owned and operated, and the new owners are friendly and gave great ideas for things to do in St. Ignace. The price is right and it gave what it promised: a clean, comfortable bed.
Review 56:For an older motel it was extremely clean and the Staff was very helpful. I travel to St Ignace once or twice a year and this is the first time I've stayed here. For my money I will definitely stay here again.
Review 57:Very comfortable bed, and beddings. Room and bathroom were clean. Air conditioning/fan system worked well and provided a nice noise for sleeping. Staff was super nice and even offered to make a fire for us outside. Cute picnic area overlooking the ferry's and water. Close to restaurants and downtown area. Complementary coffee and bottled water was a nice touch.
Review 58:Lines in parking lot need to be repainted so guests will properly park.
Review 59:Very comfortable place to stay, quiet, slept like a baby! Staff extremely nice and accommodating. Perfect location. Excellent value. No frills, but nice place to rest. Will definitely return!
Review 60:the owners are residents of St. Ignace and with their young sons and parents are doing a great job. Do not stay here if you are expecting more modern accommodations. WiFi is great, has a fridge and is clean. We ride bicycles and it was a great location. Fire pit in back; Saturday night fireworks. Darn nice.
Review 61:Bright lights in the parking lots, had to hang towels over the windows to help keep the room dark.
Review 62:Great location, close to most restaurants. The owner, John helped us at 6:30am! We lost the key to our bike lock and he brought out his handy dandy angle cutter. He saved our week long bike ride thru the UP! The rooms were very clean, the new owners are working hard to make the customers very comfortable. I would go back there again and again.
Review 63:Smelled like a urinal, Someone previous had used the carpet as a toilet and it was not cleaned. We arrived too late to find alternate accommodations. Slept with a towel over our face.
Review 64:An in-room coffeemaker would be helpful as office didn't offer coffee in check in area until almost 7 A.M. Room also needed additional lights and more electrical outlets.
Review 65:Owner was very helpful when it came to fixing problems with TV and cable service. It took a while, but finally got a different TV and cable box and then we could watch TV.
Review 66:Old facility. Needs many upgrades. No outlets in the room and bathroom. Too close to the Mackinaw ferry dock and their loud announcements.
Review 67:The staff was very nice. The price was right.
Review 68:There were quite a few bright lights to light the walkway around the rooms. Light is good, but the curtains were thin and it was kinda like the sun coming in at midnight. They eventually turned off sometime in the middle of the night, but we were awake until midnight and they were still on. Also our satellite TV wasn't working, but we couldn't be bothered to try to fix so it could have been something easy.
Review 69:The huron Inn is located right next to the ferries to the island and a easy walk to shops and restaurants. It's also easy to find, the staff was great, and had it not been raining on our visit, the fire pit would have been fun.
Review 70:Locks on door left a lot to be desired. Room had that"worn out" look.
Review 71:The location was good. Owners very friendly. Nice price. Comfortable bed. Clean but very dated furnishings.
Review 72:50's style decorating and fixtures
Review 73:Friendly staff
Review 74:Nothing
Review 75:Everything
Review 76:Price
Review 77:A little high price for the off-season.
Review 78:The bed was like sleeping on a board. Too stiff for me.
Review 79:10:00 a.m. checkout after a long drive getting there the day before.
Review 80:Morning coffee
Review 81:No view of the lake as they claimed. He's not comfortable
Review 82:Lady was helpful and had tea ready when promised in the morning.
Review 83:Staff very friendly, was in walking distance to everything
Review 84:Booking is over booking the queen rooms

Review 93:Not a thing. Very pleasant stay
Review 94:Within walking distance of Shepler Ferry & restaurant
Review 95:Beds in room twelve were very soft.
Review 96:Very nice check in staff, clean rooms, quite location but located close enough to town and casino.
Review 97:It offered no breakfast
Review 98:It was comfortable, clean and quiet.
Review 99:Not a bad experience at all.
Review 100:Smaller motel and 1 level.
Review 101:The owners were very nice.
Review 102:Fan e needed in bathroom.
Review 103:Requested late check-in, ...... they made sure they were available. Nice people.
Review 104:the outside temp. was about 10 degrees and the inside temp. was 57 degrees. It was cold.
Review 105:Location, personnel, atmosphere was great.
Review 106:See above re: smell. We had to wash all our clothes when we returned home to get rid of the smell.
Review 107:Location was nice.
Review 108:For a small family owned facility; this was a good one. Clean, very friendly and helpful owner. Walkable distance to ferry and restaurant.
Review 109:too much air spray, terrible scent
Review 110:Close to everything the casino down town and the island
Review 111:not a good choice of tv channels to watch, after being gone all day.
Review 112:Friendly staff..great price for the money. I loved the fire pit out back!
Review 113:Smell in room
Review 114:Staff

Review 117:Wifi on lower level was useless
Review 118:Friendly manager, low cost, clean, good view of fireworks on Sat night
