Reviews for Saguaro Lake Ranch

Review 1:Would have liked a kettle in the room for tea/coffee

Review 2:Away from it all ...no contact with the outside world...beautiful peaceful surroundings and outstanding tranquility

Review 3:Everything! Scenery, wildlife, friendly service, clean room. No technology in the room. Not even a clock! It was the most peaceful not we had on our vacation.

Review 4:Having to leave.

Review 5:Staff were accommodating, views spectacular and breakfast delicious! John was great at getting us started on activities that appealed to us including adult children. Kayaking, hiking, etc. John took great care of us!

Review 6:Absolutely nothing.

Review 7:Honestly for the price i was sceptical about how clean the place would be. I figured i would give it a shot since it is only one night. I was blown away. The staff and fellow guests were friendly. The rooms had a nice rustic (not dilapidated) feel to them. The room was clean. Obviously it is not a hilton but ot has everything you need. Watching the sunset was gorgious. My only regret is we should have brought a book or cards. Although they do have board games, books, and magazines available. They do have a game room, computer, and a tv in the common area for guests. But why sit inside when you have those surroundings.

Review 8:Free wifi is flaky due to satellite connection, especially if you are further away from the main lodge.

Review 9:Away from the city and close to nature. They have horse back riding, guided tours, river tubing, kayaking, and other activities which are optional.

Review 10:For a "Bed &Breakfast, the breakfast was poor... the room was not very quite, we could hear people walking up the path outside our room, and also the people next door talking, and walking, the floor squeaks very bad. We did not sleep well at all.

Review 11:The Hike was great as was the guide. The location was beautiful, and peaceful.

Review 12:Thought it would be right on the lake. No TV, coffee pot, or hair dryer in the cabin. Took a long time to get hot water in the shower.

Review 13:Very cute little cabin with a comfortable bed. Great staff and breakfast. Great swimming pool!

Review 14:No refrigerator in room. Pretty far away from supermarket. A bit overpriced, I thought.

Review 15:Gorgeous landscape. Very friendly staff. Great breakfasts. Woman alone feels totally safe here.

Review 16:Handles in shower were very hard to turn. Rm 15.

Review 17:The staff were all smiling, helpful, efficient. Breakfast wonderful. Quiet, beautiful views and grounds manicured. There is lots to do. Nicely maintained. History of the place interestingly related by staff. We appreciated that.

Review 18:The mountains were beautiful. The sunrises were beautiful. The breakfasts were delicious. The staff were the friendliest, most generous and all around delightful folks. We were there to shoot a few dance related videos and couldn't have had a better range of options. Everyone we met was gracious and helpful. I'm coming back with my entire family.

Review 39:I loved the view! and it is just minutes away from the lake. the river boat tour is awesome!!!

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:This is an incredibly beautiful and relaxing place. We went there to get away from it all and experience the desert on its own terms and found this place to be a real oasis. Birdwatching and plant viewing were our priorities and we were told of a 2 hour hike on a horse trail which was one of the best hikes we've ever done. Sadly we only had time to be there for one night and a day and a half so wish we could have stayed longer for sure. Also the breakfast and the helpful staff were top notch.

Review 42:the pool was cold because it had been turned off during a storm.

Review 43:we loved the quiet surroundings. People staying at the ranch were all there to get away from the city.

Review 44:We couldn't open a couple of the windows in our cabin to let the breeze in; but I am sure the staff would have fixed this if I had remembered to say something about it.

Review 45:Simple (no TV), sweet, and clean rooms; beautiful landscape; numerous activities for people of all ages; friendly and helpful staff; delicious breakfast; a great value.

Review 46:Staff were accommodating, friendly and helpful. The location and scenery are stunning. Quiet, peaceful and restful. Breakfast were terrific, especially out on the porch.

Review 47:Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful setting. Horseback riding guide Todd was knowledgeable and fun. Brett made the kayaking in Lake Saguaro easy and enjoyable. If you want a rustic setting with lots of opportunity for outdoor activities - this is the place.

Review 48:We truly loved the place, but found the price above what we'd normally pay for accommodations like this. We didn't mind no tv and no wifi and no decor updates in our room. We actually found it charming. However, the price does not reflect that.

Review 49:We loved everything. The atmosphere is amazing. Very comfortable. Very accommodating .Stunning scenery. Very relaxing.

Review 50:What did I like? Everything. The only thing I could possibly suggest would be a hair blow dryer and a magnifying mirror, but that is REALLY searching for a suggestion.

Review 51:Old ranch setting - Great location ,food and amazing people that staff this resort. Our cabin was build in the 1930's and had few updates. (A step back in time) We just loved this part of our trip. Do not forget to walk the grounds and foothills, great fun.

Review 52:I have no real dislikes. The ranch is advertised as rustic, and itdefinitely is that. If I'd had my druthers I would have preferred tohave a microwave and 'fridge in the cottage, but it was no realhardship not having them.

Review 53:The natural surroundings; privacy; historical aspects of the mainbuilding; breakfast

Review 54:Would have liked to check email, even if it was just to get access in the hall, but this was minor.

Review 55:Loved the little cabin and the natural surroundings. Felt like we were at camp. Breakfast was great and the staff were marvelous.

Review 56:EVERYTHING!!! The location is beautiful..The staff..especially Sean A'Lee, her husband John were very kind & helpful..Frank cooked us a wonderful breakfast each morning..The area is kept in immaculate condition..The rooms are comfortable..The scenery magnificent!!! Definitely have plans for a return trip someday..:-)

Review 57:could only stay one night

Review 58:the friendly greeting, the rustic atmosphere, the beautiful grounds ,the tubing on the river nearby, the mountain view, close enuff to airport

Review 59:We brought our 9 yr old with us, and he was too young to do kayakingand tubing per their liability insurance. They offer horsebackriding, but the stables close down for summer months. All of theseare understandable things, but just a little disappointing. We endedup spending a lot of time at the pool and river. We still had anawesome time.

Review 60:Quiet, scenic and has friendly staff who are there to make sure you havea great stay. Comfortable beds and no televisions was a welcome change. There is a beautiful river across the street and Saguaro lake is about1-2 miles away.

Review 61:no coffee pot for the evening or early morning, no clock in the room.

Review 62:everything. imagine the most beautiful scenery, quaint cabins, helpful and friendly staff and the best chef. the cabins are decorated in western style, the beds are comfy. i definitely would like to return

Review 63:I liked everything, but realize that this place is rustic. Smallish rooms, small bathrooms, not a place to take a luxury-lover.

Review 64:I loved this place, it's a real find. Wonderful staff and the common areas are charming, rustic and authentically retro. Fantastic breakfasts. Nice touches like hosting evening fires for roasting marshmallows under the stars, lending us cowboy hats for horseback riding, and they even had Easter eggs for my kids to dye the night before Easter! Surrounded by National Forest, lots of birds and wildlife around--even saw wild horses!

Review 65:The room looked like it needed a fresh coat of paint and the caulking around the tub needs replacing. The carpet in the room was stained. The room was very clean just needs a little freshening up.

Review 66:Love the location and the cabins. The food was well prepared and served. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Love the porch and the view.

Review 67:A short drive into town to get lunch or dinner however a small price topay for the relaxing solitude around the ranch.

Review 68:The staff was super friendly and bent overbackward to be as helpful aspossible. They set up a camp fire for us one night, provided a boxlunch so we could stay at the ranch all day and provided directions onhiking trails, boat and horseback tours. The location was rustic, quietand relaxing.
