Reviews for Virgin River Hotel and Casino

Review 1:Room wasny ready when promised . I was told i could check in aat 2 roim wasn't ready until after 4pm

Review 2:I have stayed here many times ist usually very good

Review 3:We liked the quality, quantity, and costs. It was like stepping out of our car into 1955.we will be back. Soon!! Thank you! Sherry& Gene

Review 4:The smoke is disgusting! We stayed in our room to avoid the smoke, therefore we weren't able to play the machines. I feel sorry for the employees that have to work in such poor breathing facilities.

Review 5:The location is excellent! The rooms are an excellent price and the pillows super!

Review 6:The room/building we stayed in is VERY outdated! Small wood chairs/table, tiny box TV sitting on a very small dresser. The shower head was a mister and the toilet wouldn't stop "running".

Review 7:Good location - close to the events we were attending.

Review 8:Everytime the heater turned on in the middle of the night, it sounded like a lawn mower was in the room. I kept turning the heat down to try to keep it from turning on so often, but it still happened every 15-30 minutes ALL night long.

Review 9:The room was clean and didn't smell like smoke.

Review 10:They put us in a smoking room right next to the casino. We only went up 1 flight of stairs. The room was very clean, and did not smell like stale cigarettes.

Review 11:The bird poop on the sidewalk that we had to walk through was gross and there was mold in the room. Building 4 wasn't our favourite.

Review 12:The beds are always comfortable. The location is great, the staff is friendly and helpful.

Review 13:Our dog is small and has a cone on his head because of a eye injury, so being upstairs was a nuisance. Neighbouring dog was out of control barking and jumping around until owners came back. Was terrible trying to sleep.

Review 14:Pet rooms are all vinyl flooring. The food specials are great value and good food.

Review 15:This property is so old and run down I am surprised anyone has given it an A rating. A/C-heater window mount did not work very well and was so loud you could not sleep or hear the TV over it. there were no blankets or bedspreads on the beds just sheets.

Review 16:Wish you has food service to rooms!!

Review 17:Loved you staff & cleanliness. The condition & appearance of the rooms are way above anything I've experienced rescently. The service was incredible!!!! Definately plan on coming back many times when in town. The only complaint is lack of food service to the rooms. Would be perfect of there was a covered walkway from casino to the rooms.

Review 18:Pet building is something out of the dark ages. Cold, no rugs of anykind, beds have Springs which creak with every move. Only stayed one night, eon"the return for hotel part

Review 19:The casino and restaurants. Bingo is always good. Gift shop very poor.

Review 20:Just a trivial thing but there weren't any plastic cups in my room. I had my travel mug with me and it was only one night so it wasn't a big deal.

Review 21:Good location, good and inexpensive food choices...coffee shop, buffet, etc. Nice large pet area.

Review 22:I would have liked a microwave and a fridge in our room. Overall it was a good room.

Review 23:I really liked the price. I also liked that the buildings were easy to get to and close together as we were with a group of about 40 staying in all three buildings.

Review 24:The front desk gave a guys checking it right after is with the same room number. Then we all arrived at the same room after checking in. Our neighbor's next door came back to their room at 3am and got into a huge screaming & fist fight and I called security and they did arrive really fast to take them to another location.

Review 25:The maids were trying to clean our room at around 9:30 and check out wasn't until 11. Also, I was told that the price would be 27.00, and when I got my bank statement it was over $40.00

Review 26:Rooms were clean, price wasn't too bad

Review 27:the bath linen had lipstick on them and the heater made noise all night. one of the male desk people rolled his eye's to another employee about a older lady that was having trouble finding her room.

Review 28:the cost

Review 29:beds were extremely hard, and there was no coffee pot in the room, TV was very old, picture was very fuzzy

Review 30:Place was clean and quiet, sufficient parking

Review 31:Te room had a very musty smell and the bathroom needed some attention. I went to three different pop machines that were out of order.

Review 32:The location of the facility was very good. Easy access of interstate 15.

Review 33:Can't believe you still allow smoking in your casino Airconditioner-heating system is totally antiquated Tub was awful needs replacing

Review 34:The food is exceptional and great prices

Review 35:Staff at check in was extremely rude and wouldn't answer questions when asked 3 times said didn't have time

Review 36:Clean room close to casino and had arcade for kids

Review 37:The rooms were cheap. And you got what you paid for. Cheap linens, pillows, towels. No full length mirror, no coffee pot, rough toilet paper. I will not stay there again, the $30 I saved was not worth it.

Review 38:The staff was unhelpful. I needed something from housekeeping and they said they would get on it. Two hours later, nothing, and I was tired so I called and canceled and went to bed.

Review 39:location

Review 40:The bed although nice was kind of hard/firm. But that would be my only complaint.

Review 41:The room was like a breath of fresh air. We were super tired and the room was very inviting. Love the white linen look.

Review 42:WiFi in our room didn't work and after making four calls about it, came to the conclusion that staff didn't seem to care. Still not working next morning. Also, One of the two beds in our room was in very, very bad condition - should definitely be thrown out. Not impressed and won't stay here again.

Review 43:Nothing.

Review 44:It so good, it's always busy...

Review 45:The employees are great. Awesome place to stay if you have pets. Great access no hotel lobby to go through to get to your room.

Review 46:Wish they would heat the pool! Asked for "adjoining rooms" and got rooms next door to each other, asked for extra towels for the kids to swim and were told no.

Review 47:Love the arcade and bowling alley for the kids, breakfast was great at the restaurant, clean, comfortable rooms.

Review 48:The shower head was damaged and didn't work well, making showers unpleasant. Told staff about it when we checked out. Pool isn't heated. Beds are really really hard!

Review 49:Great locale! Mesquite is beautiful! Great that they are pet friendly and even give the pet rooms hardwood floors for easy cleanup. Great price too.

Review 50:It is an inexpensive place to stay overnight on our way to AZ and fun to spend sometime in the casino! Food in restaurant is also inexpensive and plentiful!

Review 51:Had some issues when paying for my dinner at the restaurant as I had left my ID in the room rather than to carry my wallet! They had a fit over that and as a result I had to pay cash, and I will not ever use that restaurant again of which I'm quite sure the older lady is happy for...!

Review 52:The registration office is directly in casino, which is noisy. Fortunatelly the hotel itself is outside the casino and quiet.

Review 53:Clean room for a great price.

Review 54:The buffet like most is blah. The food is too salty for my taste.

Review 55:The room was comfortable and clean. Quiet as well except for the herd of elephants above me.LOL

Review 56:Put in the pet building, only one ice machine by the pool, no coffeemaker or ironing board in the room.

Review 57:The rooms were very nice & comfortable. Very large portions of food in the restaurant. Overall all a very nice place.

Review 58:Room was very nice, especially for the price, air conditioner was a little loud. Food in Cafe was excellent, (large portions, we had 5 different items, all very good) Kids loved the food, pool and arcade

Review 59:The cafe was horrible. The food was bad, but the service was worse. We were totally ignored and we didn't get our whole order. Never saw the server again. She didn't even drop the ticket.

Review 60:Relaxing weekend, at an affordable price.

Review 61:The only complaint was the a/c was very loud.

Review 62:Room was large and comfortable, clean and maids checked with us every day for cleaning. Enjoyed the hot tubk casino and restaurant.

Review 63:I'll go to the eco Lodge next time

Review 64:I've stayed in the past n the rooms were great. But this time I was totally disappointed. No carpet on the floors, the TV came from the 70's n the furniture came from the D.I. way over priced for what we got.

Review 65:long walk to the casino. uncomfortable bed. cheap towels. air conditioner buttons didn't work properly and I had to call maintenance. No luggage carts. they charge for coffee!! no senior menu

Review 66:it was cheap

Review 67:None!

Review 68:The beds were very comfortable and the rooms clean...also, new AC's that were quieter and worked. AND THE BUFFET WAS EXCELLENT!!! Finally a casino with a buffet and not a disgusting Denny's or IHOP!

Review 69:Warning signs giving prices of sheets, towels, pillows, etc. Basically a message that they expect their guests to steal - very unwelcoming.

Review 70:Clean and fine for a quick stop

Review 71:We requested a non smoking room but was placed in a smoking room. They came and sprayed for the smell, helped a little, for a couple of minutes.

Review 72:The staff and front desk were friendly, and fast in getting what we needed.Plus double checked back with us that housekeeing had been there, and everything was ok. Our room was clean and comfortable. The River Cafe was good and filling.

Review 73:Upon check in, I was told my reservation was cxl by booking. I was told that they can't do anything about it. Was told to call booking myself. Had to book for 2 night at a higher rate. Was not happy about that.

Review 74:The small old box TV had hit and miss sound. The lack of toiletries was disappointing. A wall dispenser and a small, flat round piece of soap doesn't give you a high rating.

Review 75:The price.

Review 76:The staff could be a little more friendly. I've had much friendlier people checking me out at Wal-Mart. The process felt like we were bothering the clerk who checked us in, complete with a sigh when we asked a question.

Review 77:The hotel was a great value. The town of Mesquite has plenty to do in addition to the casinos. The hotel property is huge, at least 6 buildings in addition to the casino. There is plenty of parking. We stopped here on the way to another destination so we didn't take advantage of the casino. The café restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable.

Review 78:Do not gamble or smoke. I did not like having to go into casino ti check in.

Review 79:Loved that there were vinyl floors. All hotels should remove their carpets. Liked that we got a first floor room.

Review 80:We spent two Saturdays a week apart both times very rude and check in after being in the car for 12 hours they lost our reservation the second time kept telling us to come back in 20 minutes until one of them was nice enough to give us our room and settle reservation at a later time this was our second stay our first stay a week earlier they charged my card over $400 so that my car payment bounced and when I call to see about the charges she says it happen to a lot of people sorry not much concerned about my finance problem

Review 81:The location was perfect Restaurant was decent price and decent food get better we liked that it had an arcade and pool for the children also

Review 82:Made reservation on line for 3 nights got there hotel only had us staying one night told them it was for 3 nights showed them our reservation then they tried to charge me more for our room

Review 83:We have a service dog. Was told we were not allowed to be on 3rd floor of bldg 3. Asked if any other bldg available. Was told no. Only after checking with Supvr were we allowed to have 3rd floor. So many dogs - VERY noisy. Upset my service dog as well as my husband didn't get much sleep. Will not be staying there again.

Review 84:Location of the property.

Review 85:No fridge or microwave in room was inconvenient. A little outdated in my opinion. Towels were tiny & super thin. Carpet was so dirty our feet were black. Of course a lot of smoke in casino area.

Review 86:Good deal. We had a lot of fun at the pool. My daughter lived the arcade & bowling. She raved about the hot dog cart..Restaurant had a good breakfast.

Review 87:Bed bed bed. Mattress in need of replacement several years ago. No comfortable chair in room. Need a club chair in room. Linen needs replacement. That would give room a refresher look after mattress is replaced. Who can shower with soap the size of a quarter?

Review 88:Location. Room was clean.

Review 89:The guy at the front desk gave us the wrong room number, it was very uncomfortable and unreasonable reaction to his fault.

Review 90:Nothing, the room was simple without value for money

Review 91:I didn't like that they didn't have an ice machine on both sides of the building. We had to walk all the way around to get ice , but it's not a big deal.

Review 92:I liked the close proximity to Zion, a grocery store and a gas station. I also liked the friendly staff and clean rooms. I only stayed one night so I didn't get to experience the casino or the food they provide.

Review 93:Not very clean, sheets seemed old and poor quality. Hard pillows. Poor/very little decor... One crooked medium picture, old small television

Review 94:Parking was good

Review 95:The casino area was smokey and depressing (mostly due to the type of people who hang out there), but that was to be expected. No refrigerator in the room.

Review 96:Clean and well maintained room, newer fixtures, etc. Nothing fancy, but much more pleasant than other budget rooms I've booked in the past. Functioning AC. We didn't get the buffet, but we did walk through, and it looked surprisingly good and fresh for the price. We got Starbucks the next morning, which was a huge convenience. I will definitely stay again on the way from LA to the national parks in Utah.

Review 97:When I told them that I had a reservation from booking.com at $39. They charged me the drop in rate of $59. I need to work that out with Booking.com.

Review 98:Location was convenient to travel between California and Utah.

Review 99:Air conditioner was very loud. Shower head installed too low for anyone over 5 feet tall.

Review 100:The price was right for a one night stay and we were that much closer to our final destination of Las Vegas.

Review 101:The room did not have a coffee pot....The sign listing the price for sheet, pillow cases if one should be stolen made us feel like they had a poor clientelle. No amenities in the room like coffee pot, microwave or fridge....Just a bare room.

Review 102:The hotel has signs all along the way, and it was just off the highway so easy to get to. As well, the breakfast at the casino was very good for 3.99.

Review 103:- Shower knob was too hard to turn - bathtub had a drainage issue

Review 104:-Large and comfortable room -WiFi was very fast - Breakfast was excellent (additional $6.99 charge)

Review 105:When booking, requested late check out the next day (one night stay). Was told I had to call in the morning to let morning staff know. Took 3 times calling (hung up on once, put on hold for over 5 mins both times the second two times) before talking with front desk.

Review 106:Good experience. Second time staying here.

Review 107:Restaurant Breakfast came so quick that I believe it was already prepared and then nuked. Eggs were OK, but sausage, bacon tough, hash browns REALLY brown, had to send back. .

Review 108:Hotel rooms are in several buildings, separated away from the Casino. Each group of buildings had an oasis for swimming, & 2 Jacuzzi. Low noise, comfortable rooms, short walk to casino. Casino and restaurant staff were great.

Review 109:As a mature single female alone I would have preferred a room in a more central area of the hotel. I was given a room overlooking the oversized parkng lot.

Review 110:The location and entertainment / food value for an overnight HWY stop was excellent. good place to rest up before or after the harrowing Virgin River gorge drive

Review 111:Having to go in the casino to check into the room!

Review 112:It's a basic, clean, comfortable, affordable room that happens to about half way between our home and southern California so a great location to rest for the night.

Review 113:The noisy old fashioned air conditioner

Review 114:This place was certainly no frills but a simple clean room with pretty comfortable beds. We liked it so much we stayed both going and returning on our road trip. On the return trip I pd $27 instead of $22 and got a flat screen tv with great reception. The first trip the tv was the big old kind with lousy reception. A GREAT bargain, we'd stay there again for the price. I've stayed at much worse ( even this trip) for over triple the price!

Review 115:Can't think of any. Perhaps the slot machines were not as "cooperative" as staffs, ha ha.

Review 116:Front Desk people were very pleasant, folksy like country folks, to start with. Facilities were very good. Food was good and reasonable in prices.

Review 117:the casino is disgustingly smokey and it is necessary to travel through it to get to any of the restaurants or other amenities. Therefore we only stayed in our room and did not use any other amenities.

Review 118:I could not (even with help) get the wifi to work. No coffee pot in room. I know the restraint is close but when you drag yourself our of bed to get ready no one wants to see that traipsing thru the casino to get coffee

Review 119:The room was great for the price. Clean and tidy

Review 120:Roaches Security accused husband of something he didn't do.

Review 121:Found German cockroaches Crawling Up wall. Staff tried to tell my husband he did something wrong when he didnt.

Review 122:The value. We had a great time and the price was great. Handicap room was perfect. Entire facility was handicap accessible. Restaurant had good food with good prices.

Review 123:The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Not enough towels in the room for 2 adults and 2 children. Pool closed too early for a summer Sat night.

Review 124:The cafe in the casino had great food at a reasonable price.

Review 125:the beds were really really stiff, and i feel that the picture i looked at online was not what the room looked like when we showed up. I was disappointed.

Review 126:I liked that there was more options in the casino than just gambling. We enjoyed bowling and arcade games.

Review 127:Needs remodeling & fix iceachines

Review 128:The value was good, & since I was there for 1 night, it was ok. But you had asked my preference & I said bottom floor, I got 3rd floor. Ice machine couldn't keep up with demand. It was very popular though as the pool was full

Review 129:I couldn't find my room,,, the numbers are small.. looking from my vehicle..

Review 130:Your restaurant.. Nice people and good food ! Overall enjoyed my stay.. I will be back..

Review 131:The bad smell of the smoking room

Review 132:I requested a nonsmoking pet friendly room. Upon arriving the nonsmoking rooms were not available. Very disappointed in the smelly smoking room...

Review 133:You certainly get what you pay for at this hotel and with the $49 rate, that isn't much. The walls and ceilings of our room seemed to be fairly thin and we could hear our rowdy neighbors for most of the night. No toiletries are provided, other than a few small bars of hand soap. The bed was comfy enough. The air conditioner was very loud when it kicked on in the middle of the night but we didn't dare turn it down or off since it was so hot outside.

Review 134:At face value, the price for this hotel was outstanding and the room was quite spacious. The hotel was easily accessible from the highway and was a welcome stop on the highway from Las Vegas. The $14.99 dinner buffet was great and the fact that children were either free or 1/2 off (depending on age) made it even more appealing. The breakfast specials were also wonderful and the food was good.

Review 135:I asked for a first floor room close to the casino when I made the reservation. I had hip surgery and can't get around well. I got a second floor room as far away from the casino as possible. The clerk told me that it was a pet friendly room, don't have a pet

Review 136:They should tell you at check in that they put a fee of $20 to cover possible losses. It is credited back.

Review 137:The price is great. We had a problem with the air conditioner and maintenance came quickly. It was over 100 degrees outside so good thing.
