Reviews for Summit Lodge

Review 1:The unit we stayed in was not being maintained, chipped off paint on the window frames, taps too tight to open and not closing properly, leaking. Old curtains. Our view was the unkempt backyard of their neighbours (private house). Our bed was extremely uncomfortable, worn out. The units look poorly maintained overall, tiles about to fall from the walls and mould on the bathroom tiles. The fridge is falling to pieces.

Review 2:The friendly and helpful staff.

Review 3:We booked the dormitory bunk bed it was uncomfortable to sleep to it and the linen were dirty full of dust and the dormitory rooms were undity we 've to clean it for ourselves bcos the carekeeper told us that the staff who was supposed to clean the rooms were off and my sister s who shared a chalet killed a scorpion inside the room it was so horribly and dangerous experience we feared for our lives and those of our children. In the dormitory rooms we had to buy new blankets in the nearby mall to make our stay comfortable and we removed all the dirty linen and blankets and placed it to dormitory B.

Review 4:Staff attitude was good and the breakfasts was good.

Review 5:It was winter when we were there and the room does not have heating...so it really was (too) cold in the room

Review 6:We stayed in a budget room, very basic and could do with a bit of freshing up. The kitchen facilities in the room are rather poor. Restaurant and breakfast was good and they have a nice bar. Friendly staff.

Review 7:The Bath was way too small,The rooms were too packed,Self catering room with no fridge,no cutlery,no pots or pans,no heater in the middle of winter. No proper parking for the vehicle and the breakfast...was the worst that I have had in years,i could make a better breakfast in a microwave. The place looks completely different to what the photos look like, even the pool was green. No value for money at all! total rip off!

Review 8:Only The Bar,They are completely different to what the rooms look like!

Review 9:No heat in the rondaval and Graskop is often cloudy and cold, as it is at a high elevation. A nice thick animal print blanket did keep us cozy at night.

Review 10:The staff are very helpful and accommodating and there is a bar and restaurant on site. Graskop is a nice town in a very pretty setting. Loved the shop in the town where they weave silk scarves.

Review 11:The rooms were stuffy with old smell of cigarrette. Looked like the were cleaned weeks ago but no recent checks done. Dead bugs around, spiders and webs all over that shud hv been dusted, had to kill a spider next to my child's bed. Instead of cleaning the next day, staff only made the beds and everthing left as it was. Horrible!

Review 12:Location is excellent, easy to find and by the roadside. About a km to town accessible. Mngt were excellent as they waited for us to arrive before they closed check in we arrived at 23:00 and were friendly and very understanding.

Review 13:The en-suit bathroom could have been more professionally completed. It was rustic and appeared to have been a do it yourself job.

Review 14:It is very easy and convenient to get to all the interesting places in The places to see were within easy access and so was a visit to the Kruger park. The staff were very help-full and a packed breakfast was available for any early starts.

Review 15:Not easy to find in the dark coming into Graskop from Hazyview. Room in need of an upgrade in terms of furnishing though bed ok. Bathroom very small and in need of new fittings. Shower looked very primitive and small, we didn't attempt to use it.

Review 16:Staff helpful. Breakfast and dinner both very good.

Review 17:the design of the room, wonderfull hut (like a hobbit hole) it was furnished and we got all we needed. amira was very helpfull and kind and helped us decide where should we go next (we had a dense fog and rain). great food (we didnt used the Facilities of the self caitring)

Review 18:There's no heating device in the little cabins and it was freezing.. No double bad- I had to put the two bads together so I can hug my wife at night...

Review 19:Nice cabins, good restaurant, cool pub and a beautiful place..

Review 20:Firstly we were put in a so called family room next to 6 workers that made noise the whole night. This is a contractor accommodation. The main bedroom ceiling had holes in it and you could see the trees above. The beds were disgusting and bedding old and outdated. The kettle was black inside and unusable. The television was just for show. There was rat droppings in the cupboards. This cost us R850 for the night, this was unacceptable. My husband is going to request a regrading for this establishment from the SA tourism council. We have taken photos of this room

Review 21:The toilet was leaking and even after reporting it nothing was done. The bedding was not changed. Lucky I had my own blankets.

Review 36:The carpet on the floor

Review 37:Friendly staff

Review 38:All was good

Review 39:Linens in the wooden cabin are old and dirty, no heating in the room and it wasn't aired out smelled very moldy. The tv in the room is very old, didn't work at all and no microwave, these items should not be listed under facilities.

Review 40:The location is good, friendly staff.

Review 41:we stayed in a wooden cabin.(wendy house) it was a prior booking not a walk in. the room smelled musty. I feel it should have been opened to air when you know that there are guests arriving.

Review 42:the kitchen was open for a late lunch from the menu.

Review 43:The floor mat is dirty and smells. Linen was wet and old. The place is so bad that i even requested a refund but they were reluctant. I wont advice any one to take his family there.

Review 44:Landscape very nice.

Review 45:family unit bathroom awful. Shower pointed up at wall- hard to get wet under it. kitchen in unit did not even have a tea towel or chux to wash up with. Noisy at night- cats or something big jumping on roof through night. I was scared. TV snowy reception. depressing looking unit!
