Reviews for Parkway Hotel Saint Louis
Review 1:They are not clean! We used the towels and every time they clean the room they didn't replace it with new once. Basically, they took the dirty once and put it back
Review 2:The parking. Yes, there is a garage, BUT there is NO access to the garage from inside the hotel... you have to walk out of the hotel and through the parking entrance and up to the level where you parked. Not convenient at all!!
Review 3:The greatest part of the hotel is access to Metrolink! It's just a short walk away... maybe 5 minutes.
Review 4:They pulled the breakfast food while many people were still eating and more were obviously still coming.
Review 5:Hotel had very nice and helpful staff. Free covered parking was also a bonus.
Review 6:Parking not connected to hotel, but still right next door.
Review 7:Very comfortable, quiet room. Short walk to many restaurants. Free popcorn and cookies in afternoon/evening were a nice bonus.
Review 8:Free bus to downtown could not get on for half a day through people block booking coz a tennis touniment going on so had to get train to down town did not feel safe for my wife
Review 9:Easy to locate from interstate
Review 10:The continental breakfast served was very commercial like, the eggs and sausage in particular. The seating area was very small, not enough tables to accommodate all guests. They also offered afternoon cookies in the lobby, but each time we passed by they were out.
Review 11:Loved that the location was very close to the medical school and Forest Park. The fitness center was clean and had everything I needed for my workouts.
Review 12:The girl at the front desk with the short reddish hair is amazing she totally deserves a raise. She helped us out way more than she needed to, finding us a room when we arrived way earlier than check in. Amazing service.
Review 13:That I didn't stay there before now
Review 14:It was great the room was clean staff was curtious breakfast was good and hot for the price it was really awesome thanks for having an available room at such a good price
Review 15:Need better directions to be posted for getting to parking garage from the street.
Review 16:Excellent location with appointments at Barnes Jewish Hospital or Washington University.
Review 17:We weren't crazy about the breakfast. The pastry was good but otherthan that, we didn't care for it.
Review 18:The convenience to the medical facility. The hotel is great and comfy. The staff is so friendly and will help you with anything you need.
Review 19:Breakfast was really limited. No options for someone who needs to be dairy free or simply wants eat healthy. Room was dark and looking into the hospital's parking no outside view.
Review 20:The hotel shuttle service was great. Dinner at the Italian restaurant on the Hill was a great recommendation.
Review 21:We've looked - we go to St Louis about once per month. We've nothing better for the price in the area we want to be in. Nice staff. Clean - just need to clean the elevators - everything else just fine.
Review 22:Pretty far from the big places to see while in St. Louis and it's definitely not walking distance. The breakfast was decent but the breakfast area had no room to accommodate all the guests.
Review 23:There's a metro stop right down the block which is really nice!
Review 24:The pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast was AWFUL. Both nights we were there we were woken up by a group of girls yelling in the hallway at 3am. I don't understand why staff or security didn't tell them to be quite when they were entering the building and going upstairs. I wouldn't stay there again.
Review 25:Would like to have had a bellman to help with luggage and would gladly have paid for such a service. With so many guest there with medical problems it would have been nice.
Review 26:The staff was very helpful and personable.
Review 27:The hotel was very busy so there was a wait for many breakfast items that ran out but the staff was very helpful.
Review 28:Nice, clean room with a comfortable bed.
Review 29:A bit pricey but you're getting a nice place to stay.
Review 30:Staff was friendly. Nice free "extras": hot cookies, coffee and popcorn, snacks, etc. Room very clean.
Review 31:Need bagels English muffin to bread bin and a choice of French toast or pancakes with a fried egg or omlett instead of scrambled every day
Review 32:Good location and staff.nice clean room x house keeping free water and snack in room nice soaps
Review 33:Breakfast was in the lobby, very busy with people coming and going in/out front doors. Our friends' room was next to the.gym and said their walls were psper thin due to amount of noise around which kept them awake
Review 34:Location was great and within walking distance of good restaurants and bars. Hotel was nice, staff friendly and helpful. Hot breakfast was a bonus.
Review 35:No swimming pool which we knew in advance. Scrambled eggs at breakfast need work. Muffins were great! Hot chocolate would be a great additional.
Review 36:We had reserved 2 king rooms and they changed us to two queen rooms at no additional charge. Front desk manager was very helpful. Location is excellent for people that like to walk - lots of restaurants nearby.
Review 37:The bed was creaky, and the most uncomfortable bed I had ever slept on, the room had peeling wall paper. The bathroom had a leaky faucet and the tub and shower is out dated and it had peeling paint in the bathroom. It had now microwave or fridge, for the price I would have expected more.
Review 38:It had pool tables, swimming pool, basketball court and work out room
Review 39:The parking structure was separated from the hotel, which meant dropping off luggage (there was no staff present to take my luggage so I left it unattended in the entryway), parking my car and then walking back in the rain. Also, since you can't get into the garage until you check in, and there was no room in the driveway, I had to park a half block away and walk back in the rain to check in, before going back to my car, dropping off luggage, parking in the structure, walking down the garage ramps to walk back in the rain, lugging my luggage upstairs since there were no carts or staff. (Did I mention I'm handicapped?) And because I arrived at the same time as some sort of high school/college conference, the lobby and two desk staff were overwhelmed by traveling students. The staff did their best to ignore the situation and bickered with each other. And the "business center"?? It's an old computer and printer in the entryway, which does not have Excel or Word. If I had the energy and ability, I would have changed hotels.
Review 40:The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was fairly close to my destination.
Review 41:My only complaint is all the Styrofoam at breakfast. Every morning was an environmental disaster. Seriously, get a dishwasher!
Review 42:My room was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Close to MetroLink. Across the street from a great place for lunch. Warm cookies. Tea round the clock.
Review 43:Was not a fan of the parking situation. Fire alarms went off at 1 am.
Review 44:The staff was friendly and very helpful. Enjoyed our stay at a nice hotel in a great location.
Review 45:A little dated bathroom
Review 46:Complimentary breakfast, high speed WiFi, excellent and friendly staff, great location close to Forest park, and minutes drive to downtown and entertainment, convenient inexpensive parking on site
Review 47:I called Saturday morning for clean towels and it took close to a hour and a half to get them i had to call the front desk a second time and still didn't get them i had to use the ones from the day before because i was on a time schedule...once i open the door to leave there was house keeping cleaning the room next to me...the lady notice me and said they told me you needed towel i told her just leave them on the sink..hell i was fully dressed and in the hall on my way to the elevator at that point...,so wasnt happy about that at all....other than that it was a ok stay not quite sure if i was go back or not
Review 48:Staff was ok...it was clean
Review 49:Very convient to the hospital, where my dad was for 17 days. The staff was great, the room was clean and comfortable. They even offered to charge my phone, because I forgot my wall charger!
Review 50:No soap in the bathroom, grout pulling away from the tub
Review 51:Superb location for WU medical school and very helpful staff. Well priced and comfortable rooms.
Review 52:There was not a thing I did not like!
Review 53:The staff was super-friendly and offered excellent advice on eateries in the area, etc. The overall ambiance was great!
Review 54:We arrived shortly before check-in time and were able to check in. Great start to our stay. Enjoyed being on top floor of hotel, although the view wasn't anything to write home about. Bed comfortable - according to my husband, who sometimes has aches & pains after a night away.
Review 55:Bedding was flimsy. Decor was outdated. Rooms and hallways looked very old and outdated. Funny smell
Review 56:Staff was friendly. Cookies and popcorn at night nice touch. Attachment to the hospital was super convienient. Applebee's downstairs and at Louis bread (panera bread) directly across the street very convienient.
Review 57:I didn't like the parking lot view from room. The beds weren't comfortable.
Review 58:I liked the lady at front desk taking time out to give us ideas where to go close to hotel.Very friendly.
Review 59:The only thing I could even remotely come close to saying something negative about is the elevator narrator. The elevators are super fast but her voice "third floor" sounds like Gilbert Godfrey! LOL Really this hotel is just wonderful! Going back for sure!
Review 60:The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and the bed was comfy! They offer free hot breakfast with waffles biscuits and gravy, omelets...the whole shebang. They have popcorn and cookies in the lobby.
Review 61:Only matters in artic conditions but the hotel only lacks and entrance from the parking garage in to the hotel.
Review 62:Super friendly staff, fast elevators, excellent breakfast, decent shower head and soft water. Free hot choc. Or coffee 24/7.
Review 63:Housekeeping was very weak in performing their duties. Management have issues they need to address here. Maybe supervisor inspections would make them more efficient.
Review 64:Most everything was good to excellent EXCEPT housekeeping.
Review 65:Heat wouldn't shut off at set temperature. Got hot in room, had to turn on air to cool room down. Had to pay for parking.
Review 66:Close to Barnes Jewish hospital. Everyone was very friendly and got a king size bed at reasonable price,
Review 67:Outside only access to parking garage.
Review 68:This hotel is connected to the Barnes Hospital by a walkway on the third floor making it very easy access. I would highly recommend for any needing to go to Barnes.
Review 69:There isn't enough words to express how much we enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff was wonderful....I mean everyone that we came across was wonderful. Demi works the front desk and she was so welcoming and helpful. My daughter was ill and I went down to the front to get her a sprite but they were out and she went out of her way to go to the staff lounge located in the basement to bring me up a sprite. They have a free shuttle to anywhere within a 5 mile radius, free breakfast, two waters and two snacks waiting for you in your room and the hotel connects to the hospital via a sky walk that you get to located on the 3rd floor. They have wonderful fresh baked cookies and popcorn in the evening and parking is only $5 a day! Just a wonderful place to stay.
Review 70:No complaints at all.
Review 71:Proximity to Barnes Hospital Quiet Barnes transportation picked us up at 5:30 am for my surgery. My husband did not need to get our belongings out until he saw me out of surgery.
Review 72:Plastic cutlery/ plates at breakfast. Difficult AC controls.
Review 73:Good location for transport links and (good) local restaurants. Nice big comfy bed. Free Cookies and Popcorn!
Review 74:Location and ease of getting to and out of hotel. For someone who hates to drive in a large city,I found getting to your hotel rather easy. Will seriously consider staying with you again in the future.
Review 75:Only two small complaints. The Wi-Fi connection in my room was barely usable. Also my room looked out directly into the parking garage. It really didn't matter though since I wasn't expecting a view.
Review 76:I stayed at this hotel while I was at a conference. The rate was comparable to several other hotels, but the Parkway has advantages: - free hot breakfast buffet - free Wi-Fi - free hot cookies and popcorn - free shuttle anywhere within 3 miles - Great location near a Metro stop, Forest Park and the restaurant district on Euclid I saved easily $50 in cab fare thanks to that free shuttle. I can't leave out the terrific staff. Every single person I dealt with at their front desk was friendly, cheerful and helpful. Several of them went out of their way to help me and find information for me. Next time I'm in St. Louis, I will be staying at the Parkway Hotel.
Review 77:The whole vibe of Parkway Hotel was great. We all loved the way the staff were very professional & helpful. The rooms were spacious & beds very comfortable.
Review 78:The surprise $50 charge for room.
Review 79:Room was nice and quiet. Breakfast was yummy and everyone on staff is friendly. Was charged more for room than the booking.com price. And a surprise $50 fee that will be refunded after 5-7 days.
Review 80:I didn't like that parking was an additional $5.00 a night. The parking garage is owned by the hospital next door. I think the hotel should include the parking fees into the amount for the room per night, instead of telling their customers once they get there about the additional cost.
Review 81:I enjoyed my stay. The room was spacious, beautiful bathroom, I loved the huge mirror, and the fact that Apple Bees restaurant was inside the hotel was definitely a plus.
Review 82:Staff was not helpful. The shuttle service was a major reason why we picked this hotel and once they were not on time and another time they failed to pick us up altogether
Review 83:Rooms are nice
Review 84:Could have updated styling View of the parking garage No safe
Review 85:Affordable Applebees Nice shower Convenient parking Close to the quaint dining area of town
Review 86:Parking charge of $5 day. Need more availability of luggage carts.
Review 87:Location! I had a full day of testing & dr appts. Spouse was able to stay in room til noon check out & then meet me. We were able to leave our car in the parking garage all day. Breakfast bar looked great, but I couldn't eat -darn! Applebee's is attached to hotel.
Review 88:Breakfast options were not healthy with few options. Mostly fatty and fried food. They could have yogurt, fresh fruits and/or bagels. Also, the number of soaps were limited to one for both bath and hand washing.
Review 89:The location is very convenient and close to everything .
Review 90:There is only one thing that we didn't like. The parking garage. You could not enter the hotel from the garage. Once parked, you had to walk through the garage to get to the front of the building to go inside. But that's the only thing I was not crazy about.
Review 91:My friend & I drove up from Springfield, Mo for the Joyce Meyer Women's Conference. This Hotel was 4 miles from the conference site. The room was very clean. The beds were excellent as were the pillows. A man who works at the front counter told us they were completely booked up the whole weekend. It was so quiet there. We never heard anyone above us walking around, never heard a toilet flush, never heard a door slam, nothing. It was the best sleep I had had in along time. Next time I go to St. Louis for any overnight stay I will book a room here again. We did not have the free breakfast, as we had chosen to sleep in instead.
Review 92:I was scheduled for surgery Thursday sept 18 and this hotel came in handy. I didnt have to stay the night at the hospital since we had reservations at parkway. Good pricing great breakfast and clean rooms.
Review 93:A great location near Central West End restaurants, shops, Forest Park, and the metro make this very nice hotel a real bargain--especially since parking is almost free and very easy. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and attentive, and the availability of popcorn is a plus.
Review 94:I wish we had a tub and not just a shower. After coming in from the game I was tired and wanted a bath to relax. But I had to settle for a shower.
Review 95:The staff was very helpful and the rooms were clean. The most comfortable beds we ever slept on in our lives. The hotel was close to the metro which took us directly to the game. It was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to everyone
Review 96:No TV channel guide in room toilet paper holder not easily reachable from toilet
Review 97:Location to Children's Hospital Convenience of Skywalk Checkout time - noon Parking Variety of breakfast items - eggs & sausage were okay Adjacent to Applebees
Review 98:Wify was terrible, almost useless. Had to use my smart phone for Internet, and then could only get a 3G signal.
Review 99:Staff and rooms were outstanding. Breakfast was OK. Nearby restaurants were great added value
Review 100:Parking was a bit confusing - would be better if guests were allowed direct access via the hotel not street
Review 101:Location Quiet Clean Nice Breakfast Local amenities close by Personable Staff
Review 102:Wish they had free WIFI in the rooms
Review 103:Location, lots or restaurants within walking distance. Close to SLU and Wash U. Staff was super friendly and the rooms and hallways were very clean. They let us check in early which was great
Review 104:Rolled in after nearly 13 hours on the road. Staff was exceptional and the room was out of this world. LOVED that there were complimentary robes! Made it feel like home! I only wish I would have had the time to stay longer. I will stay here exclusively whenever I'm in the area.
Review 105:Broken air conditioner repaired first night, but second night had to switch rooms in middle of night because it went out again. Bed wasn't very comfy as mattress was thin. No mirror in bedroom, only in the bathroom
Review 106:Location is good, staff is friendly, fridge in bedroom,
Review 107:Parking fee although it's only $5 per night. That should be included in room charge.
Review 108:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cookies and popcorn in lobby in the eve is very nice even tho we missed out on that.
Review 109:The breakfast area was in need of more seating capacity. I think they could easily add more tables and chairs in the morning to accommodate more people.
Review 110:We were in St. Louis for a medical consultation, and this hotel was in a perfect location for us. We only had to walk across the street to get to our appointment.
Review 111:The only thing I didn't like was that there was no entrance to the hotel through the parking garage. You had to walk all the way around to the front. But all in all it wasn't a huge problem.
Review 112:Loved the location of the hotel and the shuttle service. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Review 113:We only ate breakfast once as the quality of food was not very satisfactory.
Review 114:Location, staff, shuttle, accommodated our needs to have meds delivered to this location.
Review 115:Nothing.
Review 116:Every thing. Their shuttle service took us (and picked us up) to Forest Park several times. The attached Applebee's and the St. Louis Bread location across the street were convenient. Just a great location, a great staff, and a facility in the process of being renovated adds up to a great value.
Review 117:They were remodeling so the lobby was a mess, the only other complaint was the parking. There's a charge for it, yet it's just a garage behind the hotel and is not even connected to the hotel... it had a steep ramp up into the garage and didn't have handicapped parking.
Review 118:The room was clean and pretty spacious with a king bed. Central air not a window unit. Staff was useful and the was a shuttle to nearby attractions.
Review 119:Our room air conditioner seemed to not be in the best of shape...room seemed to oscillate between too warm and just right.
Review 120:We used the hotel as a base for supporting a loved one during an extended stay in Hospital. The Hotel is connected to the BJC Complex via an enclosed walkway and has on-site parking at very reasonable rates. A great location if you are at BJC for healthcare.
Review 121:The rooms and bathroom were not very well lit. Could use some overhead lighting
Review 122:We could take the train to the stadium which was very nice and close. There was an excellent variety of restaurants and bars across the street. We will be coming back in Oct to go to the zoo
Review 123:We wound up in a room with a "walk in shower" - that's code for handicapped room. There was not even a lip on the shower to keep the water from getting everywhere. Also the bathroom was painted a dark brown and there was a horrible florescent light over the vanity casting a nasty green glow - not optimal for applying make-up! Also, they didn't tell me that every time you enter the parking garage, you get charged, rather than charging by the day. Not cool!
Review 124:The location is great for the Central West End (walking distance) and Delmar Loop. It's about a 15 minute drive to the Arch and downtown. They have a free popcorn in lobby and fresh baked cookies every day around 4:30. It's also attached to an Applebee's The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and clean.
Review 125:Breakfast was always plenty and hot just wasn't tasty. Construction Applebee's- we only ate there once on a 5 day stay, food, service, and friendliness of staff were poor.
Review 126:Shuttle Friendly staff Snacks in lobby Nice area Close to restaurants Close to area attractions
Review 127:Very spacious rooms for a city hotel. Little extras in the lobby (fruit, popcorn, cookies). Excellent location from standpoint of attractiveness, public transport, medical and cultural attractions, restaurants.
Review 128:The food was AWFUL!!!!! Nothing had any taste to it, especially the gravy {tasted like water}. Overheard other guest talking about how bad the food was.
Review 129:The coffee and cereal was good.
Review 130:Wi-fi could be a bit erratic Breakfast area could have been better as only a few tables so had to sit on the settees
Review 131:Hotel was well located for bars and restaurants. We only stayed for 1 night but was exactly what we wanted. Restaurant was good and free snacks provided on the lobby
Review 132:The ease of getting around the city from the location and staff was very helpful on guiding us how to travel around the city. The shuttle was great way to go out to dinner.
Review 133:- Someone left their dog in a car overnight. We reported it twice. They didn't seem to care. - water pressure was weak.
Review 134:- Beautiful rooms/building. - lots of great food in walking distance.
Review 135:Not a picturesque location. My room window was about 20 feet from the parking garage. But all in all, a small detail.
Review 136:Helpful staff and free breakfast in a nice area of town.
