Reviews for Pear Tree Inn St. Louis Near Union Station

Review 1:I walked in around 11 at night and found a disgruntled customer staying that she was at the counter for about 10 minutes. We waited another 5 mins for the employee to come and help us. I realize that it was late at night but the last thing I wanted to come to after driving 12 hours was trying to locate someone to help.

Review 2:Breakfast was nice. There was an event going on while we were there and the staff did an amazing job of keeping up.

Review 3:Very nice place, everything was clean and set up nicely. We enjoyed the breakfast, however we did not participate in the snacks and drinks in the evening, as we were not on the property during that time.

Review 4:They call it a Drury Inn, but only provide corn chips and Salsa for Supper. Bah Humbug!!!!! They should remove the name of Drury inn from it. At at all other Drury Inns we got a full meal.

Review 5:The heater made a LOT of noise when it kicked on and off. Hard to sleep because of the heater noise.

Review 6:It was very close to Savvis Center. The free drinks and free snacks were nice.

Review 7:Smell of cold cigarette smoke in my room though it was clearly signed as a non smoker room.

Review 8:View of St. Louis from the top level, comfortable room, friendly staff

Review 9:The staff that was on the morning was not very friendly especially considering the customer service we received the night before

Review 10:Hotel was in a good location , great restaurant next door . Breakfast included and happy hour in the afternoons

Review 11:very little

Review 12:poor location as classed as 'down town location'. Full of Chavy people smoking in entrance way, breakfast area scruffy, noisy, with same chavy folk

Review 13:The parking lot and entrance look un kept. Needs a good power wash. Gum on concrete etc. Also the quality of all the amenities in the room are very low end. Cheap ratty towels, cheap lumpy pillows, and dispenser type shampoo etc. It reminded me of a truck stop.

Review 14:The staff was helpful and friendly

Review 15:I was put in a room by the elevator so it was a bit noisy. I requested a change, but the front desk told me I couldn't because of the type of room I was staying in (single queen). Apparently all of the single queen rooms are next to the elevator.

Review 16:The hotel was clean and comfortable. The free wifi worked great.

Review 17:Bathroom tub did not drain properly, as well as tub spout also did not work well either!! Everything else was satisfactory!!

Review 18:For most part the room was satisfactory!

Review 19:It was nice hotel and quite convenient, but it is somewhat expensive for families that might be looking for somewhere to stay while a loved is in the hospital.

Review 20:Check-in desk personnel were phenomenal, Nicole in particular. She was inviting, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Also, the price was very convenient for my two-day visit to Barnes Jewish Hospital.

Review 21:The location was perfect for access to the John Cochran Hospital, the hotel staff were charming and helpful, and views from the hotel were really beautiful. The adjacent food garden was also fun to explore and free parking can't be beat.

Review 22:I do not have any negative comments about St Louis, on the contrary I was so satisfied with the hospitality received in St Louis that I am planning to go back soon before Christmas times, I will stay again at the Pear tree Inn.

Review 23:Located near St Louis downtown, easy access to places by taxi cabs, outlets malls, restaurant, and St Louis zoo.

Review 24:The tub look dingy. It needs replaced. To old. N the stalls by the food area to small barely could move.

Review 25:The check in ladies I spoke with all three. Execellent. Very charming. Helpful with direction. They made you feel right at home. I travel quite a bit. They offered me the Best experience. They deserve around of applause for job well done.

Review 26:The customer service was excellent. The perks were free alcohol beverage each day of stay and free full breakfast, free popcorn. Easy in and out of hotel parking lot. Free parking a huge plus! Will stay again and again.

Review 27:There was a homeless shelter nearby and had a couple come in for breakfast. That didn't necessarily bother us....it was the track marks on there arms and the scabs on the face. Not what I care to see while eating.

Review 28:The FRIENDLIEST STAFF EVER!!!!!! The staff was so kind and made our stay so pleasant. Will visit again!

Review 29:For the quality of the hotel, I am always surprised by the quality of the towels & washcloths. We've encountered thicker ones at lower quality hotels. Also, the wifi didn't seem very strong in the room.

Review 30:We like to stay here when we come to see the Cardinals play. It's not too far to walk & we feel a better value than staying closer to downtown. We can always count on a hot breakfast & free parking.

Review 31:Staff was very helpfull, realy nice people. En plus, you get free popcorn and drinks in the afternoon, and beer and chips in the evening. Room was clean and nice. Could have been a bit closer to the city center, but it wasnt to far either. I enjoyed it.

Review 32:A front-desk mix-up put us in an already occupied room, after a trip down from the 9th floor (and back up again), I would've appreciated a more tangible apology than a quick "oh, sorry about that." A bigger, better breakfast selection would be nice, but it was adequate.

Review 33:Great location, walk to City Museum (a must do!), Cards' game, Arch, etc. Easy to find from interstate, and free parking garage on site. Happy hour with popcorn, beer/wine, and chips/salsa, and the soda/juice machine is always on. Fairly large pool for a hotel.

Review 34:The check-in process was slow, with a line winding all the way to the door. There are 2 elevators that run slow in this older building and are always crowded. We found other people's hair on the sheets and pillows--they had clearly not been changed prior to our arrival.

Review 35:Very close to the Peabody Opera House, but will most likely choose another hotel next time.

Review 36:Breakfast area could be bigger. I felt a bit cramped.

Review 37:Everyone working at the hotel were very helpful and always had a smile on their faces. The cleaning lady did a wonderful job with our room. I loved it!!

Review 38:Bathroom had lots of hair that should have been cleaned up. Breakfast was marginal, out of oatmeal.

Review 39:Free soft drinks at breakfast and afternoon were nice. Location is excellent for the price, free parking. I would stay here again.

Review 40:it was obvious that housekeeping came daily since we were given new towels. However, the bed was never re made...the covers were simply pulled up:/. I have never stayed in a hotel that does not clean your room well on a daily basis.

Review 41:We loved the free parking and the ability to come and go during our stay. Although we did not take advantage of the free drinks, the snacks, or the breakfast...that was a very nice addition.

Review 42:The pool was a bit on the chilly side

Review 43:Most friendly staff we have ever had at any hotel. Location was close to ballgame, zoo, science center ect. The restaurant attached offers shuttle to and from ballgames. Breakfast was more than expected and the free evening snacks and adult beverages was a nice bonus. Also loved the secure parking garage for extra security. We will stay at this hotel every time we go to St Louis from here on out

Review 44:The breakfast was worse than Days Inn. The rooms were ok and not very clean. The service of the folks was mediocre. Overall the quality does not measure upto the price of the room.

Review 45:Location

Review 46:Nothing

Review 47:Everything was wonderful. The room was so clean the breakfast was fantastic every one was wonderful. I can't say enough good things about our stay.

Review 48:no complaints. wish i would have stayed longer.

Review 49:staff from the time we checked in to eating continential breakfest till we left very friendly. location was great, free parking. i recomend this place to anyone looking

Review 50:The receptionist charged my card before I had left which was a bit annoying as I wanted to use a different one but it by no means ruined the stay. The only negative.

Review 51:Very friendly staff Clean and nice feel to the hotel Complimentary popcorn and drinks Comfy beds Free parking

Review 52:No microwave or fridge as advertised. Further than just one mile from stadium.

Review 53:Our first room had a soaking wet floor and the staff was very quick and friendly to move us and give us a credit on our rate.

Review 54:Everything was great. I have no complaints.

Review 55:I loved the evening happy hour with drinks and snacks. The service by the staff was impeccable. The management was present and truly cared about your stay. Our son loved the pool. I loved the restaurant next door for drinks that we could take to the pool. The room was comfortable and I loved how the soaps were offered to you in the bathroom. We will definitely return again if ever in SLouis!

Review 56:I wish that breakfast would have started a little earlier. We were not the only ones going to Barnes Hospital for early surgery and this hotel gives discounts for Barnes. A little earlier breakfast would have been nice.

Review 57:Great room and friendly and quick service!

Review 58:no towels or soap in room. GTM-long black hair on the bathroom floor. free drinks at happy hour are either bud light on draft or the cheapest, instant hang-over wine available. nice gesture but bring your own.

Review 59:bed was comfortable

Review 60:No wifi on 11 th floor. One elevator broke the entire time we were there, had no choice but to take elevator, wait 5 minutes to come then people didn't care if it was full they would keep piling in shoving me and young daughter to the back. Elevator would then take forever to reach floor because it would stop at every floor. Also for there free kick offs they would only give chips, pretzels, salsa and tortilla chips were other places give you much, much better ones. Also talked to several people that had stayed there before and they all said one elevator was always broke, because of this I don't think I would stay again. Rather stay at a low rise hotel where I could walk stairs if something like this happens.

Review 61:The rooms were nice, big bathrooms, comfortable beds, like how the mini fridge was tucked away in dresser. Free parking and Pepsi in the evenings. They had hot breakfast, eggs, biscuits, sausages, waffles, toast, muffins.

Review 62:There is a wide mix of clientele - families, couples, etc.. Ex - you might feel out of place dressed for an evening wedding reception while walking past someone talking loudly on their phone to their family, while another person yells down the hall asking someone to get her sweater, past damp kids coming from the pool. But really - it's a hotel, nice people overall.

Review 63:free parking - bed so comfy, nothing else needs to be said.

Review 64:The bathroom did not have a vent fan . The breakfast could have included more bread options like Brown Bread , Hard Boiled Eggs and more fresh fruits . 2 Lifts were not enough and sometimes we had to stand a longer time waiting for the list .

Review 65:The location was excellent . Beds are comfortable . Snacks in the evening are a surprise . Breakfast was good .Overall the stay was very pleasant .

Review 66:At the time we went the pool did not look very clean. There was also only one working elevator during memorial weekend.

Review 67:The room was very nice and clean. The staff was friendly. They also had free breakfast, snack time and a happy hour.

Review 68:Our stay was superb. We wanted to visit the arch, botanical gardens, oldchurches, trolly tour of the town etc. We came to Saint Louis by train. Our visit was great. At the train station, they helped us with ourluggage and took us by cart to the train to come home. We liked thelocation so we could get around in our rental car to see the sights. Onething, Pappy's bbq is not as good as in texas. But everything wasgreat at the Pear Tree Inn. Thanks for a wonderful vacation. We are 86and 76 and we wanted to come see the arch. We lucked out on our hotel. It was great.

Review 69:Our bathroom was on the small side compared with other hotels we stayed in and is probably due a makeover.

Review 70:Very friendly helpful staff. Good facilities and free secure parking.

Review 71:Our only complaint is we weren't able to take the shuttle to the Edward Jones dome for an event there because the shuttle was going to other events. We stayed here due to having a shuttle but ended up taking the metro.

Review 72:Room had a cigarette smoke smell even though it was a nonsmoking room. Staff sprayed a deodorizer and offered a different room. They were very responsive!

Review 73:Location and value! Our first stay at a Drury in St Louis and we will return.

Review 74:Room was clean but I wish windows could be opened in the room. Smelled a bit stale.

Review 75:Rooms were large and well equipped. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! Loved the shuttle back and forth to the Scotttrade center. We will stay again.

Review 76:Our room was the first room right by the elevator, the noise at night when trying to get to sleep wasn't a great experience. Also the water wasn't very hot on the first day but was better on the 2nd. They had free wifi, but had bad connectivity the last day and a half so you couldn't use it well at all.

Review 77:Free breakfast was nice. Also parking was free as well too. Staff was friendly and always catered when needed fresh towels and room tidied. Overall good experience with hotel and staff.

Review 78:Could not get the fan to stay on in the room to drown out noise so could hear the elevator dig off and on in the night. But we did not call to see if it was something we were doing wrong, we were to tired.

Review 79:Staff friendly and helpful, elevator was fast, room was clean and comfortable, overall nice hotel. shower was awesome. Nice view of the city. We were on the 7th floor.

Review 80:No commissary and not really any convenience stores within easy walking distance.

Review 81:Walking distance to Union Station, Scottrade Center and MetroLink. Hot breakfast and free parking.

Review 82:The coffee machine did not work. The architectural design of the bathroom was simply terrible! The view of the back side rooms (which was mine also) was poor.

Review 83:Most of the things were just as expected

Review 84:We stayed on the 10th floor and really appreciated the view. They really played it up by having one whole wall in the room as a window. That included the bathroom too which I think was kind of cool but others might think was strange. The whole thing had a curtain that could be closed of course.

Review 85:It was raining and temps were in the upper 30's. There was no place at all to smoke indoors.

Review 86:There was a nice little park outside the front entrance where we were allowed to smoke.

Review 87:No complaints :)

Review 88:We usually stay at the Drury, but decided to try the Pear Tree as it was a little less on the wallet. Staff was very helpful and so nice! First time in that area and staff answered all of our questions. Food was good and hotel was very clean. Although they didn't have the evening "meal" like the Drury, we had plans and would have missed it anyway. Overall a great place to stay!

Review 89:WENT TO RESTURANT AROUND 10 FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL.. BREAKFAST BAR WAS NOT STOCKED AND HAD TO WAIT FOR IT TO RESTOCKED. HAVING THE WAFFLE MAKER IN ONE ROOM AND THE REST IN THE OTHER WAS ODD. WOULD HAVE PERFERED ALL TOGETHER.

Review 90:CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN AREA AND WHAT WE WERE WANTNG TO DO

Review 91:The elevators were not working at the time of my visit so I had to either take the service elevator or walk the stairs which was not a big deal for me but it would be difficult for older customers.

Review 92:Staff at this particular location were very friendly and welcoming. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had many options and was very good!

Review 93:Nice hotel. Very friendly staff, nice rooms. Biggest issue was that there was only ONE working elevator for a hotel this size was VERY INCONVENIENT. One person in our group walks with two canes. It took us 4 elevators before we had enough room for two of us. Obviously we couldn't take the stairs being on the 11th floor

Review 94:the room was a bit outdated and noisy, there was a humming fridge in the room which was a bit annoying.

Review 95:the room was big and stuff was very friendly and helpful. free parking was included.

Review 96:I missed breakfast but that was my fault. Looked like it was a good one.

Review 97:This was a great facility for the price. The rooms were modern very clean. Front desk was extremely helpful. I felt like a VIP. Great restaurant and bar attached to the hotel. Shuttle service to and from the game. Couldn't be happier. Will definitely stay here again. Three free drink tickets.

Review 98:What we were upset about was only one elevator was working and my husband had just recently had his knee replaced so walking up or down the stairs was not an option and we had to wait 6 or 7 times before an elevator that stopped on our floor was not full to where we could get on

Review 99:Passenger elevators were not working. They did offer use of freight elevator. Our room was beside stairwell, so very noisy. Wi-fi spotty on 3rd floor.

Review 100:Great location, great staff. Very nice room.

Review 101:While the bed itself was comfortable, it felt a little unstable so they were very wobbly which isn't so great when you're sleeping with someone who does a lot of tossing and turning.

Review 102:The location couldn't have been better. Close to all major highways and minutes away from the best attractions STL has to offer. The staff was exceptional - check in took less than 2 minutes.

Review 103:The Hotel is fantastic! it has parking lot, really great breakfast, we really enjoyed the happy hour and the restaurant that is at the hotel. It is close to downtown and to other parts like the St. Louis Cathedral and T.S. Elliot House. We decided to stay an extra night because we really loved it.

Review 104:Our refrigerator did not have any temp controls and it froze everything we brought.

Review 105:Very convenient for the things we were in town to do...arch, Busch Stadium, zoo, shopping, and Rams game. LOVED that there was a shuttle to both of the games/stadiums. Appreciated the secure parking also.

Review 106:Pillows were lumpy. Bathroom does not have a fan which made room humid. We turned on the ac to did this. Food during happy hour was okay (chips, salsa, pretzels), nothing special.

Review 107:The free breakfast, popcorn, soda, and happy hour were great. Hotel wasclean and comfortable though the pillows could usd an upgrade (ours werelumpy). The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made you feel rightst home. The Syberg's restaurant next door has a shuttle to Buschstadium which we used each night. Very convenient. We wee walkingdistance from the City Museum and the Arch. Would highly recommend!

Review 108:Everything was pretty-much as advertised, except for reserving a single queen & instead ending up in a king somehow. No biggie there at no additional charge. Can't complain. Breakfast was nice. Would stay again.

Review 109:The wifi didn't work very well. Only one network for the whole hotel so it ran pretty slow. Only other complaint is that there are only 2 elevators and with the volume of guests there it would have been helpful to have more.

Review 110:The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Upon arrival, we noticed our sink was not draining very well at all. On our way out of the hotel for the day we told someone at the front desk about it. The problem was fixed by the time we got back. The hotel itself was very nice and better than I had thought given how inexpensive it was.

Review 111:We were in St. Louis for the first time to see the sights and attend a baseball game. The Pear Tree Inn was a convenient location and a reasonably priced shuttle was available from the attached restaurant there. Free parking in a garage was a available. One of our favorite perks was the afternoon offering of free drinks and snacks which included beer and wine. Our room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely visit again.

Review 112:Wi-Fi signal can use improvement.

Review 113:I am very pleased with the peartree. Very friendly staff, great customer service. Very comparable price per night, yet so much more to offer: free secured parking, free hot breakfast (buffet style, and my kids especially loved making their own waffle), decent sized pool, and free wi-fi (although my phone kept losing signal and getting kicked out). I'll definitely be returning on my next visit to St Louis.

Review 114:Try as i might, i cant think of one thing i disliked.

Review 115:My reservation was nowhere to be found when i arrived at the front desk. I was given a great room on the top floor with a great view anyway. The staff saved the day for me and my two grandchildren.

Review 116:I loved the location. We were about 5-10 minute drive from everywhere we wanted to go. The staff was great. They were nice. The free happy hour drinks were nice and free soda and popcorn was really surprising. Overall a good stay.

Review 117:Our view was not good at all but we were basically at the hotel just long enough to sleep and get up and go again.

Review 118:We were able to walk to Union Station, Arch, Bush Stadium and eveywhere in between.

Review 119:At 3:00 Am the people in the next room became extremely loud and started slamming doors, swearing and did not settle down. We called the front desk and they did come up and settled them down.

Review 120:We liked the fast response to the problem of the very noisy guests in the next room from ours. Thank you for that. And also for taking some money from our bill for the problem.

Review 121:The only thing I didn't like was the elevator service. There were 11 floors and only 2 elevators. During peak hours, it was a pretty long wait to get up to our room or down to the lobby.

Review 122:The staff was lovely and very helpful. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The swimming pool was a decent size and the kids loved it. The breakfast every morning was good and there was plenty of food. All in all a very nice stay and will stay again.

Review 123:The front desk staff was wonderful. Friendly, responsive if we needed something and were super helpful when we wanted suggestions on where to go for lunch or dinner. I also had an unfortunate incident and the manager was willing to do whatever she could to help make the situation right.

Review 124:The walls were thin, we could hear people partying on both sides of our room, and people were loud and partying in the hallways well past 1AM.

Review 125:The staff at the front desk was helpful and aware of the issues that bothered us and even provided a partial refund.

Review 126:Upon arrival dirty linens were in the floor of our room. The room was clean but the door was open and the linens left. We had to leave about 20 min. Later and had to put the dirty linens out in the hall so we could shut the door. Housekeeping arrived about that time to pick them up.

Review 127:Stayed here to attend the Cardinals ballgame. Staff was very helpful and friendly, room and hotel was clean, free parking, and free hot breakfast. All in all a very pleasant experience. Would stay here again.

Review 128:The vending machines and the bar restaurant closing early. Also the breakfast was a bit sub par compared to the quality of the hotel.

Review 129:staff, convenience to city. free beverages

Review 130:They had happy hour and it excellent the service excellent. Breakfast was excellent. My experience was excellent and I really got what I paid for. I will definitely be going back. Location and view excellent!

Review 131:Elevators seemed slow

Review 132:Good location close to the downtown attractions. Excellent breakfast and afternoon drinks and snacks a great bonus. Like the safe and secure parking.

Review 133:My room was right in front of the elevator, so it was a bit loud at times. And there was a hair in my bed!

Review 134:The staff was VERY friendly. It was a nice welcome to St. Louis. Hotel was easy to find. Breakfast was ok.
