Reviews for Drury Plaza St. Louis at the Arch
Review 1:Wish parking was included with the room.
Review 2:The staff I very helpful. The location is great (within walking distance from where we want to go). The extras you get are awesome. Great breakfast and drinks and buffet later afternoon. Would never stay anywhere else.
Review 3:My only bad experience on my trip had nothing to do with my experience at the Drury.Someone ran a stopsign and sideswiped my truck, and kept going.Minimal damage though.....
Review 4:The location was perfect. The view from my window, stunning!!! The staff was wonderful. When I return to St. Louis, I will most definitely be staying at the Drury again.
Review 5:Parking garage was small for my truck but managable.
Review 6:The veiw was amazing and the Beds were very comfortable, the entry way and lobby was amazing from the decore to the fountains with chairs to just relax in.the popcorn and soda time is an awsome idea along with the kickback with free drinks..this was by far the ABSOLUTE BEST HOTEL IV EVER STAYED AT!!
Review 7:Unsupervised children. I know that is not your fault. But kids running up and down hallways all night, and children by themselves in the pool area. I always felt like I was keeping my eyes on kids so they would stay safe. Also, even though I don't drink soda - can't understand turning the machine off for hours at a time.
Review 8:Friendliness of the staff. Especially Cheryl who worked in the food area. What a hard working friendly person! Great desk staff. Friendly management. We go to a Drury around every Christmas and rent a suite for the weekend. Then do local STL activities. This is probably our favorite Drury in the STL area.
Review 9:All good!!
Review 10:The rooms were clean, staff was extremely nice and loved the location since we were going to Ball Park Village for the evening! Loved the happy hour!
Review 11:The parking garage is only suitable to Volkswagen Beetles or smaller. I tried to park a full size SUV and didn't care for the experience.
Review 12:Lobby area is beautifully appointed and staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Hot breakfast was excellent.
Review 13:The only downfall was having to pay for parking, but the hotel even helped with this issue with a discounted parking pass to a garage on the next block.
Review 14:Free dinner, drinks and breakfast. And the food and drinks were great!
Review 15:The support columns were too close in the parking garage; but that could not be helped. Your broher also has a listing for another hotel on Goodman Rd. In Tennessee; found out the worst way that the information was wrong, it's in Mississippi. Wrong state.
Review 16:Pet friendly Closeness to major attractions. Fair pricing Nice breakfast Nice staff Cleanliness
Review 17:Wish check out could be at 12noon instead of 11am but they are willing to extend your stay.....
Review 18:Everything was great from check in to check out.........
Review 19:Loved the whole experience, first time at a Drury. The building was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The hot food in evening was a nice treat and the breakfast was great. Great location near several attractions.
Review 20:Have to pay for parking. The water in the pool and hot tub was so chlorinated, I got headache by staying near the pool for 5 minutes. My son's white swimwear was damaged by the chlorine and turned yellow.
Review 21:Location was great, staff was great and very helpful, room was very clean, there was free hot breakfast and free hot buffet and drinks b/w 5.30 and 7 pm which was a nice treat despite the food was not that great. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay there!
Review 22:The chair in the room was stained with dirt. Someone else's leftover food was in the refridgerator.
Review 23:Comfortable room. Easy to book, Fast Check -in. Nice view of the Arch.
Review 24:Very clean and comfortable room/bed. Was perfect location for my wife and I since we went to our first ever Blues and Rams games. Very close to both stadiums.
Review 25:We have stayed for less in just as nice places, think your rates are somewhat high Breakfast potatoes not so good
Review 26:Staff friendly and helpful Cleanliness Evening food
Review 27:We paid almost $700 for 3 nights 4 days. Granted there was a demand for rooms being that the event we were there for had almost 20,000 attendees, but that was a little outrageous. I travel ALOT and this was the most I've ever paid. I've stayed at resorts, where I could walk from my room to the beach for waaaaay less.
Review 28:I loved the venue. It was really pretty. I loved the decor and the statues of Louis, Clark and Sacajawea water display. I thought it was really cool how you had to use a key to get to the room floors. Lastly, the free food was a great idea. We were out most of the day and we hadnt eaten until we got back to the hotel. that was a huge plus
Review 29:I didn't like my cars being charged before I checked out. I wanted to use cash as my payment and was told it was charged the night before I check out
Review 30:I don't have anything I didn't like.
Review 31:I enjoyed the cleanliness and the friendly staff. They provided smiles and added comfort in my stay. The kitchen staff was the BEST!!!
Review 32:Noisy a/c; dusty old silk flowers; too soft mattress; curtain swags made it feel like it needed an update.
Review 33:Very friendly, very sociable (free cocktails and appetizers plus free breakfast).
Review 34:Not a bad experience just originally asked for a window view of outside or highest level possible I did get a window view of the hallway though..
Review 35:Beautiful hotel very clean and cozy room.
Review 36:The parking garage is really tight to maneuver in. The room carpet needs to be cleaned or replaced.
Review 37:Location and breakfast. The staff was pleasant and helpful.
Review 38:1. For the price, parking should be included. 2. Looking at the elevator from the room window. 3. Probably wouldn't stay again.
Review 39:The location to available dining was good
Review 40:No place to park a large 15 person van and initially the staff really didn't want to help me find a place for it. Also reserved 3 rooms at one time and our rooms were spread out on 3 different floors which was very disappointing.
Review 41:Rooms were a nice size. Liked the fridge, bathroom and decorations. The breakfast and lobby area was wonderful!
Review 42:The hotel was a perfect place to stay for a bachelorette party. We were within 5 minutes of everything we had planned! Even with the marathon in town, it never seemed crazy busy. I will definitely be back!
Review 43:Parking should be included for the high price per night. The carpet and chairs in the room were stained. No view.
Review 44:I liked the ease of check-in. Breakfast was very good; a lot of variety. I also enjoyed happy hour.
Review 45:Happy hour was a cesspit! It was all in for everyone making a glutten of themselves on everything they could because it was free. Saw people with 4 drinks lined up for themselves just because they were free.
Review 46:Great location Breakfast was fantastic
Review 47:Tried to check in at the advertised time of 3 pm and room was not ready until after 4 pm. I expect a reserved room to be available as agreed upon.
Review 48:Great location and helpful staff. Room was comfortable.
Review 49:I didn't realize I should unload the car at the front door. After parking, it was a bit uncomfortable trying to get our suitcases to our room. It would have helped to have a 2nd suitcase stand in the room (or closet) to use if needed. We needed it!!!
Review 50:It was really a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 51:Parking fee
Review 52:Instant hot water - love it. Upscale but not intimidating. Staff friendly and helpful. Chris Fox very personable Complimentary breakfast and dinner was a plus.
Review 53:Had to pay $16 to park my vehicle in the hotel's parking garage. Seems like this should be included in the price of the room.
Review 54:Free drinks and food.
Review 55:Being offered a room with no external window, only an internal one looking at the lifts (we were switched to another though, on request). Lack of porters at front of the building to assist with luggage. Off site parking.
Review 56:Location, close to Arch. Breakfast selection, served on proper crockery. Happy hour evening snacks, were excellent - no need for evening meal. Staff, very friendly and helpful.
Review 57:Family gave me a VISA gift card as a birthday present so I could attend a Cardinals game. Hotel would not accept the gift card
Review 58:Close to ballpark. Excellent service from staff
Review 59:Had a 2 night stopover on a road trip from New Orleans to Chicago . Location of hotel great . Near the Arch and Old Courthouse.Managers reception and breakfast both great .
Review 60:Very nice place, everyone was nice and polite. We booked on line and got a really good deal.We would definitely recommend it to everyone and would stay again
Review 61:Having to pay for parking was a shock and wrong to have to do considering your already paying to stay there.
Review 62:I liked that the hotel felt like a expensive hotel but didn't cost like one
Review 63:It was difficult to keep the room comfortable. It was hot then cold, hot then cold. The parking situation was was less than ideal because we were in an SUV - the spots were small and next to concrete poles, and if your vehicle went over the line you would be charged for two spots. We barely sqeezed in without damaging our vehicle.
Review 64:The room was extremely clean and we had a wonderful view of the Gateway Arch which was so nice of the receptionist to do knowing we were first time visitors in St. Louis. Also the breakfast offered with the room was just as good as you would get at a buffet at a restaurant.
Review 65:No starbucks downstairs. I had to go across the street. :(
Review 66:The staff was incredibly friendly, food was great, location was great. When we got there our suite was too small for 4 people, we asked for a different room and they accommodated us with no problems. We spent almost every evening at the pool. One evening one of the hot tubs was not working. We informed the staff and within 15 minutes they were there and got it working. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to St. Louis.
Review 67:I was discriminated against by hotel management. I was followed by security and shook down for my room key because I was a black man who "looked suspicious". I don't appreciate this and will not tolerate this type of treatment. I am a paying customer just like the rest of the guests there who were not frisked for their respective room keys.
Review 68:The facilities was very clean an up to date. Very good location surrounded by numerous city attractions.
Review 69:Not a thing.
Review 70:The staff was exceptionally friendly. Traci checked us in and had a big smile and engaging personality. Almost every staff person was the same. Very quiet room. Breakfast and happy hour were more than expected. Security obviously was important to the hotel.
Review 71:Our room was on the "inside", meaning the window overlooked an open area to the elevators. We would've preferred to have an "outside" view. This was never communicated to us, so it was a surprise when we arrived at the room. Not a deal breaker, but for future stays, we would request an "outside" room.
Review 72:Close proximity to Busch Stadium and the Arch. Friendly staff and clean/easily accessible accommodations.
Review 73:My husband came for a transplant reunion. Transplant patients can not eat from Buffett which was Drurys only type of meals.
Review 74:The drinks and snacks were great. People very friendly
Review 75:We had a 12 passenger van and it was difficult to park it in the basement of the parking garage. It would have been helpful to have a couple of parking places marked off for oversized vehicles. We were the only oversized van, the rest of the vehicles were cars.
Review 76:My boyfriend and each have three kids and allowed them to bring two friends, for a total of 10 people. We requested adjoining rooms. The staff made sure that we got the adjoining rooms we requested. This was really important to us. All of the staff members were so friendly and helpful. Best customer service I've experienced in a long, long time. We will definately recommend this hotel to our friends/family AND we will be back!!
Review 77:we found a used bath towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. made us wonder how clean the room really was. parking was confusing if you had never stayed at the Drury.
Review 78:Great hotel, staff so friendly and helpful. The extras included were a real bonus - breakfast which had a fantastic choice available, the 5.30 Kickback with free drinks and lots to eat, and the free soft drinks and popcorn available from 3pm. Lovely big lobby with lots of seating, great size bedroom. But the best thing about the Drury Plaza was the staff, all so helpful and that included Duty Managers who were always about. Would definitely go again!
Review 79:The room were clean but decor is a little outdated. Unless that is the theme of the hotel.
Review 80:The staff was extremely friendly and they made us feel extremely welcome. We truly appreciate it! Thank you!
Review 81:I loved everything about this hotel. The staff was awesome and extremely helpful. This kickback happy hour was such an awesome add on they offer, making it such a good deal for your money.
Review 82:Location - Close to the arch; In the heart of downtown; Close to Cardinals Stadium. Staff was attentive and very friendly; Breakfast had a lot of options and, most importantly, it was free.
Review 83:There was only one elevator to service our section of the hotel. At one time we waited over 5 minutes for it to come. We also had to pay $14 for parking which was a block away. We did not know this in advance and might have selected differently if we had.
Review 84:Great location.
Review 85:The front desk did not make it clear that I needed a special card to use the garage.
Review 86:I loved the value and the location. Every staff member I saw greeted us with a smile and a 'hello'.
Review 87:Bedding and pillows were not to my liking and the facility only carried Pepsi products not my favorite at all.
Review 88:Location was great close to all downtown areas and steak house in the hotel was amazing.
Review 89:The entire experience was awesome - from the suggestions for sightseeing at the front desk to the Kickback hour to the breakfast in the morning. The location was perfect for visiting the Gateway Arch and going to a Cardinals game.
Review 90:Staff told us that there was availability to soda, coffee and popcorn 24/7. This was not the case and as we were not able to receive the evening food selections were quite dissapointed when we came back to the lobby area for some popcorn, drink and soda pop.
Review 91:Location to our sight seeing plans was wonderful
Review 92:No bad experience but street is so cluttered with cars when checking in
Review 93:Always friendly people and courteous. Love location and ease in getting there.
Review 94:I loved the location and the fact that they offered a hot breakfast and a happy hour everyday! The happy hour had hot food and 3 free alcoholic beverages per adult each night of your stay. They also offered soft drinks and popcorn 3-10pm daily!
Review 95:I had to pay to park, I shouldn't had to pay to park the hotel should have paid it, it's not mine fault the hotel was full.
Review 96:Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good.
Review 97:Hotel has no shuttle. Because of the large number of people at the Kickback and the breakfast, the lobby was usually crowded and rather noisy. Breakfast limited choice (sausage patty, egg (hard boil or scrambled), cornflakes, fruit, yoghurt, potatoes, fruit juice, coffee). Kickback limited choice as well (but it is okay considering it is complimentary). No password for WIFI - less secure. Swimming pool - smell of chorine can be smelt a mile away. Eyes hurt a little as pool was in enclosed space. Small pool - with over 30 kids inside at any time in the afternoon- evening (school break?) impossible to swim. Rough play with adults / kids. No security guard. Water looked murky. No shower on site- sign advised people to shower beforehand (?in room) but I doubt anyone did that except us... Lost my son's sweater at the kickback. Asked lobby for it, but did not manage to get the sweater back.
Review 98:Pretty design of hotel. The hotel was 15 min walk from the Stadium Metro Station (if you are coming from the airport), 5 min walk to the Arch, and near to BallPark Village (3min) where we could get up the Budweiser Trolley for a complimentary visit to the Brewery with drinks. 5 min walk to Bursch Stadium. 30min walk to the Farmer's Market at Soulard and 1 hour walk to the Cheerokee Antique Row (not much food there and many shops shut Monday to Wed- most are open Thursday - Sunday). The Cardinals teams were out of town this week so there was not so many fans around town. Friendly staff.
Review 99:The pool was very over crowded and filled with children without supervision. Not the hotels problem except you could not use the pool if you just wanted a swim to relax. We left the area immediately.
Review 100:The location was excellent and service was very good. The buffet at happy hour was nice.
Review 101:Not enough healthier choices. The evening "kickback" was limited to starchy foods and carbohydrates. No seafood or order other healthier options.
Review 102:Food was plentiful.
Review 103:Only downfall was dirty elevator(food on floor) both days. But it wasn't in my room so really not a big deal.
Review 104:Location to game, secure parking, quiet, staff was amazing! I've never been greeted so often.
Review 105:Breakfast was SO overcrowded. We gave up and ate elsewhere. Need more staff/larger breakfast area. The parking garage is a block away AND you have to pay to park. The cost of a one night stay for a regular room was a little pricey.
Review 106:The staff was very friendly; Conveniently located. A very safe walk to and from the ballpark. Comfy bed, we had an "inside" view room, very quiet.
Review 107:We were given room 884 which had one very small window tucked back into a corner. The room was extremely dark and there was no view whatsoever. It seemed like maybe that part of the hotel was an addition given the very odd location and size of the window.
Review 108:The location is excellent. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is a huge bonus. We were on the floor with the pool and still the floor was very quiet.
Review 109:Great location for us. Friendly helpful staff. Parking and checkin process very efficient and easy. Good breakfast and nice "kickback" time in the afternoon.
Review 110:$16/day parking. And wasn't told about this until I confirmed my total before leaving. They did refund me one of the two days. But I wonder if that isn't part of their scheme.
Review 111:Everyone went out of their way toake sure my kids were having a great time. And the location was superb!
Review 112:The only thing that I can suggest would be to have Valet parking available as the garage is very confined.
Review 113:The check in was fast. The room was very comfortable with a good view of the Gateway Arch and Mississippi River. The night happy hour food and the breakfast were both exceptional. Every member of the staff was very helpful and really friendly
Review 114:Every staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. Our location to the Arch, Old Courthouse, and the Arch was perfect. All completely walkable locations from the hotel. The hot breakfast and evening food offerings was a super bonus!
Review 115:Paying for parking and then had to park a block away on the 8th level.
Review 116:Friendly people at Check in, and when checking out. Enjoyed talking with housekeeping, very personable staff
Review 117:Having to unload our luggage @ the hotel then park @ a parking garage in a different location.
Review 118:The food & drinks that are included w/ your stay. Was a savings of about $50 for us.
Review 119:Not a bad experience, just a lesson learned. We were in an inside room; remember to ask for an outside room if you are one who needs to see the outside, as I do. The mattress is our room was too soft. Old and needed replaced and updated.
Review 120:Staff is very friendly and attentive to the guests. Breakfast was great. Free drinks in the evening was appreciated, but would like to have seen a little less "starch" served as evening kick-back, but I realize it is easier to fix the things that would feed a large quantity of guests in a short amount of time. The location of this hotel is perfect for a game or catching the metro if you have other places you would like to go but do not want to take the car.
Review 121:The elevator to our room, 254, was not working and at first the doors to stairs from indoor parking garage were locked. My husband had to be taken up a couple of floors, down some hallways and finally down some other steps to get back to our room. That was with hotel staff, I cant imagine what it would have been like if there had been a fire. We paid about $250.00 ( incl tax) this may not seem like very much to some, but it was to us, and no elevator ,is not acceptable:( That would keep me from recommending this hotel because apparently this same elevator wasn't working the day before we arrived either. Fix it or replace it for goodness sake!!
Review 122:Location to baseball stadium
Review 123:Large clean, luxurious room, amazing view of the Gateway Arch. Loved the extra value represented by the included drinks and food in the early evening and generous breakfast the next morning. Brilliant city centre location, smart & stylish feel.
Review 124:Room satisfactory. Bed comfortable but room a little dated.
Review 125:Location excellent. Walk to Arch/Busch Stadium. Afternoon food/drinks and breakfast very good.
Review 126:We got charged twice on our debt card which made us over drawn for 24hrsand was unable to use card to buy gas, had cash, thank goodness!
Review 127:Best location. Best food for breakfast and dinner, its free. The coldestroom ever! Very quiet rooms! Walking distance to Arch, game, museums,grocery/alcohol store, restaurants, Star Bucks. Ahhh city life!
Review 128:The breakfast was nothing special. On par with most hotel breakfast.
Review 129:Very nice. The kickback from 5:30 to 7:00 is a great way to reward customers. Free drinks and food can't go wrong.
Review 130:Room decorations could use a little updating. Parking was expensive, but I assume this is going to be the case at any downtown St. Louis hotel.
Review 131:Very close to the Gateway Arch and baseball stadium. Staff and other guests were incredibly friendly when we stayed in late May. Free popcorn/soda in afternoons/evenings and three free happy hour drinks for adults. Awesome breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.
Review 132:the only complaint that I have is that the elevators were terribly slow. There were 3 elevators and one was not working which caused for lots of congestion with the elevators!
Review 133:Always was a 20-30 minute wait for elevators. They need more elevators and ones that work. Plus, if was annoying to continuously having to show room key entering building. I had two small kids and hands full every time. Very inconvenient. Parking is not on site either which is very inconvenient.
Review 134:Hotel was a block away from ballpark
