Reviews for The Broadmoor
Review 1:Our bed could have been a little better but was better than most.
Review 2:Most everything. We ate and drank at nearly every restaurant. Enjoyed the spa. All staff was great, helpful and friendly.
Review 3:The ONLY downside was having to go to many different buildings. It was so cold!
Review 4:Just about everything. Everyone was so pleasant, helpful and made us feel so welcome and valued.
Review 5:I was disappointed this year that the decorations were not as in years past, we really like the different gingerbread houses displayed but this year there was only 1.
Review 6:We spend the night during the holidays. The kids always enjoy the lights and festivities.
Review 7:the valet was a hassle for us to get our stuff.
Review 8:everything was AWESOME!!! the food, the bedroom, the coffee for breakfast, the arts, the ginger bread house
Review 9:Couldn't get Sunday breakfast buffet reservations. They were already booked.
Review 10:The staff was outstanding and efficient. We had no stress and everything was taken care of promptly. Very efficient check in and check out. Directions were clear and helpful
Review 11:Perhaps I missed a "no notification" box, but my surprise for my wife was spoiled when a confirmation stay letter came in the mail.
Review 12:Staff was very friendly. Rooms, hallways, facilities impressively clean.
Review 13:Was not overly impressed with La Taverna or Golden Bee. Décor was dated and seats were uncomfortable. Food was unimpressive.
Review 14:Beautiful resort! The staff was extremely friendly.
Review 15:Left something I needed in my car and the doorman sent a car parker to fetch it. An hour went by and I called down and was referred to a customer service agent who informed me my package was put into another car that had since left the premises and they were trying to track it down. To the Broadmor's credit, a service agent arrive another hour later with my package and profuse apologies. Lesson: sometimes too much service (parking your car for you) gets in the way of a desired result.
Review 16:Every staff member we ran into greeted us with a pleasant "hello". We saw a beautiful thunderstorm!
Review 17:Small beds. 2 Full Size Beds. With three of us, the upgrade to a suite seems a bit price prohibitive, but the two full size beds don't make for a comfortable nights sleep (my wife and I in one, versus our normal king).
Review 18:Amazingly beautiful property. Incredible staff who go out of their way to help, smile, and provide a level of service unparalleled in my experience (and I travel 100 days a year).
Review 19:I wish they had optional self parking, as our kids often left something in the car and didn't want to inconvenience the valet to get the car for something for the kids when we were not planning in leaving. Also self serve ice machines would be a plus when you just want to quickly make a drink in your room.
Review 20:Love the property and service! Pool area is fantastic, just gorgeous grounds.
Review 21:How can you have a bad experience at the Broadmoor
Review 22:Everything perfect. Stayed in West Tower after many years in South Tower. Actually like the rooms better. Our clients will never forget their Broadmoor experience hosted by our firm.
Review 23:Read above. WiFi is not free as it was "included" in Resort fee which I think is ridiculous!! Just tell me what the room charge is unless Resort Fee is optional. Don't tell me you upgraded my room when, in fact, you didn't. I requested 2 Queen beds not a King. If a better room with 2 Queens...that's an upgrade. Jeremy did get that changed for us. May be trivial but I could swear bronze sculptures above each bar haven't been dusted in some time. Maybe just the way light hit it? Sure they're hard to get to and I'm always noticing if things are dusty.
Review 24:Friendliness of employees. ESP Choy? who helped us out in #204. We were told twice someone would bring us a mini bar key. On the second day I finally called housekeeping and Choy delivered and extremely nice. John who would get my car each day. Jeremy who gave us great tour of Broadmoor on arrival. All employees were beyond helpful and friendly. Angel escorted us to car museum and man a museum very informative. Sorry, didn't get his name.
Review 25:We encountered one, distant to the point of being rude, server in the outdoor bar just after we arrived. However the rest of the staff we met more than made up for this first negative impression!
Review 26:Great amenities, lovely setting, luxurious hotel
Review 27:Overpriced for quality at breakfast. Also, our experience at LaTaverne for dinner was horrible!!
Review 28:Customer service and staff was outstanding! Room and comfort of bed was excellent.
Review 29:Our booking guaranteed a west wing stay, We were given a rooms at North building. Room very small compared to west wing. No balcony. No shower. Old dirty looking carpets n furniture. No complimentary slippers. Had to keep shows on walking in room and bathroom. Room was not attended to during evening, and bed not turned etc. A/C noisy. In summary, we were guaranteed something and were jibbed. Bad Experience.
Review 30:Bad experience with company doing zip lining....scared off 2 people who did not participate...guides were too casual about safety
Review 31:the atmosphere and friendliness of staff
Review 32:I hate being required to valet my car. No hotel takes any responsibility for damage or loss a vehicle while under their care. Give me a parking lot, I'll retain my keys and take my chances.
Review 33:Spectacular room in the original building. Paint, upholstery, marble - everything was crisp and pristine without a ragged edge anywhere. Somehow, most of the staff seemed to always know my name.
Review 34:The boutique outside the front of the Broadmore offered beautiful dresses and skirts but nothing beyond a size 10. We were told that the owner only purchased items in small sizes, I am tall and wear a 12 to 14 misses. There was nothing for me to buy, but tops or accessories. Why the limitations?
Review 35:She took care of a situation involving the movie we were watching in the theatre room. She went way beyond the call of duty to make things right and make us feel valued as guest,
Review 36:Ran late to my spa appointment, was beyond my control, had no phone to call. Did not like getting charged for spa services that I did not receive.
Review 37:The staff is excellent and friendly. Most went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable.
Review 38:Property is so popular that one has to book dining choices as far in advance as possible. Unfortunately, we didn't. Our fault but made things a bit more difficult.
Review 39:Property is lovely, staff is outstanding, comfort level is great.
Review 40:There is nothing bad about the Broodmoor.
Review 41:The view over the lake with swans gliding across the water heralded by geese honking at people on the bridge.
Review 42:I was overbooked. We had 2 reservations under my name. One was for 1night and the other was for 2nights. Luckily I had my confirmation to prove my booking. Not sure how that could have happened in the first place. I called the hotel directly to confirm my reservation and they could not find it. At that time the hotel was booked so I went online to make a reservation that same night and found a room thru 3rd party. I was disappointed that my initial reservation was lost yet found upon my check in and I almost had to pay the balance.
Review 43:Getting off elevator on my floor and had to deal with a dog jumping around. Don't care much for staying somewhere thinking my room had a dog in it prior to my visit.
Review 44:Staff very attentive and polite.
Review 45:The shower was way too small, very unpleasant. The extra costs and fees.
Review 46:Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. Food a bit expensive. Shower was too small. Made for an unpleasant stay.
Review 47:We are a more relaxed, low key couple, the hotel was very fancy - and the fitness center was a walk around a lake from our room (in near 0 degree temperatures). Working out is important for us so this wad a bummer but we made it work.
Review 48:We loved the in hotel bowling alley and fantastic food options. The staff was great and we had a wonderful time.
Review 49:That we had to leave! We were a bit disappointed when we wanted to sit and relax in the hot tub at the pool but found it was overrun by small children and decided not to use it because of that.
Review 50:We were so impressed with everyone and how welcoming and nice they were. Everyone wished us a happy anniversary from the gate house to the concierge. We were given a complimentary bottle of champagne and treated very well. The grounds were amazing and beautiful, there were plenty of events going on for New Year's Eve celebrations and everything was wonderful.
Review 51:We had been to the Broadmoor before, but never for an overnight. We wanted something special, and this was special all right. It was wonderful, amazing, etc. So glad we chose the Broadmoor!
Review 52:We visit the Broadmoor every year the weekend before Christmas and have for about past 13 years. It's one of my favorite weekends of the year. As I tell my friends I go into this zen state of relaxation as soon as we drive up. It's comfortable, beautiful and I know there will be someone ready to handle everything for me. (the mom)
Review 53:The room was very beautiful but the bed was not comfortable. My husband and I both woke up sore. The restaurants were not up to expectation. The best food we had was at the bowling alley. It was just too much money to pay to stay at this hotel.
Review 54:Excellent staff and property absolutely beautiful.
Review 55:WiFi connection wasn't great. My husband kept losing his laptop connection while trying to do a little work each morning.
Review 56:We stayed here a week to celebrate my 50th birthday. We couldn't have been pampered more! Excellence was apparent everywhere. Many fabulous restaurants on site, including the incredible 5-star Penrose Room. We are already planning our next visit!
Review 57:They automatically charge you $32/night for services which are largely unavailable in late fall, such as access to the fabulous outdoor pool and use of the paddle boats.
Review 58:A grand old hotel with Downton-Abbey like grandeur. Very formal, with attentive staff members who are often dressed far better than the guests. It has "turn-down service" and TVs in the enormous vanity mirrors. Perfect for princesses of all ages.
Review 59:Most beautiful hotel with polite and considerate staff. Stunning and spacious rooms with great room service. A couples weekend away is well recommended here!
Review 60:We left our kids at home....when we come back they'll be with us...
Review 61:Golf was fantastic. The service we received by several people we can in contact with was superb.
Review 62:How housekeeping woke us up at 9:00, 10:00.... And checkout is at 12:00. If you're paying 350.00/night you want to stay until 12:00. Rude. Food could have been better for what I'm sure they paid. All In all, I will highly recommend the broadmore.
Review 63:Staff, environment, photo ops
Review 64:We were very impressed with the Broadmoor. from the moment we were met at the entrance gate to the bellman delivering our bags to the room we were treated as VIP's. Beautiful grounds with many great restaurants and activities on property. We usually stay at a Four Seasons or Ritz and this was right up there with them.
Review 65:Everything aout our checkin was terrible - the young man at receptionwas arrogant and unapologetic - they had put us in two different areas -we had two rooms and when we asked to change that they charged us extrathey advised us to not use booking.com next time and call them direct itwas a total foulup and they offered no concessions even though I couldprove they were at fault.
Review 66:Everything is beautiful at the broadmoor - the grounds, the rooms,
Review 67:the restaurants were different menus than we were use to and the food was very rich.
Review 68:the room, the shops, the grounds, the staff was wonderful and so friendly. It is a beautiful resort and I hope to return again, maybe during Christmas.
Review 69:Twice I had staff members treat me rudely. I was surprised as was my husband. I just told him to ignore it but the second time was one too many. Fortunately, there was another staff member that witnessed the rudeness and did her best to make up for it.
Review 70:Beautiful location with lots to do for kiddos! Great gym and amazing outdoor pool.
Review 71:My cousin loved Your breakfast. I enjoyed your art collection and all those lovely spaces designed for private moments of ultimate comfort. How do You do it ?
Review 72:The valet had changed the radio station on our car. The temperature inside the room was a little warm for us and it didn't cool down very much at all.
Review 73:The service by all of the staff was excellent. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and attentive to all of our needs. The suites were very beautiful inside. The fireplace was nice. The view from the balcony overlooking the lake was exquisite. We had dinner brought to us on the balcony but the table could have been a little larger. We will be back again and stay more than one night to enjoy Pike's Peak, the 7 waterfalls, and a lot of other sites around Colorado Springs.
Review 74:All food service was very disappointing for over $200 each at the Penrose Room, everything we ordered was barely acceptable. The menu selection in the Penrose Room is very limited and we were very disappointed in our choices except for the soup. The salad was 95% lettuce. The fish was spoiled by a soupy presentation. Even the desserts were a disappointment but the room and music were outstanding. The prime rib in the Tavern was tough and disappointing. The inexperienced Tavern staff brought entrees when we were still eating our salads even though being supervised. The Golden Bee was enjoyable but could use a few more beer selections for a Pub. The breakfast room ran out of newspapers and made no effort to get more. Eggs were poorly prepared except for the benedict station where the chef accommodated my request to cook longer.
Review 75:Everything about the facilities is top notch. The shuttle service is very convenient and responsive with no waiting time. The bar tender in the bar makes outstanding cocktails. My husband loved being able to enjoy a cigar on the patio. We loved everything about our room and the hotel facilities. I loved that there is a spa/salon on the premises but regretted that I could not get an appointment when I had free time.
Review 76:Breakfast service at some of the buffets was poor at others it was excellent Maid service was a challenge, we had to call them three times to get our room made up
Review 77:Massages were good Penrose Room was excellent Bike Rentals were very good Valet did a good job
Review 78:The menus were extra-expensive and the food not necessarily commensurate. The lowest priced room, though comfortable, was overpriced.
Review 79:Gorgeous park-like surroundings and mountain scenery, historical architecture, ample patios for relaxing and great walks around the lake.
Review 80:The dining was very expensive and food portions were tiny. The pizza at Play was smaller and thinner than an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper and cost $11.00!
Review 81:The decor was beautiful. The pool area was wonderful, the temperature of the pool was perfect. The scenery was magnificent! Very, very nice!
Review 82:Stuffy attitude - I had just spent 4 days at La Fonda in Santa Fe - A great hotel - easy to recommend - about the same cost - the staff in Santa Fe felt comfortable with it's basic task of taking care of the guests - I've stayed in great hotels - the Broadmoor is not one of them.
Review 83:Location - Cleanliness -
Review 84:Expensive, but wonderful
Review 85:Hotel room was beautiful Food was great Activities were varied and appropriate for different ages Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful
Review 86:The only small thing was that there was no waste can in the bathroom -- only in the toilet area.
Review 87:The mattresses were superb! All in all, a very nice and welcoming resort.
Review 88:Restaurants were not too kid friendly in attire or menu choices.
Review 89:The grounds and buildings are beautiful. Staff is exceptional and friendly. The room was so nice and comfortable. We never heard ANY sounds from neighbors or people in hallway. The rooms must be sound proofed. The beds had a feather mattress pad under the sheets that was heavenly! We slept so well. Our only complaint would be tr restaurants on the resort are not extremely kid friendly in the menu selections. We ended up eating off the resort site after our first night. Otherwise, an incredible stay and great memories for our family.
Review 90:Prices keep going up, often with a resort fee parking is included.
Review 91:Property is kept up well, glad to see new wing. Happy new owners are continuing to upgrade property.
Review 92:The hotel setting is beautiful and the amenities extraordinary. The staff is helpful, friendly and efficient and one feels they are there to create the best vacation or stay you could possibly have!
Review 93:Must always wait for the valet to get your car since there is no option to self-park Not enough casual dress eating options Food was good but not a great value - portions are small
Review 94:Beautiful well-kept property Friendly and accomodating staff Many activities and food choices Comfortable beds
Review 95:That the outside pool does not stay open late. Closed around 6 pm. Would like it to stay open to at least 8pm., especially with kids
Review 96:Beautiful resort and kid friendly. Nice to see that it was also pet friendly. Will bring our pet next time.
Review 97:While the staff was extremely friendly once we arrived, dealing with the resort prior to arrival I found them snooty and arrogant. I requested a crib for one of our rooms upon booking 60 days ago. Upon follow up the week of our departure for the resort, I was told that there was no record of a request for a crib and there was no crib available. I told them that there was clearly a request for a crib on my reservation through Booking.com and their reply was that I should have booked directly through the resort rather than Booking.com. At that point I enlisted the help of Booking.com customer service and TA DA! Suddenly the Broadmoor had a crib for my grandson. I love Booking.com customer service!
Review 98:Well-deserving of their 5 Star rating. Stayed in the newly renovated West Tower, Premium Room...Wow! Large rooms, exquisitely decorated and ultra-modern bathroom. Took our adult children and our grandchild for the 4th of July. Everyone had a great time. Something for every age to do.

Review 107:Everything!!
Review 108:Having to go upstairs to the bathroom from Expresso and La Taverne.
Review 109:Friendliness of staff. Location, view. Amenities.
Review 110:The vacuuming at 630. Noise in morning outside my door from staff.
Review 111:Beautiful. Staff amazing.
Review 112:Lovely location, elegant facility, warm and attentive service--we loved it! Already planning our next visit there.
Review 113:The ambiance and facilities are first-rate.
Review 114:Excellent hotel, definitely will be back
Review 115:Wonderful staff and beautiful property
Review 116:$22 for a Crown and ginger ale that couldn't have been more than 5-6 oz seemed excessive!
Review 117:Beautiful property, great staff, and an amazing pool.
Review 118:Nothing.
Review 119:Everything.
Review 120:We thought the breakfasts were a little expensive
Review 121:service, setting, amenities, beautiful room and perfect location for what we wanted to do.

Review 125:Very friendly atmosphere, very clean grounds, room.
Review 126:Breakfast in Main Dining area. Ordered off of menu. Long wait and food was not hot.
Review 127:.....?? Too perfect!
Review 128:The staff absolutely wonderful! Well trained and perfectly chosen.
