Reviews for Hotel Royal

Review 1:The hotel caters for tour groups and in the morning the breakfast room can become a little crowded at times

Review 2:Very good value, fine for an overnight stay en route to BA

Review 3:The aircon in the room blew right onto the pillows. This made sleeping an uncomfortable and cold experience.

Review 4:The bed was extremely comfortable. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Plus they were able to converse in English which is always a bonus!

Review 5:We left a beer in a fridge that was for all guest of the hotel to use, and it got stollen, (yeah, I know its just a beer you might think, its not the price that bothered us, its the action.) we told one of the staff members about it and they responded that they couldnt take any responsability. If the hotel its not able to have individual fridges in each room they should at least look after what its left in the only one they have. As a graphic designer/ photographer I should know that things in pictures are not what they seem to be, but this went beyond my expectations! Totally disappointed!

Review 6:Location was good and one of the staff members had great attitude, helped us renting a car and keeping our bags safe before check- time.

Review 7:Smallish room, but adequate enough for our 2 nights stay. Great location very near the old town, i.e. Close to most of the attractions and restuarants. Wifi works pretty well for us (a little choppy during night peak period) and breakfast was more than decent too. About 15mins walk to bus terminal & port.

Review 8:The room was very small and rather gloomy . The cupboard and furniture were very basic with a poor finish. An expensive stay compared to our other stays in Uruguay

Review 9:The breakfast was good and the bathroom was clean. Very convenient position.

Review 10:Even though we knew it was a 3 star hotel and we didn't expect much, but that breakfast was terrible, sorry to say but the worst we have ever had. Hotel is a little bit old and needs refurbishment, and a different name as it is not a Royal Hotel.

Review 11:We liked the location, it was very close to the historical part of the city and at the same time very close to a ferry seaport where we needed to be next day. Our room was pretty clean and the bed was surprisingly big! We needed a room for less than one day, just literally to sleep over and leave next day, so this hotel was perfect for such matter. Price/quality is ideal. We knew it was not Hilton, so no surprise.

Review 12:A really nice and cozy hotel. Personal was really friendly and always willing to help. It is close to everything you could possibly want to se in the city.

Review 13:my only negative was that my adapter plug did not fit their powerpoints, they seemed smaller than the usual "european" plug, and I had to buy another locally. There was a minimarket very close.

Review 14:this was well positioned, and I walked everywhere I wanted to go. Very comfortable, and staff helpful. Nice breakfast, and lounge areas

Review 15:A no frills hotel perfectly situated in the old historic part of Colonia. The hotel was clean and my room was serviced daily. This included the bed linen as well as the bathroom towels etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. I thought the continental breakfast was great, actually better than I experienced at an equivalent hotel in the USA.

Review 16:Could need an upgrade

Review 17:Close to the Old Town.

Review 18:Excelente Atencion

Review 19:Tiny room!

Review 20:After dinner one block away from hotel a dog almost bite me. 20 meters away from police station!!

Review 21:Near downtown

Review 22:a bit old and tired but good value

Review 23:Location

Review 24:Shower was dirty but good accommodation for the price.

Review 25:Good location as this town was very small to walk around.

Review 26:great location, breakfast, clean rooms

Review 27:Price was high because of the holiday weekend.

Review 28:Glad to get a hotel in walking distance to the old town.
