Reviews for Mountain View Inn
Review 1:Occupant of room next door talked until 3 AM and we could very plainly hear his conversation.
Review 2:For the price this was an OK place to spend a night just traveling thru Flagstaff.
Review 3:My biggest complaint is that you cannot control the heater beyond turning it down, the room was much too cold for my liking. Staff was neither friendly nor rude. You will hear the train go by every 30 minutes or so. I had no idea Flagstaff had that much train traffic.
Review 4:On Route 66 at a good central location. Great price.
Review 5:When we arrived at 11 pm. We was given our room and key remind you i have 2 young kids and its been snowing the room we was told was ours the key didn't work then when we was trying it find out someone was already in the room. Then the heater didn't work i had to pit extra blankets on my kids lucking i brought our own cause my kids ended up using 6 blankets altogether..
Review 6:It was a fair price for the weekend stay..
Review 7:TV only had one working channel. But this gave me time to enjoy reading my book!
Review 8:Very clean, updated interior rooms. Economical price. No frills hotel if you are just looking for a economical place to spend the night
Review 9:There was no housekeeping, no clean towels, trash not removed. I had to take out my own trash and collect more towels. The room with two queen beds was very small. the dresser was so near to the door it was difficult to come in and out. There were only two pillows per bed that were very flat. The shower grout was discolored in places (not clean)
Review 10:The location was conveniently located on Route 66 near to downtown Flagstaff.
Review 11:They gave the same number of our room key to someone else and someone walked in while my girlfriend was changing and I was in the bathroom... Then in the morning room service just barges in and says "room service" we were ready to go but Jesus Christ who just barges in to a motel?
Review 12:I didn't like that they said the room was clean but the sheets were dirty the pillow cases were dirty they didn't have towels inside the bathroom there were leftover items from the guests overpaid for just one bed to get a horrible service not only that we didn't have sheets the heater then even heat up the room it was cold the entire night when we ask him to bring the sheets didn't bring sheets
Review 13:Same as above. Very disappointed.
Review 14:Heater did not work. Blow dryer did not work. Two towels for 4 people. Soap was like dry and disintegrated. No shampoo or any amenitys.
Review 15:Absolutely nothing
Review 16:Not crawling with roaches, fun post-modernistic crumbling sheetrock, long black hairs plastered the walls of the shower and stuck to the sheets. Complete with 1990s microwave with the standard grime and gruel, a telltale sign of many years of heating up TV dinners from the nearest budget supermarket. Close to train tracks.
Review 17:Room heater doesn't work during our stay, it's winter and -8c degree. We paid a hefty price of $110 for a night, the day after Christmas hence it's really not value for money
Review 18:Location, room comes with microwave, fridge, wifi
Review 19:No chair in the room, no place to put clothes on. Shouldn't lie on booking.com that the rate was down from over 100 to 54. It is a 54 $ kind of room, no more.
Review 20:Clean room with everything working.
Review 21:the office was closed when we arrived at 1PM and nobody until 3PM. The room had no desk, chair, or a place to hang clothes. Too much noise at the hotel.
Review 22:location
Review 23:We checked in on Saturday and checked out on Monday, they never cleaned our room on Sunday, we wanted to take a shower on Monday morning but because they didn't clean our room on Sunday we had no towels, when I went to the office to get towels it was closed and they don't open until 3 pm.
Review 24:The staff was nice
Review 25:The towels was not good so bring your own and carpet could use cleaning
Review 26:The service was excellent. Room was clean and tidy. Sheets was clean and when I requested room service the bed linen really was changed.
Review 27:I checked in and got a king size but the room I was given still wasoccupied, so I had to get queen further down.
Review 28:The location from local businesses
Review 29:The heater took forever to heat the room and the tv was less than user friendly. Everytime we turned it off it had to be reset to ch. 3 in order for us to use it. We also found a beer bottle cap on the floor by the head of the bed which leads me to believe that the cleaning staff is less than thorough.
Review 30:The price was good. To spend one night and than move on our price was exactly what we wanted to pay.
Review 31:This used to be my go-to place but it has changed. The room smelled musty, you can hear conversations in the next room clearly and the blanket had holes in it. I also found a foreign hair in my bed on day 1. If you stay more than one night, there no room service and the staff was lukewarm at best- not friendly or marginally welcoming.
Review 32:Price - got a good deal online for my stay.
Review 33:Hair on the bed didn't look like the sheets were changed since the last visit. Toilet was a little dirty.
Review 34:It was cheap and not terrible good value for the money.
Review 35:Room 101. Noisy with door across from bed into their living quarters( heard owners bird, conversation and microwave). Main heater not working and hair in shower.
Review 36:Comfortable bed and nice atmosphere
Review 37:One of the towels was very dirty. I stayed 2 nights and they did not clean nor make the bed after the first night.
Review 38:The rooms are very good of the price.
Review 39:The room didn't have one picture and few towels, but this is a minor gripe, I really liked the value.
Review 40:Staff was great, great value and easy access was nice.
Review 41:Only negative was hair dryer didn't work. Minor set back for my wife was all.
Review 42:Price was biggest positive and staff interactions was brief but professional. They waited for us to arrive which was after office hours on a Saturday evening which meant he gave up personal time with family n friends.
Review 43:There where 2 blood stains on the comforter. Bathroom was small, by the train tracks, separated 3 rooms when specifically asked to be close on reservation date. Small parking area and, a bad neighborhood.
Review 44:We didn't have to sleep outside. The water was hot.
Review 45:This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Everything was outdated. We found traces of food behind the night stand. There were no luggage stands, no hangers and the bathroom light was a dim florescent. The train could be heard throughout the night and guests revved up their motorcycles for 30 minutes at dawn. There was no breakfast which is probably good since I wouldn't have trusted the food. The guest clerk told us Flagstaff is packed each weekend and that's why it costs so much. That's no excuse to provide lousy service. We paid way too much for an inferior stay.
Review 46:not one hook to hang anything on or one chair to sit in. A recently renovated room that seemed not to have been finished.
Review 47:The room was clean and well priced for our needs
Review 48:No daily cleaning of the rooms, shower had hair and soap scum, no place to place your items, no out door night lights.
Review 49:Quite and location very easy to find. Parking spaces good..
Review 50:Very old and uncomfortable beds. Room was very dirty, lacked privacy and all linens were stained and itchy.
Review 51:Very affordable, close to restaurants and stores. Had a refrigerator and microwave.
Review 52:Only issue we had was the entire parking lot was totally dark as well as the stairways. We left very early the next day and had to be very careful when leaving. Train across the street runs about every 15 minutes. Could be an issue
Review 53:Very close to old downtown Flagstaff and local stores.
Review 54:Smokers order a non smoking room and smoke! Tar and nicotine acts like glue and sticks to everything! YOU CAN'T GET RID OF THAT HORRIBLE SMELL!!! NOT THE HOTELS FAULT!!! STAFF came in and sprayed our room at our request. All hotels have this problem! Smoke Detectors need to increase sensitivity so they will alarm when smokers suck on cigarettes in non smoking rooms!
Review 55:Being across the street from the train station had a lot of advantages. You can take the train ANYWHERE! Many roads have been washed out the GPS data bases are OUT OF DATE! The running trains at night put me to sleep. LOVED IT!
Review 56:Very Poor wifi or le5 s say no wifi. Toilet didn't fush at check in , staff gave a toilet pump that s it !?? We have to deal with toilet ourself. No curtain on back window
Review 57:People could say the rooms are small, but if what you want is just to use the room to sleep then I think it's the perfect place.
Review 58:Very very clean room and bathroom. It looked like a very well-kept place.
Review 59:For amount of money to much noise no hangers in closet no coffee in room I could have gone down the road a little and got more for less next time I will
Review 60:place was clean
Review 61:Very dirty towels...all 12 of them over a 2 day period; worn out sheets, no place to hang clothes, no place to sit down, easy to hear what is going on in next room
Review 62:Nothing really
Review 63:Unit was Clean and in Good Repair. Fluorescent Light when out over Vanity Sink. Manager had it fixed within 30 minutes. He even had to go to Home Depot to get one! Staff was very friendly. I would stay their again.
Review 64:Some of the things like curtains & blankets were torn up & had holes. Some of the rooms did not have air conditioning.
Review 65:Very good price for a last minute stay. Nice to see small mountains behind the inn. And there was a beautiful park nearby.
Review 66:Bulbs in lights so weak it was hard to even read in the room. No in-room coffee, the worn out blanket had a big rip. The tiny TV wasn't even flat screen and the remote didn't power it on. The office didn't open until 3pm. But the worst thing was they had no security lighting in the parking lot. Our cars and anyone who was out there after dark was easy prey.
Review 67:Price was right and the room was big and the shower worked fine.
Review 68:This motel is located along route 66 and they most certainly make you pay for that. I paid nearly 200 bucks for a Saturday night for an average motel room that easily comes for 70$ in other places. Staff was rather unmotivated yet helpful if needed. There is no breakfast which, at this price, is an absolute no no. Staff also likes their sleep ins and reception doesn't open in the morning when people usually leave. Place requires ear plugs to catch some sleep (busy road & train close by)
Review 69:Motel is in a good location. Room was clean and in good state.
Review 70:ROOM WAS LIKE A "CELL"....TOO SMALL...ONLY ENOUGH ROOM FOR A QUEEN SIZED BED WITH LITTLE TINY SPACE AROUND THE BED. I COULDN'T SLEEP...FELT LIKE I WAS IN JAIL!!!
Review 71:What did I like...price too high.....poor location on main highway.....noisy location.....AND ROOM was LIKE A PRISON CELL....TOO SMALL....I FELT CLOSTERPHOBIC ALL NIGHT!!!
Review 72:It was right across from railroad tracks which we didn't know and trains ran all night. Beds weren't very comfortable and the room was too warm.
Review 73:The staf was very friendly and while facilities were a little older it was clean
Review 74:The worst FLEABAG we have ever seen. Not even one clothes hanger but an extremely dirty microwave and an extortionate high price for this dosshouse! Worn out blankets with holes in it and a dirty bedspred as well. Rubbish in front of our door. Extremely small room, just walls around a small bed.
Review 75:Nothing!
Review 76:Need to provide clean washed sheets and sell old sheets. Beds are ols and very uncomfortable. Towels were stained and not clean. Blanket is very very old and so worn out with threads and cotton coming off. Room soze, hardly uou can walk around the bed.will ne Ns
Review 77:Nothing absolutely.
Review 78:The room decoration is quite sad. Just by painting a différent color on the wall and the whole environnent of the room would change
Review 79:Very clean friendly staff!!!
Review 80:Would of loved coffee maker for even single cup, but that didn't change my stay because price was great.
Review 81:Everything about it was great, shower had hot water, clean, very friendly & helpful. Thank you.... Beds were great. Thank you
Review 82:Our toilet was held together by tape, which initially grossed me out. We got a room with a king size bed but the blanket must have only been meant for a queen size so it didn't cover the whole bed, just the top. My husband ended up taking the entire blanket just to cover himself. Not only did we have a problem with the blanket, but our bed didn't have a fitted sheet on it, so when we woke up in the morning, the sheet had slipped off and we were laying on the bare mattress. I spent most of the night trying to smooth it out.... Laying on a bare hotel mattress is pretty disgusting. The showers were also extremely small. The shower curtain stuck to me the entire time.
Review 83:Location was about the only good thing about this Inn
Review 84:The bathtub clogged and when we asked for repair they promise to sent one but no one show up & when we went to the office. the office closed from 8 AM to 11 AM. Terrible service
Review 85:The location just of Route 66
Review 86:No ice machine. No office attendant. Soap and shampoo offered were very substandard. Bare bones accommodations. Hope this isn't how inexpensive boarding is going to be. Pay extra - it's worth it.
Review 87:It was a good price but, it proved the axiom, you get what you pay for.
Review 88:Nothing to mention particularly.
Review 89:We didn't care much after a very exhausting day, the bed was comfy that was what we wanted basically. Staff was nice.
Review 90:Paid $112 thru Booking.com and found a receipt on the floor from 2 days earlier for $79 paid direct to the motel. Place was not clean. Office was locked and required ringing bell to check in and check out. Clerk came from manager's quarters and went thru her quarters to the office to get me a receipt which took over 5 minutes. All the while she was on a personal phone call.
Review 91:Nothing.
Review 92:No cust service. Office closed all day. Electrical safety problems - bathroom receptacle inoperable. 1 power strip for everything in the room. Loud Train every 10 minutes. Room dirty - 3 days, no maid service. Very unhappy.
Review 93:Free wifi but Not much else
Review 94:Looked like the bathroom had been recently remodeled, which was nice however there was not a hair dryer as advertised. The cleaning of the bathroom could of been better as there was still hair in the shower and on the outer tub. Spiderweb in the bottom corners.
Review 95:Somebody walked in without knocking and I had to tell them I was in the room. So always have your clothes on. There was no door sign to let staff know I didn't want to be bothered.
Review 96:Great location and value for the money. I felt safe and comfortable with my vehicle in the parking lot.
Review 97:No phone book.. Extremely poor lighting equal to 10 watt bulbs 3 only)wet rug due to leaky toilet! Only 1 set of towels for 2 people.Requested more and got a soiled looking wash cloth and 1 large towels. All towels extremely worn./ Door sticks. No one in office in am totell about these problems. They appeared to be quite full but obviouslydon't put any money into this place. I would not have Booking.comdeal with them business wise.
Review 98:Nothing!!!
Review 99:This is our second stay in less than a month, we enjoyed both stays. I am a train fanatic and enjoyed the trains right across the street. They even put us in the front room so I could see the trains better.
Review 100:We got our room at a discount, so it was perfect for the price (about $50). It was very clean and the staff was very friendly even though we arrived to check in right as their office was closing. This place was exactly what we were hoping for as a place to spend the night on a road trip.
Review 101:Awful flat uncomfortable pillows on the bed. We forgot my husbands cpap machine. We got home to Phx before we realized. When I called to ask if they had it the man said he found it when he cleaned our room. Too bad he didn't call us before we got all the way back home. We had to turn around and drive back.
Review 102:We were impressed that there was both a refrigerator and microwave. The room was small but clean.
Review 103:Smoker's holes in the blankets eventhough it was a non smoking room. Could have used a better cooling system. Train noise could bother some people.
Review 104:Price and location were good. Looks like they redid some of the bathroom fixtures.
Review 105:Right across from a very busy railroad, kept us awake. Also, wifi was very spotty and unreliable in our room.
Review 106:Seemed clean, and cool view of the mountain. About an hour away from the Grand Canyon.
Review 107:Located just across the street from the railroad which has trains running less than 15 minutes apart. After 8:00 pm the lapse between trains lengthens but they are just too loud. This motel lacks some basic items like hair dryer, luggage stands, etc. It lacked the quality we expected.
Review 108:Close to all major highways.
Review 109:They have a extra charge no ice and no maid service at all. So why the extra charge toilet was off and tank was tapped on towels are like paper towels.
Review 110:Room clean
Review 111:Aside from the bed set upon 2 x 4s with a few parts precariously jutting out that could cause an injury we had to try to get used to the overwhelming aroma of cheap air freshener. It was almost thick in that room making me wonder what they were covering up, but then I remembered that the office had a similar smell so I guess the owner/manager just likes the dollar store air fresheners!
Review 112:Terrible lighting. Holes & stains in the sheets and curtains. Attendant had a cold personality. Wifi was slower than 3G. Towels were stiff and yellow. Shower curtain was molding at the bottom. Smoke detector cast a green glow on the bed, & made me feel like there was a night vision cam on me.
Review 113:I liked the family from Ireland in the room next to mine. Coffee stand down the road a few blocks was great. The Air Conditioner worked.
Review 114:The motel is located next to a busy street with a parallel railway. There was a noisy traffic on the railway even in the night hours. Perhaps we met with bedbugs.
Review 115:Standard motel with good facilities. Microwave and fridge were in the room. The Free WiFi connection was very good.
Review 116:We had booked for 4 people, got 3 towels and 2 cups. Had to ask for more. In room for 2 days, room not made up and no where to hang towels. Had to ask for more towels because they were sour. Internet dreadful
Review 117:The front desk people were extremely nice.
Review 118:We were shocked to have strangers using a key to walk in to our room twice right after we settled in bed(10:30pm). We were all half dressed, Kids were woken up by the noise, we had a very hard time sleeping after that. Poor insulation, we can hear every noise from next rooms and outside. People who came in did not speak English, but we are assuming the hotel accidentally assigned our room twice?? It was the strangest experience ever. We told the office what happened before check out, but they didn't care too much
Review 119:The hotel was clean
Review 120:No towel racks and no coffee in AM.
Review 121:I have stayed here twice now and they are definitely improving the place. It is great of you are just passing through Flagstaff
Review 122:There was no soap, shampoo, or conditioner in the room. The room did not have hooks to hang wet towels. There wasn't anywhere to hang clothes and the only channel our television got was in Spanish.
Review 123:The rooms are clean and the hotel is quiet.
Review 124:The train kept us awake, refrigerator was not cold, it was too loud next door and could not figure out the television. Complained to the front desk but the clerk just brushed us off did not offer other solution.
Review 125:None
Review 126:As soon as I drove onto the parking lot I realized the photos had beendoctored. This hostel is much smaller and older than is displayed on theinternet. The size of the room too was very small as it barely held thequeen bed. I tried to terminate the reservation but was confronted by astoic Indian girl who seemed unconcerned, and spoke in short terse wordsreminding of their 24 hour cancellation policy, so I’d lose $146.13 ortolerate the inconvenience! The “Inn” as they refer to it is a vintage50’s motel with very small rooms that had merely gotten a new coat ofpaint! The room had an unidentifiable odor that lingered long enough tointerrupt sleep! Sheets were yellow and the tv did not work. There wasno phone in the room to call for service so if we needed anything therewas a 30 yard dash in the rain. Towels were also yellow and small andthere were too few for more than one person. A small ac was in thebathroom and sent more noise to the sleeping quarters than cool air. There was no desk or chairs, or night tables and if you need to relaxbring your own lotions. The stuff in the room which came in tiny packetsturned into a powdery substance when applied that resembled crotchcheese! I’ve never seen a smaller bar of soap and it contained lye! Theroom was less than a football field from a train track that had a busierschedule than the big terminals in the 1940’s! The gps had greatdifficulty finding this place because the street apparently has 2 namesand the overall ambiance was that of a hostel without a shared bathroom. The next day we stayed in a Days Inn which was half the price and hadeverything one would expect of a motel or inn especially more room!
Review 127:the aircondifionsr is not fully operated causing a lot of noise during the sleep. I caught a cold at night, and the receptionist is not very friendly when I told him something wrong with the AC, seems he's already quite use to it. And on the bed, I noticed some different colored hair.
Review 128:Reletively cheap
Review 129:The hotel was clean. The shower head had problem and chair in room was in poor shape. The trains ran every 20 to 30 min. The room was pretty well sounded proof but if your sensitive to sound think twice.
Review 130:Dirty linens, burn holes in blanket, strong urine smell in bathroom, carpet dirty. Window air conditioner located behind solid wall between it and the sleeping area with a small door allowing very little airflow.
Review 131:Office staff was nice,
Review 132:You could complain about the train, how old the place is, etc... But really? For the price, I can't complain.
Review 133:I forgot my iPad and they contacted me to let me know! They
Review 134:air conditioner was broke. the toilet tank lid was taped on. a plate in the tub that screwed on was broke and I had to watch my grand daughter make sure she didn't cut herself.
Review 135:It was clean and good price. Very nice people.
Review 136:For the price one should not expect a lot; but, A/C during outdoor 90 degree temperature should be a must. The A/C in the unit had obviously been broken for some time, and no mention of this was made during the registration.
Review 137:Desk attendant was personable, helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately, the facility was not reflective of her qualities.
Review 138:Nowhere to hang my clothes after days in a suitcase, I was there 2 nights but the room wasn't serviced at all, the refrigerator was in dire need of defrosting, no kettle and tea/coffee, you tripped over the toilet getting in and out of the shower, no natural light because the window was right onto the car park with no frosting or thin curtain to prevent people looking right in, so the room was dark.
Review 139:Well, the wifi worked ...
