Reviews for Rio Sierra Riverhouse
Review 1:The mattress was very hard & uncomfortable. Hard to sleep....Should look into a good mattress pad to add some comfort.
Review 2:The river view was absolutely gorgeous! Great place to just relax.
Review 3:The town is all along one road which goes directly to Sequoia NP so you cannot really walk to anywhere as the road is busy. There are not many eateries to choose from.
Review 4:The property is right on the riverbank giving excellent views of the river and surrounding countryside. It even has a little beach. We had a studio and it was very spacious and well equipped. The best eatery was Ol Buckeroo on the riverside.
Review 5:we paid $24 for a bunch of grapes, a bagel, 2 x triangle cheeses & 3 small bun cakes, which we obviously thought was very expensive. it let the experience of being somewhere special down.
Review 6:fantastic location, and a real quirky charataristic property.
Review 7:Not bad, but breakfast could be better
Review 8:Spacious and clean room located next to the river. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Close to the entrance to Sequoia national park.
Review 9:Brilliant location close to the sequoia park. The owner is lovely, friendly and ready to help all the time. The river is a good addition to the property.
Review 10:We were on a very quick road trip and needed a comfortable location to rest and chill for one night and day. The stay was very much enjoyed and served us nicely. Mars and her staff are very helpful, pleasant and friendly. The location, on the river, was just right for our overnight stop in Three Rivers. Cozy small place....nice!
Review 11:When entering room there was pee and paper in toilet and wet towels hanging behind the bathroom door - rest of room was clean. Didn't really understand the food prep area or breakfast part . Wanted to sit outside but all the chairs were taken so retreated to room :(
Review 12:Great staff. Comfy bed. Beautiful grounds . Great location.
Review 13:Everything was perfekt. Location is wunderful, the possibility to swim in the river is gorgeouse and Mars and the whole staff were very helpful and friendly. We wished we could have stayed longer and definitly would come back to that wonderfull riverhouse.
Review 14:Fabulous little hideaway! Cute cottagy rooms, lovely riverside location and kids loved swimming in the river. Great that they offer pizza in the evening and breakfast basket for the morning.
Review 15:Avoid at all cost the queen room which has no river view. It was horrible. No view, next to the road, no privacy (people walking past the window). Worst of all, a tiny room which made us feel claustrophobic. We upgraded after the 1st night (no rooms available) like going from hell to heaven. My scores are based on the room we upgraded to - that was wonderful.
Review 16:Amazing rooms (except one) Owner was great Staff helpful Sitting around the fire pit in the evening listening to the river bubbling by
Review 17:No central AC unit in one of the rooms, had a built in wall AC, but it did not cool the room very well. One of the rooms temperature is connected to another rooms AC unit, not good if you don't know each other. Also alot of cobwebs on the celling and light fixtures.
Review 18:The view of the river
Review 19:noisy neighbours, i could hear them till 2am having fun, while i was trying to sleep.
Review 20:Perfect place to see Sequoia National Park and just sit by the river. I like breakfast it was in the fridge, good idea i didn't have to get out of my room, they have thought of everything. had my first s'more as complimentary evening thing by fire, really nice
Review 21:A few kitchen utensils would have been helpful ............. a minor quibble!
Review 22:Loved the location and staff. It was so unusual, never stayed any where quite like it. Staff were attentive in an incredibly unobtrusive way. Wish we had ordered the breakfast! The s'mores round the campfire were a lovely touch. From the swimming in the river to the call of the coyotes this will be a holiday we will never forget! Thank you!
Review 23:I believe they advertised coffee and bagels in the morning but nothing surfaced. We found an adorable coffee place in Three Rivers so we were consoled.
Review 24:Lovely property directly on the river. We took advantage of their "griller barbecue". For $12 a person the hosts provided us with all the fixings for our own barbecue which we prepared on their grill and ate under the stars. Enjoyed teaching a French family the intricacies of making s'mores! The room was fine and the price was right. The owner Mars was extremely accommodating.
Review 25:We liked the people, the location and especially the facility itself. There are beautiful granite pools and waterfalls at the edge of the property. My 12yr old son swam in the pools and I caught fish in the morning. We had a 9 day trip to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Sequoia National Forest and Yosemite. Of the entire trip, my son said his favorite memory was our stay at the Rio Sierra Riverhouse. I almost want to keep it a secret!
Review 26:It gets warm up there in the summer. Other than that, the main thing I didn't like was leaving!
Review 27:I love to camp, but I'm tire of the schlepping and the setting up and the taking down. We stayed in the Hideaway at Rio and it was all the joys of camping with no work. We could sit around the campfire, see stars at night, swim in the river (the best!) and be among the trees. Then we could go to sleep or cook a meal in the air conditioned caravan. The best of both worlds. Mars is wonderful.
Review 28:Not sure why? But the wifi stopped working at 10pm and never worked after this time, even in the morning.
Review 29:The outside area was beautiful and very relaxing. Chairs were set out near a beach type area and they lit a fire pit at night. The room had an outside balcony. It was very close to Sequoia national park.

Review 51:Perfect balance between being close to nature and civilization. You can enjoy a beautiful river right in front of the house while being several minute drive from the Sequoia park and shops and cafes. The panoramic room we stayed in had kitchen equipped with absolutely everything (including cooking books) and interesting books and interior details.
Review 52:This is a magical place; my family spent two incredible nights and three days here and we really felt like we were at a close relatives house. Everything is perfect, from breakfast that we opted for to the cozy house and the fire lit by the river every night. If you're looking for the perfect getaway with the family, this is the place to stay, hands down.
Review 53:We love the beautiful place. The way Mars ( the owner) design the room is excellent. You can walk through the big rocks on the river which is stunning. We really enjoyed our stay.
Review 54:Resident cats! Might be ok for some but not for cat phobics. Could not enjoy the lovely outdoor spaces. There should be a warning on the websight.
Review 55:Great view and sound of river from our room and well kept grounds with plenty places to relax.
Review 56:Rooms facing road can be a bit noisy. Ask for a river facing room if it is available.
Review 57:very well kept by owner. Very friendly staff. Excellent location. I do recomend it.
Review 58:Beautiful location, friendly staff, incredibly relaxing. Chilling out on the river, beautiful wonderful river is pure luxury. The photos do not do it justice...the rooms opening up onto the river bank where there are low key bbq's and wood fires available and lanterns in the evening underneath the stars minutes away from sequoia national park...we loved it so much...
