Reviews for Sonesta ES Suites Flagstaff
Review 1:When we arrived our room wasn't ready so they instantly upgraded us to a 2 bedroom suite. The staff was BEYOND nice and courteous!!!! Very helpful and kind. The breakfast was yummy and lots of varieties.
Review 2:Sometimes, the receptionists were nice and helpful, but at other times, they seemed to be distracted. One of them gave me a paper to sign that was actually intended for another customer. She also neglected to tell me that logs were available for our fireplace. If I'm paying good money for a hotel, I expect the receptionists to communicate with me and tell me everything I need to know to make my stay more enjoyable. Vacations are short, so I want to enjoy them! :-)
Review 3:We love the fireplaces in the rooms, which create a very cozy atmosphere in winter. Be sure to book a room with a fireplace and ask for logs. We enjoyed soaking in the tub after being outside in the cold winter air. The warm breakfast was wonderful, with different selections every day. We also liked having a kitchenette. We saved lots of money by making some of our own meals. We loved skiing at the Nordic Ski Center and ice skating at the Jay Lively Activity Center. Be sure to look up the skating schedule on the Internet before you go.
Review 4:The breakfast is not consistent or the regular cook was on vacation since we went for Christmas. We had to pay more for the fireplace but it's a hotel in an area that gets snow... That should be standard. Call us spoiled but part of the fun of staying in a nice hotel, or a hotel period for that matter, is the daily clean up/change of linens. We can understand the "being green" and all and they did change our our towels but it's just something about having fresh sheets and made bed that "renews" you for the next day. They will do it... If you ask. Awkward.
Review 5:We liked the fireplace and the full kitchen with full size fridge and stove. There was actually a dishwater, utensils, drinking and wine glasses as well as a full size dishwasher. It was an actual studio! We were like if there was another bed and bath we could live here! With our 3 small kids under 4! The breakfast on the Saturday we checked out was good. There's a full size microwave and the front desk provided the logs and matches.
Review 6:Staff was friendly, room was perfect (fireplace, full kitchen, comfy bed, big area for family of four), big grass play area where my son played in the snow, great location, breakfast had good selection. Definitely will be going back!!
Review 7:My reservation changes had not been changed; however they took care of the mistake and comp an extra night plus an extra room for the inconvenience. I was very pleased and grateful.
Review 8:The windows are poorly insulated with respect to noise, cold, or even wind. Not exactly cheap for what is offered.
Review 9:Two bedrooms with kingsize beds are great for families
Review 10:Does not apply.
Review 11:It was very convenient to many places. The staff was very helpful. Check in and out was very easy. Breakfast was amazing. Lots of storage in room. Would stay again and recommend this place.
Review 12:I did not like that the staff in the evening seemed a bit uneducated on the policies and amenity usage. They were not as friendly as I would have preferred. Over all, they were nice, but didn't go the extra mile. I asked for additional blankets and was told "no," even though I had requested them with my reservation. I asked for breakfast times and was told "until 11 am," although I learned that it was only until 10 am. Also, we were about 15 minutes late for our checkout, and even though we called to notify the front desk, a very abrupt knock on the door at noon sharp startled us. The lady firmly stated "are you leaving today?" It wasn't rude, but somewhat off-putting considering we had previously notified the staff, and added a bit of an uncomfortable rush to our departure.
Review 13:I loved the space. It was unbelievably comfortable and convenient. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The cleanliness was incomparable! The kitchenette was perfect and the amenities were excellent! I will definitely be visiting again.
Review 14:Loved the Fireplace! The place is right by the mall, and the staff is so nice and helpful. The bed was actually comfortable!! Not sure if the rooms around us were empty or if we just did not hear any other people around us, so the stay was pleasant!
Review 15:May be a little more stuff in the kitchen should have been available. Plus milk should have been complementary ;)
Review 16:The rooms were spacious, clean and nicely designed. Comfortable stay throughout. We were a big group.. with 2 elderly, 3 youngsters and one kid. It was big enough to accommodate all of us.
Review 17:Gym was disappointing. We were staying in 5 star hotel previous few nights, you can notice the difference
Review 18:Great location, clean rooms, areas for barbecue, nice breakfast.
Review 19:dirty carpet in the living space (should put wood floors), no baking sheets, no barbecue forks or tongs, could use some serving platters
Review 20:Delicious breakfast, even had nice plates in the breakfast area (not flimsy paper), clean and comfortable beds, soft pillows, liked the toiletries, great water pressure in the shower, updated appliances and decor, away from the tracks and city noise/congestion, felt like a safe neighborhood
Review 21:- Everything was dirty: Windows, sheets, towels, entrance.. Huge cobwebs above the door and a lot of bugs and spiders all over the place! - Huge spider cobs everywhere - Asked to clean but the unfriendly receptionist said that at this hour we can't help you, wait for tomorrow. no apologies and not sorry.. just like that. F*ck you in the face! I end up cleaning the cobwebs BY MY SELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - HAIR on towels!!!!!
Review 22:- Nice breakfast - Nice views from some appartments
Review 23:Large, comfortable room. Very clean and well-thought out. Kitchen was a plus...Wonderful location overlooking a golf course and pondwith geese.Excellent value.
Review 24:Everyone was very friendly and helpful with information and anything you needed! Breakfast was very nice. Very clean and friendly and a nice variety to choose from.
Review 25:Perhaps a smile when checking in would have been nice
Review 26:Very clean, good breakfast and large room with fire and kitchen. One of the best stops in the last five weeks.
Review 27:Bit overpriced, breakfast was nasty!
Review 28:It was just off the freeway so easy to find. Beds were comfy and place was well decorated and looked modern. You could BBQ if you wanted.
Review 29:That the suite accommodated 4 of us comfortably and there was so much more room for 2 more easily. Also the property thought ahead to make sure all our needs were meet. The breakfast was fantastic and check out isn't till 12:00 !
Review 30:Very disappointing re: the pool hours and Jacuzzi (hot tub) after traveling and not being able to use this due to the hours was not good.
Review 31:Very Surprised by the size of room and the amenities had I known that the room came equipped with a kitchen I would have brought groceries to cook inside the room.
Review 32:can't think of a thing that wasnt just as it should be. . A great place to stay!
Review 33:can't think of a thing that wasnt just as it should be. A great place to stay!
Review 34:We asked to have our towels replaced and have been made up after our first night, and we came home later around 5pm and it was never done.
Review 35:everything clean, kitchen and items in kitchen clean.Bed wasn't that comfortable
Review 36:Some of the air conditioning units can be very noisy and most of them just happen to be placed right next to your head and bed.
Review 37:Very nice property that makes you feel like home, very good location, well-maintained.
Review 38:Unfortunately, our check-in experience was subpar. However, we addressed it with another staff member who was extremely helpful.
Review 39:The facilities and amenities were great for the price. The property is located across from a beautiful golf course, about 10 minutes from downtown Flagstaff.
Review 40:I would like 119.00 rate...I get state rate in California cause I am state employee. Can I get state rate?
Review 41:Quite and the hiking trails and grass park.
Review 42:When travelling with an adult child, the extra sofa bed setup was not favorable. The sofa was supposed to be used for sitting and just next to our large bed. No real bathroom, shower cabinet is separated... not good for our purposes. The advertised electric fireplace was just nonsense and actually annoying to be so much advertised in descriptions...
Review 43:Nice hotel for one night stay
Review 44:Pull out bed was ridiculously small and uncomfortable, my son preffered to sleep on the floor.Walls are really thin and noise from pool was annoying.Staff at check-in was not very friendly.
Review 45:Room was big and roomy, clean, bed was comfortable.
Review 46:- The staff person during check-in made it feel like I had showed up to file for unemployment at a government office. - While the hotel was spotlessly clean, it seemed like a lot of money for what we ultimately received - The breakfast was pretty low quality, especially the fruit.
Review 47:- Rooms were immaculate! - Room laid out very nicely. - Bed was comfy, loved the kitchen, lots of space. - Convenient location - Beautiful view of golf course across the street.
Review 48:if the breakfast had a bit more various choice, I would call this hotel perfect.
Review 49:Great hotel - at least for short stay. Nice and spacy room, convenient location, good facilities.
Review 50:I was please to get a two-room suite on fairly short notice. The facilities are attractive and clean. The employees were gracious and the breakfast was an added bonus. Be aware that one bedroom is quite small.
Review 51:Pillows and the fact we were on the second level of our unit and had to drag our luggage up the stairs.
Review 52:This was a surprise hotel find on our two week vacation trip. Realize that it is not located in central Flagstaff where all the other hotels are located. It is near the country club east of town. Large, quiet room on a nice piece of property. It would be a nice place to stay for a longer time than our single night stay.
Review 53:The staff was excellent -- friendly, professional and helpful. The facility was very nice, well-appointed, with roomy suites. I was very impressed with the entire experience.
Review 54:The only downside is that the free wifi was really slow. You have to upgrade for $10/day to get anything done.
Review 55:We loved the rooms, spacious, clean, bright and the bed was super comfortable.
Review 56:The breakfast could of been better.
Review 57:My husband and I value a clean room and a comfortable bed. This hotel had both. Even the pillows were comfortable. Great location, close to highway and to local attractions. Would absolutely recommend it to others.
Review 58:I wish there were more options at breakfast for my husband and I who have to eat gluten free. 5 days of liquid eggs and fruit got really old. We asked for the light outside of our room to be replaced the day we got there and it still hadn't been done when we left.
Review 59:The comfort of the bed is my favorite part. The kitchen was spacious and complete. It is so nice to have two bedrooms and bathrooms. Like having 2 hotel rooms but all together.
Review 60:Expected separate room and bed for a suite. Six foot son could not sleep comfortably on pullout bed. He actually slept on the floor second night.
Review 61:Personnel were very helpful. Very attractive overall property.
Review 62:Conviently located for visiting the South rim of the Grand Canyon. Close to other attractions in and around Flagstaff, including old town Flagstaff. Great rooms and facilities for families or business travelers.
Review 63:The pool was out of service due to cleaning. There was a small tennis court but no tennis net so was a little hard to play tennis. Pastries at breakfast were hard and dry. Indoor pool would be ideal still a little cold even in April.
Review 64:The space and comfort of room. Good price for size of space.
Review 65:I miss the coffee bar in the lobby...it was a nice gesture for incoming guests, and offered a social atmosphere for long-term guests. Also miss the complementary laundry facilities for extended stay guests.
Review 66:Newly decorated property and nice-sized accommodations.
Review 67:Lobby entrance-painting toxic glue at desk. Dumpsters right outside both my windows. Dirt covered walkway to doorway. Careless responses to my concerns.
Review 68:Comfortable beds!
Review 69:We decided to forego our second night of camping on S Rim because the temps were in the low '20s, and we booked last minute. Everything about our stay was wonderful. Staff is very helpful and our room was aesthetically pleasing and obviously new. Great breakfast too. Stay here.
Review 70:This hotel was better than I could have asked for - great location, clean, super comfortable bed, plenty of space with all the conveniences, including full kitchen and a friendly staff. I'll be back!
Review 71:Booking.com didn't put our reservation in right so Sonesta had to call them and straighten things out.
Review 72:Breakfast was great. Bed comfortable. Staff very nice. Kitchen very nice.
Review 73:Due to the remodeling there was no hot breakfast but the quality and choices of the "grab and go" breakfast was more than adequate.
Review 74:Everything. the staff, room and the grounds were excellent.
Review 75:We honestly had no idea that there was a pet fee. They have no problem telling you that they allow pets, however they will not tell you that they charge $75 for a pet fee. Such a disappointment.
Review 76:Staff very friendly , love staying in the suite it provided everything we needed and it was very comfy stay I would definitely ... recommend my friends ....
Review 77:It did tend to get load in the morning hours from people returning from breakfast with doors slamming hard and footstomps on the stairs. Still doing there remodel so not all amenities were available, but you can see the direction there headed and how nice there making everything that it gets you excited to return to see the finished product.
Review 78:Far enough off the beaten path so traffic wasn't an issue day or night. Also away from the hustle of downtown and campus. But still conveniently located for day trips to see the sights.
Review 79:Taking the remodel into consideration, I was still incredibly disappointed in the "front desk" check in "building". It was dark outside, unorganized, and presented a very unprofessional first impression. Room location was horrible for my family.
Review 80:Room layout of two King bed suites with living room.
Review 81:Free WiFi wasn't always working up to speed.
Review 82:We stayed here for a trip to the Grand Canyon. It was a great location, the staff was very friendly and the Grab-and-Go breakfast was fantastic! The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Review 83:When I tried to book an extra night, it appeared that It was very difficult for the staff member to comprehend and process. Her knowledge base was very limited. I bet , however, she looked cute!
Review 84:The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The service was great.
Review 85:Newly remodeled & pet friendly. They have a large area for pets to play or have a picnic. Staff are very friendly , professional & knowledgeable about the area.
Review 86:To be honest, this was the first time my family had no complaints. We travel quite a bit.
Review 87:The room was very nice, everything appeared to be brand new. It was more than we expected. The staff was very nice as well. I wasn't at all inconvenienced by the lobby being under construction. We loved being able to play in the snow on the property.
Review 88:Property was being upgraded so common area was not accessible for breakfast and evening activities. Temporary but wasn't aware of the construction until we arrived.
Review 89:Location was great, not far from major streets, beautiful surroundings. Staff was excellent, rooms were very clean and comfortable, just like being at home! We would return.
Review 90:Although all appliances were brand new, the fridge/freezer was a noisy distraction particularly at night.
Review 91:The included complimetry breakfast was excellent in terms of variety and value. A pleasant location and well equipped and comfortable suit ensured a pleasant stay at a competitive price. Recommended.
Review 92:A little noisy since the person upstairs was heavy footed. Refrigerator a little noisy.
Review 93:Newly renovated rooms are very clean and comfortable. Very quiet neighborhood.
Review 94:The hotel was having a major update of all public areas, so we did not see the reception area or breakfast room at all.It will be good when it is completed
Review 95:I enjoyed relaxing by the pool. The staff were very friendly
Review 96:welcoming in a hidden and tiny temporary hut, poor breakfast, the full price without any discount given the inconvenience of the ongoing works that were not mentioned by booking.com prior to my reservation.
Review 97:tranquillity, comfort, widness of the room, brand new equipment
Review 98:I'm reaching here because it really has nothing to do with our comfort BUT they could have larger screen TVs. The place is just great otherwise.
Review 99:The room is spacious and well taken care of - we think it was recently renovated.
Review 100:We were under the belief that the fireplace was gas. We could not enjoy a romantic fire because of the lack of firewood.
Review 101:The suite was very spacious and private.
Review 102:Nothing
Review 103:Sonesta current renovating and the new rooms are just lovely. Great beds, wifi fab, checkin easy. Their breakfast room undergoing renovations but breakfast supplies all available to take back to room and great variety. Great stay.
Review 104:Location is remote from downtown. The property is pitched like a fancy resort, but it's not. More like a place where you would rent an apartment when moving to a new town for a job.
Review 105:The place was more like a condominium complex than a hotel. Spacious rooms, as a consequence. Excellent service and good facilities.
Review 106:We were travelling with relatives. Their room had a noisy air conditioner outside the window. But to be fair the manager went out of his way to get it repaired & the problem was resolved.
Review 107:Clean, comfortable accommodation with kitchen. Situated in quiet rural setting. We had a room with view over the golf course.
Review 108:The location is great to enjoy all the festivities during the winter in Flagstaff.
Review 109:We liked everything
Review 110:The location and the hospitality of the staff. Very good
Review 111:Can not think of what I did not like. High rate but I under stand why.
Review 112:Great, comfortable place to stay!
Review 113:The soap and shampoo dispensers did not work.
Review 114:Clean, modern, friendly staff, good breakfast, kitchen with required utensils, very comfortable.
Review 115:Le personnel du comptoir d'accueil très paresseux.
Review 116:L'appartment
Review 117:The hotel was super clean and very comfortable. We loved the park and the breakfast very good
Review 118:Clean, amazing value for money. Didn't want to leave.
Review 119:Close to the freeway but far enough away to be quiet. Easy access to NAU without being in the middle of all the traffic and hubbub.
Review 120:Breakfast could have been better.
Review 121:Friendly service fireplace duck po d n breakfast
Review 122:Full kitchen and very comfortable bed
Review 123:Waste paper basket in bathroom not emptied
Review 124:Breakfast
Review 125:Nice and quiet. No train noise. Friendly staff. Very clean.
Review 126:Colin at the front desk did a great job of taking care of us. The fireplace inside the room was great and breakfast was excellent!
