Review 1：This is a guest house and not a "lodge" as stated by the name. It was also the worst accommodation in terms of staff, friendliness and service. The owners of the "guest house" lives on the property and the feeling we experiences was more on an unwelcome guest that cannot enjoy the facilities.

Review 3：Me and my husband stayed at Bay Lodge for 3 nights for our honeymoon. We absolutely loved it! The views are stunning, staff is very friendly, the rooms are so clean, breakfast is great. If i could give them more points would be 11 out of 10. Exceptional service that makes you feel like you are cruising in a 6 star cruise liner. Definitely will get back and will recommend! Thank you everyone in Bay Lodge for this unforgettable experience!

Review 10：No involvement of owners or managers. Bathroom was not clean, slippery tiles on bedroom floor, could not use hairdryer as there was no plugs available. The quietness in breakfast room, there was just no one except for the waiter to take your food order.No one to say hello, how did you sleep? Just the owner walking by in her Gym clothes not even saying hello.We did not feel welcome at all! We were checked in in one of the backside rooms with views on the street as the owners occupy the rooms to the sea?? Feels like the owners does not really care about the business you feel that they have no interest or passion for the hospitality industry. Very far from local restaurants as well. You have to make use of your own transport or use the Restaurants courtesy buses.

Review 12：There are multiple things that were not so amazing. First of all the room: It was not clean at all. The lady told us that the mirror in our bathroom has just been replaced which we would not have mind, however there were glass chips everywhere. Other then that there were hair flying around which I found very gross. We had a bath tub but none of us wanted to use it. The bed linens had a couple of stains and several flys were in the room (as the windows were open when we came that can happen of course, however as there were mosquitos among them I did not appreciate the windows being open). Otherwise the whole lodge is not cozy and comfortable at all. On the next day we were asked right at check-out time to bring them our towels, I have never been asked such a thing ever before. Staff overall also does not seem very energetic and excited to have guests. And the tiny pool was also closed of with a net. No idea why. Furthermore the windows do not close properly, which is common in SA, however I have never seen something like this before. Overall we found Mossel Bay not worth seeing at all and quite ugly. So we can really neither recommend the lodge here nor the area as such.

Review 13：What is amazing is the location of that lodge right at the beach. They have sun lodges right at the beach which is just amazing. I was sitting there in the morning and one of the staff members was so kind to bring me a cushion to sit on. Breakfast was quite okay, although not to perfectly hygienic as jam and nutella etc. are just in glasses there. The house-made muesli is amazing. You should try it. For breakfast you have a small buffet and order one egg dish in addition. The breakfast area is located with view to the beach which is amazing in the morning. One of the guests was sick and handed over some medication to the guest, so that was really kind.

Review 23：We loved the fire outside - it was like being on the beach. The breakfast outside on the patio, with the breath-taking view of the see was also wonderful. Room and bathroom was spacious and clean. There was plenty of extras to make the stay memorable.

Review 30：Terrible design / layout. Non-beachside room had a patio lookinginto neighbours' yards. People walking to their rooms can see intothe room as well. Doors didn't shut easily and one door had a foothole in it. Also, the ceiling fan was missing a blade, so turning it onaccidentally almost made it rip out of the ceiling.

Review 36：I don't usually write reviews but I think I owe it to the Bay Lodge staff and management. Bay lodge really make you feel especial, they take care of your needs are a really helpful. The manager Natasha is a sweetheart who was always their to help you with a smile. The bed is comfy,the room service is great and the breakfast is something you won't forget. These also have a 5 star hotel close by which was sold out during my stay will try it out as well.
