Reviews for Innisfree House
Review 1:Leaving.
Review 2:Relaxed atmosphere, four poster bed, silver tea and coffee pots, big breakfast, bull finches on the tree outside our window, very warm and helpful staff.
Review 3:We stayed here for 2 weeks and were treated as part of the family. The owners and staff are so friendly and the house itself is just gorgeous! Very quaint and beautiful - great breakfasts - would stay again if we were going to be in the area. 10 stars!!!
Review 4:The rooms seemed a little dated. Parking on premises was slightly tricky as I was the last guest to arrive that evening.
Review 5:The staff member I dealt with was very attentive and helpful. The rooms were clean. The breakfast came quickly and was piping hot.(which I liked). You are given a great selection too choose from food wise.
Review 6:Shower wouldn't stay on one temp continually. There weren't a lot of outlets for charging. The road noise was noticeable all night except from 2am-6am it was quiet.
Review 7:Breakfast was lovely. The home was well decorated. Olga our breakfast server worked with my allergies and was very sweet.
Review 8:Unfortunately the heat was intense but everything else was amazing.
Review 9:The atmosphere and ambiance was comforting and inviting. Breakfast was fantastic and rooms were spacious and full of character.
Review 10:I cannot find fault with this accommodation
Review 11:Traditional surroundings very tastefully decorated. Clean & neat bedrooms Excellent breakfast Stones throw away from town centre Good wifi great staff
Review 12:This is an incredibly comfortable, stylish and well kept guesthouse. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The bed was super comfortable. And within easy walking distance to the town centre.
Review 13:The beds were not too comfortable and tea making was a bit of a fiddle with ground level sockets. This could be difficult for less able bodied persons.
Review 14:Excellent location and accommodation. Very good breakfast and faultless staff.
Review 15:Power-Shower failed temporarily on the second day.
Review 16:Nice staff, quiet during the night, due to available Bus connection good as an affordable alternative before catching an early flight from Dublin Airport.
Review 17:Two glasses inthe room were very dirty I felt the room didn't reflect what I saw on the site . We were given a room two floors up which was completely overcrowded with furniture bed linen has seen better days!
Review 18:The staff were absolutely lovely and on their toes the fire at breakfast was a lovely touch . The breakfast was fab really enjoyed it.
Review 19:No hot water, broken tiles on floor in shower room - husband cut foot on these. No where to plug in the kettle. Manager was not interested - told that we could leave right then if we wanted our money back ! We had been in the B&B an hour & half & were heading out for a family party so were not in a position to find other accommodation at that time. Left next morning. Called the 'Edwardian Experience' but we didn't want to go that far back in time !! Could have been handled better by manager.
Review 20:Leaving !
Review 21:Everything was great.
Review 22:Breakfast was lovely. Room had everything you needed. Anything you didn't have you only had to ask and it was provided. Friendly staff.
Review 23:Single bed
Review 24:Excellent staff, they had keys ready for me even though I arrived hours late. Breakfast was served by a woman dressed with white gloves, a fire burning walk to train. Nice town centre within a mile.
Review 25:I was very impressed with the attention to detail at this beautiful quaint guesthouse. It is a period house decorated with gorgeous antique furniture. The best of china and silverware used for breakfast service. It was like Downton Abbey and even the waitress was wearing a formal uniform with white service gloves. The breakfast was yummy ( I had french bread with rashers). The service was fantastic and the whole experience made me feel very pampered. I simply loved this place
Review 26:This is not really a complaint, but I wish the necessarily small ensuite bathroom could have been furnished with a couple of rimmed shelves for holding toiletries. There's understandably no sink counter space available, so shelves would be nice. I've wished the same in several of the B&B's I stayed in on this trip.
Review 27:The house is a real beauty, brick, multi-storied, convenient urban location. The period furnishings add a special touch. The host, Ronnie, was very personable, steering us to a good restaurant nearby and offering some wonderful stories about other American visitors uncovering their Irish ancestors.
Review 28:Everything was just excellent
Review 29:loved the details and decoration of the guesthouse - very old world yet all the modern facilities like wiifii, tea/coffee, hot shower, etc. Warm open fire at breakfast a real treat! Breakfast was very good and nicely presented. Cutlery, delph, etc. of very good quality. All Staff welcoming and polite. Room very comfy and warm and slept very well. Great location for the town.
Review 30:Nothing.
Review 31:EVERYTHING! The Whole experience was a delight, I only wish we could have stayed longer. The breakfast was the best I have had and the staff were so so friendly. It was like stepping back in time, this was reflected in the whole character of the house and the bedroom was warm and inviting.
Review 32:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 33:The place was one of lovely style and grandeur without the tiredness or dust that sometime accompany places like it.
Review 34:Location close to Railway station & town center. Beautifully furnished in Edwardian style, more like a luxury boutique hotel. Good old-fashioned hospitality.
Review 35:Couldn't close bathroom window (no handle)
Review 36:Nice friendly staff, especially the girl who served breakfast. You can see that owners have put in a lot of effort to maintain the place. Only stayed for one night. Staff helped me call a taxi.
Review 37:Whilst the bar area is pictured on the B&B's page it is unfortunately not available for guests of the B&B. We were advised that the bar is only available for use by "private functions". The welcome pack states that drinks and snacks can be ordered from reception direct to your room. Again, this service was also unavailable.
Review 38:Great value for money.
Review 39:Beautiful place, very welcoming and accommodating staff due to our late check in.Would highly recommend this property to anyone and will definitely come back should we be in the area again
Review 40:Beautifully appointed dining room with a peat fire burning in the grate ensured that the breakfast experience had the wow factor. Every encounter with the staff made us feel welcome and at ease.
Review 41:Shower could be cleaner, towels to small, broken window in bathroom
Review 42:Location was great and room was comfortable, lovely, great choice and good quality breakfast
Review 43:We thought we would have a very nice hotel for the last night of our trip but it was right the opposite. The beds were the worst we had, they were very old and uncomfortable; they shouldn't offer room 7 before they renovate them. The shower after a very bad night didn’t work properly and we had warm water only some minutes, it needs to be reviewed. The pictures in the advertisement are confusing because they do not have a bar in the same house as it is shown.
Review 44:Breakfast was nice.
Review 45:I was given the managers bedroom which contained all his belongings. this made the stay feel very strange and i found it hard to relax. wish i had said something at the time.
Review 46:Disappointed with bathroom amenities, no shower gel, no shampoo just a small bar of soap. Breakfast served with silver cutlery and high quality table ware so lack of bathroom amenities seems bit odd. Other than that perfect place to stay!
Review 47:Clean place with a character and very friendly staff! Highly recommended!
Review 48:This was a one night stay. We arrived late and got checked in very quickly. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great sleep. Breakfast the next morming was very homely with cooked breakfast and juice, tea and toast. The staff were very friendly. Would recommend.
Review 49:Friendly reception staff member, nice building and room - all clean and comfortable. Handy for train station and a good nearby bar..Had said I didn't want to eat breakfast there as such but would like a bacon sandwich wrapped up for my train journey and they were very happy to oblige.
Review 50:Only slight drawback was that with original sash windows not converted to double glaze (thankfully), noise protection from traffic on Carrick road is that bit less. Not huge issue though.
Review 51:Absolutely beautiful redbrick Georgian building with original furnishings. Interior is stunning. Really unique and tremendously atmospheric. Staff very professional and friendly.
Review 52:There's no any room for a single person so that I had to sleep in a room with 2 beds and I hadn't the space I would like
Review 53:Decoration and Breakfast
Review 54:The beds were not very comfortable.
Review 55:Beautiful old house with beautifully decorated rooms and an old world feel. Lovely breakfast served impeccably served by a young waiter who got top marks from us.
Review 56:Unable to stay for breakfast.
Review 57:We arrived late in the evening, the landlady came out to meet us as we were on motocycles and told us we could park round the back in secure parking. We had a twin room which was a good size, beds were comfy, bathroom was also a good size. Our ferry home from dublin was cancelled and the landlady used her computer and also phoned the ferry company for us to find out an alternative crossing. We left at 5.30 am in the morning, landlady offered to get up and make us some breakfast. We told her not to bother but it was a nice gesture. Would stay again.
Review 58:Room I was in had a door to next doors room and you could hear most things. Parking was limited
Review 59:Best value for money. i don't like b&bs but this was brilliant. Bed was cosy. Breakfast was great with a good choice. Staff were pleasant. I will be back.
Review 60:Was a late booking on price and convenience but turned out to be a beautiful old building, very comfortable and great service. Enjoyed our stay very much.
Review 61:The smaller bedroom, although this was likely because all other rooms were taken.
Review 62:We liked the location and also the comfort of the room, although a little bit on the small side this time, hopefully next time we will get one of the larger double rooms, but a very nice frienly place to stay.
Review 63:Rather noisy, the single glazed sah windows do not keep much traffic noise out. Wardrobe door handle came off all the time zinc bathroom fittings were very tired. Lack of personal touch - more like a small hotel than a B&B.
Review 64:Very stylish with magnificent chandeliers everywhere.
Review 65:Internet very very slow, basically useless. You'll not be uploading to Facebook any photos of the lough.
Review 66:Slightly quirky but rather wonderful deco, apparently modelled on Edwardian style. Big old-fashioned room quite different from my friends room. Great location 10 minute walk from the middle of Dundalk. I would most probably have paid more, and while it was a second choice will make it first choice for re-visit.
Review 67:The shower in the room next to mine was so loud that when my neighbor took a shower at midnight, it woke me from a sound sleep! The wifi was also a bit spotty, which made it hard to use my evenings to do work as I had planned. Other than that, things were great, though!
Review 68:The owners were very nice and personable. I really enjoyed talking to them, and felt that they went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable.
Review 69:The house and furnishings are beautiful. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and made to order. The room was well stocked with coffee, tea, etc.
Review 70:Close to the road, no hairdryer
Review 71:Really nice and friendly place with cozy atmosphere and great breakfast! Rooms look fancy and pleasant. Enjoyed the stay a lot.
Review 72:Had to ask for iron and hairdryer. No hot water the next morning so no shower. The night we stayed a group of visitors remained in the sitting room with the door open and could be heard all over the house and did not shut up until 1 am.
Review 73:The staff were polite and helpful.
Review 74:For me personally the matress and pillow were not as comfortable. Thats the only dislike I can think of.
Review 75:Amazing interior, friendly owner and staff, really good breakfast, free parking, tea/coffee making facilities in the room, extremely spacious room and bathroom, cozy room.
Review 76:Wifi connection was not the best, and the number of sockets available was pretty limited
Review 77:Most importantly, the beds were good and the breakfast was very good aswell.
Review 78:Loved the house absaloutley goergues our room was so beautiful and comfy
Review 79:It was one if the best guest houses we stayed in. Loved the peace and quiet and the Edwardian House.
