Reviews for Stagecoach Motel Colorado Springs

Review 1:A surprisingly excellent value. I wasn't expecting much for the price, but though the building was older it was well maintained, the rooms are not adjoining, so no worries about noisy neighbors. Really clean and great staff. Plus coveted parking adjoining each room. I will be staying there again.

Review 2:Some of the electrical outlets are still 2-prong so bring an extension cord if you need to power a laptop. The curtains are a single layer that block out light. Wish there was a second layer that let in light but still affords a little privacy. This property is in a 2-block area with older period motels and a few shady characters (locals refer to this part of Nevada Ave as "downtown"). But I always felt safe and never had any problems. The courtyard layout and lighting help in that regard. Interestingly, the two blocks are surrounded by a typically modern city!

Review 3:Good value for a multi-day stay. Close to shopping & restaurants. The friendly owner Francis has tons of info on sights to see. This property was built shortly after WW2 so shows its age but is amazingly clean. Very quiet heating in winter (owner said it was steam heating), plenty of hot water, my own carport! My room had a fridge, microwave, and small flat panel TV. This motel is not for spoiled Princesses. Do not expect a cushy Marriot or Starwood property as this is just the basics. Good home base when you won't be in the room much.

Review 4:Neighborhood a lil rough looking but overall great stay. Will return with fam.

Review 5:Nice and clean for price you pay. Great location for garden gods, seven falls, manitou Springs and downtown area.

Review 6:overall very good facilities, except no ice machine.

Review 7:Excellent value, very clean and comfortable bed. Also very close to historical area, Garden of the Gods. OwnerFrance very helpful

Review 8:No coffee,in room or lobby. It's a very important thing to an avid morning coffee drinker.

Review 9:The retro Route 66 feel was great. Comfy bed. Great parking with sheltered carport,

Review 10:I booked long ahead. When I showed up for a 2 night stay, was put a room that had a connector door to make it 3 BR if necessary. I was told I would have to change rooms the next day if they needed it for another guest who wanted the connection. Since I was working all day the second day, meant I had to pack up again, take my stuff out, and "recheck" in for the second night into another room. That really disrupted my stay.

Review 11:The place is run by an middle aged Asian woman who is lovely and allowed me to check in early. The place was neat and clean, and I felt safe there as a woman traveling alone.

Review 12:I ran over the curb!! LOL access to road - limited .

Review 13:Quaint quiet and a very lovely owner. You cannot judge a book by its cover and same goes for this hotel. Loved it !

Review 14:I was not able to stay long enough to really enjoy the garden.

Review 15:Frances, the owner for thirty years was so welcoming and great at giving suggestions on where to go and what to do. The this is such a neat well preserved travel motel, clean as a whistle. Just off I-25 so it is easy to get around Colorado Springs, I am going to send my friends here.

Review 16:Staff consisted of a couple of people as far as we could tell. Very nice people. Rooms were clean and adequate for our stay. The area around the motel is not the best in town but, felt safe at the hotel

Review 17:None

Review 18:Lovely, very well maintained, vintage motel. The rooms are large, very clean, and the covered parking is a great plus. The staff make you feel at home and are very helpful; giving good advice. I'm coming back and recommend it highly to anyone who enjoys reliving the heyday of automobile travel.

Review 19:We felt we received a good value for the price. It was an older motel and a little out dated, but had a retro charm about it. It was nice that our room had a microwave and refrigerator in it.

Review 20:Bed in alcove got very little air from a/c. Matress not very comfortable.

Review 21:Carport right outside your door is nice. Quiet. Nearby eateries & sundries stores.

Review 22:Do remember that you must approach this motel from the north bound lanes of S. Nevada. If headed south, just go to the next traffic light and use it for a quick turn around to head north.

Review 23:This motel was sooo much more than expected. Would recommend to anyone who loves vintage, comfort, and being treated home style special. Plentiful food and shopping options close by. I'm recommending it to all my friends and will be back at my first opportunity.

Review 24:Area near the hotel is sort of run down Water pressure in shower was low

Review 25:Room was adequate. Neat for each room to have its own carport to park in

Review 26:The area of the hotel was a little sketchy. The shower temperature knob was mislabeled. And the bed was a little firm.

Review 27:I liked the price of the room, and the lady in the office, Frances, was very friendly and informative. Each room also got its own covered parking area, so no rooms were sharing walls. The hotel is a single story hotel, that was also nice.

Review 28:There were ants in the bathroom. The bathroom window crank was broken so I had to close it by hand and there wasn't a lock. One of the beds was like a trampoline - fun to bounce on but not great to sleep on. The street the hotel is on was a little sketchy. The bathroom door didn't shut or have a way to lock.

Review 29:The carport was really nice - I enjoyed not having any neighbors on my walls. It was very quiet. The size of the room was great - it was nice having a "second" room. The lady in the front office was friendly and quick to help out when we blew a fuse in our room (2 girls with 2 blow dryers going will do that sometimes...). The location was close to where we needed to be all weekend.

Review 30:First room we were given had a strong smell as if the previous guests were smoking inside the room although hotel advertises that all rooms are non smoking. The owner/manager quickly gave us another room that was just fine all around.

Review 31:Value for the price. Each room has its own carport. Quite a few restaurants within walking distance.

Review 32:It was easy on and off the Interstate. For a busy area, it was quiet. The staff was very accomadating. Also, close to eating places. Vintage, but nice. Car ports for each room.

Review 33:Old outdated property in seedy neighborhood. Room had a stench of cleaning spray to mask odors. Deadbolt only works from inside. Take your valuables with you if you go to dinner, better yet don't stay here.

Review 34:This is a very old motel so the accommodations were old; the electricaloutlet, located on the dresser, was a surge suppressor with only 3vacant spots; the refrigerator, tv and microwave all shared the samesuppressor. No cabinet in bathroom, so no room for bathroom items, etc.Our sheets were clean but had burn holes in them and the washcloths wereclean but discolored and raveling out. The air conditioner was too loudto run during the night. The motel and the rooms are "retro",but clean." You cannot turn left into the motel, right turns only.

Review 35:The location was convenient to I-25 and the staff was pleasant andhelpful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We had a private, garage like, parking spot next to our room.

Review 36:Very clean & very quiet. Loved the carport!! Owner very nice & helpful. Convenient to many nice place to eat. We at breakfast at IHOP. Had supper at ON THE BORDER. Walmart near by. It is old but VERY well cared for. Won't find anything any cleaner!!!!!

Review 37:The rooms are very dated the bathroom especially was old and the toilet was almost on the ground it was so outdated Owners kindness and the cleanliness made up for the out dated place

Review 38:This is great location to downtown without the high high downtown hotel prices We did have a car for the short drive Owner was very nice and room was super clean

Review 39:Very quaint hotel. Loved the courtyard. We were traveling with a group and the courtyard was a great place to sit and visit at the end of the day. Also covered parking.

Review 40:Lack of nearby eating establishments.

Review 41:Comfortable room at a great price. Enjoyed the ambiance of a traditional motor court style of lodging (appreciated the carport also).

Review 42:Neighborhood a little sketchy at night.

Review 43:Room layout is unique. Also, each room has a car-port. Bargain compared to other motels in the same price range.

Review 44:No bad experience. The location is a little sketchy, but as my detective friends told me, the Motel is on the east side of the road, so it's okay.....

Review 45:Great value for the money. The Motel itself was very well kept.

Review 46:No coffee pot in room

Review 47:Awesome people who own/manage place!!! Yes, it is a little dated, but extremely clean and cared for!! Carport was a great bonus next to room!

Review 48:The Stagecoach was clean and comfortable. It was an excellent value. Frances, the owner was very nice and accommodating. We liked the style -- old, but very well maintained. The individual carport for our room was unique in our experience, and handy!

Review 49:Simple quiet affordable room. When I'm on vacation I just wanted a quiet room to sleep in. I don't need all the extras. What a good idea to have a carport between each room.

Review 50:Does not apply

Review 51:This was a wonderful place to stay. The lady that runs it was lovely and her dog was adorable. She loved the vine ripe tomato and cucumber I give her from Oklahoma. I will stay there again when I go that way.

Review 52:This is one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed while traveling. The owner is very helpful, kind and informative regarding the surrounding area.

Review 53:My plane was delayed and did not reach Colorado Springs until 1am. They left the room unlocked for me and let me do all of the checkin stuff in the morning. Very pleasant staff, accommodating, and great room for the price.

Review 54:Colorado City's traffic patterns and street layouts leave a lot to be desired. Hard to get into the motel, sometimes.

Review 55:My wife and I both felt like we were reliving the heyday of Route 66 type traveling.

Review 56:In the morning somebody tried to enter in the room, claiming that it belonged to him.

Review 57:The room was big and clean. It was divided in two sub-rooms with queen size beds, plus the restroom.

Review 58:The wifi didn't always come in.

Review 59:The woman who runs the motel is so down to earth and caring. It is centrally located to get to most anything the Springs has to offer. Have stayed here in the past. The individualized carports are great!

Review 60:Shower pressure was out of control. New beds would be nice.

Review 61:Liked the carport feature. Furniture/decor is dated, but I suppose it adds to the motel's charm.

Review 62:The lobby stank of dog urine, the bathroom was old and tiny, it was really hard to open the door worth my key, no coffee machine in the room.

Review 63:The room was big, could park my car undercover right next to my room. The lady was nice.

Review 64:Motel appeared dated from the outside but was very clean inside and comfortable. Wi-fi worked great. Bathroom was definitely early 1950's vintage but extremely clean.

Review 65:The bed for us was way hard. However if you like a firm mattress you will love it. The motel is a little worn needs some updates.

Review 66:The Manager was wonderful and a delight to speak with. Room very clean and charming.

Review 67:Noisy heater/cooler in the night which I had to off . That needs servicing to get sound sleep

Review 68:Approachable and helpful motel manager Clean accommodation.

Review 69:The beds were hard, and it's in a not so nice part of town, and the getting in and out of the motel was a little difficult.

Review 70:I liked the cleanness of the room, the friendliness of the staff, and the price was well worth it.

Review 71:Clean as can be. Car ports on each side of the room provided a great sound buffer. We got a quiet nights sleep despite being on a busy city street. The 50s decor, was a blast from the past. The owner was gracious and helpful.

Review 72:I had no disappointments as my expectations were about what I found here.

Review 73:I was looking for a place to stay that was near where I was doing business, safe, clean, and quiet. I always got clean towels and clean sheets on the bed. The wifi worked fine, and the tv had a ton of stations on it. I got all those things with this motel.

Review 74:Toilet overflowed in the middle of the night and flooded the bathroom floor I almost fell in the mess management accussed me of breaking the toilet and demanded I pay her cash to replace the toilet or she woukd call the police. Of course I refused as the toilet was still in working order. Just very unreasonable people.

Review 75:Price

Review 76:Bathroom so compact that sink sticks out in front of toilet. Had to jiggle wall plug on power strip to get TV to come on.

Review 77:Family business; greeted at the office door by a small friendly dog. Refrigerator in room was very useful. Price was fabulous!

Review 78:it was a bit cold at the beginning, and it took more than 30 minutes for the room to warm

Review 79:I like the way it is built, with parking spaces right next to each room; also, the desk person was extremely nice and chatty, and gave me lots of useful information about Colo Springs

Review 80:I traveled alone to attend the funeral of a family member in the Springs. I needed a quiet, clean, affordable place to stay, and the Stagecoach filled the bill. I stayed there on a Wednesday night; the staff was very pleasant, and the room was quiet. Though an older building, it has been well-maintained, and includes small niceties like a refrigerator and microwave. Each room has an adjoining covered carport to park your vehicle. My room had two queen beds, one in its own very cozy bedroom. It would be a bit close quarters for a family of 4, but plenty adequate for a couple. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Review 81:This place is a gem- an old fashioned motel with a nice vibe, cool bathrooms, and great customer service. Walking distance from just about everything you need, including a good Pho restaurant!

Review 82:The only thing a bit annoying is that it's kinda located in a bad part of town. Cab drivers would tell me they avoid picking people up in that area especially right after the 1st of the month (which is when I happenned to be there). I was still able to get cabs, although one time I had to call twice. It's probably better if you have a car to drive yourself around. And if you have to schedule a pick-up time to get back to the airport, tell them to make a note it's for an airport ride.

Review 83:The staff is very nice, the place is old but it's clean and overall a good value. Close to a grocery store and several stripmalls. It's also nor far from several hicking places. Being able to make local calls from the room with no charges is nice.

Review 84:We did see some ants in our room the first night there, we got some spray and dealt with it w/o issue.

Review 85:The lady who runs it was nice and was able to add 2 extra nights to our original reservation. The cleaning staff woke me up the first day we were there (330pm) - as I work nights. We were staying here in between apartments. I asked they not return and they didn't until the last evening - I think just to make sure we hadn't trashed it. But, were very nice about it all.

Review 86:See what I liked at think about everything I said I liked now worse.

Review 87:Nothing the room was funky smelling and it made me sneeze like crazy! _there's s door locked connecting rooms, it was terrible. I liked the free wifi

Review 88:The hot water just wouldn't heat up in the bathroom sink to wash my face.

Review 89:I loved the car port and not having to hear neighbors. Also my friend got her own little room. Cute place.

Review 90:The owner wasn't very plesent this time.the room had dry banana peels hanging from the lamp. And the room was smaller than usual. I booked a king bed and she didn't have one so we ended up paying 44.00 a night instead of 36.00

Review 91:The bed was good as always..

Review 92:The only thing I didn't like was that I had to leave. Wish I could have stayed another week.

Review 93:The owner and staff were very thoughtful and accommodating. The carports for each room were really great during heavy snow.

Review 94:The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't stay longer. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area

Review 95:The owner of the motel was super friendly and helpful. Even though it was a small hotel, they still supplied daily housekeeping service. It was in a central location that made it easy to get where I wanted without having to hit downtown streets.

Review 96:We asked for two rooms side by side and ended up at opposite ends.

Review 97:The staff was friendly and helpful. It was clean. Convenient location to the attractions we wanted to see. Great price considering we only went to the motel to sleep.

Review 98:I read several reviews on this property before I booked, and after a recent stay, I can say that overall I liked the place. My philosophy is that there are some people that will never be satisfied. When I pay 39 dollars for a room, I know what I'm getting: typically spartan conditions and amenities. That's what I expected, that's what I got. Not a bad thing, as this property has a certain charm that's hard to put your finger down on. You won't find in room coffee but at checkout the lady at the front desk happily offered a cup of joe before I left. You get your own covered carport, which is nice, and these carports separate the rooms, so chances are you won't hear your neighbor at all. Despite being on a busier street, I slept soundly through the night and woke up refreshed. If you're looking for charm and a budget place, this is it.

Review 99:Reserved a king bed but got queen.

Review 100:Carport for each room? Who does that? Nice desk staff that speaks English and coffee that doesn't taste like water

Review 101:I needed wifi and their signal was very weak and sometimes I would lose the connection alltogether. Wifi is not an extra in this day and that needs to be updated so that all rooms can reach a strong signal. I could not stay there again without that benefit.

Review 102:Quiet and simple lodging. Old establishment but clean and well kept. Staff was great.

Review 103:Everywhere you touch was filthy...Sign on door of office saying she'd be back in 45 min.when wanting to check in after 14 hrs on road...no coffee maker in rooms

Review 104:Shower bed carport

Review 105:Bathroom too small for a big guy like me Heating was not adequate

Review 106:The price of the room The carport for my car The availability of a frig and microwave

Review 107:The location is convenient to a supermarket (Safeway), several restaurants, and about a block from the interstate. There was a new flat screen, excellent WiFi, great service and the manager was pleasant, helpful and friendly. We will absolutely stay here again.

Review 108:Drawers in the 1950's style dresser were coming apart - made them difficult to use.

Review 109:Rooms are clean and quiet. Room was cleaned and towels replaced daily. Bed was very comfortable. Room had a microwave and small refrigerator but no coffee pot (I brought my own). Outlets are not grounded, so bring an adapter if you have 3-prong appliances. Owner/manager is wonderfully welcoming and friendly.

Review 110:Our closet smelled like it had been wet at one point and just molded out. Locked pur doors to go out and they had went in there and taken something of mine and put our blanket in that closet. And opened our pizza boxes.

Review 111:Making reservations is easy online. The Wifi and tv and water and beds are really nice. The rooms are cozy and warm. Livable space.

Review 112:Each unit is isolated from the other by the covered garages affording even more privacy. The layout of the motel makes you feel removed from the busy streets. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great value!

Review 113:Only having to leave!

Review 114:The owner was lovely -- so friendly and willing to help. She even brewed a new pot of coffee for me! The rooms were much nicer than the price would indicate, and my room included a refrigerator and microwave.

Review 115:The shower pressure was great but the water gets all over the bathroom floor due to not long enough shower curtains. Wifi connection was very week so wasn't able to use our laptop.

Review 116:The staff were very friendly. It was quiet, the room was clean.

Review 117:location is sketchy so I wouldn't suggest walking around the neighborhood.

Review 118:Loved the covered parking for my car especially since it snowed! 7-11 right next door. Nice & quiet. Rooms don't smell of cigarettes.

Review 119:Furniture was a bit aged but useable. Bathroom was retro but everything worked fine. Did not like plastic cover under the sheets in the bed, but I guess it keeps it clean.

Review 120:Few minutes drive from downtown Colorado springs and manitou. Safe area. Car ports were awesome! Rooms were spacious and bathroom was clean. Owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Had mini fridge, microwave and new TV.

Review 121:Only problem was there was a knife that we found in the bed which was slightly unsettling

Review 122:The motel was overall nice and exactly what I was looking for

Review 123:When the temperature outside fell to -13, the heater could not keep the room above 63 degrees, but space heaters are available to borrow from the office.

Review 124:The covered carport right next to the room is very convenient, especially during extreme winter weather. It is an amazingly quiet hotel considering the busy area.

Review 125:Two beds, one in an alcove, perfect for me and my 16 yr old grandson. Warm and cozy, quiet, very comfortable. Manager accomodating--we were very late getting in due to weather and she was understanding. Off the street, carport each room.

Review 126:That I couldn't stay longer.

Review 127:I love the privacy and hominess. An eclectic feel from the '40s. Bed was more comfortable than in many high priced hotels I've stayed in. Great value!! Very comfortable and clean. The shower is awesome! Heat was always steady and just right in the room and bathroom and the hot water perfect. Staff is also very friendly and accommodating.

Review 128:Located in a depressing area but never felt unsafe it's got a lot of people down on there luck and pulls at the heart strings but not the fault of the stagecoach

Review 129:Nice great bang for your buck
