Reviews for Little America Hotel Flagstaff

Review 1:A shame that the new facilities are not finished. Not really a problem though.

Review 2:I was stranded in Flagstaff in a snow storm as I was trying to get to the airport. The hotel send a car + my luggage and collected me in town and got me to the airport with 10 mins to spare. That was excellent service & greatly appreciate.

Review 3:Dated rooms, mini-fridge literally right in front of the toilet in the bathroom, kind of gross.

Review 4:Large room, free wifi, beautiful grounds had plenty of room to play in the recent snow.

Review 5:Lobby could get a little noisy with the crowds waiting to go to "North Pole" to visit Santa's workshop.

Review 6:Room was clean, bedding is great. Champagne brunch was as usual, outstanding and the staff in the dining room were so polite, pleasant, and helpful.

Review 7:Our waitress was wonderful. Until the end when we waited to order dessert.which we refused after long wait. Then we received bill.instead of cashing us out she continued to wait on large parties ignoring us.

Review 8:Loved the lights! The restaurant's were challenged on Christmas day. The booking should suggest reservations in advance on holidays. We did as advised at check in make dinner reservations.

Review 9:Restaurant inside: some staff not very friendly & food wasn't very bland & very expensive. Found a roach in our room too

Review 10:Spacious rooms and beautiful decorations at Christmas.

Review 11:I have stayed at Little America for the past 8 years I really never have problems. The only thing is the restaurant is always full and I have to go else where.

Review 12:No bad experiences whatsoever. The only thing we miss is the coffee shop that used to be next to the gift shop. But the food in the restaurant is still very good.

Review 13:This is one of our favorite hotels. It's very upscale while offering a great value. The property, rooms, restaurant and common areas are extremely clean and well kept. The rooms have much more space than we've found anywhere we travel. The staff is all very personable and accommodating to the guests. Everyone goes out of their way to make our stay a complete pleasure. And the holiday decorations both inside and out were stunning!

Review 14:I thought the price was really high for the room we had. It was fine, just more older lady chic then the pictures I saw online. Not quite what I had pictured for $209 a night.

Review 15:The lobby was pretty with the huge fireplace and the staff was very nice.

Review 16:We'd secured a great deal online, but we think this resulted in being allocated a room right at the end of the hotel in Block 4 which is close to I40 and therefore very noisy throughout the night. The interstate I40 road is one of the main road freight routes and Flagstaff also has a busy rail road so if you're a light sleeper ask for a room in Block 1-3. Also, while we were there it was freezing temperatures (not uncommon for the time of year), the rooms are lovely and warm, but unfortunately some of the covered walkways which link the accommodation blocks to the restaurant were out of action so we had to use the exterior pathways which were icy and poorly lit.

Review 17:Spacious and comfortable room with fridge, coffee maker and two queen beds. Check-in was effortless. Restaurant is very good. Staff are lovely.

Review 18:No free breakfast.

Review 19:The room is spacious. The hotel has a beautiful & quite footpath. We stay only one night before going to the Grand Canyond, but it is very nich hotel.

Review 20:Nothing

Review 21:Great hotel even if you are travelling to the Grand Canyon. Beautiful rooms and great location, stay here and you won't be disappointed. 11/2 hours from GC but worth it if you are prepared to travel

Review 22:We loved our room. We requested quiet room and it was more than we could've ever hoped for. The breakfast buffet with an omelette was just delicious. Can't wait to return.

Review 23:I thought that it was more pricey than necessary for an older hotel.

Review 24:We didn't get put in a room that had the right number of beds that we needed, and they moved us immediately, and did it with a smile. My kids liked the surrounding grounds they could explore too.

Review 25:Exterior is very off putting. The buildings look old, dated, and a bit run down. The exterior of the entrance does not in any way reflect the lovely interior or high comfort level you will encounter once inside.

Review 26:Everything about the interior is great. Our standard room was extremely large, comfortable, and nicely furnished. Breakfast was good, though a little pricy. Service throughout was excellent. Gas station on premises is very convenient.

Review 27:not really worth high premium price, basically it's still a motel, try for discount deal. Entrance is on very busy intersection, hard to get out sometimes.

Review 28:nice place, convenient to freeway, room was comfortable

Review 29:Great hotel/motel wonderful grounds to walk around in, spacious room, excellent shower and comfortable bed. we ate in the restaurant in the evening and had breakfast there in the morning and both were superb great food with attentive fast efficient service.

Review 30:The service at the restaurant is consistently slow. The rooms and the facility is basically that of a decent motel, and not worth the prices charged. There is no bathroom near the pool which is difficult with small children.

Review 31:The location. The hiking trails and the playground. To

Review 32:Bar staff seemed non-committal to service. Actually complained to front desk...

Review 33:Everything was wonderful as always - have stayed at this property several times

Review 34:Different prices on different days. If a person does a three day stay I feel a discount should be in order . The sheets do not need to be changed, so the cost should be lower .

Review 35:The room and bed were very comfortable.

Review 36:Not disability-friendly; even the ground floor had quite a few steps and there is no lift to the upper floor. The ice-dispensers are not geared to fill the plastic bags provided; even fitting the bag right around the spout resulted in losing more ice than was kept. The food, although plentiful, was pricey for the quality which was distinctly average.

Review 37:The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge - more like a suite than a bedroom. But, why are the fridges in the bathroom, opposite the toilet pan??

Review 38:The temperature in the room was difficult to control.

Review 39:The property was really nice, spacious rooms, cute aesthetic. It was clean, and overall felt like a new property.

Review 40:The room designations outside the buildings are confusing at first until you understand what they are doing.

Review 41:The size, cleanliness and furnishings of the suite.

Review 42:It's getting more pricey than we're going to be able to afford. Seniors on a fixed income are finding it difficult to stay in these nice places.

Review 43:Decor beds and lovely room.

Review 44:Did not have an elevator and I was on second floor.

Review 45:Really cool hotel. Distinct sort of retro vibe. So comfortable. Large room. Beautiful wooded view from window. Walking trails. Would stay here again any chance I had.

Review 46:The location near the motorway could be noisy if your room faces this direction. Staff were great to relocate us on the quiet side for our three nights.

Review 47:Our room was very spacious, comfortable and classically decorated. All staff were friendly and helpful both at the front desk and in the restaurant.

Review 48:It's still a long drive wherever you are going.

Review 49:This is a little pearl in that area. Rooms are really nice and spacious. It's really close to the highway, but rooms are really quiet. Big parking lot. Wifi is working really good.

Review 50:Bld is very dated looking, Coffee maker made terrible coffee.

Review 51:everything worked OK. Beds very comfortable, well located, nice walking paths, great home made chicken noodle soup at bar

Review 52:Charming rooms with retro decor and fixtures. The rooms are very spacious and exceedingly clean. Fast WiFi, great breakfast and very conveniently located property.

Review 53:Room was on second floor of lodge, we couldn't find elevator when coming in with luggage which made things complicated. Restaurant closed at 9pm, which is very early especially when travelling. Perhaps this is unique to the States, as in Europe we would expected restaurants to be open until at least 11pm.

Review 54:Located near to Freeway, but not noisy, but easy to get to and leave from. Staff were very friendly.

Review 55:I love this Hotel. From the minute you walk in the door it's a positive experience, friendly desk staff, I love the rooms because they are decorated in Early American, I felt like I was staying with my sweet old aunt Elsie. The restaurant is wonderful. This was our second visit and we will be back!!!

Review 56:Although the weekend buffet breakfast was excellent, it was a little pricey for breakfast. Excellent staff.

Review 57:I liked the location, room size and comfort, and the beautiful trail on/near the property.

Review 58:At first I was a little dismayed because the hotel is very close to a busy freeway and has an enormous truck stop right next to it. But it was set up in such a way that we were completely unaware of either while we were there. The back of the hotel faces on a large pine forest and they've made walking trails there for anyone to use. We felt like we were nowhere near a city - it was very quiet. A wonderful surprise.

Review 59:I wish I could have stayed longer. While the bathroom was very clean, it was looking as if it needed some upgrading. I wish the coffee pot and refrigerator could had been somewhere in the room other than the bathroom.

Review 60:The woodsy setting and scenery. The grounds were clean, despite construction going on. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room service snack was delightful and breakfast buffet was piping hot and delicious.

Review 61:We especially loved the location in the pines and the walking trail. The room was exactly what we had asked for and it was facing the pines. The restaurant food was exceptional, as was the service. Everyone was friendly and accomodating.

Review 62:The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the mountains from the hotel. All of the staff were extremely friendly. Great central locale to other points of interest such as Grand Canyon and Sedona. Would love to go back sometime.

Review 63:The rooms could use some upgrading to bring the property up to the standards of the 21st century... But we still enjoyed our second stay even more than our first.

Review 64:Beautiful setting. Family oriented with easy access to the Grand Canyon. Particularly liked the open spaces with the pool and the walking trails.

Review 65:Walked into our first room and there was a very strong smell of body odor. It wasn't a musty smell of an old hotel but definitely body odor. The room appeared clean but we decided we wouldn't be able to get a good nights sleep regardless so I called the front desk and they were very nice and quickly changed our room. They said it should not smell like that. The new room had no smell so that was good. Overall though for the price the bed was not very comfortable. Beds at Holiday Inn are better. And there was stains on the pull out sofa bed and hair on the blankets. We made it work for one night but won't stay there again. Too overpriced for what you get.

Review 66:Loved the location nestled in the pine trees and property was very quaint.

Review 67:Was not crazy about the breakfast food quality. Too cool and too boxed taste on pancakes. Server was excellent ..worth more than the meal

Review 68:I liked the grounds and very nice. A little high for the room but still clean and nice. Would try again.

Review 69:Food was pretty good. Rooms are quite large. Pool is gorgeous and relaxing--seems to be the best one in town. 2 miles away from Old Town shopping and restaurants. Convenience store on-site.

Review 70:Checkin didn't make us aware that we were on the second floor and that there are no elevators. No directions posted on walls to help find rooms.

Review 71:Beautiful room with lots of space

Review 72:Rooms are in disrepair, furniture is stained and everything is in need of updates. Especially the "apartment" suite.

Review 73:Restaurant puts out consistently good food, but was understaffed which caused waits.

Review 74:Dude. Do you know how awesome it is to have a great shower after a 9hour drive from Santa Fe thanks to construction/traffic/a couplestops along the way?? I woudl stay here again just for the shower.Seriously. I wish I could take it home with me. No, I'm notoverselling it... You have to experience it... I took three in the 12hours I stayed here. And the room was great, the bead awesome, the hd tvwas cool, and had great picture... Did I mention the gd shower?!?Holy... The shower man! Dude....

Review 75:Appearance and decor of the hotel are a little dated, but thgis does not detract from the experience of staying there. Location is not in town centre so cannot walk into Flagstaff.

Review 76:Quiet location. Room faced extensive pine woodland. Very clean and comfortable.

Review 77:There weren't enough vegetarian options on the restaurant menu for evening meal. On the wrong side of the I-40 from town.

Review 78:The lovely woodland gardens and friendly informal atmosphere. Huge king size room with comfy seating area.

Review 79:The breakfast buffet was poor quality. I've eaten many times at the Little America in Salt Lake City and the food was delicious. I expected more from the Flagstaff LA.

Review 80:I loved the grounds and the rooms were pretty and clean. We had an enjoyable stay there!

Review 81:I have asthma, and I made a special request that no fragrance or strong chemicals be used in the room. The room was wonderful! Clean, nice seating areas and a lovely bath room. Would highly recommend Little America to family and friends.

Review 82:The location was easy to find and enter but the exit to the street & freeway was difficult with the busy traffic.

Review 83:Room was very comfortable & staff very friendly & helpful. Plenty of parking for a large facility. Wish we could have stayed more than one night.

Review 84:No Breakfast included. The I-40 road noise was the only drawback to this property.

Review 85:The pool was well maintained, and the grounds were beautiful and clean. Plenty of parking, very very quiet place to stay.

Review 86:Noisey kids around pool. Why does every kid have to shout.

Review 87:Good location on way to Grand Canyon. Lovely room and comfy bed. Flagstaff is a nice town. Black Barts across the road from main entrance worth a visit.

Review 88:we didn't have a bad experience. We just wish the pool was open longer than 10:00.

Review 89:loved how clean and spacious the room was! Also, the surrounding property was very beautiful!

Review 90:Expensive for a very basic hotel. Very dated rooms, didn't deserve the $260 per night price tag. There's a holiday inn across the road, which in retrospect would have made a more practical stopping off point

Review 91:Nature trail was nice

Review 92:Wifi not fantastically strong, drops in and out. We were there over Fathers Day weekend, and no buffet breakfast on the Sunday. Alternative was ridiculously expensive. Shame.

Review 93:Room was very spacious, well appointed and immaculate. Great soft furnishings. Quiet with lovely view of pool area. Reception staff were very helpful. Free wifi. Thank you we would happily return.

Review 94:We were upgraded to an apartment room upon arrival. Room was immaculate, with washer/dryer and kitchenette; 3 balconies and large living area space.

Review 95:There is nothing to dislike about this hotel.Everything has been done to make you welcome.

Review 96:This is a great hotel in a great location, the food is excellent, the pool area is fantastic everthing about this hotel is good if I could I would give them 12/10. Wonderful staff

Review 97:We were so pleased with our first night on our way through Flagstaff that we immediately booked another night. There was nothing disappointing about our experience.

Review 98:Difficult geting in and out of the property because of the location being directly by the Interstate. The corners and short distances to get your berrings are confusing and unsafe for the driverr

Review 99:The cleanliness of the property.

Review 100:The dinners were fabulous, neither of us particularly liked the breakfast. The rest of the stay was wonderful! The dinners were fabulous, neither of us particularly like the breakfast. The rest of

Review 101:I love the rooms, the gift shop, in the overall ambience of this Little America .

Review 102:The temperature of the pool on the first day was a little too cold. The second day it was perfect.

Review 103:Fabulous buffett. Loved the walking trail, the solitude of Lodge 4, and the Jacuzzi.

Review 104:Hotel staff have accommodated me so well as an emergency arose upon my arrival. They went out of their way to make me comfortable and help me through.

Review 105:Nothing to complain about.

Review 106:The staff was professional and perfect at all levels. The room was spacious and very clean. Everything was as you would expect it to be.

Review 107:The way they have the heating & cooling system setup ( for certain time of year ) not good for people that has problems dealing with certain climate

Review 108:Pool, the hiking trail

Review 109:We had no bad experiences. This is an older hotel with outdated rooms and amenities. We expected more with the higher online rating this hotel has received.

Review 110:Staff was friendly and helpful, location and picturesque view.

Review 111:Leaving!!

Review 112:Location - handy but quiet. Food was excellent and reasonably priced- not worth going anywhere else to eat. Staff were generally locals and very nice

Review 113:The restaurant was a disappointment. The food was average (dinner), the service was slow, and the price was high. Would not eat at the restaurant again. For as nice as this hotel is I expected a better dining experience.

Review 114:The room is large by any standards and very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, the appearance of the hotel is inviting.

Review 115:No elevators for 2nd floor access so be aware of that when checking in.

Review 116:The preferred King was spacious with a 50's-60's Hollywood glam to it all. Bed was comfortable with a decorating style that is hard to describe.

Review 117:The hallways smelled stuffy and was setting my wife's asthma off. Room service slow and food in restaurant was terrible. We had breakfast elsewhere.

Review 118:Location pool Jacuzzi are awesome. The grounds beautiful, gift shop is awesome.

Review 119:Tub would not drain.the rooM was not as pictured. Way overpriced wen there was Marriott courtyard 1/2 mile for half price of this hotel.our appetizers was not baked it was put in microwave with wrong kind of cheese.

Review 120:Bar and restaurant available. Location

Review 121:The room was very large and comfortable. Very quiet and serene surroundings. Hotel grounds were immaculate. Professional front desk staff. Would definitely stay here again!!

Review 122:Easy to get to the highway, but location seemed a bit rough when we first arrived. It's not in a dangerous spot, but doesn't look very pleasant.

Review 123:Room was a bit dated, but very comfortable. WiFi worked most of the time.

Review 124:Loved the staff and the shop was very reasonable. The room was excellent, large with a big bathroom. The bed comfortable. The dining room had a great view with squirrels running about from the window. The food was good and great value for money. Great wine list. The best hotel in Flagstaff.

Review 125:its hard pulling out of the lot and merging onto traffic

Review 126:its clean, very large rooms, nice staff, closet downtown and we loved the hiking trails just out the door.

Review 127:Piano music gone; serving at the restaurant was delayed, forgot details of the orders as we are picky clients Forgot to substitute my husb mash for veggies. I waited for lemon for my fish a long time

Review 128:Location, room size, furniture, comfort. Balcony opened to a beautiful tree in bloom. This is our 5th stay here and we miss the live piano music you used to have

Review 129:I love the area, the surroundings, being comfortable, Our room was clean, it smelled good. The staff was accommodating and helpful when we checked in and during our stay. We very much enjoyed our brief stay.

Review 130:That children were allowed to jump around in hot tub after dark. Could limit access by children after dark.

Review 131:Heated pool & hot tub. Restaurant & staff. Size of room. Proximity to gas & store. Beautiful view of mountain. Close to Grand canyon. Staff recommended great scenic drive to Grand Canyon.

Review 132:charging for local phone calls is a bit tight!

Review 133:the hotel is surrounded by woodland, so you can go for a walk, but you can't easily walk anywhere from the htel, it is right in the edge of town. The rooms are massive and very nice.
