Reviews for Hotel Sabot D'Or

Review 1:Beautifully refurbished to high standards. Visited hotel 25 years ago with a school trip and was very quaint then, now up to 21st Century modern design but retains the same ambience of a warm and welcoming Belgian hotel. This is a family run hotel and they take great pride in making sure their customers are happy. We have met three generations of this family and it was wonderful to see the business thriving. It's very easy to find and a very good place to stay if you are travelling to Bruges, Gent, Brussels and Dunkirk. Only twenty minutes easy drive to Bruges. Hotel room was clean and comfortable with ample pillows, soap and towels. Breakfast is plentiful and is continental with extras such as boiled eggs. Good tea and coffee, including decaffeinated if required. An early evening meal is available too and smelled delicious. We didn't have dinner because we'd had a big lunch in Bruges and were looking forward to a long walk on the beach and a light supper whilst we were out. Plenty of places to eat in Blankenberge and some right next door to the hotel including a fish restaurant. Single garages are available to rent at the hotel, at a daily rate, we were pleased with this because of the security and other parking is situated quite a distance away from the property. They can cater for taller vehicles like camper vans too. We are definitely looking forward to returning for a longer stay next time.

Review 2:Didn't realize when booking that we were booking the annex reached by walking thro a car garage past a garage park to the room!! Very dated which is not what the pictures show annoyingly. The noise from the main road makes it impossible to sleep at all as there's no air con so the window open is a must

Review 3:Nice staff. Breakfast nice. Lovely trendy well decorated main hotel (not the one we got!!)

Review 4:Maybe the breakfest would be a bit borring by a longer stay (no vagetables).

Review 5:The room and bathroom were perfectly clean, just renovated and well equipped. The location is very good, not far from the see but also not crouded.

Review 6:No tea/coffee facilities. No shampoo/shower gel. "A vast and healthy breakfast "was a bowl of tinned fruit and cornflakes. Although I admit the pastries and bread rolls were fresh and very tasty. Staff were quite ignorant and on leaving the guy at reception took my key without a word of thanks. For what I paid I was very disappointed.

Review 7:Beds were comfortable and room fairly quiet

Review 8:facilities are quite old and need some major renovation such as the toilet, bathroom and windows. bad smell in the room after cleaning the lamp in the bathroom is not strong enough and difficult to see inside.

Review 9:the staff quite pleasant and friendly. breakfast is ok , missing some croissants in the morning ;)

Review 10:No negatives for us Rooms in the annexe building could be a bit noisy as it's located by a busy road but after all it is a 2* hotel

Review 11:Lovely staff who couldn't do enough for us. Great breakfast - very good quality food and and plenty of it Large newly renovated bathrooms Very short walk into town centre and the beach

Review 12:Curtains. There were no curtains in our room. Making it hard to sleep past 6am

Review 13:Location is great. Clean hotel. Staff was very friendly. Lots of seating room.

Review 14:The only complaint I have is the light in the bathroom turned on and off all night, but we stuck a towel at the bottom of the door so it didn't wake our baby. The hard boiled eggs were not cooked all the way either, but other than that the hotel was so clean and staff was great!

Review 15:I loved this place! Clean and friendly staff!!
