Reviews for Best Western Pony Soldier
Review 1:The noise levels seemed higher than most motels we have stayed. You get what you pay for.
Review 2:The staff is always helpful, breakfasts good. Rooms clean and comfortable although the place is aging.
Review 3:The front desk receptionists were too busy talking to each other to acknowledge visitors. Bath tub is clogged. Train noise every 5 minutes. Food is good wish the food warmer is working.
Review 4:Spacey room. Free breakfast.
Review 5:Everything! Cold and uninviting..amenities were awful!
Review 6:Nothing at all! We have stayed over the last 8 days in 8 different best westerns and have not had a complaint. This one sucked!!!
Review 7:In the suburbs of Flagstaff and on Route 66 the hotel was easily located. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Very clean and comfortable accommodation, coffee making facilities and access to WiFi. Breakfast was also included and there was a wide choice available. Would definately stay there again
Review 8:The breakfast fair was ample for continental style but the cardboard plates and plastic cutlery was a real dampener. The room I had was directly opposite the rail line which had freight trains going up and down all night. I thought they were coming in the room they were so loud!
Review 9:Room nice and clean and well appointed.
Review 10:Goods train line very close which operates through the night. Our room was on the road side of the motel which didn't help. Noisy. We booked for two night but only stayed for one, there was no problem on cancellation. AC fan noisy
Review 11:Good breakfast was offered
Review 12:The parking lot is not that great. Too small. the location is on Route 66 and near a traffic light. It can be a bit of a pain getting in and out. It is not near many food options.
Review 13:Staff are kind and helpful. They have a great selection of cable channels (most people don't care about that but my work requires 50% travel so I like having conveniences of home. Coffee was good.
Review 14:The only thing my husband and I did not care for was the strong smell of what may have been a room freshener or carpet freshener, like a pine smell. A little is ok but at times it was very strong and overwhelming.
Review 15:Bed was very comfortable, very quiet despite the amt of people staying there, breakfasts very great! A wonderful variety of foods! We have already recommended your hotel to family and we are not even done vacationing yet!
Review 16:The floors are very thin so every step too heavy sounded like you were stomping. Also, the parking lot is a bit tight.
Review 17:The breakfast area was very nice and clean. Not a huge selection, but better than most complimentary breakfasts.
Review 18:The only negatives were the trains (our room was at the front closest to the railway lines - rooms towards the back might not be affected as much), and there was a fly in my room but the hotel could not provide any insect spray.
Review 19:friendly staff, small but clean rooms.
Review 20:The bed was awful. No support, worn out and very squeaky every time you move.
Review 21:The staff were all very friendly. We were upgraded to a king bed for no additional charge.
Review 22:The hotel smells like mildew. The room was so small I hit my head on the wall getting up from the toilet. It was a pet free room but my husband is allergic to dogs and immediately started it itching.
Review 23:I stay in about 30 to 40 hotels per years at least, this one had the worst free breakfast I ever had...
Review 24:Staff was great! Hotel was clean and neat and good location.
Review 25:Wifi unstable. Had to keep putting in password. Breakfast room being rebuilt--food was cold. Loud and lots of interior noise.
Review 26:Staff tried to be helpful. Friendly.
Review 27:Pillows were a little uncomfortable, and thin walls...But not too crowded during our stay, so overall great value.
Review 28:Staff was great at check-in...easy location and breakfast had a ton of options!
Review 29:I didn't like that the walls were thin, you can hear others. Also the doors were very loud when closing especially at 4 in the morning when other guests would leave their room.
Review 30:The room was cleane
Review 31:The way you have to get out of the site, you go around the building and it is like traveling the wrong way on a one way street
Review 32:Location, fairly quiet for a main highway location but close to stores, restaurants etc
Review 33:Coffe was cold both mornings....breakfast was ok other than that, but cold coffee at 6:30 am makes me wonder when it was made
Review 34:my daughter lost a tooth and tooth fairy dropped the ball and forgot to come, cleaning lady folded a dollar like a heart and put it underwear pillow for us! Very nice of her
Review 35:Location, asked in advance about train noise, they said it wouldn't be a problem. Trains ran every hour at a minimum of 5-6 to a maximum of 10-15. Building vibrated, we could not sleep all night. We were given a second floor room (requested 1st floor). Motel has no elevator. Room was small. The breakfast provided was barely adequate. The next morning we checked out (had reserved 4 days) and asked for a refund, The manager refused, stating that because we used "booking.com" she could do it. I am now disputing the room charge with my credit card provider. I strongly recommend NOT staying at this establishment.
Review 36:Wi-Fi
Review 37:The bed mattresses need to be replaced - sagged in the middle.
Review 38:Staff was friendly and helpful - everyone. Location was quiet. The noise from the trains was minimal.
Review 39:There was a small fire at the nearby surge protector for a vending machine in the hallway. The Fire Department responded promptly and smoke in the hallway was cleared out. We had no smoke in our room.
Review 40:Our room with queen bed was clean, well furnished and comfortable. We received a 50% discount because of a small fire nearby.
Review 41:No elevator for those poor folks who arrive late and have to accept asecond floor room.
Review 42:Paid around $85 for the night. Our room was large and well appointed.Towels were sheet sized and soft, not the sandpaper jobs you get at Motel 5 and one half. Parking was convenient. The woman who checked us in found us a first floor room so we didn't have to schlep our bags up the stairs. Overall an exceptionally good deal for the price for mid July in Flagstaff. Complimentary breakfast was good, eggs, waffles, meaty potatoes, juice, milk, coffee and fresh fruit.
Review 43:Phone did not work... and we could not hook up chromecast thru free with fi
Review 44:Apart. I wouldn't stay here again

Review 81:Rather expensive
Review 82:Spacious room Comfortable beds Quiet
Review 83:No complaints! Great help from desk.
Review 84:Bed was ok, but not great. The door to the bathroom was a sliding glazed glass door and felt a bit strange in a shared room although the fan was very loud.
Review 85:The breakfast was very good there was a very large room with plenty of seating. The staff was very friendly and helpful and seemed to enjoy their jobs. Air conditioning was good, no big temperature swings.
Review 86:It was great as always, as we only stay at Best Western. We have stayed at other places and none compare. Thank you again to the great service and care.
Review 87:The Staff was EXCELLENT. We didn't get in till about mid-night. Our room was up-graded from a single to a 2 bed larger room at NO additional cost. The breakfast was everything and more! I'll stay their again!
Review 88:Pool was small.
Review 89:It was nice to have a covered pool; however, it was quite small. The breakfast was wonderful, with many choices. Updated, clean rooms.
Review 90:Room was small. You wouldn't get lost. Bed had a spring mattressthat was too hard for our tastes. No refrigerator or microwave. Ok for ashort stay. To tight a space for a longer stay.
Review 91:Best rates for a decent place in Flagstaff during high season. Staff wasfriendly and efficient. Room was clean. Breakfast had a good selectionand was in its own building. They make an effort here. Location wasconvenient for what we wanted.
Review 92:Door to rooms are too close together, very noisy going in and out with dogs. No view, cars parked right outside windows. Had to walk outside to swimming pool and breakfast building. Bathroom very, very small in a room with two queen beds.
Review 93:Was upgraded to a bigger room on arrival. Room very clean, no pet smell. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice swimming pool and spa. Free breakfast had many selections, waffles were great. Green grass to walk the dog.
Review 94:This hotel is a big joke, would never stay at this dump again, what theyshow on their website, and what you get are completely different. Wouldnot even rate this hotel, not worth the effort. False advertising ontheir part on their website. This place is a joke as far as a hotel, sois the management. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone
Review 95:Breakfast
Review 96:Air in room was "stale." Was probably a smoking room at some time and should not be offered as a non-smoking room.
Review 97:Breakfast was great. Room was large "King suite." Staff was very obliging.
Review 98:That we couldn't stay longer. The kids were really sad that we hadto leave the pool and head back to the heat of Tucson.
Review 99:Got a great rate for 3 days at Booking.com on-line. Pool was warm in thegreen house. It was a small pool, but we had it mostly to ourselves andthe kids liked that except they had no other kids to swim with. Thebreakfast was great--Waffles, biscuits and gravy, juices. Very near toBuffalo park (great for the family) and very close to Ponderosa BaptistChurch. Go there is you want to hear the Word of God! Our suite was great--kids on one side with their tv and parents on the other side with ourtv. And 2 bathrooms. Great deal for the price.
Review 100:Thrilled to have a blue recycle bin in our room(197) BUT a description of what could be recycled would have been helpful for out of State patrons. i.e.glass, plastic, cardboard or just bottles and cans?????
