Reviews for The Boathouse
Review 1:Literally nothing was open in Kennebunkport!
Review 2:Beautiful property, the total package! Onsite bar and dining. Room was tastefully appointed. Right in the center within walking distance of town.
Review 3:Absolute perfect downtown KPT location! 3 bars within the hotel. Great restaurant with wonderful river views. We got a fabulous daily rate going through Booking.com. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 4:Location, beautiful room, great staff. We were touring throughout New England for 2 weeks - this hotel was easily the most memorable. I would return tomorrow just to stay there again -it would be worth the 20 hour plane trip from Australia!
Review 5:The only downfall was the bar closing at 9 . Not sure if that was due to it being off season but definitely not a big deal .
Review 6:The staff was very friendly . Upon leaving they provide you with a going away bag .
Review 7:Room somewhat small for the money
Review 8:Staff......little touches like a credit if you chose no room service......cookies and waters when we left......Kuerig machine in room
Review 9:Staff polite and friendly but not particularly helpful with directing to surrounding area/attractions.
Review 10:Sleek, modern decor and clean, comfortable furnishings.
Review 11:Location, ambiance, fabulous facility! One of my favorite places I have ever stayed. Even saw President H.W. Bush and Barbara while staying there! Also loved our reserved parking space!
Review 12:Very tiny space to enter bath because bed was sooo close to it.... Out of ice at end of hall.... Had superior room the yr before at significantly lower rate.
Review 13:Location
Review 14:This place would be a straight 10 out of ten if it wasn't for that noisy icemaking machine outside the room that kept waking me up all night.
Review 15:We where upgradet to a absolutely fantastic room in the main building and even had a reserved parking space when we got there. We absolutely loved it and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Brilliant!
Review 16:The room staff was a little reluctant to refill necessary items.
Review 17:The location and overall comfort was great! Loved being greeted in room with a whoopie pie, nice touch!
Review 18:Noise from central air con or something similar during the night
Review 19:Lucky enough to be upgraded to a large room/suite which was lovely. Also, although we'd only made a last minute booking there was a parking space reserved in our name when we arrived. It's the little extra touches that make the difference
Review 20:An in-room safe and fridge would have been great
Review 21:Allocated parking space Outstanding room and view Free wifi Location Cookies and water on departure
Review 22:The cocktails at the restaurant were a little lame.
Review 23:The staff was really helpful. And the parking spot was great. The amenities and products were wonderful. Plus the view!
Review 24:Our room was located in the annex. The picture of the property shows alocation on the waterfront! The fact that our room was in an annexwith no view was not disclosed. We paid a $10 resort fee? For what? Wewould not stay here again. I most likely will not use your website tobook again..
Review 25:Great location. Staff was great.
Review 26:No handle bars in bathtub..should have them-no matter the age..bath tub seemed to be slippery Deck chairs and table on balcony little too high for comfort and sitting. Should advise guest of dinner reservation policy and time.
Review 27:having balcony and sliding door a plus room was open and good size
Review 28:The location, staff and facilities were excellent. The sister properties and the additional facilities available at them (bikes and a great swimming pool) added to the quality of our stay in this picture perfect resort.
Review 29:What an amazing trip! First time in Maine and it was one of our favorite trips. The hotel room was so CLEAN and beautiful! We would definitely stay here again.
Review 30:This hotel is actually on a slough. The photos of the property are deceiving, makes you think that it is on a beautiful waterfront property of the Atlantic. It is actually deeper inland than other hotels in the area. When the tide goes out, all you're left with as a view is a somewhat smelly mud flat slough. Not very appealing really.
Review 31:Well maintained and well kept up property, clean.
Review 32:We didn't like being in our room. We had asked if we could change to a room in the Hotel they did have a room but they wanted $105.00 more. Which this is not a seasonal weekend. We thought that was a little high. We booked online the view of this room is not on any of the pictures at least not the room we were in. The view of the wharf was facing a canal through a short 2 foot window that was in the middle of the eves. The larger window had a view of the roof. We could have let that all go but the worse was that they gave us an adjoining room that had paper thin walls and we were unable to sleep all night you could hear even the program that was on the television in the other room. Of course we wouldn't have known that until we returned to our room in the evening to retire. When we told them in the morning how unhappy we were because the walls were not sound proof, the gentlemen at the desk apologized and was surprised that we were given that room. He told us they usually don't give that room out to a couple unless you ask for that room. He also said he would have the manager call us in the evening which they didn't. Very Very disappointed.
Review 33:The area.
Review 34:Too short a stay was my only complaint! :)
Review 35:Allison the front desk person is really good… young girl with a lot on the ball… should be the manager some day… does a great job…
Review 36:The hotel was a terrific place to stay. Contemporary decor yet very comfortable rooms and public spaces. Two minute work to all restaurants and shops in Kennebunkport. You must do a bike ride on the free Maine bikes and do sample the pool at their sister property. Definately recommen.
Review 37:Your own parking space. Fantastic location with stunning views of the marina from the room patios! We had 2 patios! Huge room with excellent facilities and quality linens. Fab restaurant downstairs. You can borrow an iPad and bikes are available (and complimentary). Continental breakfast included.
Review 38:Parking was really tight - we have a large truck and had to park where the garbage truck came every morning.... Room was dormered and my husband and I are very tall - room at wharfside - we kept hitting our heads here and there... also pool was not on site and a shuttle would be very helpful...
Review 39:Location was great, shopping at Dock Square was so much fun and really relaxing... Folks at the Boathouse were very helpful... weather was beautiful; cool nights and warm days... Trolley stop is right outside David's Restaurant... Walked to all the restaurants, really great.
Review 40:If I was staying longer I think a few more drawers would be helpful, there were no real dressers to put your clothes away!
Review 41:The Location is perfect, breakfast was a nice touch . I loved the way the rooms wer decorated, coastal but chic!
Review 42:The valet had our car parked next to a dumpster all weekend. This resulted in our car getting scratched by the garbage cans that were being brought in and out of the dumpster area. We filed a report.
Review 43:The atmosphere, service, location, and amenities were all fantastic.

Review 92:The room had a balcony over the harbour, very comfortable and lovely staff. Excellent location

Review 94:Breakfast, comfortable beds
Review 95:The Boathouse in Kennebunkport is a wonderful property all around. We had the Admiral's Suite and it is lovely with a great view-very comfortable. We were presented with treats on arrival and departure which was a nice touch. Davids KPT restaurant is fantastic. Shops are literally steps from the front door. We used bikes available for free to bike down to the coast which was fun. Staff was excellent. We highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return.
Review 96:The lack of outdoor space for guests to relax. The only space open was the bar and restaurant on the deck. This seemed to be under separate management. Staff not always pleasant in this area. Room was also very small. We had thought that we had booked a room with wharf view but they"upgraded" us to a room with carpark view instead!! Not impressed!! Specified gluten free breakfast menu but nothing available.Exactly the same limited breakfast each day. Had to go elsewhere after day 2.
