Reviews for Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa
Review 1:It is not a problem, but people with mobility difficulties should be aware that the bathroom is downstairs and the bedroom is upstairs.
Review 2:We stayed in the barn and it is absolutely gorgeous and charming. In the kitchen, fresh items for the breakfast were waiting for us. The king size bed is extremely comfortable. It is cozy and silent.
Review 3:For the money, breakfast should be included especially since you are 20 minutes away from any other restaurant. $40/couple for a light breakfast. $8 lattes.
Review 4:Beautiful location. Food was fabulous.
Review 5:Adventures person did not give my message to the spa; not a big deal but led to some confusion
Review 6:Spacious room, nice tub. Great horseback riding Staff seemed very concerned about giving us a good guest experience
Review 7:This is the most beautiful, peaceful place on Earth. We have been here two times in 12 months and it was as amazing the second time as the first. Cannot wait to go back!
Review 8:Housekeeping needed attention. They forgot some items for the bathroom so we had to call. Plus my friends sheets were stained the last night.
Review 9:Location and views were lovely. Food was good and restaurant staff very attentive
Review 10:The power was out when we checked in and the staff was apologetic. in the morning the staff was angry like it was somehow my fault that the power was out.
Review 11:The location was fun.
Review 12:Amenities were atrocious: the spa was out of service, the gym totally dated and the pool area not up to the standard of the hotel (no real infrastructure and dirty). Same thing for the service: the personnel was unprofessional and sometimes rude.
Review 13:The location was stunning btw the canyons and the river
Review 14:The TV didn't work well. We didn't complain about it because we were never there to watch it. But if we did I'm sure they would have done something about it right away. It was a little pricey but nice
Review 15:This was the most beautiful of places to stay. We enjoyed the horses on the ranch and the closeness of the national parks. You might find cheaper places to stay but none like this place.
Review 16:I did not like the maid services. For the money, they did not really clean our room, just threw the comforter over the sheets. I would have expected a little more luxury for the money. We reused our towels, to conserve water.. they had the sprinklers going so much there was a huge pool of water on the lawn. It saddened me to see such waste. The food was way overpriced. It was decent but was expecting a bit more for the money.
Review 17:I loved the Staff. Jonathan, our bellhop was extremely professional and pleasant. He went above and beyond. The grounds were beautiful and the landscape was magnificent. Breathtaking! The staff helped us pick out a great Canyoneering adventure and it was well worth the money. Best experience I have had in over 20 years.
Review 18:Luxury resort prices do not match the level of service and accommodations. If we had paid significantly less we could overlook spotty, unprofessional, service and just above average rooms.
Review 19:The setting is stunning. Friendly, if unprofessional service. Great Arches tour from Tyler!
Review 20:Need an upgrade of the gym equipment!
Review 21:The setting is fantastic right on Colorado River with red rock mesas and buttes all around, food was great, pool a treat and horseback riding awesome.
Review 22:I really think that at least a continental breakfast should be included in your stay at the sorrel river lodge. Considering how expensive it is to stay here. The lodge is located about 30 minutes from Moab. Also there was not even a dog friendly patio where my husband and I could eat together and bring our dog.
Review 23:I love the location.
Review 24:Front desk customer service was terrible! We had no WiFi until the only resourceful staff member (Anthony) figured out in a second that router needed to be reset. Adventure concierge was not very helpful. Service in restaurant one night was very slow!
Review 25:The location is gorgeous but is certainly more than 10-11 miles from Moab... Closer to 20 miles out of town. Accommodations are very spacious and comfortable. Why not put a toaster in every unit instead of making guest ask for one! Food in restaurant was excellent.
Review 26:The most overpriced hotel room we've ever stayed in...and that includes 35 years of global leisure and business travel. Fairly austere, cheap feeling western decor which if at $250/night, would have felt at the high end of reasonable. But (in 4th week of March) the base rate was twice that @ $495 night plus plus. Might explain why the place was virtually empty -- we counted 2 other couples and young family of 5.
Review 27:Good food, nice views
Review 28:The air con was very noisy during the night and there was no way to switch it off as it was remotely controlled from the reception.
Review 29:I loved our room overlooking the Colorado river and so spacious. Very nice heathed outdoor whirpool and night bonfire.
Review 30:poor restaurant-mediocre food, very pretentious, poor service, room cleaning and bathroom amenities usually poor , 1/2 hr drive to Moab
Review 31:great room, great facilities, spectacular views, would definitely stay there again
Review 32:The only thing negative I could say that there wasn't enough staff to meet the guests needs. We experienced it in the restaurant but and we saw guests hoping to have breakfast but the restaurant was late in opening. Knowing many college students had left perhaps the resort could have employed part time people.
Review 33:Service at reception Noise of Airco Noise of neighbors (adjacent and above rooms). When we raised our complaint we did get a better room, but we had to pay $40 more Not clean, hair in shower Toilet kept flushing TV reception Only partial view of TV from the bed No parking spot at hotel guest parking-place for us, due to local music festival. Although we reserved for diner we got the message to wait 10 minutes ("we have only 1 waiter"). In conclusion: if your total for sleeping only is over $600 you expect better.
Review 34:Location is stunning
Review 35:A very special location with great mountain and river views. A helpful staff and welcoming
Review 36:Food very expensive
Review 37:Views of river and hills. Rooms very attractively appointed. Quiet surroundings.
Review 38:Location was excellent on Colarado river Lovely roomy lodgings Excellent restaurant
Review 39:Beautiful location, but a far drive from Moab. Loved the view of the Colorado River. Very relaxing spot and great friendly staff.
Review 40:Shop to enable self catering option
Review 41:Location Restaurant Massage at spa
Review 42:Loved the fact this is a working ranch, the horses were just so beautiful and of course the location was spectacular.
Review 43:Beautiful location, lovely accommodation, great facilities excellent food and wine.
Review 44:The location of the ranch is peaceful and relaxing, an extraordinary panorama.
Review 45:Poor lighting in the bathroom. Hard to shave.
Review 46:Excellent location, and service.
Review 47:Beautiful, serene location. Food was outstanding. Horseback ride was the highlight!
Review 48:Staff forgot to clean the room second day
Review 49:Scenery beautiful views
Review 50:Dreadful restaurant, thin walls, noisy rooms, non-working facilities.
Review 51:Location, location, location.
Review 52:A fair distance outside of Moab
Review 53:Very friendly staff The late night outdoor fire to sit around The well stocked bar The wonderful views
Review 54:The lighting in the kitchenette was so low we had to use phone light, even after lightbulb changed.
Review 55:Location, scenery and it was so peaceful.
Review 56:Basic facilities, average rooms, overpriced unimpressive food
Review 57:Amazing setting- spectacular, great staff, very peaceful atmosphere
Review 58:The pool's surface was very rough on the feet.
Review 59:The people working here were genuine and nice. The service was excellent. Breakfast lunch and dinner were terrific. Amenities were great.
Review 60:We generally stay at Four Seasons resorts and the price point of Sorrel River Ranch led us to believe we would have similar service. That absolutely was not the case. The attitude of staff seemed to be "I'm getting 18% gratuity no matter what kind of service I give so why go out of my way?
Review 61:It's not the best value for money but I suppose the prices have to be high to maintain exclusivity and balance demand with supply.
Review 62:The tranquil and stunning location by the Colorado River combined with the relaxed, welcoming style of the staff.
Review 63:We arrived during a power outage and for a brief time we didn't know if we would be able to stay. But we decided to have a glass of wine and wait it out, chatting to two very pleasant members of staff. By the end of the first glass, we were mellow, warm and we had the power back. It was very comfortable and welcoming. Ten out of ten.
Review 64:The scenerie around is unbelievable fantastic. And the rooms are really nice.
Review 65:Far from the city center.
Review 66:Peaceful, nice staff, beautiful location. Really good breakfast.
