Reviews for Belair Country House
Review 1:That we had to leave.
Review 2:First of all the location is amazing. Situated right next to the Spice Route and other wine lands, couldnt of asked for more. The hospitality was so welcoming and warm that we felt right at home.
Review 3:The WiFi mentioned is only available around the main house, not in the accomodation.
Review 4:Nice and quiet area, owners and staff very friendly, excellent breakfast
Review 5:-
Review 6:Amazing place in the middle of the wine region. Everything is made with love and care. The rooms are very pretty and the owner is a lovely person. Breakfast includes everything you wish for. It´s also a adorable place for a wedding. A lot of wine estates are closeby as well.
Review 7:The place is not well kept and clean. Star grading of 4 is to high and to expensive for what you get. The facilities are lapidated. The grading should be n 2 star.
Review 8:The location was good, but....
Review 9:From the friendly staff to the lovely venue everything was lovely. The room was cosy and homey and I just loved the fire places. What a lovely place
Review 10:We weren't expecting a room with an open plan bedroom / bathroom, as this was not stated on the website. We would have preferred a room that had a completely separate bathroom - with a door - but we couldn't change to another room because everything else was fully booked. As far as I could tell there are only 2 bedrooms available that have separate bathrooms. Make sure to specify for these before making a booking. There wasn't any soap in the shower or bath, we had to use the hand soap provided for the sink. There also wasn't a hairdryer in the bedroom.
Review 11:Janet is a friendly and generous host, the location is perfect for being close to various wine farms, wedding venues etc. The view is great.
Review 12:Adding a small table with coffee and tea supplies to the lounge would make a few hours stay in the room during the day more comfortable.
Review 13:The friendliness of the hostess and the excellent breakfast served.
Review 14:No real Wifi, my bed was a single made into a double using hard uncomfortable mattresses
Review 15:Quaint, friendly, quiet Next door to an excellent vineyard Fairview
Review 16:Very run down in big need of total renovation both indoor and outdoor. Strange sweet smell in the room...dirty bedcover, no working internet etc - not to recommend honestly.
Review 17:Nice staff and tasty breakfast
Review 18:The fridge is a mini, mini fridge so not much room for storage. The bed was really hard, but some may like that. The toilet upstairs is not fully enclosed but there is a fully enclosed downstairs toilet.
Review 19:This place is incredible. We rented the Honeymoon suite and woke up to the glorious view of the mountains. The patio left us in awe ..... our own private rose garden with a day bed. Breakfast is amazing!!! Very spacious, quite, peaceful, tranquility! There is a winery next door, about a 2 mins walk. Other wineries are walking distance but about a 15-20 min walk. Be prepared for dinner, most restaurants are in downtown Paarl, some local winery restaurants are open until 8.30pm. Host was absolutely lovely! Would stay again in a heartbeat!
Review 20:The place is rundown and in desperate need of repairs. I phoned and smsed repeatedly to find out if we could leave our bags there. No one answered or replied. It went straight to voice mail. Pathetic!! The photos on the website is not a true reflection of the place. The shower head and sink had a green substance buildup. No small fridge in the room. The paint was falling from the ceiling, the skirtings was completely loose. The television is from a previous era with only SABC channels. I am so disappointed that we booked there. It is sad to see such a place with tuns of potential turning out so horrible.
Review 21:Location.
Review 22:The larger of the two pools is now ornamental
Review 23:Spacious accomodation with all facilities including fridge and television. The Honeymoon Suite has fantastic views.Janet is an excellent host and breakfast was superb.Lots of great restaurants within ten minutes drive.
Review 24:The bed was on wheels. No coffee and tee station in the room. Tv signal very bad. Very small room for the price. Breakfast wasn't very attractive.
Review 25:The farm was beautiful and love the garden and the pool area as well as the house itself. Staff very friendly.
Review 26:Front door did not lock from the inside. Hopefully fixed now.
Review 27:I booked the day before, and without realising it, got a 2 storey honeymoon suite(700sft) for $80! Very beautiful location.
Review 28:The house is tastefully decorated with large rooms and bathrooms. The windows had heavy curtains which ensures a good sleep . Set in beautiful country side where you can hear the silence
Review 29:The location is within walking distance to both Fairview and Spice route. The owner of the Guest house is welcoming, accommodating and friendly. The room was clean, rustic, yet luxurious. The breakfast was fantastic. Will stay again if in the area. Recommended.
Review 30:Small roomsize No DSTV (only the 4-5 basic TV channels)
Review 31:Very caring and knowledgeable hostess / owner Comfortable and clean rooms Located next to a vineyard and restaurant complex Cooked and tasty breakfast (smoked trout scrambled eggs)
Review 32:Everyting else. Place are dirty, dusty and smelly. Spiderwebs and spiders every where.Hair of previous people everywhere. No hair dryer in room. The worst was going for breakfast and the stank that hits you. Could barely eat. Janet you really need to clean your place. The office is a mess. Would never stay there again.
Review 33:I liked the outlay of the room. The view is beautiful. And that was all Iliked!
Review 34:Loved the fresh feel of the room and beautiful bathroom! Breakfasts were a mouth-watering treat, and the personal touch of leaving us keys under the front mat was appreciated! Great recommendations of places to visit as well as a lovely setting... made for a relaxing weekend!

Review 48:Everything
Review 49:Bit old and run-down.
Review 50:Near Diamant wedding venue. Relaxing and quiet countryside feeling.
Review 51:My stay was not long enough.
Review 52:What a wonderfully relaxing experience! The views from the rooms and from the grounds are spectacular. An extraordinary place.. truly special. We loved having a fire place crackling in as we enjoyed our winter evening. The Luxury Suit has two well functioning fireplaces that give this place the added charm and feeling of home. Not to mention waking up to the sound of birds and the grace of our host Janet that prepared such a wonderful breakfast. I will most definitely return. Thank you!
Review 53:Pool was difficult to get out of when you are elderly and stiff!
Review 54:Janet's warm welcome and friendliness. Country feel, BEauitiful view. Delicious breakfast.
Review 55:I think the photographs are better than the reality as it is quite rundown externally. There is no security. The access road is overgrown and bumpy. The guests are quite exposed to workmen onsite. The pool area is very rundown.
Review 56:Friendly, quiet. Next to Fairview and other good wine and eating places. I would not recommend Belair, as there are other much better places to stay.
Review 57:Amazing Honeymoon suite with upstairs room and downstairs lounge. Outside bed on patio with the most magnificent views from every part of the suite. Wonderful homemade breakfast. Excellent Paarl restuarants very close by (Noop Restuarant excellent)
Review 58:The dust, the broken shower rose / head, noisy extractor fan,the burn marks on the electric outlets.
Review 59:The bed. The windows. Nice hot water. The view. The quiet.
