Reviews for Olde Gatlinburg Rentals
Review 1:Overall the unit felt small even for two people.
Review 2:The gas fireplace was wonderful. However I wasn't a fan that it was on a timer. The view from the balcony was terrific.
Review 3:furniture and bed was ok, but could have been more comfortable
Review 4:Location was easy walking distance to downtown...was booked for condo on 2nd floor, but moved us to opening on 7th floor for better view...staff was very helpful
Review 5:The blinds in our unit were broken and the slats wouldn't close all the way, luckily there was an extra sheet set for the fold out couch that we used as a curtain, otherwise everyone could've seen us in the bedroom! In addition, the bed was very uncomfortable, when researching why, I noticed that the center of the bed was propped up on a small box, this didn't help what so ever as it still sunk right in the middle. Don't count on the WiFi, it didn't work during our visit and other reviews have had the same issue, definitely bring your "hotspot" if you need/want internet during your stay.
Review 6:This location is awesome! Easy walk downtown. The price was another awesome factor! Kitchenette was nice, little fridge and microwave with a couple burners and furnished with utensils. Unit has fireplace, didn't put off much heat but looked inviting.
Review 7:Originally we were placed in a room that was cozy but very outdated. They switched our condo to a beautiful modern room....very satisifed:-) I will be returning! The location was great too....in the heart of everything. If you wanted to you could park your car and walk or take the trolley everywhere. I also enjoyed having the kitchen so we didn't have to eat out for every meal.
Review 8:Furniture really outdated. Sofa ate the cushions so you could not sit on it comfortably. Bath tub is really high stepping in and out. When I stepped out on to bath mat on floor it slid across floor causing me to fall. Also the Wi-Fi didn't work half the time.
Review 9:Location was really within walking distance.
Review 10:No hair dryer. No view. Needed updates. No sample packs of coffee or washing powders. Most places have a few complimentary necessities.
Review 11:Location in town was convenient.
Review 12:The room was dated and had a musty smell. It could use a good spring cleaning and painting.
Review 13:The location was great. It was close to the shops so we could walk from the hotel comfortably up and down the strip in Gatlinburg.
Review 14:Internet service sucked. Didn't know where to dump trash nor did anyone offer clean towels.
Review 15:Was a homely place from the moment we opened the door.
Review 16:Room was nasty and outdated. Food on walls and floors were nasty.Wallpaper was peeling off and burnt places in carpet. The pictures on this site are not correct for every suite.
Review 17:Lady working in office was nice and helpful.
Review 18:The only negative thing was the lack of keys. We only had one key and it was difficult to plan our days out as our teens didn't always spend their days with us.
Review 19:The location is excellent especially for the 3 teens we brought with us. It was very clean and comfortable and was the perfect place to end our busy site seeing days.
Review 20:The staff who checked us in was less than welcoming.
Review 21:The suite was cozy and had all the amenities you could ask for. The location is perfect. Walking distance to everything in Gaitlinburg.
Review 22:1 small tv, nasty carpet, bathroom had carpet that looked like someonehad used the bathroom all over it, would not recommend to anyone , ourunit # was 606. we left and went to another hotel. Still waiting to getmy refund that no one has contact me about.
Review 23:Location , walking distance from downtown
Review 24:I traveled 2 hrs and 30 mins and spent $230 to get bitten by bed bugs and end up spending the first night there sleeping on the floor in the effort to not get bite again. Then when I went to the office to report the problem the guy at the desk was rude and nasty about it lime it was my fault they had bed bugs!!
Review 25:When they moved us from the room that had bed bugs to a room that did not have bed bugs!!
Review 26:Our room had no balcony. The air conditioner never cooled the room, even on high. The cover over the return air in the bathroom fell off and hit my husband on the head. We ended up checking out a day early because of the room.
Review 27:We had to request twice before the fireplace was fixed. The vent cover in the bath fell on my cousins head. When it was turned on it sounded like someone was trying to crank a Harley.
Review 28:It was convenient.
Review 29:very very outdated and uncomfortable furniture. one on the chairs is broken and couldn't be sat in. sofa bed was very uncomfortable. whole unit needs to be updated.
Review 30:The location was great. easy access to trolley
Review 31:Bed was one foot from window on the walkway and close to door that ajoins next room Not very private. Had to pay cleaning fee, too much for what we messed up.
Review 32:Liked being close to downtown. Very clean and smelled nice.
Review 33:Our unit was a step above disgusting. No phone, no hair dryer, the gas logs were out on the hearth, soot was on the hearth and floor, the carpet was filthy, spider webs in the windows, cobwebs and dust through out the unit, the refrigerator was cracked, and the beds were old and uncomfortable. We will not stay here again and won't recommend it to friends.
Review 34:The location was great. Just off the main parkway at light 6.
Review 35:Condo was very outdated. The microwave barely worked, looked like a 70's model. The pullout bed was horrible. You could feel the springs through the mattress.
Review 36:The location is great. Nice size for a family of four.
Review 37:Office closed at 5 pm, though there was a phone number to call in case of emergency.
Review 38:I liked the location and the interior design of our condo was great. View from the balcony was amazing.
Review 39:The hot water only lasted long enough for 2 people to shower and there was 5 of us in a 2 bedroom condo. I also thought there should have been public trash cans outside to reduce the amount of trash we saw sitting around.
Review 40:Just a block from the main shopping strip in Gatlinburg...didn't need to drive and pay for parking. Extremely affordable, with a living room/kitchen and a separate bedroom, TVs in both places, and a balcony for sitting outside. Very comfortable.
Review 41:Thought it was going to have a living room and the tables were looking bad it was like one big room kitchen living room all to geather couch was old furniture was old very disappointed
Review 42:Location
Review 43:No breakfast. :( We requested a top floor but got the second floor. :( Our mattress for the fold out couch was really old and worn out (felt too thin). We slept on an air mattress instead that we brought with us. Also, the fact that you have to lock the door with a key from the outside was a pain. Auto locking doors that uses a card to unlock, or a turn knob on the handle to lock the door from the inside before leaving would be of much more convenience.
Review 44:Location to downtown shops and value (price of room).
Review 45:The decor is early thrift store. It needs a new quilt set, the one there is pitiful. Also that wallpaper Ned's to go and the accessories need to be updated.
Review 46:I like the location and Conor setup.
Review 47:The furniture looked and felt like they have been there since it was built. All the furniture looked like it was from the 70's or 80's, we could feel the coils in the mattress, worst ever, but we only stayed 1 night.
Review 48:Very clean, smelled good, no bugs of any kind.
Review 49:The only complaint that I have is the room we stayed in was a little out dated and the bed was very small for 2 adults and not that comfortable. The majority of parking was very tight and around back which made it hard to park my full size truck.
Review 50:The staff was very friendly and wanted to help use save as much as possible and help us find coupons for almost everything we wanted to do. The kitchen was stocked with plates, bowls, cups and silverware and we were supplied with plenty of towels to go through our stay.
Review 51:The couch bed was definitely past it's comfortable use level.
Review 52:Perfect location. Nicely decorated room with all the necessities. The condos here may be a little outdated, but they are still well kept and the price can't be beat.
Review 53:Wi-Fi was slow, there was a clock that chimed every quarter hour and played music in between. Novel at first, but it became irritating.
Review 54:Property had elevators (I was on the top floor), had a pool, jacuzzi, and children's pool. Place was clean and well maintained. It was within easy walking distance of Parkway, Gatlinburg's main street. It was just the place I needed for this vacation.
Review 55:We never seen any staff, I payed so much money for a daily cleaning fee they never cleaned are garbage layed In front of are door for the entire trip.
Review 56:I absolutely loved the layout of the suite, it was quiet and relaxing. My family enjoyed it.
Review 57:Almost $200 for one night is a little steep. We typically stay longer when we travel, but weren't able to this trip.
Review 58:Location was perfect for what we wanted to do.
Review 59:I really liked the location. When we come to gatlinburg we walk to town and never drive anywhere until we are ready to go home. This location was close enough to town for my husband and myself to do that! Loved loved the location!
Review 60:The condo we had room 605 was horrible, missing tiles around the sink, the sink had mold in it, there a wash cloth covering the smoke detector, hole in the closet door, door was track to the closet, bed sagged in themiddle and the carpeting was old and dirty you had to leave your sockson to walk in the room. The elevator panel was off the wall and wireexposed. I complained on our first night and the response was " wehave been on the owner of the condo to fix things we are aware of theissues" If that were the case then they should not be booking thisroom any more. Because we booked through a third party they refused tomove us. The Pool was nasty and the hot tub did not shut off and therewas a loud noise that you could hear through out the entire building allhours of the night when others were in the hot tub.
Review 61:The location is really close to everything in town. Easy walk to allof the shops
Review 62:Furnishings are old and low quality.Bed needs to be replaced. Microwave was the smallest i have ever seen.
Review 63:Location is good parking is good. layout of the condo itself is good. Clean but it was obvious that people had been smoking in the room.
Review 64:The facility is old and each unit is owned by individual investor. Some units are better than the others. The unit I stayed was dirty. The kitchenette was barely functional. There was no coffee maker in the my unit. The bathroom fan was very LOUD. Ask to check out the unit before you registered. Request a different unit if you are not happy with the first one.
Review 65:The location. Price is good.
Review 66:When walked in it smelled of cigarette smoke. I sprayed everything down with Lysol and opened doors and windows to air out. The closet door in the master bedroom was broke, the remote to the TV was broke and there were burned out lights in the dining, living and master bath room.
Review 67:It was nice having the 2 bedrooms and the place was in pretty decent shape. For the $ I would consider staying there again.
Review 68:I didn't like the molded shower curtain. I didn't like all the spider weds around the building .i think they should get those down spray for those big spiders. Make sure the shower curtains don't have mildew on them.they need to upgrade the bathrooms a little make the toilet a little higher.
Review 69:I loved the way the condo was set up .loved the fire place.
Review 70:The bed wasn't comfortable, but that was ok overall it was a very nice place.
Review 71:I loved the convenience of the place to downtown, we could walk everywhere! The staff was wonderful on check in and check out. Especially when we had to leave a day early due to a death in our family.
Review 72:The only thing my other half had trouble with was that the toilets were a little to short for her, for she had a hard time sitting down and getting up from them.
Review 73:I liked the availability of the location and the size of the rooms.
Review 74:I didn't like that when I got there at 3:45 to check in, my room wasn't ready. Also the pics on the booking site is not the standard of all the rooms. I thought we would have a medium sized fridge but it turned out to be a mini fridge. Also the stove and kitchenette stuff was a little dated.
Review 75:I love the location relative to the main strip. Far enough away to not be a nuisance yet close enough to be within walking distance of everything. also the staff was relatively friendly.
Review 76:- Maintenance was not good - Carpets were dirty, no cleaning during stay - Some of the window blinds were missing - AC units were old and not clean - Elevators were stinky
Review 77:- Location was great - Kitchen though small was good to have with refrigerator, microwave and stove - Free parking, cable tv and wifi - Pool side view and balcony
Review 78:The shower drain in the master bath was really slow, so the water kind of puddled up.
Review 79:The location was great. Loved having a bathroom in the master bedroom.
Review 80:There was NOTHING I did not like. This place is awesome!
Review 81:There was nothing I did not like. The location of the residence, the facilities were fantastic, the residence was roomy, modern, very clean, and I instantly felt like home.
Review 82:Bed comfort was a big reason why I chose this facility and the sofa bedmattress was horrible. There was no iron available and the office staffwas courteous but not helpful at all. Thank goodness I called thefacility to let them know we would be there late, because the officecloses at 9 and they had to leave a key taped to the office door for us----I do not know what we would have done had we not called ahead.
Review 83:It was a nice little condo with a kitchen adequate for our limitedneeds. It did have free wifi although it was rather slow and did go outa few times while we were there.
Review 84:Outlet in living room did not have cover, condom found along side bed in master suite, shower knob broke, sliding patio door handle broke with sharp edges, patio screen door off track.
Review 85:Location to downtown attractions.
Review 86:The TV quit 2 days before we left, up to that point we had to unplug and plug it back in to get it to work. They were aware of this before we rented. The sliding glass door when closed, locked me out had to call over the balcony for help. The counch was terrible, sank when sit on. They ran out of toilet paper and washcloths, day 4. Truck was expected that day? The pool was small, didnt do any swimming once there was 4-5 people in.
Review 87:The attendants were friendly. The location was walking distance to shopping and attractions. Kitchen was equipted with dishes etc and clean. The bathroom was clean.
Review 88:Had to wait from 9 am until 7::30 pm to get clean towels in order for everyone to get showers to go to dinner. Needless to say, this out a damper on our evening plans and affected the enjoyment of our stay.
Review 89:When we arrived the front desk was closed. So they left a envelope with our nome taped to the door, with instructions to the lock bix for our room key. Directions were wrong for our room. Had to call management at 10:30 to find room. Then room had 2, YES 2 beer bottles sitting out, razor blade head in the bedroom, just laying on floor and empty water bottle behind end table. And we paid $120 for this disgusting room. Needless to say, we checked out the next morning and management said they would contact about compensation but never heard back from anyone!
Review 90:The room was bigger than I expected
Review 91:I paid $28 per day for cleaning service and had to bring towels and linens to the lobby to request replacements.
Review 92:The view of the mountains from the balcony at night.
Review 93:Pull out bed was a bit scary along with the green rocking chairs that rocked me right on to the floor. Rooms needed a good deep cleaning and there was this high pitched noise coming from a room near the pool that persisted through the day and night.
Review 94:Place was nice enough, good location for someone looking to shop around.
Review 95:The view from the balcony, but can't have it all. Needs more washcloths, had plenty of towels.
Review 96:Very nice room, better than last year. Was on ground floor, which was nice as far as loading and unloading luggage. Liked car being right outside door. Loved the layout in the room. Very relaxing!
Review 97:The only negatives were that you had to jiggle the key in the lock to get it to work and the kitchen sink was missing the plug.
Review 98:It was close enough to the activity in Gatlinburg that we could walk where we wanted to go. The condo was very clean. It was very peaceful in the evening.
Review 99:Filthy....pool not in service, WiFi not working, fireplace not working, hair on bathroom sink, food in bedroom floor upon arrival, inch of dust along the bedroom furniture, but the worst....a soiled diaper in the bedroom nightstand!!!! Tried to get up with manager and he just ignored my calls/emails. I sent pictures as proof....did not get a refund...I wish to tell everyone I can to AVOID doing business here!
Review 100:The entry/exit door dead-bolt would not work consistently to let us inside the room. Needs replaced ASAP, sometimes it would take us over 1-2 mins. to get inside are room. Thanks!
Review 101:Location of condo, easy access to local shopping and attractions. Need more choices of places to eat in Gatlinburg ! We traveled into Pigeon Forge most of the time to eat... Thank you!
Review 102:Bathrooms and kitchen were a bit rundown but were okay. The room was clean. The pullout couch was the worst mattress I've ever seen.
Review 103:The location, price and amount of room in the condo were great. Easy walking distance to downtown and easy access to the park. Beds were comfortable.
Review 104:Wish the hot tub would have at least been opened to soothe our body's after our hikes.
Review 105:Very clean and loved the decor. Within walking distance of the strip. Loved having laundry room on site.
Review 106:I didnt like the fact that when we got there the bathtub needed repair, the sofa bed was not working properly, there was problems"cracks" the the refrigerator and the bathtub, the bed was wobbly and wifi was hard to sign into.
Review 107:I liked the location.I liked the space.
Review 108:The mattress in the sofa sleeper most definitely needs to be replaced! My girls had no problems sleeping on it and never once complained, but I don't think an adult could have comfortably slept on it. My only other concern was safety... I would like to have felt a little safer with more lighting on the backside of the hotel since that is where you will have to park and enter all the rooms. The vending room is across from the elevators with an open door and a sensor light. This was always off whenever we were waiting for the elevators. it is also a good hiding place for anyone... I learned quickly to swipe my hand on the sensor while we waited for the elevators to feel safer. It also would have been nice to have had a chain or 2nd lock on the door as there was only one lock. Most hotels have two. Just an extra safety thought.
Review 109:The room was very comfortable and decorated nicely, complimenting the mountain and smokeys theme. Decent cable channels!! :) the view was wonderful. The bed was very comfy. It was nice having extra pillows and sheets available for all of us. There was also a crock pot in the kitchen, which I thought was a nice and pleasant surprise. Multiple a/c and heating units on each end was very nice and convenient as well. The bathroom was also a very nice size and allowed for me as a mom to help two little girls get ready at the same time! I had trouble with the cable in the bedroom in that I couldn't locate the correct input channel, and the staff came right away to assist. The location was nice as we were within walking distance to the parkway, but also far enough away that lights and noise were never an issue.
Review 110:The person that checked me in was very rude. Check in was at 3 PM, I arrived at 2:50 and wasn't given a room until 3:30 PM. In stead of offering an apology I was told that I get a refund. I was disappointed in the services.
Review 111:The room was nice and the view was great. The facility was within walking distance to shops, restaurants and entertainment.
Review 112:We had to wait until midnight to get sheets for the sofa bed so our children would have a place to sleep. Only one blanket provided for 3 beds. It smelled bad and could never find a thermostat to provide heat. Terrible experience and would never book again. We had unit 307.
Review 113:Good location
Review 114:The pillows were too hard and the bed room was too compact. With the play pen for my daughter in there we didn't have room to walk in there.
Review 115:It was only a minute drive to Gatlinburg and fairly close to Pigeon Fordge. The staff was very nice and offered to help if we needed it. The kitchen was a decent size as well as the bathroom. The mountain view was amazing!!
Review 116:There was no reference of phone number to contact front desk from the room. We wanted to check out early so we could snowboard early but the office only opened at 9.
Review 117:The cleanliness and features were amazing
Review 118:Our first room was very moldy and because we have a child with asthma we requested a different room. We were told we could have 2 rooms for double the price. After my husband confronted the clerk she called her manager and they agreed to allow to stay in 2 separate 1 bedroom condos for the same price. While this worked out all right we were very disappointed that we were even booked into a room that was so poorly kept up.
Review 119:We were able to walk every where down town with the children.
Review 120:Bed was very uncomfortable for a man with a bad back to start with. and the WiFi was poor. There was a bit of a musty smell to the rooms also.
Review 121:Excellent location within walking distance to town and the room layouts were excellent.
Review 122:Front desk hours are never known/posted, lucky if you get them to answer the phone, though they were very friendly when we did talk to them. WIFI was spotty at best, don't expect to be able to use your laptop. Bedroom TV was never able to get reliable reception for some reason and was never able to get someone to come and fix while we were there.
Review 123:The place appeared to have been newly renovated and was nicely decorated. Very close to everything and wonderful neighborhood. Loved that there was a dishwasher. we most definitely will be back!
Review 124:We left after staying one night of a three night stay. The 2 units were so dirty. We did get a refund minus the cleaning fee which clearly isn't used well. Would not recommend the place to anyone.
Review 125:I didn't like having to leave. But there's always another day.
Review 126:We liked everything. Room was great, Close enough to walk and not pay for parking. Great view. We will be back.
Review 127:The only problem we had was our hot water ran out very quickly the first night when we showered but the staff was very friendly about it and got it fixed.
Review 128:I love the location of Olde Gatlinburg. It is close to all the attractions. The room was very warm, clean, and comfy. I love that it was a suite and felt like an apartment.
Review 129:Vending machines didn't work, and WIFI was not available for the Economy room we had, but the sign in the room stated it was, not to remove sign.
Review 130:Comfort and Location is the biggest reason We stay here, always clean, decor is Homey and within walking distance to downtown
Review 131:The sofa bed was torn to pieces and not comfortable at all.
Review 132:The room was very clean, warm, and beautifully decorated. Great views and close enough to walk where ever we wanted to be.
Review 133:I wish that the jacuzzi had some operating instructions on where the remote turn on switch was located. Finally located it, after checking with the front desk. A minor inconvenience that took nothing away from the overall stay.
Review 134:It was off the main street and the area was quiet. The surroundings were pretty and made for some relaxing walks. It was a short walk to everything. The suite was roomy with very good facilities for the price. I would definitely return to this place.
Review 135:Said there was wi-fi in rooms. We had no wi-fi in our room due to concrete divide or something. Not exactly sure. There was hair on bathroom floor and the mat in the tub was disgusting.
Review 136:Very convenient to walk most places we wanted to go
Review 137:Fireplace pilot light was out - called desk and maint gone for day. Never came to light! Bed very uncomfortable and chair in living room will tump over with you.
Review 138:Loved the location and view from 6th floor - very convenient to town!
Review 139:I requested a smoking room and reserved one but xcould not get it because the owner was on site
Review 140:Having the kitchen was great. Also the fact that the trolley stopped there was very convienent
Review 141:The bed needs to be upgraded.
Review 142:Have stayed here several times in both the one and two bedroom units. I have yet to be disappointed with my stay. Olde Gatlinburg is not fancy but it's view and location make up for it.
