Reviews for The Hostel

Review 1:It was really "funky" i.e. creaky floorboards, loud upstairs neighbors. Super DIY brown decor. Bathroom door coming apart. Felt like a cave. I can see this being "cool" for young snowboarder, but I've stayed in a lot of hostels all over the world, and this was the shabbiest... Wouldn't stay again.

Review 2:It was cheap... And you certainly get what you pay for. It was a last minute booking from the road.

Review 3:55 dollars for a room with four single beds was not convenient for us...but the hostel is correct. not a place to meet people easilly as the rooms are up stairs and the kitchen on the basement...anyway the working people were nice!

Review 4:grand teton nat park and jackson hole!!!

Review 5:The only bad thing was the massive wood panels that completely block the view and the sun. At 10:00 in the morning we had to have the lights on inside to get dressed.

Review 6:Great value for being in what is otherwise an impossibly expensive spot. Staff was great; enjoyed having a private bath, free coffee and laundry facilities.

Review 7:No elevator? Dad, 82,climbed to the 4 th floor with his suitcase......Not a show stopper, I did not ask for a ground floor room so not really a complaint.

Review 8:Great place to rest our heads after a long day of traveling. This is no frills, but we just needed a clean safe place to sleep.

Review 9:Very very noisy, especially the occupant above us (in room 105), everymorning at about 05.15 the tramping of feet with consequent creakingfloorboards meant we left exhausted! A written complaint to the managerwith my Email provided has not even been acknowleged never mind given aresponse!!!

Review 10:Proximity to Jackson - and the road up to Oxbow bend etc.

Review 11:Noise from other rooms. Thin walls and floors.

Review 12:Great location. Free ride on gondola was wonderful. Use the rarely used Teton Village entrance into the park and we saw moose, elk, great gray owl and black bear. This was all within a 12 hour stretch.

Review 13:It was what we'd expected, but worth the price. I miscalculated our stay & had to add an additional night. The staff was very helpful & went out of their way to accommodate us.

Review 14:No elevator, we were on the 4th floor. No ac or tv in the room. It does say "hostel" on the brochure. Guess that is what I must have missed.

Review 15:Near south entrance of Grand Tetons

Review 16:The price of the room with no modern technology. Couldn't find the office until one of us went looking for it. No OFFICE sign anywhere.

Review 17:Liked being in the Grand Tetons.

Review 18:The darkness of the room was daunting. Obviously Teton Village is veryupscale area as a ski resort so the pricing for the room was probablywas in line. You do get what you pay for and the Hostel is fine if youwant to budget your money. The beds and bathroom were clean, bedssomewhat comfortable and the bathroom was lighter with appeared to benewer shower.

Review 19:My family enjoyed the game room although the pool cue sticks coulddefinitely use new tips. Enjoyed the game tables and did use the area inthe morning before we left to have milk and pastries.

Review 20:The bathroom was clean. The towels were worn-bought from other hoteldiscards? The carpet was worn and dangerous on the stairs downstairs. The carpet in our room appeared to have never been cleaned. The fridgeneeded to be cleaned! Way overpriced!

Review 21:The office staff provided good information and booked a floattrip for us.

Review 22:The room was very dark.

Review 23:This was our only 2 night stay. It was our families favorite stay. We did not know what to expect. The game room allowed for us to spread out and not be stuck in the room.

Review 24:Walking floor out of door is noise. Without breakfast supply.

Review 25:Location is very good. Village is beautiful . Have freezers to store fresh food. Free coffee and tea.

Review 26:The Hostel is a clean, very basic, hotel. Located at Teton Village Resort in fantastic Jackson Hole Wyoming. The location is excellent and the price is so very inexpensive. Friendly, helpful staff, free (strong) wifi, free ice, free organic coffee, a nice open game room with plenty of table and chairs, plus outdoor, park like, sitting areas. The private room for 4 are very basic, think college dorm room, and have their own bathroom with shower, a luxury for many hostels, and basic beds that were comfortable. All four adults in our party slept very well. For the price and location you would be hard pressed justifying the next basic hotel rate easily at 3 - 5 x higher, per night.... OK, any questions?

Review 27:Smoke free rooms but other guests were smoking outside our rooms. The color inside our room was dark brown, so we felt dull and depressed. No bath tub!!

Review 28:Location and price

Review 29:It is not what I would call a hostel. You can NOT access the common area 24 hours per day. If you leave food in the fridge, you need to wait until 7:30 am in the morning to get it. The carpets are worn and the walls are plywood.... not impressive.

Review 30:Location

Review 31:Very convient in Teton village and price was right. It is a Hostel so low budget hotel. Interior rooms are dark with one small window to open hall. Fan is provided in room though. No AC but temp was fine.

Review 32:There are no elevators so folks with heavy bags may have difficulty. Staff may be willing to help - I had no need to ask. Also, there is an air exchange unit but no personally controllable air conditioning. However, the altitude means that it cools off nicely at night.

Review 33:Very, very basic bordering on rustic. However, it was clean, comfortable, and the best value imaginable. The Hostel was in the center of village amenities and the location competes with places charging $600 nightly.

Review 34:There was nothing I wasn't prepared for. It would have been nice to control the temperature better - the room was hot at night.

Review 35:Great value, very friendly and helpful staff, great coffee, fun rec facilities.

Review 36:We loved it! The staff was great, the location perfect and the beds were comfortable. They had a plug in fan for circulation and the windows opened, very comfortable to sleep there. Will stay again.

Review 37:Despite it being good value for Teton Village, I still thought it was expensive for a hostel. The room was clean and simple but very dark and a little depressing.

Review 38:Good value in an expensive place. Great location, friendly staff and free coffee in the lobby. We particularly loved the games room downstairs which made our little boy VERY happy.

Review 39:The brakes failed on my car and my phone died. I didn't have a computer with me, so I was unable to find anything myself. The front desk staff solved all my problems by giving me all the information I needed and letting me use their personal phones and computer. In order to be more helpful they'd need to have redone my brakes.

Review 40:Price is high given its a hostel (but low for Teton Village). Small raw wooden rooms (but efficient and what you would expect in a hostel). Carpets could do with a replacement and lighting is a bit dim given dark brown walls. Nearby restaurant options are not inexpensive.

Review 41:Overall great place. Right in Teton Village with all it offers -- prices within walking distance range from this (~$100) to FourSeasons at $5000! Bathrooms are very compact but clean and nicely renovated. Mattresses comfortable and bedding clean. WiFi worked well. Basement game/tv/refrigerator room is a nice gathering place (albeit shows its age and wear). Staff very friendly.

Review 42:Room was dark with only one small window, though not of concern to us since we were there to play outside in the Tetons, not hang out in the room.

Review 43:Well situated with free WiFi. Laundry facilities came in handy. Perfect if all you want is a bed and a bathroom.

Review 44:No TV, No Phone, No elevator, Noisy floors squeaking. No kleenex. Worse room I have ever stayed in in 38 years on the road. This place should be torn down.

Review 45:Nothing

Review 46:Looks old and not very high-class. We spend $90 per night. If in other location we can have much better hotel.

Review 47:It has game room and we enjoyed playing games. Location is good.

Review 48:Rooms look like 4×4 shhets ply wood on walls bed was horrible was a place for rich young college kids to go to and party not a mature married couple to relax in fireworks going off all night have to watch where you step for dog fecies never go there again or recommend

Review 49:Couple of things (one of the towels and the drinking glasses) weren't properly clean.

Review 50:Good sized room with all we needed for the one night. Great games/entertainment rooms downstairs that we would have made more use of if we stayed longer and it was busier.

Review 51:This is a great place for a short stay. Decent room and ok facilities (it is just a Hostel, after all). And you can't beat the price. I paid more for ski tickets than the hotel.

Review 52:Great location, facilities, staff and wi-fi. Awesome value. Enjoyed playing shuffle board and pool downstairs. Free coffee in the lobby was sweet too.

Review 53:The location is fabulous, and the price for the location is unheard of. If you're there to ski and go out at night, it's a great place. No frills, no TV, no spas, ... But hey, it's a hostel (and does have free wifi). Clean, warm and with a great staff. And you can ski to your door at Jackson Hole!

Review 54:The fact that some really expensive hotel built a 50 foot wall about 20 feet from the Hostel and ruined the view. Can't have everything.

Review 55:The Hostel should be on the National Register of Historic Hotels! A Hotel it really is not. It's a hostel and a great one at that. It's the closest bed to skiing in the village that is in my budget. A good mattress, new shower stalls, and clean. What more could a lifelong skier want? Ski in,ski out and that is what you also will find at the Hostel.

Review 56:The rooms are really dark. Dark ceilings, no light over all beds for reading. Kitchen facility in another part of the building instead of with the refrigerators and eating area.

Review 57:Shared facilities for eating, playing pool and watching TV by the fire. My 13 son loved it. He felt very comfortable staying by himself and so did we. Great staff and clients.

Review 58:Very old and because we were there during a very cold spell the atiquated baseboard heater could not keep the place warm enough (temp in room never got above 50 degrees at max) and gaps around the door allowed in blasts of freezing air.

Review 59:Location was excellent in Teton Village.

Review 60:First of all you have to pay for the Wi-fi 5$ a day, that I find unacceptable in the modern world. They would be smarter to add it directly to the price as I'm sure it disappoint good part of the customers. The structure is made with old wood so it's very noisy, the walls are thin and the floor screech at every step of the people on top of you, so it's not easy to fall asleep. If you are at the top floors remember there's no lift and no one will help you carry the luggage. The person we met at the front desk was arrogant and unhelpful, both when we arrived and the morning after when the kitchen was unexpectedly closed and he didn't even let us fill water bottles as we had given him already the key back.

Review 61:The structure has its charm with the old style and the room was ok and clean.

Review 62:The pictures show rooms as a bit more spacious that they are in reality, but we were looking to spend a night there and drive on so it didn't matter much. Carpets were a bit shabby so you didn't want to step on them without shoes, but altogether not filthy or anything. There was no table or a chair (apart from a bench so it was difficult to even make sandwiches.

Review 63:Clean (although tiny) Nice and clean bed sheets and towels. Bunk beds were surprisingly OK, rather comfortable compared to what they initially looked like. Very good location, beautifully set. We knew the standard would be on the basic side so even the downsides weren't problematic.

Review 64:The location was perfect, staff very helpful, good facilities and overall a great experience. I stayed here 15 years ago and was happy to have taken my family there now!

Review 65:Would have found a tap and sink in the fridge area downstairs useful. Ria from Auatralia

Review 66:The friendliness and politeness of the staff was always evident. We received all that we expected from the stay with the information we found. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and position of the hostel.

Review 67:The wooden floor and walls are pretty thin and creaky, so you hear everything around you, which makes it hard to sleep.

Review 68:The place has some history. We've met a guest who used to work there in the early 90's. Cool place for young travelers - we saw mainly 20 something people in groups. The common areas are sweet!

Review 69:I have stayed for 4 nights. The accommodation is a lot better than I thought. The boss of the hostel is very friendly, he helped me booking all the trips and even the bus drop off to airport. The room was clean. Thank u very much, and I will recommend the hostel to anyone who look for reasonable price and comfortable stay.

Review 70:Considering where it's based there was nothing to dislike. For our odessey, it was one of the most expensive places we've stayed and no breakfast! But you know that before you book!

Review 71:The location is wonderful, perfectly suited for staying to do a range of activities. We were just passing through but we're glad we stopped there.

Review 72:It was creaky, it was spartan so maybe should be a bit cheaper but for the location I would stay there again.

Review 73:The location was amazing. We did the Granite Canyon hike which starts and ends at Teton Villiage but there were at least four others we could have done nearby. The wifi signal was strong and the service was fast.

Review 74:The only odd thing was the fact that the cooking facilities were minimal and the fridges were on a different level to the hotplates provided for cooking.

Review 75:We found the accommodation clean and comfortable. The position of the hostel in Teton Village made it an excellent venue for being close to the trails we wanted to hike in the Grand Tetons. Staff were welcoming and very friendly.

Review 76:Very rustic - not expecting that from description when we booked. Room was very warm, and window useless as it faced the walkway that was very noisy and creaky when people used it. Box fan made room comfortable for sleeping, and helped block noise from other boarders. Floors in rooms above us creaked whenever anyone walked on them. Not very soundproof - good thing there weren't any televisions to make noise.

Review 77:Beautiful, breathtaking scenery. Nice lounge area. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Clean. Pricey for what we got. I can see where skiers would love their stay!

Review 78:The room was really dark and had only one small window to the aisle. There was only a wooden sealing and so you could hear every step of your upper neighbours. This seemed to be a big group of Chinese people. So sleeping was difficult.

Review 79:The guy at the reception was really friendly and helpful

Review 80:It met my expectations, and I will go again.

Review 81:Friendly atmosphere. Guests interested in the outdoors. Younger group, but as senior enjoyed it very much. There is a common area where guests can prepare meals, discuss plans, and connect to wifi.

Review 82:The price is not a bargain, but related with all the other places at Teton Village, definitely is the most cheap option.

Review 83:The staff at the check in was very friendly and helpful. It´s very nice to be at the heart of Teton Village.

Review 84:Amazing there is a budget place in the middle of Ritz, 4 seasons, ultra high end price hotels etc. Also a free ride to mountain top 4:30 pm during summer time.

Review 85:There was an upstairs over our room and the floor above was creaky and you could hear this when people were walking around. For the amount of money paid for this place, it would really have been nice if breakfast were included. We ate at a restaurant which was quite expensive. It's name I can't recall, but it had a goofy name like The Moosey pub or something of the sort.

Review 86:Had a huge king-size bed - larger than usual. The bed was set on a hand made log bed frame (no innerspring under mattress, however). The Hostel is in a grouping of businesses. It does have a private bathroom, which I thought a bit unusual for a hostel.

Review 87:lugging a suitcase up 4 flights of narrow stairs. Recommendation: travel light!

Review 88:Desk staff very friendly. Good night's sleep. Could imagine it being noisy at other times of the year. Only stayed one night, so couldn't take advantage of the shared facilities, e.g. I thought I saw a kitchen and laundry?

Review 89:noise can be heard clearly from the neighbor.

Review 90:Not easy to find a budget place near south entrance of yellowstone. this place is good enough for sleeping one night. good wifi but need pay $5.

Review 91:the rest room is a little bit small, and if there is a coffe maker in room maybe is better.

Review 92:the staff, the location, and the cleaness, the comfortbale bed although the room is a little bit small. And thank you very much for the kindness boss and staff.

Review 93:Too noisy. Bed was not comfortable. The bench lid furniture was hard to utilize...would have been much better storage if opened from bottom. Arrangement of kitchen was inefficient. Some of kitchen items upstairs in laundry room and some downstairs.

Review 94:Location was great. Price was very good. Staff was helpful.

Review 95:They put us on the 3rd floor, not the best if you have heavy luggage. The floor and walls are made of woods so the floor squeaked and the sound travelled. A group of people checked in to the room upstair past midnight and made lots of noises until someone went and knocked on the door and asked them to be quiet. The basement area smells and can use some re modeling. The cooking area is very small.

Review 96:We liked the location. Overall, it is great for the price we paid at that Teton Village. We will stay there again.

Review 97:It was hard for me to justify over 100.00 bucks for a hostel. But I am cheap!! and in Jackson Hole, thats cheap for a room!!

Review 98:Looking into staying in or near Teton was an eye-opener. Private campsites are reserved WAY in advance and the national park sites are first come, first served. The hostel was the most reasonable for a queen, private room. I last traveled via hostel route 35 years ago,but what the heck!!! The staff was very gracious and the room was very clean. Exceptionally convenient location. I didnt mind the hostel aspect but it was a bit noisier than a "good" hotel room. Many young people being young!!! I do not sleep well so the noise was a factor. Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable. If you sleep like a rock this is the place for you.

Review 99:Could hear EVERYTHING from the floor above us. Talk, laughter, steps back and forth. Of course they were up really late partying and seemed to be up early also.

Review 100:hadn't done a hostel before. Saw other families there so thought it would be good, but the pot smoking outside the door was a total turn off.

Review 101:Cheap.. hadn't done a hostel before. Saw other families there so thought it would be good, but the pot smoking outside the door was a total turn off.

Review 102:I didn't like how dark the room was. It was noisy from the nearby restaurant/bar until midnight.

Review 103:I liked having space to cook and do your own thing, play horseshoes, and borrow cards. The staff were friendly and willing to help take luggage upstairs.

Review 104:this is the place for backpackers : problem, they may wake up early and make a lot of noise the whole place is in wood : noisy

Review 105:very friendly atmosphere open minded people very close to the grand teton park

Review 106:Bunk beds need a railing- I fell 5.5 feet to the hard ground in the middle of the night and injured my back. Still in pain a week later. Just thankful it wasn't one of my kids and that I wasn't hurt worse.

Review 107:The staff was wonderful!

Review 108:The line at check-in was long and the reasons for the slow process were the questions that the guests had concerning their bills. From the emails received to confirm the booking, it seemed that by the time you would arrive to check in, the entire payment would have been processed. Guests were worried that when the host requested their credit card, a second payment would be taken.

Review 109:The reservation was made correctly but the payment system used by this hotel isn't clear.

Review 110:No a/c and no Tv

Review 111:I loved the fact that it was close to The Mangy Moose where we could have dinner and entertainment all inthe same place. Rooms were easy to access from the parking lot

Review 112:I would only add a hair-dryer in the rooms. The wifi connecti

Review 113:The room and the building are really unique even of quote simple. People at the from desk was absolutely kind.

Review 114:The size of the bed was very large. The location was great right in the centre of Jackson Hole/ Teton Village. It was basic but comfortable for people on a budget.

Review 115:Paper thin room walls, and unless you know who you room next to and they respect quiet time, you will not like this place. room can be a bit stuffy & warm.

Review 116:Location, great game room and so many things to do. Just Beautiful surroundings. Having access to internet was great. A fan was supplied for ventilation.

Review 117:It was fine.....close to places to eat, staff was familiar with area..........

Review 118:Teton Village Area...........nice experience. Low cost accommodations....place to sleep and move on.

Review 119:It was hard to find initially. Lots of stairs to haul luggage up.

Review 120:Enjoyed the rustic nature. Beds very comfortable. We had 2 grandkids with us so the 4 twins were perfect. Fan provided.. nice for the hot weather. Access to a refrig useful.

Review 121:Had to pay for wi-fi,,, traveling today,,,,free wife is soooo importen,

Review 122:Very ok plase, would stay there again if I am in that area. No breakfast and paying for wi-fi,,, not good, but my group cpold share the pincode, that was nice,,

Review 123:Availability of parking spots

Review 124:Being a property located at the entrance of Teton national park ... It was clean, good equiped game room, friendly and helpfull staff. You can't expect anything more from a Hostel.

Review 125:there is no elevator so the 4th floor was a hike with luggage, etc.

Review 126:the view was great (4th floor). The picnic table allowed for getting to know others and save money on food.

Review 127:It was rundown. Expensive for what u got. Smells from other rooms came in ours. Beds were really uncomfortable. Worst nites sleep I've gotten in years.

Review 128:location

Review 129:We felt that the stay was very comfortable and the room was clean and bed was okay to sleep. Did not care for paying $3 for ice but was okay with overll experience

Review 130:It is quite rustic and the building is very creaky when people are walking around. If you like lots of stars it's probably not the place for you. It was perfect for me as I just wanted a bed and shower room.

Review 131:Friendly and helpful staff, especially when I locked myself out of my room! Was clean and the bed was comfortable. The Wifi was reasonable and worked well.

Review 132:lighting was 3 light bulbs. Too dark to read a map. Very basic, suited for a place to stay overnight with a shower (plenty of hot water) but not much else. Beds were ok. No tv.

Review 133:Heat was set ridiculously high and wouldn't turn down.

Review 134:The location, atmosphere and value.
