Reviews for Red Stone Inn
Review 1:The bed was a little hard, but maybe we're just getting soft in our old age. :)
Review 2:We really enjoyed our stay at the Red Stone. It was fun to meet Monica (the owner) in person. The special holiday rate was a nice surprise!
Review 3:Not really anything to complain about.
Review 4:Clean but very minimal and "rustic". Definitely better than the Motel 6 up the street. Which would be in the same problem price range.
Review 5:Rooms are tiny. Very tiny. Wife and I both had 25 inch suitcases and there was hardly enough room to open both in the room. But if you are looking for a place to sleep and shower, it can't be beat.
Review 6:Location excellent. Near supermarkets and restaurants and sights. Rooms easy to access. Microwave, and kitchen sink - used as 2nd bathroom sink.
Review 7:Room was big enough for two people, but would have been crowded with 4.
Review 8:Nice , central location. Dining and shopping were within walking distance. Got a good rate through Bookings.com.
Review 9:The room was just so small. The bed wasn't very comfortable. It was just a dark and kind of dingy room. The floor was still dirty when we got there.
Review 10:The fan could run all night to drowned out the other noises from the hallway. We appreciated the fridge and the microwave.
Review 11:The carpet was dirty and under the table was dotted with crumbs and even a used toothpick. The room was dark because of the pine paneling and deep porch overhang outside, even with all of the lights on. The bathtub was chipped and the sink had hairs in it. Eek.
Review 12:My room was quiet and it had a kitchenette.
Review 13:Older hotel has a musty smell.
Review 14:Location was good, very close to Moab brewery. Clean room, staff was vice and informative. Surprisingly quiet for location.
Review 15:Room was smaller than expected and it could have done with brighter lighting.
Review 16:Room was clean, had everything we needed, nice shower. Had a nice 'western' style to it which suited the location.
Review 17:No complaints Suggestion - add more ventilation for indoor hot tub. The chlorine can become oppressive in an enclosed space.
Review 18:Excellent firm mattress. It was so clean I initially had to turn on the fan to disperse the bleach smell from the bathroom. Fine after that. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 19:Room was very small. Even with 2 poeple, we were constantly bumping into each other, and no room for our luggage. Air conditioner vents\filters could use a good cleaning. Lighting wasn't very good, and with dark paneling, the room seemed very gloomy. Could not see anything but bushes out the window.
Review 20:Location was good, close to everthing.
Review 21:rooms are dark and someone parked their suv with a trailer across 4 spots anyone else was left to park further out
Review 22:very good access to evrything in moab nice to have laundry kitchenette and pet friendly
Review 23:The room is extremely small; amazing that they fit in a little table. A/C did not work very well, and Moab temperatures were pretty high - even in October. I might be inclined to pay a little more and stay elsewhere.
Review 24:Room was a great bargain in terms of cost. It came with a microwave and refrigerator, as well as a small set of plates, bowls and silverware. You couldn't really cook, but we could do cereal for breakfast and reheat some leftovers for one of our dinners. So it saved us even more money.
Review 25:I would not want to stay in this place more than one night. It was basic and clean and felt reasonably safe, but was not that nice.
Review 26:This motel is centrally located in downtown Moab and close to outdoor activities and restaurants
Review 27:The rooms are paneled with cedar planks, which makes them dark. It has an old feel.
Review 28:Friendly staff and very clean room. The room had a microwave, coffee maker and fridge.
Review 29:Room (1 queen type) was on the small side. There was no comfortable chair and no suitcase stand.
Review 30:Nice hot tub. Friendly to mountain bikers, e.g. bike cleaning area. Nice kitchenette, including fridge, microwave, sink, dishes.
Review 31:Nothing.
Review 32:Good location just south of the main business district along the state highway. Several restaurants within walking distance, many others a short drive up the road. Sufficient on-site parking. Quiet, comfortable room with kitchenette (fridge, microwave, sink). Easy check-in.
Review 33:Room was tiny and dirty. Looked as if they only cleaned the walk areas.Dirt/paper/bugs/dirt in every corner (yes I said dirttwice). Had outdoor mats by bed - the kind you would find outside aconvenience store. Bugs everywhere! Killed three at once after movingthe bath mat. A spider, a roach, and a pincher bug. Stayed three nightsand killed bugs daily. Room was so small you had to turn sideways to getbetween the tv and bed. I am not large, but a disabled vet with a cane, and it made it very difficult. WiFi was lousy. Had two bars in room, non-stop buffering and page timeouts. Finally gave up with night timeconnections, connected at 5 am and worked better. Did I mention the roomwas dirty and had bugs? Stayed in September and paid biggg bucks, $130 anight. A December stay is exactly half as much, $65 and may be worththat. Would have changed hotels, but nothing else available.
Review 34:Staff was very nice and helpful.
Review 35:The motel was quiet, didn't hear other customers opening and clodsing there room doors. We liked the little kitchenette with microwave and supplied dishes. We were able to bring restaurant leftovers back to room put in fridge then reheat for next day.
Review 36:Unit was so small, could not open or store second suitcase. Kitchenette/bathroom very small. Provided limited china and silverware, but left it to previous guests to wash up by hand! Not a good thought. Room small. Better and newer accommodation are available at outskirts of town, closer to tourist attractions. Would pay a little more next time for newer, cleaner and more modern facilities. Town is small with essentially one long street, so distance is not an issue with a car, in-town or outskirts. All views face parking lot.
Review 37:Center of town and availability of VERY SMALL kitchenette (but see negatives). Spa is available if you like this.
Review 38:although it wasn't fancy it was a great place for the price we paid as compared to other hotels in the area. If we were staying more than one night the kitchenette would have been a plus. We also found a coupon for an extra $20 off our stay.
Review 39:Nothing not to dislike
Review 40:Great place for the type of visit we had. Staff were tremendous give we had an issue at our last hotel as I had left my watch. Room clean and tidy with ample parking and good location.
Review 41:Very efficient and prompt check ln. I was towing a trailer on a pickup and they were helpful in allowing me to park without unhooking the trailer. It is an older facility but clean and value for money compared to other places in town.
Review 42:Not many places to walk the dog other than head down the main drag and find a side street but your in Moab so you are probably gonna be out and about anyway.
Review 43:Perfect location, 5 minutes from Arches and directly across from the road to Hurrah Pass, and Chicken Corners, near the McDonalds. Also close to Fins and Things, etc.
Review 44:Probably paid a little extra for the kitchenette but not used as not there long enough to want to buy groceries so seemed a little expensive though they say it is the best deal in town.
Review 45:Location. Good food nearby.
Review 46:Room was a little cramped, but since I was there by myself it wasn't really a problem.
Review 47:Super friendly staff, wonderful accommodations: practically a full kitchen in the room (mini fridge, microwave, sink, and even dish soap, sponge, rags and silverware if I remember correctly!), laundry facility and hot tub on site.
Review 48:The room was unusually small and the doors were difficult to open/close tightly, partially due to the antiquated lock/key system. Neither of these issues were problematic for us.
Review 49:Nice layout of the facility. We enjoyed the amenities of the hot tub located near a small, covered picnic area which included a nice grill for customer use. Hanging baskets and planters overflowing with flowers were a welcoming touch.
Review 50:We had the double room with 2 queen beds and it seemed a little cramped.
Review 51:The price was excellent compared to other locations that offered the same amenities. The staff was very nice and accommodating.
Review 52:The cleaning staff did a hurry up poor job every day except the last day. Every day we had to go to the office to retrieve missing items that she forgot to leave. Usually the beds were only made half way and the bathroom was not cleaned one or more times.
Review 53:The People at the front desk were very nice and helpful and addressed all of our concerns in a timely manner.
Review 54:Clean, comfortable, Good accommodations. We were looking for a nice place to stay not to be entertained or dazzled. This was the place. We don't travel much but the price seemed reasonable. We have always loved Moab, this was a nice way to enjoy it. Thank you Red Stone.
Review 55:The staff was friendly and helpful, and I loved the quaint, simple feel of the rooms. I am very picky about cleanliness, and the Red Stone met my standards!
Review 56:My boyfriend and I were driving across the country camping in as many national parks as possible. After several days of camping we decided a hotel was a good idea. The Red Stone Inn was very pleasant. It is at the southern edge of the Moab strip and conveniently located next to many restaurants. We would stay again!
Review 57:spiders and other critters in bed . room was kinda cramped . Had no view or scenery as we faced a fenced wall . parking for full sized extended trucks was almost non existence.
Review 58:not much ...
Review 59:The only negative is no complimentary breakfast which is becoming commonplace and which adds great value to a motel venue in places like Moab.
Review 60:Rustic styling and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
Review 61:Air-conditioner was so loud couldn't sleep had to turn it off. The lighting in the room was so dim you could hardly see. Felt like I was taking a shower in the dark. Lighting in bath was the worst. Would never stay here again.
Review 62:Nothing
Review 63:Only thing that would have been better is to have one more set of pillows in the room. But overall - enjoyed our stay.
Review 64:Good Location. Room is basic, but good price. Have hot tub and can use the pool across the street. Moab Grill across the street is great for breakfast.
Review 65:It was a little overpriced for a motel (not advertised as one, but it is)
Review 66:The location was right around all businesses which allowed for walking. All staff members were kind and informative.
Review 67:Room is really small. No breakfast. Overpriced as most of the stuff in this area.
Review 68:The hot tub ! and something unexpected as not shown in description...we can have free access to an outdoor pool by crossing (not easy) the main street and using the pool from the Big Pine Motel. Towels are provided. This was a very great news.
Review 69:Parking lot was crowded, difficult to maneuver in. In a twist, housekeeping took my two yellow microfiber towels I use to keep my windshield clean.
Review 70:Good location, nice refurbished room. Bed was comfy.
Review 71:I felt safe as a solo woman traveller. I liked having use of a microwave and fridge. The indoor hot tub was good but there was a rule not be on your own in there, perhaps having an phone hooked up to reception would be good.
Review 72:Small rooms but adequate. If inclined to use the pool you have to walk across a busy street.
Review 73:The homey, knotty pine look. Clean and comfortable. Helpful, friendly staff.
Review 74:Aircon was noisy enough that it had to be turned off to let us sleep. WiFi wasn't great signal, ended up having to switch back to mobile data.
Review 75:Good price, good location, friendly staff.
Review 76:Everything was fine. It is old and the rooms are small, but that was fine, we were only sleeping there.
Review 77:It had a guest laundry room to wash our clothes, as we were on a long road trip.
Review 78:A bit expensive for quality of accommodation. Unit was unusually small as per NA standards. Outdoor pool is across the street without change room.
Review 79:Kitchenette was very useful
Review 80:The woman working the front desk the night we checked in was abrupt and actually told us we could not reserve a second night. We went to the office the 2nd day and got another employee who was outstanding and booked us a 2nd night. The difference was like night and day.
Review 81:The woman on duty the 2nd night of our stay was outstanding. She was bright and friendly and went out of her way to tell us details about Moab that were extremely helpful.
Review 82:Great location and value! Enjoyed the hot tub after hiking. Nice to know a pool across the street was available, but didn't use it. Kitchenette tiny but serviceable with fridge and microwave. Clean and cozy!
Review 83:Plywood ceilings, dark musty room, cramped, small tv, noisy neighbors, staff knew little about parks other than arches, just all around low end motel.
Review 84:Close to food and rental toys.
Review 85:The rooms were extremely small. The hallway doors were left open most of the time and very warm. There was little or no place to put luggage. All hotels need two luggage racks for rooms with two guests.
Review 86:The beds were comfortable. The location was good. The laundry was good and reasonable.
Review 87:The room was very small. Not much room to move around in or for the dog to lie down on the floor.
Review 88:The location was very good for walking our dog. Close distance to a dog park and a river walk. The room was clean and the kitchen was a plus.
Review 89:Rooms need curtains over blinds. The outside lights shine in all night. Slow wifi. Small bed
Review 90:Mini kitchen stocked with utensils etc. good place to rest your head of a night
Review 91:Along with the top part of this message there was a cigarette butt in the sheets of that bed. It was a non smoking room....
Review 92:I spent over $100 dollars for that room and it was so very small I guess it just go to show a person $100 just isn't that much anymore
Review 93:My only complaint was the air conditioner was abit too noisy whenrunning at night.
Review 94:Nostalgic, very clean and quiet and close to everything in moab. Theprice was great and I will stay there again.
Review 95:Laundry needs a little work.. some machines broken
Review 96:The room was neat and clean. The kitchenette was great. Great location for seeing Arches and Canyonlands. A winner for sure!
Review 97:The rooms are a little bit dark. Perhaps better as it was so hot...but a bit more light would be ideal. Breakfast was not provided.
Review 98:I liked the location of the Inn.
Review 99:Mould in shower. Tents being put up at 11pm in camp ground 10 feet away.
Review 100:Good, reasonably prices accomodation to stay whilst discovering this great national park.
Review 101:Breakfast was not included, but restaurant was on property so it was convenient. Floors were not cleaned daily.
Review 102:Many good restaurants within walking distance.
Review 103:Parking lot was small. We had a trailer with an ATV. There was not a lot of room to park. We did manage to park our entire stay.
Review 104:The staff was friendly.
Review 105:Small, cramped rooms, tiny bathroom and tiny kitchens area, narrow hallways.
Review 106:Central city location, the name.. Kitchen fairly complete, easy Internet access
Review 107:Room was very small and cramped.Hallway was so dark we had trouble using the key. We had to put one of two suitcases in the kitchen. Very small table with one wooden chair. Small window and dim lights made this a dark and less than pleasant space to spend time.
Review 108:Central location,
Review 109:Cost was expensive with no breakfast. Didn't like that the maid asked us if we wanted the room made up ? Of course we want the room made up and clean towels---- odd question ?
Review 110:Clean basic accommodation in a high priced town
Review 111:The lighting out side the locked door into our room was terrible - very dark. Also poor lighting on the outside door was bad. Hard to see door locks to unlock doors. Not a safe feeling
Review 112:The room was tiny. My husband and could barely pass by each other in the small walk space. Only one of three dryers in the laundry room worked. The soda machine would not take dollar bills.
Review 113:The wifi was consistently good. The room was clean. The location was great.
Review 114:Great location and old time motel feel. Walk to store, shopping and restaurants. Access to swimming pool across the street was a refreshing activity after hiking in the hot sun. Lots of little extras: hot tub, laundry, outside grill and picnic area, bike friendly.
Review 115:Television has closed captioning on, and remote couldn't get it off.
Review 116:Located close to good restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful. Room small but clean and equipped with all you need, including kitchenette. Priced more reasonably than other motels in town
Review 117:Bed was queen size. Would of liked a king. Room was small. Found clothes behind the fridge left by last person. No breakfast, but plenty of places near by to eat. Expensive for what you got.
Review 118:Located within walking distance to the downtown area. Staff was friendy.
Review 119:Room a bit too dark for my taste
Review 120:Only one level means easy to move in and out with your luggage, small kitchenette and good supplies, parking right in front of room, good price
Review 121:Air conditioner didn't get cold very cold, left it on "7" (their recommendation not to freeze it up) and on "high cold" and it wasn't cool in there in the AM. Fridge/freezer didn't work the greatest.
Review 122:Very friendly staff. Not a very big room but it's all you really need!
Review 123:The room was very small, the bed hard and furnished with inadequate bedding including two thin, hard pillows.
Review 124:The front desk staff was extremely helpful and they welcome Moab visitors with very useful information about the hotel amenities and local places to visit. The whole place had a rustic, mom & pop feel to it that I generally enjoy.
Review 125:I thought my bed was a bit hard, but I rode 12 hours of Mountain Bike trails and was exhausted. So who knows maybe they were as soft as a cloud and I was just beat up : )
Review 126:Great location with fantastic staff.
Review 127:refrigerator did not freeze ice packs which we use for carrying medicine, had to use ice instead.
Review 128:staff very helpful about places to eat and events going on in Moab.
Review 129:The only thing we didn't like was that they didn't have a breakfast available. (but we knew this coming in.)
Review 130:The staff was so friendly and helpful! The kitchenette was so great!
Review 131:We didn't realize it was "Jeep Week" in Moab. The whole town was packed, which we didn't expect in late-March. Parking at the motel was a little "iffy", but we managed.
Review 132:The lady at the front desk was very helpful. She recommended a Mexican restaurant that was very good. Accommodations were basic, but were clean and comfortable.
Review 133:Rooms are very small and noisy - cleaning staff started working early in the morning and woke us on some days. No breakfast.
Review 134:Easy to walk to the center of town and lots of restaurants. Free bike wash.
Review 135:Beds were very small. Room was very small. Bath room lighting was very bad. Could not see in the showers very good
Review 136:Staff wash very nice. Somewhat close to downtown. Good value for the price
Review 137:Was warmly received by the hotel attendant. Price was very good, and the facility looked like it had been updated. Really small room but had everything we needed.
Review 138:The walls are a little thin, but everyone was pretty quiet so it wasn't too big of a deal.
Review 139:The room was really clean! A great place to stay in Moab.
