Reviews for Genetti Hotel - Williamsport

Review 1:I was upgraded to a suite, which was such a nice surprise! And I had to leave early. The person at the desk was very accommodating. I had been staying at the Marriott Suites, but will now stay at the Genetti whenever I come into town

Review 2:bathroom too small to be comfortably functional and breakfast (food) looked good but was poor quality

Review 3:Location (easy to get to and convenient), staff (friendly and helpful) and comfortable ambiance (except for "didn't likes")

Review 4:This is a classic old hotel that has unfortunately lost its luster. Lacks the spaciousness and comfort of a modern hotel without the historical charm and character to compensate. Next time would probably stay at a Hampton Inn for about the same price.

Review 5:Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet was pretty good and had lots of offerings for people of different tastes. Location was convenient for our needs and there was ample, free parking next to the hotel.

Review 6:It's a little bit crowd in the lobby because there was a pool game held in the hotel when we stayed

Review 7:Rooms are big and facilities are great. Good restaurant around.

Review 8:The rooms needs to be updated. Keep the historic feel but beds were old and uncomfortable. shower area was small. carpet had stains.

Review 9:the friendly staff and historic atmosphere.

Review 10:Love character and history of the hotel. Also like that there is a restaurant/bar on the premises and that breakfast is included in the price of your stay. The location is close to Lycoming College, where our son attends and plays football. #GoWarriors

Review 11:Broken smoke detectors, hair on water cup. Restaurant not great. Booked on wrong date.

Review 12:Staff was accomodating and upgraded us to suite to atone for their error. Nice suite.

Review 13:The breakfast could be more European, including cheese and cold cuts.

Review 14:In these small city, the hotel is the best in town. Free rental bikes provided by the hotel was great!

Review 15:Bathroom needs to be updated. Too small. Disappointed with the dinner meal at hotel restaurant

Review 16:Very comfortable beds. Room was pleasant. Breakfast food was good. Offered a good selection.

Review 17:whole hotel is old and hasn't been renovated for decades (altho some rooms may have been but we didn't get them). Rooms are dirty, bathrooms are really dated and mildewed with chipping paint; walls between rooms very thin

Review 18:location, friendly staff, breakfast buffet is excellent

Review 19:Our room was on the back side of the hotel overlooking the pool, we had to go outside of the beautiful hotel to a balcony and rooms where it looked like their staff stayed. There were chairs on the walkway with ashtrays on them and when we came back to go to bed there were 3 to 4 people smoking outside of our non smoking room at 1:30 AM.

Review 20:Seen tons of advertisements for the place all the way from home to the hotel, so I had a great feeling about the place. It also had a secured gated parking lot. The free breakfast was awesome with very friendly staff.

Review 21:Our room was not in the original hotel. The property was shop-worn and effective of the eighties rather than its historical roots.

Review 22:Location and unique history of the hotel.

Review 23:It is an extremely old and dated property. I understand that it is a historic property, but internal upgrades could be done to keep the integrity of the building while making it feel less like a horror film location. My husband and I stayed there on our wedding night to stay somewhere special before leaving the next day for our honeymoon, and it could not have been less romantic. There was also an unknown substance sitting in the light fixture above the bed. We were too exhausted after our wedding when we got there to say anything about it, and we hurried out in the morning. I was excited to stay at the famous Williamsport locale, but we were disappointed.

Review 24:We were able to get a room at a great price and the staff was very nice and pleasant to work with.

Review 25:We enjoyed the good size room, the cleanliness, the nice bathroom with a medicine cabinet and the great free hot bar breakfast! Also enjoyed the dinner in the lounge/restaurant.

Review 26:Room seem small and cramped . The bathroom was very very small

Review 27:The bed was very comfortable and the staff was very pleasant . And the free breakfast was great

Review 28:The hotel is worn down. Bathroom had mildewed tile, rusty dropped ceiling frames, ancient plumbing, chipping paint, carpet was stained and dirty, cleaning was haphazard (crumbs and dirt under beds and around furniture). VERY thin walls so you can hear neighbors' tv's and talking, and loud music from downstairs ballrooms (I was on the 7th fl)

Review 29:friendly staff, excellent breakfast that comes with the room, free easy parking, central location

Review 30:No hot tub and the pool was closed for the season.

Review 31:This was our first stay at the Genetti. We loved the hotel, the location is great, the hotel is historic and great, the breakfast was hot and wonderful. Great staff, free parking and free coffee. The rooms are quiet and the bed extremely comfortable. Loved the brewery and shops located right next to the hotel

Review 32:I have a dog and I understand shedding, but a large hair ball at the door was the first thing I saw...... The biker party at poolside was loud, and the motorcycles leaving early am was also loud.

Review 33:location - close to Penn College

Review 34:The walls were so thin I felt like the people next door were actually in our room! Also the chair in our room had a stain that should get cleaned up.

Review 35:Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food. A good value for the money in a historic building. Free parking was a plus! Loved looking at all the photos of the famous people who have stayed there. Very cool!

Review 36:Bathroom full of pubic hair. Used tissues under sink. Nobody has moved any furniture to clean in ages: piles of dust and bits of trash. Noisy. Someone having really enthusiastic sex, or being murdered next door. Hear everything in hall. Bathroom very tight. Tiles falling off. Mildew.

Review 37:Breakfast and location good.

Review 38:When we booked through booking.com we were not asked if we were aaamembers and then we were not allowed our aaa discount when wechecked in.

Review 39:We love staying at the Genetti very beautiful comfortable hotel. Greatbreakfast in the mornings. Close to everything in Downtown Williamsport.

Review 40:The breakfast was only mediocre and it seemed as though the staff really wasn't prepared for the amount of guests that were present.

Review 41:I really like the Genetti. Yes, it is an older hotel but it is clean, comfortable, parking was easy and it is within walking distance to many places. It's also nice to be able to have a meal or a drink on the premises.

Review 42:Checking out to leave

Review 43:Customer service beyond reproach!Initial issue with room immediately addressed above and beyond expectation. Staff is helpful, courteous, pleasant and provide a refreshing change compared to large chains. Personal touch that cannot be found at other hotels. Will DEFINITELY come again!

Review 44:Bar / restaurant closing early - like 9pm! It was Sunday after LLWS and the town shut down - the hotel should stay open for guests - even when it got full they closed the kitchen and we're trying to close the bar? Really ? Why?

Review 45:Nice staff, great historic hotel - very cool . Rooms so comfy -

Review 46:i reserved a smoking room and did not get it there was food in the freezer every time i went to the front desk i was made to wait a very long time just to have a question answered.

Review 47:the waitress at the bar

Review 48:The staff made us feel special and gave us a free room upgrade for no reason . The food was excellent . This was our first visit to the Little League World series and we will definitely be back again .

Review 49:My husband and I went to Williamsport to watch the Little League World Series and booked this hotel. We loved it! The exterior reminded me of a by gone era, which I liked. It's location was close to the transit center where we caught the bus that carted us to and from the stadiums for a very small fee. There were also restaurants and clubs within walking distance which eliminated the need for us to drive anywhere. The staff were great! Andrea', Sig and Kathy at the front desk made our comfort and enjoyment their priority. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic too! Lots of options. And the 4th Street Grille attached to the hotel was a blast. Diane the bartender was wonderful. A lot of the team families were staying at the hotel so hanging out at the bar and talking to them was so much fun. The room was comfortable and we felt like we were staying in a friend's guest room. Some of the team families seemed to have a different type so I can't say whether their room were identical to ours but they seemed to be enjoying themselves. We stayed on the 6th floor. We were relaxed the whole time. Being able to come and go from the stadium on the bus, stopping at the bar and then resting in our room made it a good weekend. We'd stay there again.

Review 50:Your guest above us kept tv on all night & when air-cond. was not running was hard to sleep because of noise factor

Review 51:The history of the hotel & convenience to not only downtown but also to the LLWS.

Review 52:It was crowded because of the Little Leafue World Series that the city was hosting. But, there were no rowdy guests or problems. The wait times for elevators and food service was a little longer. An attentive and reactive staff minimized disruptions

Review 53:This is an old fashioned hotel built in the 1920's. It has an old time appeal but modern amenities. You are actually appreciated as a customer and valued enough to return over and over because of their hospitality

Review 54:The walls seemed a bit thin and I could hear the TV in the next room most of the night. The building has been renovated, but could benefit from some deeper renovations.

Review 55:The hotel is historic and well located downtown. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing.

Review 56:I did not like the fact that I had to flush the toilet in my room 3 times to get the toilet paper to go down.

Review 57:The location was close to all the downtown nightlife which was good and bad. Being a smoker, and a single white female, I did not feel safe outside bymyself late at night. In fact I was chased back in by a group of random men who were making me EXTREMLY uncomfortable.

Review 58:Shower pressure was poor. Breakfast food was good but eating area really needs a refresh.

Review 59:Staff was friendly and responsive. Room was clean and well appointed.

Review 60:Room is a little small,as is the washrooms ..but we were only sleeping there and then moving on to our next stop.

Review 61:The staff were super friendly and the breakfast was wonderful.

Review 62:I thought the food was a little bland, and I would have preferred a cheaper price than I paid. I paid around 120 I believe, and I feel I should have paid 85-90.

Review 63:I liked the atmosphere and nice front desk people.

Review 64:The breakfast buffet was horrendous. We thought it was open until 11 butit closed at 10. We got down there by 9:45 (it closed at 10). all of thefood was gone, including creamers for coffee. There were no clean platesor silverware. We kept asking the staff for these items and we keptgetting told they would be out shortly. We didn't get anything until20 minutes later when I loudly complained. They threw a couple of piecesof French toast on the platter and that was it. No fruit, no eggs, nosausage gravy. We had cheese Danish and some dried up sausage links.

Review 65:I loved the rooms by the pool. It was nice to be close to where the kidswanted to be.

Review 66:elevator was not working properly. dealing with intoxicated wedding guests during our stay. Not enough security visible

Review 67:the history of the Hotel is amazing. Nice pool.

Review 68:Dust on fan blade. Carpet stain. Musty smell in the lobby and hallways. The front desk didn't even acknowledge me.

Review 69:There wasn't much to like. The overall hotel was dirty. The others guests didn't seem not happy as well.

Review 70:I was on the 5th floor and there was a wedding in the banquet room. The bass was very audible, but on the good side it didn't last very long into the evening. The sidewalk construction made accessing the front lobby from the street awkward and the secure access to the parking was not usable. This meant that parking was easy to access through an open gate and everyone could park there. The construction was by the city per the front desk so they have no control over it. Neither would stop me from staying there again but good info before you arrive.

Review 71:Downtown location and the price. I like historic hotels as they have character.

Review 72:The room was fantastic, the food at the wedding was superb, and so was the breakfast the next morning. Trying to find a reason to travel to that area again just to be able to stay at the Genetti once more.

Review 73:Parking fee every time we left the lot at $5.00 a pop was a bit high. And our comfy room backed the squeaking all night elevators. ( We did not know when we booked that a graduation class was going to be there and the partiers did run like rats in the maze almost all night both nights.)

Review 74:The decorations, space, general feel of this older hotel is wonderful. The staff are so efficient, welcoming and tolerant in dealing with guests.

Review 75:Am sure that in its heyday the property was elegant and luxurious. There have been updates, i.e. our shower, ceiling fan, some furnishings, however, the property is worn, i.e. the paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom, the sink drain was clogged, a bulb was out in the bathroom fixture, ceilings need to be painted.

Review 76:Free parking, quiet although there were numerous college graduations that weekend, conveniently located to restaurants, Millionaires Row, and other amenities. Good sized double room and comfortable beds. And the breakfast was, indeed, the best free breakfast:)

Review 77:We loved how they went out of their way to accommodate our family. We requested an early check in - they did that. We requested two adjoining rooms, again they did that. We loved the complimentary breakfast :)

Review 78:Hotel has history and character. It has been well kept, but they are doing some renovations and upgrades. Staff is helpful and friendly, buffet breakfast is great, and location allows you to walk around and explore.

Review 79:WE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TOWELS OR BATHMAT. WE ONLY STAYED ONE NIGHT SO WAS NOT A PROBLEM

Review 80:IT WAS A GOOD LOCATION, EASY TO FIND. BREAKFAST WAS REALLY GOOD.

Review 81:They were doing construction on the sidewalk. Inconvenient to get my handicapped mother in law out.

Review 82:I loved the old charm. They did a great job renovating the hotel. The rooms were fantastic! Great breakfast too.

Review 83:My room was not cleaned properly but the tip envelope was easy to spot. The food we did eat wasn't the best. Really disappointed that the pool wasn't open as it's advertised. Mother's Day is the 2nd weekend of May. It was also graduation weekend. It would have been nice to have the choice to swim or not.

Review 84:Loved the Jacuzzi in the room and how quickly room service delivered our orders. Mother's Day brunch was delicious.

Review 85:Nothing

Review 86:Regular hotels are a dime a dozen. Its not often you come across a hotel that has so much Character, Charm and history all in one. The Genetti is well preserved and they have a staff there to please the custmer. Absolutely Loved it here.

Review 87:Food at the reception wasn't what I expected. Chicken parm especially left much to be desired.

Review 88:Location. It was the reception venue for my sons wedding, so it was very convenient Breakfast was delicious

Review 89:Reservation was a little messed up missing a couple of the upgrades we requested. Staff sorted it out great and ended up with more than we originally signed up for.

Review 90:Service was great to go along with a very clean room.

Review 91:Refrigerator was warm. No exhaust vent in bathroom needed air freshener

Review 92:Clean and comfortable Nice TV with good channels Bed was great Great free breakfast

Review 93:The fruit on the breakfast buffet was not tasty but everything else was fine. Chord for light in closet broke our last day there.

Review 94:We liked Ll the staff, especially Kathy at front desk. Food in restaurant and catered party was excellent. Room was nice and clean. Linens were nice too.

Review 95:Doors slamming at night woke us up many times, shower water was not hot (only luke warm)

Review 96:Friendly staff, nice room, great location, great breakfast buffet

Review 97:Pillows were way too firm and large at the same time. At some points I tried to sleep without a pillow because of it. Bed was a bit too firm as well.

Review 98:Very clean, friendly staff. The hotel has great style. Room was very large.

Review 99:Love love loved everything about it!!!

Review 100:Limited channels on the tv. Smoking too close to rear entrance

Review 101:Very friendly staff. Beautiful room. Very clean.

Review 102:No dislikes

Review 103:They upgraded us to a honey moon suite!!!!??

Review 104:Its a lovely hotel to stay at and only 4.5 hours from home. The restaurants nearby are great and its a feel good place to visit!

Review 105:N/A

Review 106:The letter on the pillow from the owner. The lovely breakfast. The location.

Review 107:Every thing about the hotel was amazing.

Review 108:i enjoyed the style of the hotel, a lot of history, elegant and nice to see it is not a chain. area of town had things to see also;

Review 109:Usually a little disappointed with the bathroom, but that's the only thing I could say I didn't like

Review 110:Rooms are great

Review 111:Dingy, dated dark rooms that needs a complete uplift. Would not return or recommend.

Review 112:Been staying there for years. Love it.

Review 113:Outdated

Review 114:Place should be upgraded. Nice old line hotel but rooms can use a freshening.

Review 115:Location. Breakfast

Review 116:The walls are thin, could the people in the next room.

Review 117:The breakfast is very good and the staff was friendly.

Review 118:The friendliest staff.

Review 119:My wife and I like to stay at non chain hotels. The older the better. Gives one a glimpse back at history.

Review 120:The wifi in the room could of been better a lot of dead spots

Review 121:The hotel is beautiful , breakfast was good , the people are very friendly. Loved our Visio!

Review 122:Very comfortable room and quite. The room had easy access. This is important for us since my wife does not do well on stairs.

Review 123:Small bathroom.

Review 124:Very clean and wonderful breakfast.

Review 125:Nothing in particular.

Review 126:Great staff who were so helpful and such a particular hotel.

Review 127:Close to the Little League World Series. Hotel was in walking distance to good restaurants.

Review 128:All of the staff was friendly. The continental breakfast was amazing. The room was comfortable and clean. I loved everything about the Genetti
