Reviews for Nisanyan Hotel
Review 1:If you want to rest, I mean really relax and enjoy a traditional Turkish village house, Nisanyan is the place to stay. They have a hotel with rooms and also some houses. We preferred to stay at the Hamamlı Ev (House with Turkish Bath). It is a two floor village house, tastefully decorated and designed for those who truly would like to rest and relax.
Review 2:Nothing!
Review 3:This collection of buildings is most amazing, isolated, quiet, beautiful and just very cool. The walk to town was very easy and most convenient. But we had two most perfect events. The first, a bottle of wine and cigar besides the secluded pool and the next morning for breakfast a most beautiful view along with the best breakfast we have had in a long time.
Review 4:The road was too bad for transportation, as it is located far from the main attraction area it is not easy to go down and then to climb the hill.
Review 5:Nice hotel with wonderful view at top of the hill. Clean and with perfect decoration which fits the spirit of the town.
Review 6:couldn't fault hotel sirince has some pretty rude hawkers which was a pain scary roads up to hotel
Review 7:beautiful hotel and location friendly staff fantastic breakfast superlative rroms in main inn
Review 8:Not bad, but no facilities for young children espcially in the village, broken swings and crass things on sale, staff a little ryan air ish ifyou know what I mean,
Review 9:Pool and location
Review 10:The hotel looks more like a pension. The room didn't have a TV. Not worth the money I paid. I have travelled a lot and this is the worse place I have stayed at. Paying 110 euros for this so called hotel in a small town in Turkey I felt ripped-off.
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:Lack of pre-warning as to the difficult climb/access to the varied accommodation was frustrating for some of the guests.
Review 13:Highly unusual experience - accommodation styling in a setting meant to relax and invigorate.
Review 14:The village itself was very touristy with somewhat aggressive shop owners. But it is easy to avoid from Nisanyans location.
Review 15:Beautiful unique but traditional homes with great views of the village and very convenient to Ephesus. Great food served on beautiful terrace. Staff was hilarious and personable. The hillside and trails surrounding are beautifully plantedw herbs and fruit trees, plus lotus ponds, frogs, ducks and peacocks. Loved this place
Review 16:It's in the hills, so requires a drive up on little mountain roads from the village.
Review 17:In a gloriously lovely hill setting above the village of Sirince, Nisanyan is a great place to reboot and just enjoy after a day of sight seeing and trekking. Beautifully appointed rooms with antiques & kilims, great pool, fountains, garden and spots all over to just relax. Incredible, varied breakfast of homemade cakes, cheeses, yogurts, olives, meats, jams and eggs if you'd like. Wonderful staff. Cottages are quaint, quiet, marvelous. Peacocks, wildlife, and spectacular views of mountains, vineyards and the beautiful town available all over the large property. Great for couples, and also met families loving the place.
Review 18:Had a great expectation for breakfast after such a fantastic dinner previous night, but it failed.
Review 19:Comfortable bed and rooms with authentic decoration. Fantastic view over Sirince. Fantastic dinner prepared with fresh and local ingredients and very attentive waiters.
Review 20:It would be nice if breakfast could be served it a bit earlier for those that may need to leave for the airport or a tour, but that's it. Nothing else.
Review 21:Nisanyan is a very special place. The setting is incredible and everywhere you turn there is something new to discover. Each room, cottage, common area is beautifully curated, like walking through an eclectic and stunning collection of country life. If you stay here, which you must do, please don't spend all your time exploring away from the hotel. Make sure you create time to just enjoy this special place. And, the food! Delicious, hearty, fresh and served on the splendid terrace overlooking Sirince or in the most cosy dining room you'll ever find. Thank you Sonya and everyone at Nisanyan!
Review 22:No bad experiences. Wifi was unreliable in our room but this seems a small drawback when balanced against the positives.
Review 23:Fabulous character, service, food and views. We loved the beautifully-presented booklet that outlined this hotel's history. Excellent value, too.
Review 24:If I have to say something here: wifi signal in room not good but this wasn't a huge issue
Review 25:Beautiful views, excellent food, seclusion, farm style cottage, friendly staff
Review 26:This is the best hotel we've stayed in Turkey in this trip. The location is on the top of the town and room decoration is impressive. We'll definitely come back.
Review 27:Nothing at all but leaving the hotel was sad.
Review 28:Absolutely everything. Everything was very well thought, every piece (rooms, furnitures, restaurant, food, outdoor...) gives you an undefined pleasure. When everything comes together it is the paramount of a small hotel experience. I believe this is the ultimate end of hedonism in lodging.
Review 29:Power outage at night (but this is Turkey, after all, and this happens frequently and is not the hotel's fault).
Review 30:The staff - they were so helpful with any request. View over the village and countryside The food.
Review 31:The wifi didn't work in our room (Cottage 2)
Review 32:The breakfast was simply amazing, the sunset views stunning, and the cottage (with a fireplace) was very cozy and romantic.
Review 33:Booking problems. Asked for house and we got cottage and room instead, with a discount that ended up having us pay the amount we would've paid if we'd originally booked a cabin and a room. Should've gotten better discount for the mixup. Location in village requires taxi ride from selcuk which can be somewhat pricey.
Review 34:Location was nice in the mountains overlooking village The cabin was nice The village had good food Very comfortable
Review 35:Some cons to consider: If you are a baby like me, the road to get up to the hotel might be a bit challenging. I wouldn't suggest trying to find the hotel for the first time in the dark or bad weather. If you have difficulty walking, this might not be the place for you. There are many pitched cobblestone paths and you have a short hike into town if you don't want to drive.
Review 36:I loved this hotel! It's perched on the top of the hill with a great view. There are several buildings on the property with different rooms. Ours was in the Tower building, with a huge, comfortable room and a beautiful bathroom. The dining room is so charming. The food is delicious. The staff is EXCELLENT. It's the perfect base to explore Ephesus and the surrounding area.
Review 37:Wifi was a little spotty but even that was no big deal.
Review 38:Great staff, great restaurant, excellent rooms, I wish we could have stayed longer than 2 days. Make sure to sign up for a cooking class - they're awesome!
Review 39:It is on a slope, so you will have to walk up but if you do not have any health problems, it is definitely worth it.
Review 40:Decoration, room size, bathrooms in the tower were amazing. Also breakfast was very delicious. All rooms are different but they are all very pretty. The pool looked amazing. It is really peaceful out there.
Review 41:This was the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in with a philosophy to welcome us and to be helpful. We had one of the Greek houses which was huge for our family of five. There were lots of nooks to discover and sit and ponder. The view was spectacular over the village. We had an experience we will never forget and one we would love to repeat again.
Review 42:nothing…............…..............
Review 43:I like everything of the hotel, the view, decoration, breakfast-in deed, the best i have ever had in Turkey. And the tukish batj is also a siper great experience.
Review 44:In the room there is no freezer, even a small one. Thats bad, because if you want to drink some cold as a wine or even water is impossible. I see no reason for that and it is not the first hotel where this kind of think happens in Turkey and makes my wonder if it is a dumb way to avoid the guests of bring they own beverage to the room and obey them to buy it from the hotel.
Review 45:The place is amazing, in the middle of the mountains with the city of Sirince right under you, the Nisanyan hotel is ideal for the people who are searching for a good place to relax and yet enjoy all the great attractions near by. We have stayed at the number 1 cottage, it is out of the main building, and, with the others cottages seen to be like a hotel inside the hotel. The room is big, and the bath room is very particular, with a typical turkish bath sink. The breakfast is amazing, full of options and everything is very, very fresh, made locally. The pool is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. They have a small Turkish bath inside the main building, find a time to do this.
Review 46:Poor service, small room, ordinary food and appalling staff party noise until 2am below our room. Booked for 2 nights; left after 1.
Review 47:Nice building, setting and decor
Review 48:As it has become too much unavoidable in our daily life to have the internet connectivity, a strong wifi network would be really advisable!!!
Review 49:We can really call it a home more than a hotel as everyone there welcomed us with great attitude as if we walked in there as their family members. It's a perfect choice to be in there to enjoy what's in the whole Ephesus. The old village is just a 5 minutes walk down from the hotel and travellers from busy city life would certainly fall in love with the beauty of the old village. Of course, those who don't like to walk should better avoid this property as it's up on a mountain and it's not very advisable to drive for moving around the property.
Review 50:Nothing.
Review 51:We had a stunning loft style room with wrap around window seats, with homemade cushions and quirky antique style furnishings. The whole place is boutique style, so very charming, like staying in a village - lots of little villas dotted around, joined by paved walkways, all different and you hardly came across anyone else! Lovely marble pool. Fantastic food, fabulous views, great family service. Loved the veggie patch and gardens. The hotel is perched on a ridge overlooking a valley so the views are beautiful from every angle. Great base to see the surrounding sights, villages and ruins. Could stay for a week, easily! Recommend the restaurant over any in the Sirence village.
Review 52:We really enjoyed our stay. The location is on a hillside set above town. We enjoyed sunsets on the terrace where dinner is served. Our cottage was set above the pool--a refreshing break after touring Ephesus.
Review 53:Location is perfect for nature walks
Review 54:it would be nice if the bathroom doors were lockable
Review 55:Overall atmosphere, décor, location, comfortable beds
Review 56:rustic decour fits the beatufil village sirince makes one feel like living in a village with 5 star houses from the inside
Review 57:Superb setting. Simplicity with style and comfort. Perfect pool. No TV.
Review 58:Stuff and everthing was excelent..
Review 59:Its a magical place. We enjoyed every single second.
Review 60:Friendly wo
Review 61:everything, heaven on earth
Review 62:Uncomfortable driving in the narrow village road, but obviously the hotel is worthy trophy to endure this..!!!
Review 63:Everything about the hotel..!
Review 64:bed was creaky and not too comfortable
Review 65:cottages are rustic and spacious and great food
Review 66:Pretty overrated. Staff arrogant - food OK and not cheap for Turkey. Access to property is abysmal
Review 67:Lovely home-style accommodation.
Review 68:spread over a steep hill
Review 69:The view is amazing, rooms are very quirky
Review 70:That I didn't know to stay longer.
Review 71:The natural setting, sounds and lodgings. Flowers, fountains, peacocks, great food. Enthusiastic helpful staff.
Review 72:Location a bit isolated for some, but central for all our sightseeing
Review 73:Helpfulness of staff
Review 74:Breakfast was extraordinary.
Review 75:Everything. Especially the authentic and excellent ambiance.
Review 76:Location, natural setup, host of the place, rooms
Review 77:It is a piece of paradise. Tranquil and peaceful. Beautiful views and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Review 78:accomodation and food prices somewhat steep considering location and basic equipment.
Review 79:beautiful and very peaceful setting in nice natural surroundings as well as nicely decorated cottages; focus is on relaxation (no distractions such as TV, very limited Wi-Fi). Beautiful breakfast terrace.
Review 80:Poor wi Fi reception in cottages.
Review 81:Out of this world environment with beauty & charm wherever you find yourself in this dreamy place which unfurls in winding hillside paths with stunning valley & village views to generous unique accommodation & gorgeous eating & relaxing areas.
Review 82:our room in the inn portion was small and I felt like the guests in the surrounding rooms could hear everything we said. Would still recommend, but for privacy maybe would try a larger room.
Review 83:great views, proximity to ephesus (not too close to tourist centers, not too far to drive to them), great breakfasts and dinners, comfortable living area, nice hikes around Sirince
Review 84:I cancelled one night by calling the hotel. But I did not cancel onbooking.com - And the hotel tried to charge me the extra night that Icancelled when I called them. They eventually only charged me 20 eurosextra, but this was their mistake, not mine - and I was punished with a20 euro fine for it.
Review 85:Excellent service, food, peace and quiet, friendly people, very clean
Review 86:Nothing really to complain about. There was a slight cock-up over rooms for the first two days, but we were possibly partly to blame for that. The English of some staff is a limitation, but equally better than at other places we stayed.
Review 87:The situation of the Hotel is excellent, although a challenge for anyone with limited mobility. The staff are excellent, with a good attention to details and friendly, whilst respecting boundaries an personal space
Review 88:beds were too hard for our tastes, overall property needs more upkeep. Example, branches from bush hanging over pool, untrimmed plants guarding our entrance.
Review 89:unique cottages, great breakfasts
Review 90:Staff members with few exceptions were generally sour in disposition and not gracious. Breakfast items (at main lodge location) were not offered, and provided reluctantly when requested. There were repeated, unsmiling requests for room numbers at breakfast (which is included), lunch and dinner (in a facility with a small total number of rooms), and frequent reminders that herbal tea, etc. costs extra. Presents a confused vision of itself: is it really supposed to be laid-back (be free to do-it or pick-it yourself) or classy (initial welcome, relatively higher end prices, expensive dinner menu) -- and if the latter, can't more than one washcloth be provided per room?
Review 91:Setting. Tranquility. Food. Initial welcome.
Review 92:The cottage we stayed in was too basic. I know it is supposed to be rustic but doors that fit properly, some more storage and a few extra plug sockets etc shouldn't detract from this objective.
Review 93:Nice staff, good food, great views, peace and quiet, beautiful grounds.
Review 94:I ove all the beauty of the place. The house we stayed at was really lovely. A gift of wine, olives, cookies and jams spreads, butter and sausage and eggs was waiting for us. The views are maxing of the surrounding hills and twn of sirince. Also the market is so close to the hotel
Review 95:The location was wonderful as well as the design of the interior of our house, the food at the restaurant was magnificent, a short walk to the village and a 10 minute drive to Ephesus. The staff was wonderful as well
Review 96:Walk to our house was a bit steep and not level. Staff could have been more helpful with information about the community.
Review 97:Beautiful location. Really fun houses. Lots of options for things to do. Good size of property. Food was great.
Review 98:You definitely need a car as the hotel is at the end of a long andwinding road. The cottages are spread out and this would not suit anyonenot wishing to walk for meals etc. SatNav was a godsend.
Review 99:The most beautiful views and charming accommodation with amazing respectto detail. The staff spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful. The food was good, particularly the breakfasts.
Review 100:This was a magical experience for me and my two sons, 21 and 18. We loved the small house we rented which was totally charming and well-appointed, we loved climbing up the winding streets and staircases of Sirince to the house and hotel, the food at the hotel was fabulous, and then looking down over the village at night with the lights of the village twinkling below and the stars twinkling above and the only sound the occasional bark of a dog. The boys had a wonderful ramble on the trails up on the hills surrounding Sirince. This was a once in a lifetime experience!
Review 101:There was a construction just in front of the house. I think it was apart of their property and making a new building. It wasn't thatcomfortable that they started quite early morning and the working peoplelooked up us every time we came out from the door.
Review 102:We stayed in one of the houses and we loved it so much. It was veryprivate and relaxing. The stuff was all nice and spoke English well. Thevillage atmosphere was lovely. There are so many nice trails around thehotel. We enjoyed hiking as well but almost got lost. The hotel gave usa map of some walking courses but I hope they can have better map withmore details.
Review 103:We loved everything about this hotel and actually considered extending our trip specifically to stay at this location. The views, the food, the accommodations, and the staff were all exceptional.
Review 104:There was nothing I did not like!
Review 105:Sirincie is a spectacularly beautiful little Turkish village. The hotel is very charming, with each room having its own personal story and decor. The meals are incredible. But most important, the people working there are over the top friendly and helpful. We definitely hope to return!!
Review 106:Felt a bit oversold. Positions itself as a boutique hotel which it isn't, it's a home stay, and the atmosphere is not really conducive to relaxing around the hotel. The staff are not amazingly professional, but are all very friendly. Uncomfortably it attracts a slightly snobby clientèle who ruined our stay on a couple of occasions, so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone below the age of 40, or for romantic getaways, as you can't avoid the other guests. Bit too rigid on meal times, feels like someone's house at times, and too many mistakes made with things we felt were important. We stayed in the inn, so I imagine the chalets out back are more private and romantic.
Review 107:Location and the actually design of the hotel are classy, very classy. The food was very good, and the hamam is very nice. Excellent views and good access to Selcuk and Efes. Lots of valid information in the hotel guide, very informed staff, exquisite decoration.
Review 108:Compared to other hotels in Turkey where we were welcomed by the owner, the staff of this hotel was a little more cold and impersonal
Review 109:The hotel is beautiful, the breakfast excellent. Walking distance to the village. Nisanyan's children were very kind and guided us to the village in the night. They made the stay in this hotel more friendly
Review 110:Dinner was no good. They have a fancy menu that gives high aspirations, but the food just did not have any taste at all (and with 5 persons we all had different menu's and none of them was tasteful). What a pity in such a lovely hotel where you want to enjoy a nice meal in their romantic setting. Breakfast was ok though.
Review 111:Very nice, old romantic cottages with view over the village. Nicely decorated. Beautiful bathroom, beautiful embroided towels, nice toiletries. A bottle of wine, chocolates and drinks for free in the cottage. Romantic swimming-pool. Calm. Good situated to visited Selcuk and Ephesis. All very beautiful. It is the nicest hotel we had in Turkey and we really deplored that we could only stay one night. We will certainly come back and can highly recommend it.
Review 112:Beautiful place in the middle of the mountains - wonderful romantic atmosphere, amazing pool with a fantastic view, great food and wonderful choice of local wines
Review 113:Great location, peaceful place to sty with very helpful staff. The place is absolutely beautiful and you feel like you really are part of the village for a few days. Close to Ephesus and from the place, you can easily plan day trips
Review 114:Wireless didn't work in cottages, only in lobby. Breakfast an hour late --the morning we had to leave early -- because staff overslept. (Actually, there's something charming about that...)
Review 115:Beautiful setting at the top of a mountain next to a picturesque town. Peacocks, ducks, donkeys -- lots of sounds at night!
Review 116:The Nisanyan was a bit beyond our planned budget, but on a friend'srecommendation we went anyway for five nights and are really glad wemade this choice. We had a large deluxe room in the Tower (#4) with ourown terrace area with couches and table/chairs, a view of the villagefar below, and birds and flowers all around. Incredibly peaceful withno vehicles, TVs or even telephones. We loved the marble walk-inshower, the Roman marble pool, the spectacular open breakfast room onthe edge of the mountain, the food and lovely setting of therestaurant, and even the steep walk down to the village. Our purpose forbeing in the area was to visit Ephesus and other nearby ancient sites, but three of the days we just hung around the Nisanyan. You will need acar and can rent from the hotel or pick one up at the airport at Izmir.Lovely, helpful staff.
Review 117:Perfect location, great room, great meals and brilliant professional and friendly staff. This is one of the very best small hotels we have ever stayed at!
Review 118:The rooms were too small (althought lovely decorated), with lack ofspace to put bags (that had to stay on the floor). The shower was bad, because the water pression was too low, and also couldn't regulate thewater temperature (either too hot or cold). No full size mirror!
Review 119:Beautiful place, very well deorated, in a magnific site, withmarvellous views.
Review 120:The cottages are chilly with no central heating. An electric heater wasused to provide heat--not a very elegant solution for an expensive room.Wireless connection was spotty. The room smelled of insecticide for thefirst day we were there. Expensive.
Review 121:Beautiful location. Charming cottages. Breakfast was tasty and sizable.
Review 122:Great location in a really cute town with fair prices compared toIstanbul. Meals were great and the included breakfast was the best wehad anywhere in Turkey.
Review 123:The hotel was super in the sense of exotic and cozy atmosphere. We were 6 members(4 adults and 2 kids), so we rented a separate house and enjoyed utmost unforgettable experience with the traditional Turkish house. All the staff was kind, nice and decent. The meal was good; not only free-breakfast but also paid-dinner. The decoraton of all the house is gorgeous and classy. Their own rent-car service was also satisfactory. In a word, Super itself^^^^
Review 124:Staff is lacking professionalism. Not good at following through with requests for assistance. Wifi service is terrible
Review 125:Visually beautiful
