Reviews for The Lodge at Turbat's Creek
Review 1:BREAKFAST WAS COLD CEREAL SERVED ON A COLD PORCH. IT WAS VERY COLD OUTSIDE. SOME UNAPPETIZING PASTRIES. OTHERWISE YOU SAT IN THE OFFICE AND BALANCED THE FOOD ON YOUR LAP.
Review 2:TOILET BROKE DOWN. ONE YOUNG LADY ON THE STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND HELPFUL
Review 3:Our room was smelly and the bed linen was unclean and badly made. We examined five rooms before finding one that was acceptable. The receptionist explained that the cleaner was not very reliable!! Fortunately we only stayed one night.
Review 4:The location was good and the breakfast was acceptable.
Review 5:Isolated and needs refurb. You have to drive to reach kennebunkport as there are no local taxi's, charges are $20+ which is extortion for the 2 miles which you couldn't walk after dark with no street lights or footpaths
Review 6:Receptionist was extremley informative and helpful
Review 7:Four cousins from Canada (in our 70s) stayed at the Lodge for two nights. We were very pleased with everything - and especially with the breakfast! The staff were always pleasant and very helpful. We would definitely recommend the Lodge to anyone looking for a place to stay in Kennebunkport.
Review 8:Room a little dated. Not really an issue though..a little out of the way but lovely setting.
Review 9:Very welcoming at reception. Helpful and very friendly. Lovely bathroom, excellent shower. Pool area clean and plenty of sun loungers of good quality. Sitting areas outside to eat breakfast or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Covered area to sit outside and enjoy breakfast if weather not so good. Breakfast perfectly adequate and enjoyable good orange juice and good coffee. Cereals . Bagels muffins pastries and sweet muffins, cream cheese and various jams and peanut butter. Fridge in room
Review 10:Because of its location being sheltered I don't think the rooms get much air so ours smelled musty. The bed sheets themselves were clean but the cover our was dirty, didn't bother us too much as all clean below it!
Review 11:The pool is just lovely really warm and sheltered too. Sophie is amazing she is so helpful and informative and she does a lovely breakfast each day!
Review 12:Breakfast okay. fresh fruit would have been nice. information book in room said newspaper would be at the desk, there were not any. I though the info book said there was a exercise room.
Review 13:Location; place to walk; homey atmosphere.
Review 14:Not the fault of the hotel but you need to be aware that a 3 mile taxi into Kennebunkport is $25 one way which is the most expensive taxi ride I have ever had that wasn't from a airport in the world!!
Review 15:Lovely grounds, very good breakfast, lovely staff. Quiet location with a nice pool.
Review 16:The fitted sheets on the beds did not fit well, so came loose during the night.
Review 17:Sophie at reception was wonderful - she was very helpful in every way, both with local information on restaurants and places to visit and in making sure that everything was good in our room, providing pool towels, etc. The Lodge is in a quiet location, but only about 5 minutes by car from the centre of Kennebunkport.
Review 18:Advertised as in the midst of everything...actually, it was quite out of the way and required driving to and from shops, dining, etc. we ended up not able to find a vacancy & had to drive back to Portland that night.
Review 19:The walls are a little thin. I was able to hear the people talking in the room next door.
Review 20:Wonderful location, Helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff.
Review 21:Although later in the season,we could see where the facilities outside would be quite enjoyable, the pool.the grounds and easy chairs in areas where you could still have the privacy to relax with a good book.Overall very well maintained for an older facility. Good value!
Review 22:slightly dated wall colours, basic continental breakfast but ok
Review 23:friendly, very helpful staff, warm pool, clean rooms with good beds, clean bathrooms, pretty landscaping
Review 24:location not ideal for walking into town; need a car for even short trips (to grocers, downtown shops, waterfront, etc)

Review 77:convenience to town
Review 78:Beds comfortable, everything spotless, bathroom well stocked, room huge, reception stand wonderful, so quiet yet close to the village centre.
Review 79:We have a small dog and it is so nice to have a great room and a place to take the dog for "duty" calls.
Review 80:Have no negatives to comment on.
Review 81:We liked the fact that we could stay for one night. We travel between Boston and Maine wanting to spend most of our time with grandchildren. We love to stop in Kennebunkport to celebrate our anniversary in your charming town. We appreciated your friendly service and good breakfast.
Review 82:Sophie on reception was fabulous, and reminded my husband of Kathy Najimy (Sister Mary Patrick in Sister Act). Her recommendation of where to go for dinner was first class! The room was spacious and clean and the setting was beautiful and peaceful..
Review 83:I can't think of a single thing.
Review 84:Sophie was the manager of the Inn and she was one of the nicest and most helpful managers I have ever come across! She gave us directions, recommendations where to eat and visit and was genuinely interested in what we did each day and if there was any way she could improve our stay. We stayed for only 4 nights but I wish I could have stayed longer. I liked the quaintness of this Inn. The pool was nice and warm. The towels were soft and the room was bigger than most Inns we have stayed in and the bed was very comfortable!. The Inn was located just about a 1/4 of a mile from the Bush Compound at Walker's Point. We loved this place for the peace and quiet, the nice teak tables and chairs around the property and the breakfast in the morning was very nice with Oatmeal, a variety of cereals, fruit, yogurt and granola, hard boiled eggs, raisen bread and bagels and delicious muffins and pastries. We are looking forward to our next visit!
Review 85:This place was lacking in building maintenance, and needs interior decorating / updating. The whole place needs renovation. The breakfast area is inadequate and breakfast selection lackluster. The location is not within walking distance to anything.
Review 86:The heated outdoor pool was nice. Dericka at the front desk was very pleasant and professional.
Review 87:The Lodge at Turbat's Creek was quite pleasant. When I have traveled throughout my life, I was usually booked into some very plus 5* Hotels and few to compare to a small town Lodge. The only negative,(if one would call it on) is that on line it implies breakfast in your room. I was pleased that there was fresh coffee all day. However the advertisements should be changed to "continental breakfast" available in office. All employees were quite nice.
Review 88:Even though on a main road in a residential area it was very quiet. Additionally even when other guest arrived and departed, it was still quiet outside without any noise. Thank you for that.
Review 89:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 90:The staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the grounds well-kept. We've stayed at this property before and, if anything, it was better this time.
Review 91:The beds! There were two double in each room but both mattresses were old and lumpy! They also moved off their base as you moved during the night!
Review 92:Sophie in reception was wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Rooms were of a reasonable size and clean. Bathrooms spacious and well stocked. Breakfast provided a wide choice and set us up for the day although it was a little cold eating outside in October!
Review 93:The front desk lady was amazing. When I made my reservation the system timed out so I didn't receive a confirmation I immediately called the Lodge and this lady took my information and pre-booked me another room just in case the reservation didn't go through. About 30 minutes later she received the reservation and immediately contacted me to advise me. The service was so personal that will have decided that we will be returning for a more extended stay in the future. The Lodge is very budget friendly and very clean but the service (human touch) put it well over the top for us as canadian travellers. This lady isn't taught this she's just a very special person and kodo's to this resort for recognizing this. They even have a continental breakfast that this same lady maintains to perfection (everything filled continuously and coffee hot)
Review 94:Located down a wooded country road only minutes from beautiful Kennebunkport. Surrounded by trees and wildlife. Heated swimming pool on site. Friendly, helpful staff.
Review 95:the receptionnist ''Sophie'' I think her name is, she is exceptional, friendly, happy, helpful, full of energy, she really is what Lodge at Turbak's Creek is all about a nice place to stay!
Review 96:Outdoor eating area for breakfast not condusive to a cold rainy day. Rooms did have table and chairs though.
Review 97:Comfortable at reasonable rates pleasant helpful staff centrally located beautiful grounds and gardens Rooms were comfortable and clean.
Review 98:Really excellent value!!The room was huge and very peaceful with 2 queen beds , plenty of fluffy towels and everything you would expect from a much more expensive hotel. We had an excellent night's sleep and regretted that we only had enough time for one night. Sophia(name?) on reception, was really lovely and welcoming and suggested a route to take for an afternoon's trip in Kennebunkport and an excellent restaurant for our evening meal(incidentally among the best in a month-long trip to New England--wonderful seafood!) A very peaceful location , would be lovely in the summer.
Review 99:We stayed during Hurricane Sandy and received a warm welcome from Sophiewho ensured our comfort and safety and went that extra mile to help us.Comfortable lodge in a beautiful countryside setting.
Review 100:Not enough indoor room for breakfast. Beds and covers need updating.
Review 101:Sophie, front desk person was extremely helpful and friendly. Room was clean. Continental breakfast was very good.
Review 102:Room was damp which was uncomfortable
Review 103:Staff friendly, location was good, was nice and quiet, continental breakfast was good, pastry was excellent and so was the coffee!!!! : ) budget friendly
Review 104:The hotel manager was amazing. She gave us the best recommendations on activities, beaches, restaurants and more. Everything she recommended was exactly was she said - great! She was so helpful and the rooms were so clean and comfortable, we will definitely go back again.
Review 105:My wife and I had a very pleasant 2 night stay. The manageress was very helpful and gave us excellent recomendations for restaurants in the Kennebunk port area.
Review 106:It was great to have a breakfast, but for those of us with dietary restrictions (no sugar, no gluten), slim pickens. Fresh fruit (not canned) and plain yogurt would have been nice. Whole grain pastries would have been nice.
Review 107:Small, quiet, very well kept, close enough to Goose Rocks Beach.
Review 108:There was nothing not to like. It was all wonderful.
Review 109:We were very happy with the accommodations at the Lodge. The room was clean and comfortable. A complete continental breakfast with excellent coffee was provided as well as a frig in the room, What we appreciated most was the friendly atmosphere, particularly the person who took care of our needs. Her name is Sophie and she could not have been more accommodating. She told us where to find the best meals in the area and even made our reservations for us. We would definitely return to the Lodge if we are fortunate enough to revisit the area. Lake Arrowhead, CA Residents.
Review 110:Itwas located a little further from downtown than I thought, with no sidewalks to walk into town
Review 111:Very friendly and accommodating staff. Rooms were spacious enough not to feel cramped
Review 112:Ask for a room away from the stairs which are noisy.
Review 113:Good location in kennebunkport in a residential neighborhood. Good value in high season. Nice staff, clean rooms, nice pool.
Review 114:We were gone into Kennebunkport the whole day so it was a nice place to spend the night. I think the next time we go back we would probably get a place closer to the shops. It was a good value though.
Review 115:It was very quaint, off the beaten path but nice. It reminded meier of a beach condo with the wooden steps & the simple but clean rooms. I would stay there again for a single night just passing through.
