Reviews for King's Port Inn

Review 1:The room was spacious, very clean and walking distance to everything in town. The staff was very welcoming and we had a nice breakfast that was included in the price of the room.

Review 2:The breakfast choices were not great...no fresh fruit/healthier options. At 7 am on Sunday morning, the electric company started cutting down tree limbs - not the hotels fault but, did effect the stay.

Review 3:The room was nice and comfortable.

Review 4:Shower had to be turned up fully for hot water to work but we had hit water when it was up fully so no real complaint.

Review 5:We got in early on Thanksgiving and were told although we couldn't get into our room we could park which was awesome because we walked around. Great central location. We only started the night and left early for Black Friday deals so didn't use many services but as advertised.

Review 6:Older property room a little worn. tiny bathroom.

Review 7:Great location walk to shops and restaurants. One mile to beach and Ocean dr to see mansions.3 miles to Rachel Carson refuge. Great made to order waffles.

Review 8:We were greeted by a very enthusiastic, friendly, helpful hotel clerk which was such a joy after a long day! The hotel was conveniently located in the adorable Kennebunkport village. Loved everything about it!

Review 9:Our stay wasn't bad or good. Just so-so. Room was ok not great. Disappointed that it was more like an old motel room than a B&B. Breakfast was not great

Review 10:The location was good

Review 11:Linens seemed to be a bit outdated and worn. Suggest refreshing new linens.

Review 12:Location was exquisite! Extremely tough to beat this locale. Simply splendid.

Review 13:No bad experiences...just a lot of stairs with heavy suitcases. No elevator. Some fabrics in tbe room could be cleaned or replaced, but I'm fussy about stains & spots.

Review 14:Very convenient location to walking around town and a nice walk to the ocean. Staff was very friendly & great recommendation for dinner. Room was clean & comfortable. Good breakfast.

Review 15:Location was great - room was nice - bath needed more places to hang towels and space for personal items. Otherwise a very good spot. We liked Kennebunkport also.

Review 16:We did not have a bad experience except for the knats flying around in the room.

Review 17:We loved our stay right after Labor Day. And it was wonderful to walk to the stores, boutiques, restaurants, etc.

Review 18:Excellent location, a short walk to the centre of town. Breakfast was 'continental' but good. Large room, had a wet room with double shower and double hydro bath.

Review 19:The hotel needs to be upgraded. Bathrooms are clean but quite dated, same for A/C's, carpets, etc. Beds were fine but room was small. While old and in need of an update, the facilities/rooms are adequate and it was priced below other properties in the area. So it was fine as a base to sleep and shower, nothing much of interest at the hotel.

Review 20:Staff was always attentive and willing to help. Hotel is very clean and perfectly located if you want a location close to the town. Walking distance from restaurants, the beach, shops, etc. Beds were comfortable and some rooms can accommodate 4 people on 2 double beds. There is an excellent coffee/pastry shop across the street, we tried breakfast at the hotel once but it was not what I would call a quality breakfast, quite basic and a lot of processed foods.

Review 21:When you stay at Kingsport, you are right in the middle of town happenings, so we parked our car on day 1 and never used it until we checked out. Breakfast was great, the staff friendly and accommodating. Getting on the trolley tour was a quick walk and helped us get to areas we couldn't walk to.

Review 22:No really nice place to be outdoors. Balconies are shared hallways, outdoor seating between two parking lots.

Review 23:Location was good--about halfway between town restaurants and shops and the beach.

Review 24:Never had a bad experience at the King's Port Inn

Review 25:The friendliness, the rooms, the location and the fantastic service and freshly cooked waffles for breakfast. We have been there 9 times and will be there again, for sure !!

Review 26:Shower/toilet area was a little old and needs some TLC. But still very clean.

Review 27:Excellent location! Great breakfast and great customer service. Air conditioning works well which was much needed in August!

Review 28:Rooms were dingy, rugs need cleaning. Hate using a blanket/spread that every other guest has used a million times before....should duvet them and change with each guest!

Review 29:Only stayed one night...would not book again...

Review 30:Room was clean, but a little tired.

Review 31:Very convenient location. On-site parking was very helpful as we were allowed to stay even after check out. Instant walk to town and quick walk to the beach. Staff was really great--friendly and helpful.

Review 32:We were in a room with a jacuzzi room in the Inn and also a standard room in the rear addition. We preferred the standard room. The AC was better and carpet and bedding were better than in the Inn.

Review 33:The location is fantastic! We were able to walk to most shops in Kennebunkport. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

Review 34:Our room was the equivalent of a motel room encased in a nice exterior. Front desk person was frazzled when we arrived and was not friendly. Toilet was in a separate room without a sink. Sink was in alcove of sleeping room. Room decor was a mish-mash.

Review 35:Great location, nice exterior, good breakfast.

Review 36:The hotel is getting old, needs TLC, the carpets are worn and the room is dark and needs redecorating.

Review 37:The staff is very helpful, tried to make us feel welcome and to change our room that we found too dark. They made it so we did not have to change rooms for the extra night. Very nice. We liked the bathroom with separate bathtub and toilet from the rest of the room. Free Wifi. Good breakfast.

Review 38:The location was perfect. We could walk the entire tourist section and end up back at our room. The room was a little dated but nothing about which to complain. Breakfast was good with many choices. The staff was very friendly.

Review 39:Feel the inn needs an overall upgrade-a little tired! Needs New carpeting, bed linens....Breakfast buffet could use more choices, fresh fruit, individual yogurt cups etc... Dining area crowded

Review 40:The location was convenient to everything.

Review 41:Nothing

Review 42:Very good position near the restaurants and shops and not far from the beach. Staff very helpful and a very good breakfast included with made to order waffles.

Review 43:The appearance of the room was tired, and unappealing. Air conditioning worked but turned off and on as I think it was just old. Peeling old wallpaper throughout the room and bathroom .

Review 44:The location was nice and the breakfast was fine

Review 45:Good that Provisions is across the street for early coffee. Nothing til 7:30 at the inn. Ouch.

Review 46:Everyone was helpful and pleasant. So convenient to shops, restaurants. Walking was a pleasure.

Review 47:The room was quite spacious and had a fridge. The Wi-Fi worked very well. There was plenty of restaurants and shops all within walking distance. The breakfast was very good.

Review 48:Fast but brusque check in. Second floor rooms WARNING - NO ELEVATOR. We had two rooms, king and a double queen. Large rooms, but old and in poor repair. Peeling wallpaper, water stained ceiling, broken blinds, cheap mattress and bedding.

Review 49:Fresh made waffles and local coffee along with other standard continental breakfast fare. Great location, walking distance to dining and shopping.

Review 50:Toilet low, and toileting space small in our room. A small handle grip would have been helpful to stand up. Shower didn't have a safety bar.

Review 51:The friendly staff, and the freshly made waffles and breakfast daily. Loved the fresh coffee & tea bar all day long.

Review 52:The locks on the room doors need a little attention.

Review 53:the lay out to the Inn was good. The meal in the A.M. was great, and the hostess was the Best. We would stay here again.

Review 54:Slightly dated in decoration, but still very clean and comfortable

Review 55:Staff, mattress/bed,TV,wifi, easy breakfast, walk into town or beach, easy parking, great price, clean and plenty of towels, large room

Review 56:People above us were quite noisy, however it was after New Years Eve. They kept it going until about 4:00 am

Review 57:Location was very convenient to the shopping area and the room was spacious.

Review 58:bathroom very small

Review 59:Quiet, clean, neat, great breakfast service and people very helpful and pleasent. Always nice time to visit Maine. Best location to Dock Square and shopping. !!!!!

Review 60:There was a short walk to the main building and breakfast: not a problem in good weather.

Review 61:Comfortable, clean room in a great location. The breakfast was much more than we expected, served by friendly, accommodating staff.

Review 62:Lobby & breakfast room locked up tight in the evening. Bedding could use a makeover.

Review 63:Continental breakfast, cozy breakfast room. Located in the heart of Dock Square. Hot beverages available all day.

Review 64:Winter stay required avoiding some black ice in parking lot each evening which was a concern.

Review 65:Steps from shopping & dining. Room was very clean. Able to park right in front of room.

Review 66:Nothing...the whole stay was great.

Review 67:The location of this hotel and the wonderful staff made our return visit to Kennebunkport a real pleasure. We will go back again and when we do...it will be King's Port Inn again.

Review 68:Walls a bit thin if you have noisy neighbors beside or above.

Review 69:Location hard to beat. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Surprisingly quiet considering it's location on a major corner.

Review 70:Had a 1st floor room. We could hear the people staying above us on 2nd floor walking around... Sounded like a heard of elephants. Would definately pick a 2nd floor room if booking again.

Review 71:Great location.

Review 72:There is no facility to make coffee in the room. There was coffee available at reception, but this is not great first thing in the morning. The hotel is located on a busy crossroads so be prepared for some traffic noise. Breakfast can be very crowded.

Review 73:This hotel/motel is located a couple of minutes walk to Kennebunkport town centre and an easy walk to the beach. The rooms are comfortable, if a little shabby. The buffet breakfast is excellent. Great value for money.

Review 74:The smoke alarm was beeping loudly. The battery needed to be replaced. It was a little annoying waiting for the desk clerk to fix the problem. We were late meeting friends for dinner.

Review 75:The check in/ check out process was seamless.

Review 76:Rooms and wallpaper are little dated but adequate to have a good night of sleep.

Review 77:Excellent Customer Services from front desk to kitchen/restaurant staff. We arrived to the hotel late at night when all the restaurants were closed but the wonderful lady at the front desk opened the restaurant for us to use microwave, beverages and silverware (not cheap, plastic one) for late dinner. Excellent location - just a 5 minutes walk to downtown. Will come back to visit the beautiful, small town and will stay at King George's Inn again. Thank you.

Review 78:Bed and pillows were not that comfortable Seemed that plumbing sound / vibrations occurred throughout the night

Review 79:Friendliness of staff Cleanliness of toom

Review 80:We were upgraded to one of the Jacuzzi rooms with 4 poster bed. As well as jacuzzi, the bathroom also had 2 showers and was well equipped. Location was ideal off the main road and a 2 minute walk to Kennebunkport and harbour with many bars and restaurants. Breakfast was adequate. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel

Review 81:Telephone repairmen were at our room upon our arrival and were testing the phone for hours while my husband was trying to take a nap. The building behind our room was getting a new roof and the workers were hammering until 10PM! Also moving around squeaky ladders. Aside from all the noise, I would stay there again.

Review 82:Bed was very comfortable! Breakfast was great!

Review 83:The bed was very uncomfortable and I didn't sleep well. The maid brought us extra pillows which helped a little.

Review 84:Perfect location to downtown . Charming bar/breakfast area and lobby.

Review 85:The quality of the room was poor. Needless-to-say, the room we were in is not posted on the website. There were water stains on the bathroom ceiling, the ceiling tile was cheap and installed incorrectly. The room was very outdated to include a huge (about 8ft high) headboard made of fake leather. So, if you don't mind the decor, this hotel does have a good location.

Review 86:The location in Kennebunkport was great. The breakfast was nicely prepared, too.

Review 87:Friendly staff, great Continental breakfast, walking distance to shopping and dinning in town. Short drive to Portland's Old Port district or a Sea Dogs baseball Game. Close to Arundel Golf Club.

Review 88:No door for the sink area only for the toilet and shower. No view because of outside corridor in our room but this did eliminate noise.

Review 89:Comfortable bed and very quiet. Great location.

Review 90:Needs major update. Decor in rooms and hallways is drab and dated. Lots of old carpet. Windows in our room had broken hardware so we couldn't get them to close fully, as we wanted because the weather was muggy and we were using the AC.

Review 91:Friendly staff. Great location if you like to be central to everything.

Review 92:Central location right in Kennebunkport, walk to the beach, near all the shops but also quiet, clean, and easy. These days its hard to find a reasonably priced accommodation on the southern Maine coast. Would stay here again.

Review 93:Wallpaper pealing in bathroom, water stains on ceiling, towels hadn't been replaced when we checked in, window crank missing room was comfortable but annex building is showing its age.

Review 94:Very close to all the shops and village area

Review 95:Flat screen Tv's could have been a better quality but I'm not complaining

Review 96:Really great free breakfast Can't beat the location Park right in front of your unit

Review 97:The decor was outdated, 70's style and I would have liked to have a coffee machine in the room. That said, if the decor was updated, it would have cost more.... so it's all good.

Review 98:The location was great, everything we wanted was in walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and clean. The morning breakfast, included in the price, got the day off to a great start.

Review 99:We would have liked tea making facilities in the room, but we weren't promised any so cannot really complain, merely a suggestion for improvement.

Review 100:Staff was very friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and super clean. The interior was traditional, bed huge and comfy and there were plenty of toiletries and towels etc. The location was super, right in the centre of Kennebunkport

Review 101:The bed was not very comfortable Would have like more variety with breakfast

Review 102:Great location, very close to the village Staff was very attentive Room was comfortable space wise

Review 103:It is an older building so if you are in a first floor room you may find the floors above a little noisy.

Review 104:Everything: location is great, breakfast is great.

Review 105:There was not a lot of parking which was a problem when their was a function in the lounge. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and there is no sound proofing between rooms you can hear your neighbors talking and walking around. Breakfast was OK there was a sign about homemade waffles being available but there was no staff on hand to make them.

Review 106:Location was great. Walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. The beach is less than a mile walk. The room was clean and there was a mini fridge.

Review 107:Bed was comfortable. Continental breakfast was excellent...good choices. Staff was very friendly. Location couldn't have been more convenient To the heart of Kennebunkport!

Review 108:Minor quibble, would have liked fresh whole fruit at breakfast, not just cut up fruit salad.

Review 109:Very easy walk to main area of Kennebunkport. Good breakfast.

Review 110:One of the hardest beds I've ever slept on. VERY uncomfortable.

Review 111:Location is great. Staff very helpful.

Review 112:Rooms need to be cleaned better including carpets and toilet floor

Review 113:Location is good

Review 114:Location and friendly staff.

Review 115:Right within walking distance of everything. Awesome staff and room.

Review 116:Could use a makeover

Review 117:Convenient location

Review 118:Close to beaches...breakfast

Review 119:Not any luxury but good value.

Review 120:Liked cleanliness, breakfast, cookies (unfortunately they were fabulous) location.

Review 121:Room smelt bad along with bed and bed and pillow very very uncomfortable

Review 122:It was very close to downtown shopping area of kennebunkport

Review 123:Great location in town within easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Very unique and quaint. Enjoyed our stay very much!

Review 124:Need ,more light for reading

Review 125:Location

Review 126:Breakfast would have been better it was good but it was the off season more choices

Review 127:Location was perdition near everything you could walk

Review 128:nothing

Review 129:nearness to downtown and other areas of interest

Review 130:Comfortable spacious room, friendly & helpful staff.

Review 131:Great location!!!!!!

Review 132:Excellent Hotel, great value for money, In the middle of town.
