Reviews for Big Horn Lodge
Review 1:Very nice motel - had a pleasant stay. The restaurant attached to the property served an excellent breakfast for the money. Folks were accommodating with our therapy dog. The Moab Brewery was a 5 minute walk! Definately visit there for great food and suds.
Review 2:A little bit noisy. If I didn't turn on TV, I could hear everything from the next room.
Review 3:Nice and kind staff, and good location(close to restaurant, market, rental shop), clean room. Everything was great.
Review 4:Loud plumbing and thin walls - we got a very loud "Bang" wake-up when our neighbour turned on the shower. Got over it ;)
Review 5:Country pine, woodsy decor - convenient location on main street of Moab but just beyond the busiest centre - walk to restaurants and close to services - grocery, pharmacy, gas. Booked online so check in was fast, desk clerk friendly and helpful with dining suggestions. Room was clean and comfy, 2 queen beds, desk, table, fridge, micro, large tinted window/wall looks onto lovely hillside - a bit pricier than we were used to paying on the trip but convenient for visiting Arches Park. There is an outdoor pool but we did not use it. No breakfast but a 10% coupon for adjacent restaurant.
Review 6:We arrived late they taped our key to the office door. The key didn't work we had to wait for some staff to come all the way from home to unlock the door meanwhile we are sitting in the car freezing for about a half hour didn't finally get in the room till approx 5:30 a.m. and still had to pay full price. No one called and even bother to ask if we were still coming or not
Review 7:I like that it was close to the national park arches
Review 8:No complaints.
Review 9:The room was large and well appointed. Bed was comfortable. Everything was clean. The women that was working at front desk when I checked in was fantastic! She made sure I had every thing I needed and directed me to great Dinner and Breakfast.
Review 10:Our stay at the BIg Horn Lodge was great. We didn't plan on spending much time in our room, except to sleep. We were surprised by the cleanliness. The fridge was bigger than expected and having a microwave was nice. Everything felt clean and the beds were comfortable. Having access to an ice machine was a bonus. Thanks!
Review 11:No bad experiences, however there is a lot of road noise during the late afternoon and evening hours.
Review 12:Convenient location, friendly staff, reasonable prices in the coffee shop.
Review 13:Overall the motel and stay were ok. It just was not worth $139 (+ tax) in our opinion. Perhaps it was just seasonal rates and the price would have gone down in a week or so, which would have made us feel better about the experience.
Review 14:The location was perfect, walkable distance to shops and restaurants. The room was big, clean and comfortable (it actually looks much better than in the pictures).
Review 15:poor bed quality thin walls you hear the neighboor when you ask while you book for a downstairs room and you arrive and you don't have one .........
Review 16:Great little place. Noise wasn't a problem for use, probably because we were part of it (3 and 5 year old). Not 5 - star location but it was a really nice 2 star. Simple, clean and convienant. Grocery store across the street is awesome.
Review 17:Corners of floor in bathroom were not clean at all. Pool was rather small and ended up completely shaded by about 4:00 PM due to its location. Area to walk pet was unlighted, behind building and bordered by weeds and brush, basically no grass available.
Review 18:Most of everything other than what was mentioned in other column. Great location, attractive facility and room, very friendly and helpful staff; very accomodating. Price paid was 1/2 of what most other places charged. Nice big flat screen TV, good Wi-Fi connection, refridgerator and microwave available and working.
Review 19:The bathroom was kind of small and the air conditioner was located right over the sink blowing cold air when you are getting ready for bed and rising in the morning.
Review 20:Price was right. The facility was clean and very stylish. The staff was outstanding.
Review 21:The building is older and floor slopes a little. We were the end room on the top floor. The pool was in the hot sun all day and there were no umbrellas or any shade around the pool or pool area.
Review 22:It was one of the least expensive places to stay in Moab. We liked that it had a microwave and a refridgerator. Our two night stay was very quiet.
Review 23:Staff was indifferent . When I arrived and asked if they had a toothbrush , the girll announced indifferently that they did not. When I brought it up the next morning with the manager she stated that they did have toothbrushes and seemed unconcerned .
Review 24:Room was clean and comfortable
Review 25:Rooms were hot, small and the carpet filthy. No room service had to go to the office if we needed anything. Staff was rude and never cleaned up our room even though we were there for 3 nights. Won't stay here again
Review 26:Discovering stains on the sheets... The room smelled of different cleaners than other hotels typically use.
Review 27:Quaint appearance tucked into gorgeous mountainous surrounding drew our attention. Talking to Manager Barry via phone was pleasant, and there was no conflict given for refund when room conditions were not protocol.
Review 28:No workout room of any kind. On a main street. All rooms face it. If you are sensitive to noise wear earplugs. Breakfast is not included. But attached restaurant has reasonable prices.
Review 29:this hotel had all the conveniences of a hotel room that one would need. I'm a frequent traveler for work and have stayed in a lot of 4&5 star hotels. the room had an above avg, extra big refrigerator, mic, etc. The cooling had only one ac unit on the inside wall which had no thermostatic control. It still kept the room cool enough and there was a fan available that I set up near my bed, as the AC unit did not really cool the far end of the room enough for me to have good sleep. The staff was excellent, both at the front desk and restaurant! This was one of the lowest priced hotels available on an upcoming holiday weekend. The value was good.
Review 30:The parking lot is too small, and there is no elevator.
Review 31:The rooms are pleasantly furnished and clean but a little dark. Convenient location on main street.
Review 32:I think the property is way spendy in comparison to other hotels in this route. I am sure it is spendy because it can be...tourists abound in Moab looking for a place to stay with Canyonlands and Arches near by. Moab is a gateway to these areas and easy to attract folks no matter what and attach the $ to a room.
Review 33:Easy to find. Check in woman was a bit confusing. The room was clean and sufficient--no extras here. There is no breakfast with the hotel but you get a 10% coupon for the Grille next door.
Review 34:Wait. There was a breakfast?!
Review 35:Stopped here on our way from Boise to Durango. Great proximity to Moab and walking distance to Moab brewery. Clean and comfy, plus a great deal for the area.
Review 36:Arriving late there wasn't much left for parking. But we found a spot so all turned out good!
Review 37:We arrived late in the evening and got probably the last room.. No worries though it was comfortable and quiet which is all we wanted in our one night stay..
Review 38:Pool is tiny. Not at all what it looks like I'm the picture, but we didn't use it at all.
Review 39:Staff was friendly and room was clean. Moab was adorable. Pleanty of reastaurants and shopping in walking distane,
Review 40:bathrooms are real small but that didn't bother us
Review 41:clean and comfortable very well kept up the rooms had old time charm the outside looked modern everything worked like it should
Review 42:You still need a hot tub that's all.
Review 43:Staff listened to my request and accommodated,I stay here every year and it's a great value in a great location and I can bring my dog.
Review 44:The room was extremely loud. We were on the ground floor and could hear everything the people upstairs did. Also could hear every vehicle that drove by outside on the main road. Seems as if there is zero sound insulation. Would not recommend this place - staying in a cabin at the KOA would have been better.
Review 45:The WIFI was very weak. Our room was in back of outdoor stairs, so kids were running up and down right outside of our floor to ceiling windows. No view whatsoever. The toilet was so low it was hard to stand up after using (and I am 5'2), yet the sink was so high it was almost unusable. If you get a room here, make sure it is upstairs as you can hear every footstep of the room above you.
Review 46:The room was spacious and clean.
Review 47:The rooms were very noisy because of the busy highway. The pool was only moderately warm. Pricing is pretty high.
Review 48:The motel is located at the main highway through moab, allowing to arrive and leave without searching. Beds and room are comfortable.
Review 49:This is a lodge type (paneled walls/Old West decor) room. It was very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. It had a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. If you are a cyclist, they have rags for cleaning your bikes and sheets available so that you can store the bike in the room. A grocery store is across the street. You can walk to downtown. We stayed for two nights and I could have stayed much longer.
Review 50:There were only a few things I didn't like about my room that was the road noise I could hear pretty much everything and it was very dark and outdated.
Review 51:The hotel is in a great location and the restaurant that is close to the check in desk is awesome!! Beds are comfy.
Review 52:Spotty wifi, dark rooms, windows don't open, traffic (people and cars) passing right outside your door and window-- no privacy, too much noise.
Review 53:Microwave, fridge, and good coffee maker are a plus.
Review 54:The bathroom was extremely small. It was difficult to close the door, because of the lack of space.
Review 55:I liked the size of the bedroom. I also liked the two large mirrors with excellent lighting. They allowed all of us to put our make up on.
Review 56:Toilet flush box ran briefly every so often. Didn't bother us much, but we mentioned it to the front desk upon checkout. Parking lot was cramped, but we were able to find adequate parking.
Review 57:Bed was comfortable, and microwave & fridge in room were nice. This was a great location to visit Arches National Park.
Review 58:Bed wasn't the most comfy but I was able to get some restful sleep.
Review 59:Great location and price. Nice clean room and good hot shower. Nice TV's and close free parking.
Review 60:Location of hotel was right on the main drag, lots of traffic all day and night long, was pretty noisy. No hot tub on premises had to go across the street to another hotel to use theirs, difficult to cross such a busy street.
Review 61:Motel on the main road so easy walking distance to downtown and restaurants etc. First time in Moab, Utah and I loved it! Very cool little town, lots of restaurants to choose from, lots of things to do. Went to 2 national parks, Arches & Canyonlands they were incredible. Went mountain biking a couple of times and had a blast. Ran the Canyonlands Half Marathon and it was a great race!
Review 62:Shocked that no breakfast ,which is so common in today's world, wasserved. We were awakened by tv in next room. We ended up turning on tv(because news was disastrous) and muted our tv and could hear everysingle word from tv in next room
Review 63:Comfortable, character, modern tv, free wifi, great staff, clean room
Review 64:It was a bit noisy, it being on Main Street and all, but hey, it's Moab! Parking was a challenge if you were pulling a trailer. The parking lot was packed!
Review 65:The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and cozy comfortable. Shower was awesome after a long day of riding our side by side! The restaurant on site has good food. We will definitely stay there again!
Review 66:The parking area outside could be cleaner - as some guests bring dogs, they should be asked to clean up after their dogs.
Review 67:The room was set up well, with comfortable beds, everything was clean. There was a separate area with fridge, coffee pot, etc., as well as a microwave. This was helpful as we could bring back leftovers and eat it later.
Review 68:The Lodge is located off the main highway so traffic can be loud. The facility is about 5 blocks (10 minutes walk) from central services in downtown Moab.
Review 69:The staff at Big Horn Lodge were friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the price was economical.
Review 70:Located on the main street there was some road noise but not enough to disturb.
Review 71:The location was first class, close to many eating places and other amenities. The room was excellent value for money and staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. WiFi good. An excellent choice. Recommended.
Review 72:This is a very nice hotel accommodation for the price. It was easy to find and located close enough to other stores and restaurants and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Since we like to travel with food, the small refrigerator came in handy. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to stay while visiting the area.
Review 73:Walls are thin, so we hear the neighbors... Doing ''Things''...
Review 74:Nice room with nice wood pannels walls and high ceilings. A little ''Cowboy cabin'' style, a nice touch. Good working A C and heating and a perfectly clean room. Next to restaurants, no need to take car for diner. Did not try pool or restaurant of the hotel.
Review 75:Absolutely beautiful location and views. Staff was very friendly. We brought our Jeep and rode the area trails, very easy access from this location. We simply couldn't stay for just one night, so we booked another. Wow, what an experience. We'll be back to Moab, and we plan to stay here again!
Review 76:Having to have curtains closed whole time as whole room totally exposed to outside. This, plus very dark furnishings and linen made room very gloomy and was compounded by poor internal lighting.
Review 77:Easy to book. Lots of parking. Central location.
Review 78:Located on the Main Street, there were noisy trucks going past until the small hours of the morning but ear plugs did the job!
Review 79:Well located, within easy reach of the both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Also restaurants and shops were within a short walk. Really loved Moab - quirky shops and friendly people. Hotel (motel) had everything we needed.
Review 80:For a medium sized motel, we could not have been more pleased!!
Review 81:Very pleasant facility with helpful staff. The room maintenance staff are keepers - friendly, honest, knowledgeable and helpful.
Review 82:the room was dirty the toilet ran all night I can go on and on.the tub drain had a hard time keeping it open.the lighting in the room was probably the worst in 50 years are staying in motel rooms
Review 83:Very noisy. You could hear TV sounds from the next room. You could also hear people moving around in the upstairs room as well as the running water from showers and toilet use. I would have to be very tired and this would have to be the only place in town with a room before I would stay there again.
Review 84:Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Review 85:We have always stayed at another hotel in Moab, thought they were booked. This one is well located, clean and comfortable. We would recommend Big Horn to others.
Review 86:There was not enough parking. There were a lot of big pick up trucks with trailers. One evening we came back around 7:30 pm and all parking spaces were full. We had to park in front of the restaurant, but were told by management that we may get a call from the management of the restaurant to move our car. We kept checking the parking lot until a space became available.
Review 87:I liked the fact that there was a good restaurant connected to the lodge although management was different. We were relatively close to the small shops and restaurants although a bit closer would have been better as my husband does not like to walk. We were close to a good grocery store though and a good Laundromat.
Review 88:Parking was very inconvenient, the time we spent there, the other guess' had their off road vehicles off loaded and park all over the place. Their other vehicles and trailers took up all the other spaces. One night I had to park my car across the street in a closed business lot.
Review 89:The floor in our room seemed slanted. There was no blow dryer in the room. The pillows were flat. The bathroom was tiny, the part with the toilet and the shower.
Review 90:The receptionist was wonderful. Bubbly and friendly. The room was clean. Beds comfy. Location was wonderful. We could walk to the City Market for groceries, walk to the Moab Brewery for a fabulous dinner. It's located right next to the Moab Grill which had a great breakfast at a great price.
Review 91:Rooms had odd smell; were so dark you couldn't see to read or do makeup; plugs for recharging were in bathroom; cancelation was 48 hours ahead of stay; bathrooms were small, dark and dirty. Noisy crowd at all hours. We were extremely unhappy with this facility. They also had no laundry facility.
Review 92:Nothing!
Review 93:The resturant next door that had some connection was not a good place to eat .
Review 94:The interior atmosphere was complimentary to the location . Quite and comfortable . Will come again in the area .
Review 95:Cleaning staff knocking on door twice although we had the 'do not disturb' sign hanging outside. I know they want to finish up, but we arrived late and wanted to use the room to the allotted check out time. Not the cheapest place, but Moab is popular in September.
Review 96:Roomy, comfortable, air con was on before we arrived so comfortable immediately. Would have scored more highly, but we hate being disturbed by cleaners before we leave by checkout.
Review 97:No breakfast. Old-fashioned bedding. Some noise from the street.
Review 98:The location was right downtown. The room was clean and neat. It appeared that maintenance was generally pretty good. Front desk was helpful and friendly.
Review 99:We requested a top floor but it was not honored. They banned smoking in the room but allowed it outside as in immediately outside.
Review 100:Rustic decor and western charm were interesting. Located on a main route in walking distance of restaurants and shops. Easy access to Arches NP and other attractions.
Review 101:Where to begin.....weird wall between parking lot and rooms. Poorly lit SMALL room. SMALL bathroom. Vanity very high and deeper than normal. Would be a problem for a shorter guest or child. Due to the vanity and poor lighting, it would be very difficult for a female guest to properly apply make-up. Dark, dimly lit and just a generally uninviting room. Oh, did I mention small, small, small...
Review 102:Location
Review 103:Room quite small, especially bathroom! Wifi very patchy. No breakfast.
Review 104:Location was fine. Easy walk into 'downtown'. Room quite comfy & relatively clean.
Review 105:We had to go across the street of wash clothes but that was a slight inconvenience. I would recommend wearing socks/slippers/shoes while in the room since the area sand/soil seems impossible to get the carpet 100% clean - but again - a minor problem
Review 106:The price, condition of room, location of motel within the city of Moab and its adjoining restaurant.
Review 107:The responsible Manager did not deal right with the big Problem on my Partners Skin and Body Problem after that - she refund the night but nothing else -no compensation or paying for doctor bill or Treatment and some lost Holidays after that. We called the Police who could not help - we should take a lawyer
Review 108:Parking only issue but not bad just cramped
Review 109:The staff was amazing. Rooms comfortable and clean. Not high end place but very enjoyable. Amenities good as we'll. staff makes place one I would return to - I am female traveling w two small kids and felt very safe and cared for here!
Review 110:wasn't aware of what was around us so ended up eating at the restaurant next door recommended by big horn lodge. restaurant was very crowded and busy and food was cold.
Review 111:two queen beds. fridge and kitchen area. parking space.
Review 112:You had to sleep with the drapes drawn because the sun would blast into the room in the morning, it was really hot while we were there.
Review 113:There is actually counter space above the fridge next to the sink! Also, the AC was set back (in the sink alcove) from the beds so it didn't blow right over you. The room even had a small table in it. The window tinting was a nice plus. Even my 20-something kids thought it was a nice room.
Review 114:A/C was in the Vanity area which had a door header that decreased the ability of the until to move air throughout the room. It also created a issue being too cool coming out of the shower and using the vanity. Nice wood interior, but very dark, need to provid a couple more lamps. Only one ice machine for the facility. As busloads of people were there, often found the ice machine having to catch up.
Review 115:Beds were comfortable.
Review 116:Only one thing. The place where you put your suitcase is not well lit.
Review 117:We picked this hotel because it was pet friendly. We had just adopted a new dog and were not sure of just how house trained she is. So I was super pleased to find out that the pet friendly room are tiled and not carpeted. Awesome! The rooms are clean and comfortable. They even include rags to clean any kind of outdoor gear that you might bring to Moab!
Review 118:Air conditioning unit in bathroom was not effective in bedroom. Could not cool off bedroom. Bathroom was tiny-poor quality shower. Overall experience was poor. Pool water was salty.
Review 119:No window in the room - is this actually legal? Seems ridiculous when the room I was given was on the end of the building, with the length of the room to allow even a small window.
Review 120:All the facilities were good, clean and comfortable.
Review 121:Obviously from my review title, we liked the location. The room was comfortable: microwave, fridge, coffee maker all put to good use. Staff friendly and accomodating. Liked the knotty pine interior. Added a Western ambiance. We had a great time exploring the near-by National Parks. The frosting on the cake was the price!
Review 122:wi-fi was bit slow, but good coverage the windows opened on to the balcony which meant you couldn't open the curtains without lots of people walking past - only a very minor nuisance
Review 123:Moab is a great stop for all the parks around, loads to do Staff were very helpful, including letting me get parcels ordered there for collection Right by a laundry and good supermarket
Review 124:Very expensive, not even breakfast is included. Charged me before arrival and didn't give me any explanation. It wasn't a nice attitude.
Review 125:Good and clean facilities.
Review 126:rooms were smaller than they appear in promotion photos
Review 127:great service
Review 128:We always enjoy staying at the Bighorn. It's clean, comfortable, quiet and very reasonably priced.
Review 129:The room was clean, comfortable and safe. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Review 130:It was conveniently located in Moab and everything was great. I will go back and tell others about it.
