Reviews for Aksarben Suites Omaha

Review 1:We had a family gathering and wanted adjoining rooms. We specifically called ahead to arrange that and didn't get it. There were empty rooms all around us. Big mix-up in billing the rooms, so watch your statements. Police were there on a couple occasions. People next to one family member partied past 3:00am, 3 complaints to front desk before anything was done.

Review 2:Liked the way the room was laid out.

Review 3:The shower had mold in the cracks of the walls and the breakfast is less than what a person gets at a lesser motel for cheaper rates.

Review 4:The atrium is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable.

Review 5:Traditional amenities weren't available in the room kitchen (no silverware, dishes, dish soap). Did not have time to eat at the hotel.

Review 6:The location was near family I was visiting. Good area near the parking lot to walk the dog. The elevator was great for luggage and dog.

Review 7:Pool was loud & crazy, but that was due to teenagers not the hotel

Review 8:Bedroom was separated from the hall door by sitting room, buffered sound of noisy guests in hallways

Review 9:The bathroom had molded ceiling tiles. The cabinets and top of the refrigerator had not been cleaned in long time

Review 10:The room size was fantastic, close to interstate. Staff was fantastic.

Review 11:Asked for more pillows, I was told no. My daughter stepped on a nail. The toilet ran all night. There were holes in the cups we were given, got everything wet. The room smelled like smoke, I was told it was nonsmoking. One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at.

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:Couch looked really old in each room... Need new ones.

Review 14:Very Nice hotel but we had to change rooms... First room they were in the middle of painting it .. The second room the fridge was being defrosted and water everywhere... The third room had a really old fridge and needed defrosting... Finally 4 th room was good! Very quiet stay which was nice... Beautiful inside courtyard and very quiet elevator with glass walls... Overall good stay...nice to not hear ppl stomping upstairs. Love the ambience!!! The fridge was important because I had medication that had to be refrigerated and it had ice packs that had to be frozen for travel the next day... My meds had to stay cold!

Review 15:Did not eat breakfast because it was way too expensive and cheaper to eat at a restaurant. Our bed sheets had stuff stained on it. And the bed wasn't that comfortable.

Review 16:it was near a main road which was nice. And the rooms were big and the atmosphere in the lobby was nice.

Review 17:When I booked this hotel, it stated I would have free breakfast for every morning. When I arrived at the hotel, they only gave me a free breakfast for one day. Also, the staff seemed more interested chatting than assisting customers. We asked for a cart to assist with carrying luggage and no one assisted or followed up with us. Staff stared as we struggled to open the door with arms full of luggage.

Review 18:The breakfast hostess was very friendly. The suite was large enough for us and was great for the price.

Review 19:The 11-7 pm shift showed he was racist!! And the pool and hot tub had plenty of very young children unsupervised!! It made it hard to enjoy with young children!

Review 20:The staff up until the 11-7 pm was amazing!! They did an excellent job!! The rooms were decent!!

Review 21:no towels, no soap or shampoo. They left used soap in the shower and bathroom sink. No coffee was left for the coffee pot.

Review 22:Good size pool. Comfortable beds.

Review 23:I didn't like the fact the water fall in the pool didn't work the hot tube was not that hot and the balcony was not separated which made me really uncomfortable and the construction was annoying as well it just was not what I was expecting

Review 24:It was a great suit

Review 25:Internet connection unreliable.

Review 26:The hotel's interior was stunning and beautiful. The room was very nice for the price (esp. since it had a kitchen) and there was an exercise room and laundry. Staff were helpful and responsive.

Review 27:There was renovations being done on the hotel. While I understandupkeep needs to be done, there should have been notification before webooked or paid for our room. They didn't tell us until after wepaid and got our keys. The door keys had issues getting in the outsidedoor and our room.

Review 28:The divided living room area from the bedroom area. It also had a doorto shut so you wouldn't disturb the people sleeping if you are inthe other room with the lights / tv on. There is a full sizerefrigerator, microwave and sink in the "kitchen" area off theliving room. Very convenient.

Review 29:Out of shampoo, soap, and conditioner Side entrance did not work Phone did not work Rust coming out of the vent Employee asked us to do small tasks part of their job description as they talked on their cell phone. Not enough parking for all guests.

Review 30:Big room. Bed was okay. Generally, the room was clean and well kept.

Review 31:Went for a staycation with my wife, we actually live in town. Found giant trash bags in our room left from maid service, AC didn't work, bed was horrible. We had had enough of not being able to sleep we so left a 3:45am in the morning to go drive home and sleep at our own home instead. Awful!

Review 32:We were 2 rooms down from the laundry facilities. We had to walk by it and it was dirty the entire time we were there.Trash on the floor, etc...

Review 33:Comfortable room.

Review 34:When we arrived a lady was very unhappily checking out early due to thecondition of her room. That should have been our warning!! Our room hadno air conditioning. When we mentioned the problem to front desk we weretold someone would be right up to look at it....he brought us a box fan.A filthy disgusting box fan. The room was filthy. Air vents were cakedwith grime and rust. The previous guests clothes were still hanging onthe shower. A glass that was there when we arrived sat outside the dooron the floor awaiting pick up by house keeping for the entirety of ourstay. We booked a room w two queen beds as there were 3 occupants, wereceived a room w one bed and a pull out couch. We called for anotherfan as we had to try to cool two rooms to sleep, we were told therewould be a $10 charge for a 2nd fan. We disputed this "charge"& was then told he was just kidding. The staff on several occasionstold us the new owners of the property did not care and were not fixingthings that needed attn and that at least 20 guests were currentlycomplaining about the lack of ac. It is obvious. One man switched roomstwice bec his first room had no ac and again because the room flooded. Ivisited once when it was still a Double Tree and it was a very niceplace. Now it is in deplorable conditions.

Review 35:The staff is very friendly. They try very hard to compensate forthe management and owners obvious lack of interest in the property. The courtyard is beautiful. Breakfast was great! Hot. Fresh. And anice variety.

Review 36:Overcrowded pool, lack of air conditioning dependability and mundane breakfast

Review 37:Family oriented with facility accomodating resident and /or visitors

Review 38:We had to switch rooms (to a smaller room) due to locks not working. The continued to not work all the time, had a lot of trouble with locks on pool, our room and side doors. It was rather warm in our room, had to ask for a fan. We were there from Friday to Sunday and had to ask multiple times for a shower curtain and never got one. The door to our room stuck, very hard to open and close.

Review 39:The price was reasonable and the staff was friendly.

Review 40:We had a horrible smell coming from the air conditioning that wasn't even working. Had to leave b4 the 2nd night due to headache and burning eyes.

Review 41:The inside was great. Very nice and clean

Review 42:Although the hotel needs a make-over it was clean, affordable and the staff was excellent. It must have been very posh in it's day! A beautiful place.

Review 43:I wish that the hot tub was working

Review 44:I liked that the breakfast was included with the stay and the room was very nice and had a lot of space plus the price was affordable very pleased keep breakfast it was great free with room

Review 45:Only thing I didn't like was the room key wouldn't let us in it took forever to get inside

Review 46:The room was very nice and beautiful everything was nearby far as shopping

Review 47:Lets begin with I requested and was granted an early check in so I could take a nap after driving 8 hours. I get there at 1130 AM. Checked in at 2. I pay for my room and was given a notification from the clerk that there was construction (which was in the room next to mine, I figured this out two minutes after I lay down) I was charged for the room twice due to an inexperienced clerk. I turned the tv on to try and relax and it was out of service. I have never been so disappointed with a hotel stay.

Review 48:It was clean and comfortable.

Review 49:when you are on a leisure stay, sleeping in is a luxury therefore it would be nice if breakfast was later than 9:00....11:00 , esp when not competing with an on site restaurant

Review 50:having the sitting area separate from bedroom, having a balcony, the overall atmosphere

Review 51:when we arrived our room was very hot and the air conditioner did not work, and while they did change our room it took several hours to do so. there was a roach at breakfast, the floor was so sticky i thought i would loose a flip flop and construction noises began at 830 am.,

Review 52:the staff was very nice and it was close to most of the things we wanted to do.

Review 53:If you stay here in the summer don't stay on the top floor. It was crazy hot up there, we called down to have a technician come up and see why our Ac was blowing warm air and when she got up there she had two fans in hand. That was a saving grace, but I'm not paying $100 for box fans. We requested a new room on the lower level and luckily they had an opening. WAY cooler down stairs..but it makes sense the place is a giant dome.. it looks cool, but they are going to have to figure out a better Ac situation or give out discounts for the upper level rooms. That's really my only complaint everything else was great. I would stay there again,

Review 54:I really liked the layout of the hotel. The rooms are super roomy and accommodating. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean.

Review 55:not a 100$ a night suit. Very out dated furniture and appliances. Breakfast included at a very short window of time...6-9am. Way to early till way too early.

Review 56:The location for me was great. An omaha native. Centered near evwrywhere i was going

Review 57:When we checked in we had a clogged toilet and had to call the front desk twice and no one came. Went to the desk and they handed me a plunger to fix it myself at 11 pm. saying they don't do that stuff. The air conditioning was very weak as well.

Review 58:The atrium area was neat and the location was good.

Review 59:old doubletree hotel, may have gone to far, but they were renovating. electronic locks didn't work well, couldn't lock room, no chain lock, ice machine on 3rd and 5th floor. $9 extra charge for breakfast.

Review 60:Elevator not working. Only one luggage cart available. One exit door inoperative. Could be a fire hazard because the magnetic latch refuses to release when using the room card key.

Review 61:Suite is roomy

Review 62:When I got to my room I was expecting just a regular double bed room, I was so surprised when I open the door and it was an actual suite, with a living room with sofa bed and tv, kitchenette with a full size fridge and bedroom with double beds and tv, it was really nice...I will definitely staying here when I come back to Omaha. The zoo and the casinos just minutes away. GREAT PRICE!!!

Review 63:Hotel's pictures on web looked very nice, but it was very rundown. I was extremely disappointed.

Review 64:My kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. This was the most pleasant area of the hotel.

Review 65:Out hotel room, and the entire hotel, was pretty muggy. There wasn't much the staff could do about it either... Wish they could have had fans for the rooms or something because it was hard to sleep in such a hot room.

Review 66:Everything about the hotel was great. Big room, big bed. The staff was nice and the breakfast was great. All around a nice hotel.

Review 67:We got in late at midnight with our baby and 5 year old intending to sleep in. Instead the hotel had someone power washing the wall on the balcony right outside our window at 730! When I called to complain they said that the painters were supposed to start at 800 and needed to get it done. No offer of any compensation occurred. I don't know why they didn't just keep the rooms empty near the painting. Also we had to park pretty far away from our room, on the other end of the lot. It was a long walk carrying two sleepy children and two heavy suit cases.

Review 68:The rooms were nice with two separate spaces a living room area, sink, large refrigerator, and bedroom. The indoor court yard was pretty.

Review 69:A/C didn't work well, water didn't drain from the tub.

Review 70:Not much, the hotel is under renovation. I would not even consider staying again, until it is completed.

Review 71:Room was very clean with a separate living room area, full size refrigerator in the kitchenette and a large bedroom with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was tiny with sink, toilet & shower all in same room, so only one of us could be in the bathroom at the same time. This was such a small matter, considering the comfort of the rest of the lodgings.

Review 72:The strength of the Wi-Fi was terrible. I don't know if it was just this visit but this is the only time it was this way when I have stayed. I had absolutely NO connectivity in my room and it was a little inconvenient.

Review 73:I have been staying at this hotel for the last 7 years when I come to Omaha a couple of times a year for work. It is right behind my work, it is clean and I love the courtyard. The rooms are nice and the staff was always professional. This is the first time that I have stayed here since it is no longer a Doubletree but the service was the same except for the cookie. (kinda missed the cookie)

Review 74:The overall appearance of the hotel was very nice, cheerful, and the plants were very pretty. Certain public areas could have been cleaner i.e. the floors, carpet.

Review 75:We were traveling with a couple of our children and seven grandchildren. Everyone was unanimous in their praise for the facility. It was our nicest stay during our entire vacation.

Review 76:There was a large amount of ink on the arm of the sofa where someone had scribbled.

Review 77:The beds are extremely comfortable . The facilities in general are very pleasant.

Review 78:No wi-fi in the rooms--only in the public areas. I wish it was in the rooms too! Poor cellphone reception inside as well.

Review 79:It was a great place to stay for the price. The kids loved the pool and atmosphere. Breakfast was great.

Review 80:Didn't like that you could go on the balcony and walk to pretty much any room and open the slider. The ac didn't work in our room very well and there were kids in the pool long after it was adult time.

Review 81:The lobby was nice. Room was nice too

Review 82:When we check in at 8pm, there was a giant bag of trash and a giant pile of bedding/towels outside our room door. It was there all night until the next morning after 9am. We were also in room 224 which must have been over the mechanical room as something cycled very noisily about every 15 -30 seconds. It was so loud the floor vibrated. Good think I brought our white noise machines along. The hotel is kind of tired and ready for a refresh. Most of the lights were missing from the pool ceiling, the vents were coated with rust and dirt. Our room was ok and clean but it did smell like stale smoke or something.

Review 83:The kids loved the pool even though it was cold. They also liked the hot tub which was more like a cool bath. They loved the look of the hotel and breakfast was nice.

Review 84:We did not like the double beds, wish they had at least queen beds. Having teens, doubles are too small when sharing a bed. I know things get missed periodically, but I did not like that my bathroom was not clean. There were water spots all over the mirror, hair on the ledge of the bathtub, and makeup on the faucet from the last person/people that stayed. Also there was a lot of dust on the vent in the bathroom. It's not that high so I don't think it would take a whole lot of time to wipe it down daily.

Review 85:We enjoyed the look of this hotel, loved all the trees and plants, loved the open feel. The whole family loved the pool and hot tub. The room was nice and roomy and breakfast was great.

Review 86:The staff did not control the kids running around all night. The pool is too small for the amount of rooms they have.

Review 87:Breakfast & having a bedroom in the back.

Review 88:Card key was not working, even after help. Sofa sleeper was not working properly and looked broken, carpet was dirty, hot tub not working by pool.

Review 89:I liked the breakfast and pet availability. Monday reception was nice as well as the fitness center.

Review 90:The carpeting and some furnishings need to be replaced. There was an odd whining noise in the bedroom that was loud enough to be distracting. Air conditioning hard to control. Not great soundproofing.

Review 91:Lots of space for the price. The courtyard atrium was very nice and comfortable to hang out in. Lots of big plants and light. Breakfast was good.

Review 92:Could use more mirrors, rooms have older quality furnishings that will probably be upgraded over time.

Review 93:It's a converted suite hotel, so you can store food in a large refrigerator, has a kitchen sink & microwave. Good separation between living area and bedroom.

Review 94:Could have been cleaner but in all wasn't horrible just overlooked

Review 95:Hotel itself was cool looking. Rooms were good size with a large sitting area and kitchenette. The view into the hotel from the room was almost tropical.

Review 96:I didn't like the over powering smell of chemicals from the pool on the first floor. My wife is allergic.

Review 97:I really liked the customer service. I really enjoyed the breakfast. The rooms were very large for the price with a full kitchen. The rooms were very clean. Our room was quiet.

Review 98:Only thing I didn't like was the fact the play pen we were promised was given away to another guest.

Review 99:The breakfast and the beautiful, clean rooms were the best part. GREAT food!

Review 100:Valet parking only

Review 101:Great upscale accommodations for a great price. The location was close enough to the action, but enough distance for some breathing room.

Review 102:When I booked this hotel I only had two requests. The first was for acrib or pack and play, which I never received, even after confirming onthe phone that they had them available 3 weeks ahead of time. The secondwas that we be put on an upper floor away from the pool area. We wereput on the second floor right next to the pool and right next to the airconditioner units, and right above the room with the pool pumps. It wasso loud from the air conditioners, people in the pool, people in theparking lot, and people yelling on the balcony that my husband and I got0 sleep that night and our toddler didn't fall asleep until aftermidnight (in the bed with us, because we never received the crib). Notfun after 13 hours in the car and through 3 states with those two. Therewas no way to change rooms because they were fully booked. The next thing was likely Booking.com's fault, but we were charged for two days in the room. I had originally booked for a Saturday-Sunday, then changed in to Friday Saturday on Booking.com. The hotels computers aren't synced up to them and the person at the desk that had to figure out how to fix it and reverse the charge for the second day blamed it on the fact that I had booked through a 3rd party site. It was eventually figured out, although it's going to take at least a couple of weeks to get my money back. Our sheets had little tears on them and there were sesame seeds in the bed, which leads me to believe they aren't changed between guests. The bartender had left work early for whatever reason and they never bothered to open the bar. I noticed lots of upset people over that one. This was part of why I booked this hotel to begin with. There were bags of garbage and a plate outside of our door when we checked in, and they were still there when we checked out the next day.

Review 103:The size of the rooms. Sadly to say, the friendliest employees in theplace are the breakfast attendants! They (the breakfast attendants) werevery helpful all morning! The beds are comfortable. The pool looked ok, although we didn't use it because it was so full of people (the hotel was fully booked) The fitness room was nice.

Review 104:the bathroom was really small, not sure if they are all the same size..but the bathroom in our room was very small

Review 105:we liked the large suite especially with more people in the room. liked that there was a small kitchen area

Review 106:I was a bit put off by the age of the furniture. The sheets were clean, but had holes in them. The bedskirt was the wrong size for the bed. I feel more attention should be paid to details, and the furnishings should be replaced.

Review 107:I liked the layout of the room, the breakfast was great, the pool and hot tub were absolutely great. The atrium was really pretty and relaxing.

Review 108:I didn't like that our room had two full sized beds as opposed to two queens.

Review 109:The rooms were perfect for us - traveling as several Families. The pool was great, a little crowded, but not bad.

Review 110:The courtyard, the suite, the staff, the breakfast. All good. My friend used the pool. The pool stayed open until midnight. That was good too, as we did not arrive until after 9 p.m. and her back was aching.

Review 111:I booked online for what was advertised as a 2 bedroom suite. It turned out there were no 2 bedroom suites in this hotel. Front desk staff looked at me like I was crazy and wanted to charge me for a second room. I escalated the issue to management and he handled it very professionally by providing me a second room at no charge.

Review 112:I thought the property provided great value. The location was convenient as well.

Review 113:I did not like how small the queen beds were it was maybe the size of a "full" size bed. I think they're called a California queen bed. The couch in our room was ripped which made it look old and over used and the breakfast wasn't the greatest. My husband got sick because of how greasy the food was.

Review 114:I liked the size of the rooms and the hotel itself was very neat. I appreciated that they had a pool and allow pets!

Review 115:It was busy enough that parking could have become an issue.

Review 116:The bed was perfect and the layout, the architecture, and the ambience were unique and very nicely done. I would return to the Aksarben Suites.

Review 117:The breakfast in my openion were very bland and dissapointing. The sausage had no flavor. the potatos were too dry...Coffee was great. I don't mean to be ugly about this but giving me a voucher to McDonalds would have been much more satasfying...(and I am not a real fan of McDonalds)

Review 118:having a nice big room with a couch and chairs. to relax in

Review 119:The pool was very crowded. The balconies all connected to one another forming an outside walkway. This allowed kids to be running past our room.

Review 120:Breakfast was awesome. The atrium was great; open, lots of natural light and tons of foliage. The rooms were comfortable, clean and a great value. Location was perfect; just a few minutes from everything we wanted to see. The early check in and late check out were very convenient. Parking was plentiful and close.

Review 121:Stair ways need to be cleaned drastically ,

Review 122:Love the inside all the green around beautiful

Review 123:Room was huge, comfy bed.

Review 124:The lobby was beautiful, the bar convenient and friendly. The room was cozy and clean with a small kitchenette and sitting room. We will be back!

Review 125:The decor was dated and there was rust on the air vent covers.

Review 126:It was conveniently located.

Review 127:The bathroom was kind of small for how many people we had

Review 128:I loved the set up of the hotel

Review 129:It was fine...no complaints!

Review 130:The location was for me ideal.

Review 131:I've stayed here multiple times and never any type of discount for repeat customers...why not???

Review 132:Breakfast staff One of two elevators didn't work all the time we were there.

Review 133:Ambiance Uniquely set rooms Desk staff

Review 134:Quiet and clean rooms. Staff was very friendly.

Review 135:Suite room was very comfortable for an extended stay.

Review 136:pillow cases had stains (looked like blood), and shower curtain had brown stains on it

Review 137:loved the room setting, suite, the staff
