Reviews for Red Cliffs Lodge

Review 1:To have to drive 1/2 hours to go to a restaurant

Review 2:This hotel is in a very nice place. The rooms are really big, confortable and clean. I eat the best breakfast of my 2 weeks travel.

Review 3:I wish the restaurant could have been open for dinner- especially for coffee, a snack, or late dinner. We were there for four nights off-season (over New Years Eve) so it was closed after breakfast). We had very little ATT phone service, so I had to keep logged in to the wifi and use text. The bandwidth could have been stronger - I was unable to text photos, and I wasn't always able to receive texts.

Review 4:The location of this hotel is amazing! Even the 14 mile drive to town in the snow was not an issue because we were in awe of the scenery the entire time. Folks are friendly, helpful, and would have loved to stay longer. Breakfast was so delicious and a good value. The restaurant view is exceptional.

Review 5:Distance into town especially on snow covered road. Would like if at least much was served off season.

Review 6:Rooms are very homey with awesome views. Very good breakfasts.

Review 7:Only minor negative experience was that the beds didn't have quite enough covers for 5-10 degree nights. The heaters were noisy, so I just asked for some more quilts. They fixed it right away. Also, the location is beautiful but a little far from Moab. Still worth it though!

Review 8:Really nice staff that went out of their way to make my stay terrific. Beautiful location, property, and room. Great breakfast and dinner!

Review 9:Front desk staff seemed a little disorganized, but that didn't bother us too much.

Review 10:Everything! Perfect location, great value, and very romantic. We will certainly be back.

Review 11:Nothing.

Review 12:We loved the setting, the facilities, the restaurant, and the service. All outstanding, and have us already trying to decide how soon we can get back.

Review 13:We look forward to experiencing the handsome restaurant when it is in full swing!

Review 14:The unique experience this lodge has to offer creates a very memorable experience. The movie museum is amazing and the variety of things to do is only prompting another visit as soon as it warms up. We came during the cold and snow of the winter and saw the gorgeous red rocks covered with the perfect artistic and photographic scattering of snow. Hiking was great and we actually found that we had to peel off our coat once we really got going, so no one should ignore the winter as a very beautiful time to visit. Another upside is that there are no crowds, so you can enjoy your personal space with more peace and quiet than during the busy season (at least until others discover this ;-)

Review 15:Nothing!!!

Review 16:Everything!!! Awesome place to stay. Rooms are amazing. Property and scenery is amazing. Restaurant is good. No complaints at all! A little pricey but well worth it!!!

Review 17:The staff were not very well trained check out was a little confusing asshe charged my card then refuneded it. The heating in the room was verynoisey but the room was not warm enough to turn off.

Review 18:The location for fab.

Review 19:Our suite overlooked the Colorado river, a beautiful sight by day or by moonlight. The kitchen had everything we needed, although because it is about ten miles from Moab, we had to plan ahead for our breakfast supplies. The majestic views are unforgettable. The silence and tranquility are wonderful.

Review 20:I wasn't impressed with the dinners. Pretty expensive and not great.

Review 21:Really liked the location among the cliffs. Room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was most friendly. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

Review 22:The epitome of what a western lodge should be. Rustic with lots of wood, stone and tile. Spacious rooms with everything you need. The drive and the destination are spectacular!

Review 23:dinner at the restaurant was OK -- reasonable price but unmemorable food.

Review 24:we stayed in a King studio suite. the location of the room was great, along the river with views of cliffs. the location of the inn is beautiful but not convenient to drive back and forth to Moab (about a half hour drive).

Review 25:There was a bit of trash from the previous tenants left in the room; otherwise, nice and clean.

Review 26:Gorgeous rooms sited on the creek, very pleasant. View at breakfast is incomparable: Colorado River, red cliffs, meadows. Staff at lodge pleasant and friendly, restaurant serves excellent food and offers wine from the premises. No problem getting extra K-cups for room.

Review 27:Th front desk service was not satisfactory. I called to ask for an extra blanket and was asked to come get from the front desk myself. For $200+ per night I expect better than that. Also, the hot tub was not hot. When I mentioned it to the front desk upon checkout the tone of the response was that it was my bad for not notifying them sooner.

Review 28:The location is spectacular and the room was very clean and comfortable

Review 29:Nothing, everything was great

Review 30:The location was mind blowing beauty. The weather was perfect. Sunday brunch was awesome, and the ladies at the front desk were very helpful. Very nice too, that someone from the restaurant called us to see if we have had dinner yet. We missed the first night for dinner. but made it the second night. Very Good.

Review 31:No tea making facilities.

Review 32:The large and comfortable room with dining area made this a good place to stay. The location under the cliffs and by the river is excellent.

Review 33:The location was ideal for getting to downtown Moab...not too close to get the traffic noise and far enough to see the beauty of the area. The facility is very quiet, the rooms very spacious with the sitting area just below the bed area. The amenities were great, coffee maker, toaster, bath robes, etc. Towels for going to the pool/spa and the bathroom towels were probably the best we have ever seen. The adjacent winery for wine tasting and buying was a bonus.

Review 34:Power went out on Sat. Morning, thought maybe a discount for the inconvenience (hot water). Other than that it was great!

Review 35:Setting, convenience and staff were outstanding.

Review 36:Not the fault of the facility but they had a power outage our last day. After 12 hours when they were still not sure they were going to have power that evening, we checked out. They did refund our expense for the day and could not have been nicer. I was surprised they did not have a generator for the main lodge/ restaurant, and the water supply for the cabins. We could live without electricity in our room for a night but not the lack of water.

Review 37:Location was spectacular. Located along the Colorado River in a deep canyon. Our room had a very comfortable bed and well stocked kitchenette. The restaurant food was also excellent.

Review 38:A little remote for my taste. Probably very nice for couples and families

Review 39:Beautiful scenery if you enjoy remote locations. If you want to have Colorado river view from your room or patio you should book a river cabin not a queen suite ,like I did. Their own wine was in fact better than I expected.

Review 40:Front Desk seemed bothered to check us in when we arrived. Bed was uncomfortable and there was a dead cricket in the night stand. Room smelled like a sewer when we arrived, took hours to air out.

Review 41:Lodge is in a spectacular location with gorgeous views. The onsite restaurant was fantastic; food was delicious and service outstanding. One of the best restaurants in Moab.

Review 42:Waking up to a view of the red rocks was stunning - leave your curtains open when you go to sleep so that is your first view on awakening! Then get outside and walk around the grounds. Absolutely stunning.

Review 43:The place was lit up like a Christmas tree. This took away some of the magic of being in a remote location and an opportunity to see the stars. The overabundance of lighting - inside and out - negatively impacted the ambience.

Review 44:Location. Western-style of buildings

Review 45:The play area for young children was lame. Two old swings with huge water puddles underthem. Need an updated childrens play area

Review 46:The cabin and view were awesome

Review 47:The breackfast was not good enough for the price we paid to stay at the lodge; The restaurant on the premises was just ok. The price for the Horse back riding is ridiculously high

Review 48:The magnifisent views and vastness of the lodge territory. The large size and the great comfort of the room with the kitchenette and and a little private backyard

Review 49:My sister and I loved our "suite" with its outdoor patio. We opted to bring groceries back so we could eat outside rather than going to a restaurant and we loved having coffee out there while watching the sun rise and the horses in the pasture behind us.

Review 50:Its a long way to the nearest town and a little on the pricey side of just 2 people occupying a 2-bedroom property

Review 51:Beautiful location in a canyon overlooking the River Colorado, quiet and comfortable chalet style property. The pool and hot tub stayed open well after dark. Very close to a winery offering tastings.

Review 52:It's not a negative necessarily but they are about 15-20 minutes from Moab. Just something to be aware of.

Review 53:Beautiful location, restaurant was good.

Review 54:Disappointed with the wine tasting experience at the Castle Creek winery. Lacked warmth and friendliness present throughout the rest of the property.

Review 55:A very special setting along the Colorado river, surrounded by red rocks! Staff was absolutely wonderful --- room spacious, well equipped with amazing views. Sunset on the patio deck on a slightly cloudy evening is breathtaking.

Review 56:The location is stunningly beautiful. Loved the large swimming pool and hot tub with the red cliffs all around. Amazingly, we had the pool to ourselves in the late afternoon. Trail rides and river rafting available from the lodge.

Review 57:Not applicable !

Review 58:How do we start? Beautiful setting , wonderful room and a great staff. We had a fantastic dinner out in the balcony on a beautiful moonlight evening with excellent food and service. It is worth the price and the awesome drive to get there. Would come back again

Review 59:We stayed with another couple in the two bedroom cottage. We had a very nice deck that overlooked the river. Perfect for cocktails! The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, and they included a toaster and microwave in addition to the refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker.

Review 60:The Lodge had a fantastic location and just enough rustic decoration to fit into the surrounding landscape. We were very happy with both the location and all the amenities.

Review 61:So picturesque!!, a beautiful Ranch along the river and at the foot of towering red rocks while horses graze in the front. The winery was a pleasant surprise as well as the large pool and spacious rooms.

Review 62:Seemed like a long ride to Arches National Park and Canyonland but otherwise a lovely central location.

Review 63:Beautiful location, enjoyed the dinner on the patio with scenic view, good service and food. Movie museum was very interesting, enjoyed the pool with scenic view.

Review 64:The location and scenery are fabulous. The terrace of the dining room overlooks the Colorado river, and is stunning. We also enjoyed the pool and the winery.

Review 65:Great facilities in an incredible setting. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful, and I can't say enough about the wrangler, Devin Dixon. We did both the trail ride and the outback ride, and they were the highlight of our trip!

Review 66:It was a very nice room, the setting was beautuful, loved the pool and that you could bring in a beverage in plastic cups. Very quiet, comfortable bed.

Review 67:Bathtub was like a row boat, there was tack strip from the carpet at the edge of the stairs and had to be careful not to step on, lighting was very low.

Review 68:Location was beautiful and setting

Review 69:The beautiful setting of this lodge and its rich film history were unique. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Staff were always accommodating and friendly.

Review 70:The water was hard/salty but that couldn't be helped. Amazing place, amazing location!

Review 71:Hotel staff was excellent, especially Gloria. She was amazing!

Review 72:Beautiful place beautiful surroundings. The room was great. The bed was great. There is a small laundry on site. This was our favorite place to stay on our whole trip over the Western states. LOVED IT!!!

Review 73:The lodge is also a stop for tour buses and their lunch is a buffet targeted to the tour bus crowd. I'd recommend skipping it. The lunch is, however, in a separate building which is good because the one misstep in taste in the property are the tacky "teepees" and wagons along the shore line, presumably for children to occupy themselves in.

Review 74:Red Cliffs has lovely lodges nestled along the banks of the Colorado River. There's also a nice pool, hot tub and an adjacent winery. One couldn't ask for better scenery or a lovelier place to stay in the Moab area.

Review 75:The location is beautiful BUT it is 25 mins drive from the entrance to Arches National Park which was our primary reason for going to the Moab area. There are many less expensive (if less charming) places to stay right in Moab some of which are within less than a mile of the park entrance. Its location also means that you probably will not go into Moab to eat so you are kind of stuck with their restaurant for dinner. It is pretty good but not cheap!

Review 76:It is a well-run, comfortable place to stay.

Review 77:Red Cliffs is a great place to stay. The staff was very friendly and treated me as a longtime friend. The food and beverage was very good, including the breakfast buffet for less than $11. With the amazing landscape all around you, including sunrise and sunset, you'll want to take lots of pictures.

Review 78:Breakfast staff should be more attentive to offering and tipping system needs looking at.Bar closed with restaraunt and do not like voucher system.

Review 79:Location is great and facilities are good

Review 80:Everyone was so friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The horse back riding couldn't have been any better. Not only were the views exceptional but Nicole was very informative but also very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

Review 81:We only had 2 days to spend there and couldn't do/see everything we wanted to.

Review 82:Idyllic location off of one of the most scenic roads in the U.S. The pictures are beautiful but just cannot show the grandeur of the canyon. Everything from the room to the pool to the museum were tastefully done.

Review 83:The setting is extraordinary and the hotel is in tune with it, both in authenticity and in quality. The hotel is further from Moab than we expected but the road! What a surprise! What magnificence! and then you reach the hotel and find out that the views from the restaurant are even more stunning than those that stunned you minutes before. Rooms are perfect: no frills, nothing missing, nothing superfluous. Only criticism: one cannot darken the room completely because there is a window at the top of the entrance wall.

Review 84:For the price, we were expecting nicer accommodations. Our battered dirty couch looked like something that had been picked up on the side of the road. The cabins have potential, but have been neglected. The website describes them as "luxury" and "anything but primitive". However, our cabin had not been cleaned thoroughly for some time because we were immediately greeted by large cockroaches and moth nests. Throughout the night, mice crawled onto the kitchen counter and chewed into our unopened food, ruining it and creating a mess. When I brought this up with a staff member, she claimed that "we get a lot of pests this time of year" and offered NO apology. I can understand that mice could be difficult to control in a setting like this, but cockroaches and moth nests stuck to the walls are a result of poor cleanliness. Brunch in the morning was not worth the $15 per person. The food was mediocre and cold. Keep in mind that you have to pay extra if you have more than two people staying in the queen TWO BEDROOM cabins - as if they didn't charge enough to begin with.

Review 85:Beautiful location and views. The lodge offers many amenities and activities. Loved the patio and fireplace.

Review 86:Some gluten free options on the breakfast buffet would have been appreciated fro our coeliac son who had very little he eat.

Review 87:Fabulous location and view. The balcony next to the river Great restaurant Well maintained Nice pool

Review 88:Mixup in who was waiting on us in restaurant caused delay. Then waitress curtly told us that if we would close our menus she would know to come wait on us. Small thing though in our wonderful experience there.

Review 89:Location, view, room were fantastic! We have HIGHLY recommended your place to others and hope to come back again.

Review 90:Food choices can be limiting. Town of Moab offers a lot more variety and worth the trip.

Review 91:Views are stunning and the drive up the canyon to resort is a bonus.

Review 92:Location and scenery are amazing. Colorado river was 50 yards right our deck with canyon walls and cliffs right there. Property and staff were wonderful !

Review 93:Dinner menu, while adequate, could have been more innovative. The local wine is virtually undrinkable.

Review 94:The location is drop dead gorgeous. The southwest decor of the room was appealing and tasteful. MUCH nicer place to stay than, say, Moab for visiting Canyonlands and Arches National Parks.

Review 95:Beds were a bit uncomfortable. Mini fridge was left uncleaned from the last guest.

Review 96:Stunning location. Friendly staff, especially at the corral. Spacious suite. Close proximity to the national park. Great food at the restaurant.

Review 97:First night in the restaurant was less than average. Our waiter was not attentive or friendly and beef meal less than mediocre. Second night was much better with service and meal.

Review 98:Loved Red Cliffs. Amazingly beautiful and serene. Wonderful to see trail horses grazes in the morning from our creek cabin patio.

Review 99:Absolutely phenomenal location! So much beauty all around. A destination in and of itself! Be warned, it is a bit off the beaten path...... appx 14 miles down a small winding road, but well worth the drive once you get there! Great amenities, nice restaurant, and great views all around. I only wish I had more time to stay here.....

Review 100:The check in staff were unfriendly, distracted and not one bit helpful Dinner was awful, my ribs were tough and undercooked, my husbands steak was tough and cold. Salad was a wad of field greens with a strawberry cut up on it and about a tablespoon of goat cheese, just expected something a littler better for the price.

Review 101:The room was amazing, comfortable and clean. Location on the river was perfect.

Review 102:Absolutely wonderful lodge! We stayed with our older teenage sons. Ate dinner and lunch on the open deck after a great hike in the canyon. The food was outstanding at a decent price for both dinner and lunch. The lodge is situated In a spectacularly beautiful location with views of the red rocks and canyons in this area. You are surrounded by nature and the lodge sits on the Colorado River. We were upgraded to a cabin which was very comfortable with 2 nice size bedrooms, an open living area and kitchen. A patio with lounge chairs faces the river. Fantastic stay. Hope to return where again someday.

Review 103:Back here for the third time which says it all. Everything's great about this place, but the views over the Colorado River from the restaurant terrace really set it apart. Incredible.

Review 104:The was nothing that I found I did not like about this resort.

Review 105:The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful during our stay. The room had a great view of the canyon and river and a private balcony. The room was extremely clean and well appointed.

Review 106:A little far from where we were doing most of our activities, however the drive was amazing

Review 107:The location, facility and rooms were all awesome and the staff was very nice.

Review 110:Wifi unusable

Review 111:Stayed at sorrel river ranch down the road before and this is by far better. Stayed at 12 hotels on this holiday and this was the best by far. Sorry we didn't have longer here.

Review 112:The beds are lumpy for the price, and the WiFi is very slow. The lodge is far and not very convenient if one wants to go in to town. Needs more than one ice machine, especially during the summer.

Review 113:Beautiful and peaceful surrounding. The buildings are rustic and blend in very well with the surrounding. The lodge is not crazy crowded with tons of tourists. The trail riding and its staffs are knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant has a good selections considering how far from town it is. The food is also very good and fresh.

Review 114:The worst part of our experience was that we only had one day here! The setting is absolutely amazing and made our stay worth the cost even though we didn't have time for the winery, horseback riding, or other adventures. We did check out the pool, which was on the small side and very popular, but again, the surroundings made up for all shortcomings. There was a good amount of variety at the breakfast buffet, staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We can't wait to visit the area again and spend a little more time at this facility.

Review 115:Red Cliffs Lodge is THE place to stay for anyone going anywhere near Moab! Exceptional location, facilites and staff. Only minor inconvenience was wifi not working in our room, but in truth I should be happy about it - it's vacation after all and the internet can get in the way. The lodge was a two minute walk away and wifi was great there. An overall wonderful stay and experience.

Review 116:Breakfast buffet was fantastic, dinner menu just OK. River suites needed more comfortable patio furniture. Bathroom dimly lite.

Review 117:RCL was just what we were looking for, upscale rustic away from the crowd. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Review 118:Our creekside suite was dated and dark. We asked about upgrading to a riverside cabin and were told they were full. However, we were there for 3 days and could see that many cabins were vacant.

Review 119:Beautiful scenery and location. Service was good. River cabins seem ideal. Nice pool with hot tub. Our kids enjoyed playing horseshoes. We enjoyed being in a quiet place compared to downtown Moab.

Review 120:Nothin' to complain

Review 121:As a very critical hotel guest, I really don't get the negative reviews people make here. First of all, yes, Red Cliffs is a 20min drive away from Moab, but you should've known when you booked, it’s not a secret or trying to hide this… This is absolutely an amazing experience in the middle of the canyon. Our lodge had a spectacular view just a couple meters away of the Colorado. As an European, this was the most close of experiencing the life of a cowboy ;) Dining on the deck, with an amazing panoramic view, that alone was worth the bit more expensive pricing. But still reasonable. Unless you are used to go to fast food places... (p.s. if you have to drive to and from Moab downtown costs you gas = dollars too!!)The food was great, the staff warm and very friendly. They let us try two wines before we choose which wine to drink and stayed on the deck, until sunset. The breakfast, those who complain that it’s wasn’t good, you are spoilt! Plenty of choice from both cold and warm food. We went horseback riding, which has been one of the best memories of the entire trip we’ve made, friendly staff and an amazing experience. During our 3 weeks trip, we’ve stayed in 15 hotels and this was one, by far, of our favorites.

Review 122:Service was exceptional. Never left a review before but was so blownaway by this place that I had to. Only passing through so there only onenight but had I known about this place earlier would've made it heresooner just to stay longer. Would definitely recommend this place toanyone. Food great, room great, view great everything great!!!

Review 123:Nothing to dislike, but some plates, cutlery and cooking utensils in the otherwise well equipped little kitchen would have been really very helpful!

Review 124:The location was beautiful. In the King suites you can hear the river from the room with the patio door open. Lots of space with kitchen, living and sleeping areas and a private outside terrace. Good heated pool and jacuzzi, nice restaurant and super winery on site.

Review 125:Layout of the room with the separated living area was a pleasant surprise. The river view from our back patio with the rail fence was a nice touch. Our dinner from the Red Cliffs restaurant was most enjoyable after a day of hiking in the Arches.
