Reviews for Bowen Motel

Review 1:There was a car right in front of our room that was taking up two spaces. When we talked to the front desk they were rude. They re-informed us that the spots were first come first serve in a very rude tone. When I explained that I realized that but that this guy was a single car parked with the line from two spots was in the middle of their car, the girl replied "Like I said before, there is nothing I can do it's first come first serve." I didn't like how rude she was at all.

Review 2:I like that it was a moderate price and close to most of the shops.

Review 3:the noise from the street was sometimes annoying. The soundproof is not ideal, sometimes it was possible to hear what my neighbors were doing in their room. No breakfast provided

Review 4:The staff was attentive and ready to help with all questions

Review 5:There is no eatery within the motel. Wasn't a big issue but would had been more convenient if we didn't have to drive out for food. The laundry room is located outside the motel vicinity and kinda tricky to find (signage was not very visible) when we wanted to do laundry at night after returning from our day's hike. We ended up driving to a different laundry service shop in another street. It was quite chilly at night so couldn't imagine walking to the laundry room even if we could find it that night.

Review 6:Spacious room and very helpful front-desk staff during our late evening check-in.

Review 7:A little close to the highway but the noise did not keep us awake.

Review 8:Receptionist was very nice and helpful. Room was very clean. Beds were great. In room coffee was great since we had an early start.

Review 9:I realize bed comfort is very personal but we found the bed way too soft and the noise of the air conditioner very noisey.

Review 10:The central location to shops, restaurants and Arches National Park is great. The bath lines were like brand new.

Review 11:For the cost of the room, it looked worn. Also, the maid did not give us new shower towels and we stayed for more than a day.

Review 12:Location--very convenient to the Arches NP and to everything downtown Moab has to offer. I also liked it that they left "old" towels for cleaning dirty shoes, etc. from all the hiking we did.

Review 13:The breakfast discount needs to be improved because the price is comparable with other places that provide breakfast.

Review 14:Location in the centre of town and the large comfortable room.

Review 15:The Bowen is centrally located in Moab, easy to walk anywhere. They are bicyclist freindly, they provide an area to clean your bike and each room has a bucket of towels for cleaning and maintaining your bike. The rooms are quiet and comfortable.

Review 16:Had noisy guests above us. Office called an asked them to be considerate. Next time I'm there I will stay on top floor

Review 17:Stayed there 2 yrs in a row. Staff really keeps the propery in top condition

Review 18:Even though our room was near the street it was very quiet. Friendly little family run facility. It was easy to walk to many restaurants and shops. Bicycle cleaning area and rags and bucket for cleaning them in each room.

Review 19:The air conditioning is a bit noisy which did disturb our sleep as both of us are light sleeper

Review 20:The staff is very attentive. The day before our arrival she asked whether we have any request. As my friend and I are a light sleeper I requested two single beds. However as the rooms were fully booked, we had been upgraded to 2 queen beds.

Review 21:We were on motorcycles and they put us in an alley on the ground floor in a handicap room, not easy to find, our friends which we traveled with got a better rate and were in the main area. No continental breakfast.

Review 22:Location

Review 23:The room was quite small.

Review 24:We left our car key in the room and they are mailing it to us. (One timewe left something in a Marriott and they would not mail it to us.)

Review 25:Not sure why but just didn't sleep well this trip.Probably just too much hiking on my part.

Review 26:Very good basic hotel. Rooms are large and appear to be in good condition. This is our 7th or 8th stay and continue to enjoy.

Review 27:The noise of people on the top floor starting at 5.45 in the morning. Is not quiet enough if you want to sleep in. Fan very noisy in bathroom.

Review 28:the location, friendliness of staff

Review 29:The bed was not the most comfortable and the air conditioner had a high pitched whine when on.

Review 30:The fact it was so close the parks was fantastic! Overall it was clean and staff was friendly.

Review 31:We just had a regular room, 2 beds, but the room was extra spacious! Plenty of room for luggage, 2 bikes, and still room to walk. DirecTV with the new remote, easy to use. Turned out to be a great choice for a Moab stay!

Review 32:The only "negative" would be the outdated light fixtures in the rooms. Some of the towels needed to be retired. Also the lack of a continental breakfast is a minor negative but not a deal breaker with great options near by on Main Street. Beyond that, it was fantastic and I feel like I'm being nit-picky!

Review 33:Really nice, up to date facilities. They have thought of everything from a place to wash your bike to providing in-room rags to clean things other than your body. Very friendly staff.

Review 34:Your bed was the most uncomfortable that my wife and I have ever slept on also to small.

Review 35:The location is great, the people were very friendly and helpful .

Review 36:Clogged shower drain, The day was hot so thinking the air conditioning wasn't keeping up (older motel), the air conditioner was broken on a 100 degree day, no ceiling fan, no tissues-1 was in the box, air conditioning had to be replaced after 11pm and the air conditioning condensation was spilled on the floor soaking the carpet. Water, heat & carpet = mold Complaining about it I got...... "Regarding the spilled water, Maintenance explained to me that towels were provided and that is really all that can be done, and I am happy you laid them down to absorb the water (thank you)."

Review 37:The towels!! Nice & fluffy!! The housekeeping & maintenance staff was very friendly. Great location, in walking distance to restaurants & shopping.

Review 38:Great motel with character and charm. We always prefer a non-chain and the Bowen is a great example of an independent motel. Everything is within walking distance, even a large park for the dog to romp in.

Review 39:wonderful pillows and lots of them. huge fluffy towels and a great shower. Staff is very friendly and gave us a great dinner suggestion with a 10% coupon. Price was right too.

Review 40:My sheets smelled of cherry flavoring, a little off putting. Our windows faced the stairway and people were walking by and stopping at the top of the stairs hence not very private room with the curtains open. Very dark with the curtains closed.

Review 41:Close to restaurants and shops. Swimming pool. Clean room and bathroom. Free parking.

Review 42:The only remark is that it was a little bit too pricy for a motel or at least breakfast could be included

Review 43:Everything was good! The room was very clean and very cosy. The location is very good and close to the park and to all the places of the city.

Review 44:The room was spacious, also the bathroom. Bed, shower satisfactory. Generally quiet, convenient to stores and restaurants. It was very helpful to have internet access in the office.

Review 45:Good location for walking into town, shops, restaurants etc. Handy for Arches and Canyonlands NPs. Lovely small pool at the end of a hot day. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean basic rooms with comfy beds. good wifi and TV. Much quieter than I was expecting but it was mid week.

Review 46:The room was very shopworn and very small. The bed was the smallest queen bed I have ever seen.

Review 47:The staff was friendly and helpful. The place was next and clean.

Review 48:The cost of this room came to about $180 for one night, so we were expecting high class treatment. No continental breakfast, wires sticking out of the wall, maybe a 150 sq ft. room, and the coffee maker leaked all over the place when I attempted to make coffee the next morning, thinking I would take advantage of the one "trustworthy" amenity. They certainly know how to work supply and demand.

Review 49:There was a roof over our heads and a bed.

Review 50:It was too rainy. We know that wasn't your fault, though. We just chose a bad time to travel. However, it wasn't too bad. The only other thing that could have made it better was a king size bed.

Review 51:We loved visiting Arches National Park, but...

Review 52:Didn't have a bad experience but that's probably because we were on the top floor. The floor creaked and I'm sure the folks below us must've heard every step.

Review 53:Walking distance to shops and restaurants. The Jailhouse Cafe was the best for breakfast!

Review 54:Very small room for the price.Very tight fit for two people. Bathroom needed face lift and had dust balls behind the door. Too close to road as we heard and felt the truck traffic most of the night.

Review 55:Location and staff is great. Easy walking distance to good food.

Review 56:Nothing spectacular, but we visit Moab for the outdoors, anyway. Parking lot very tight.

Review 57:Location, microwave and mini fridge, bike washing station, rags provided for clean up of equipment. Good sized room.

Review 58:Slight musty smell in the room . The room was in a corner and quite small. Parking was a bit squeezy.

Review 59:Staff were very helpful. Bed was comfy. Room had been renovated but bathroom was still a bit drab. Swimming pool was great. Clean and warm. New laundry was exceptional

Review 60:Parking wasn't very good. If you have a trailer you cant park in the front lot. Everything was okay but I was concerned parking my vehicle and trailer in the back lot.

Review 61:The bike washing station was fantastic and the location was great. We would ride all day, wash the bikes, clean up and walk down the strip to get dinner. Excellent location.

Review 62:Overpriced by 50% for actual accommodations, but Moab is a captive tourist mecca, so they charge what the traffic will bear.

Review 63:Convenient location, one story

Review 64:No step to get into unit 128, very long step for an 85 year old with knee problems. Maids ignore the dirt around the door to the bathroom, both sides. Beds were not comfortable

Review 65:location, office clerk very helpful in letting us get a downstairs room.

Review 66:I liked the location, the staff were very friendly, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the TV was great. There was a perfect little block to walk the dogs. The room was very quiet, even with all the hussle and bussle outside.

Review 67:the price. twice as much as what I usually pay for lodging in the area, but everything was sold out, so I didn't have a choice. They may have jacked up the prices for the busy weekend (Jeep Safari). We were just there to see the park and had no idea.

Review 68:They called us to verify our reservation. The staff was friendly. The room was clean. Free Wi-Fi was good.

Review 69:That we couldn't stay longer

Review 70:How centrally located it was to everything and the rooms were clean and so cozy! Our daughter loved the pool and our dog was welcomed, which is a big thing for people who like to travel with their best pals :)

Review 71:Very creaky floors above and below.

Review 72:Good location for National Parks and walking distance to a variety of eateries. On main highway but very surprised how quiet it was.

Review 73:The swimming pool wasn't open. The grounds have no appeal.

Review 74:The girl at the desk was particularly pleasant. We liked being downtown. Everything in the room worked.

Review 75:Dirty sheets. Staff immediately changed sheets when I called the front desk. Bathroom could have been a little cleaner.

Review 76:Everything was nice. Bed comfy, good tv.

Review 77:Very noisy. Anytime someone walked by we could hear their entire conversation. Cleanliness could have been better.

Review 78:Great Main Street location and comfortable room. Very affordable. Adjacent to yummy breakfast spot. Would stay again.

Review 79:Had to get ice from lobby.

Review 80:Large room, big HDTV and cable, fridge and microwave, comfy reading chairs, Kingsize bed, pet friendly, great value. Would recommend this to my friends. Great location in town center, can walk dog to river park.

Review 81:The construction!! It woke us up all three mornings. We called thefront desk and asked them to stop she said she would take care of itbut no it continued all morning. I'm not talking about a littlenoise this was people pounding and drilling in the room right under us.It literally shook the floor! When we called the front desk again theydidn't answer. Also the road noise is pretty bad and the pool isclosed in off season.

Review 82:The location and price were good.

Review 83:This motel is walking distance from the main shopping area and restaurants in Moab. It's a pretty basic place, but everything was clean and worked. For what we paid this was a great value.

Review 84:Limited accessibility to ice. Had to go to office for a bucket of ice and the office hours limited the access.

Review 85:The room was unexpectedly spacious. The carpet was clean enough we could walk barefoot on it without worry. All fixtures were updated and modern. Wish we could have stayed more than 1 night.

Review 86:Housekeeping staff was not friendly and did not even acknowledge us.

Review 87:Nice homey atmosphere, good value for the money, clean room, friendly front desk staff.

Review 88:they did not allow us to stay there. my mother was paying over the phone with her cc. since the card was not there for them to visably see it, they did not allow the card to be charged.

Review 89:Great price and great room quality. The room was closest to the street, but the noise level was minimal. There is no complimentary breakfast, but the grocery store or diners are within a few minutes drive. I'd stay here again for sure!

Review 90:Air conditioning fan was loud, pillows were wimpy.

Review 91:Walking distance to everything, off the main road made it relatively quiet. Good pet-friendly place for a weekend away.

Review 92:We had people in the room above us who were up walking all hours of the night. The floor was creaky and made it difficult to get a good sleep

Review 93:The fact that the hotel was in Moab was fantastic because it was so close to Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. We stayed there 4 nights.

Review 94:Great location, comfortable bed, large room, nice decor, pleasant staff. No breakfast, but there are many yummy breakfast joints in Moab to enjoy. I will definitely stay here next time I come!

Review 95:Like most places in Moab is along main highway and there is a considerable amount of streeet noise.

Review 96:Large rooms that were very clean. Really nice towels in bath. Had a place to was dogs bikes etc. As the red dirt gets everywhere. Convenient to lots of eating choices. Refrigerator and microwave in room.

Review 97:In ground floor room, footsteps above - plus pulsing noise of air conditioner - were frequent and interruptive of sleep. Cost of lodging in Moab is higher than most neighboring areas, so getting a regular motel room for $130 a night can be a bit of a letdown. Many nice B&Bs in town offer more for the money, if one is able to beat the crowd to reserve them.

Review 98:Attractive room, comfortable beds, good assortment of amenities.

Review 99:This motel is right along Main Street which is very loud from constant traffic (as there is only one road through Moab). Even with earplugs I had a hard time getting some decent sleep. Would not stay again because of this reason.

Review 100:Perfect location for visiting Arches NP and Canyonlands NP, right in the middle of Moab. Room was clean, staff was friendly, wi-fi was good.

Review 101:The motel was ok, clean, all comforts, free parking, but no breakfast included. Located in moab that is a really really nice village next to Arches national park. Full of shops and restaurants, we had the best steak of our life in Jeffrey's steak house, 5 min walking from the motel -- go there and you will not regret paying a quite expensive but worthwhile meal!!

Review 102:The room air conditioner was astonishingly noisy and uncontrollable, to the point that it made it difficult to sleep.

Review 103:The location was excellent, central Moab with access to shops, restaurants and cafes. The motel's pool was good- not too busy- and plenty of parking.

Review 104:My only complaints was where the ice machine was...I was awake mostly both nights due to people filling up on ice all night and into the early morning. And for the price, something for bteakfast..even just bagels and cereal would have been nice.

Review 105:I would still recommend the Bowen to family and friends.

Review 106:we didnt like the fact we couldnt spend more time ..but who doesnt ?

Review 107:we spent 1 night there , usually we camp but decided a room for the night , and for the value it was money well spent ! having stayed at a few other higher priced motels and even hotels , this place was well worth it , even the tv worked awsome unlike some other places we stayed in the west .....highly recommend

Review 108:The air conditioning and fridge are really loud. We turned the aircon off for most of the night and had to turn the fridge right down so it would stop making so much noise. Other than this, Bowen Motel suited us fine.

Review 109:The room was clean and bed comfortable. The bathroom provided a good hot shower with decent water pressure. Bowen Motel is in a great location at the north end of the Main Street in Moab. A short walk and you have a number of great cafés or restaurants to eat at. The wifi always worked and there was also a pool at the motel (though we did not use it).

Review 110:The air conditioning was noisy which made sleeping difficult.

Review 111:Ideally located near the shops/ restaurants. The facilities were good with all mod cons.

Review 112:Bathroom very small. No hook on door for pj's, etc. Air Conditioner was very noisy. No comfortable chair to sit in. We had to sit on the bed to watch tv.

Review 113:Bathroom updated. Room clean.

Review 114:The woman at the front desk was super nice and gave us great recommendations for dinner. The rooms are clean and spacious, the shower has good pressure, all around it was a really pleasant stay.

Review 115:I asked for a late checkout and while you usually expect 30 mins to an hour not to be a problem, or to at least get an apologetic / courteous denial, the lady at the front desk was pretty rude about it. The young lady who was there at check-in was much nicer.

Review 116:Good location in Moab, as close as town can get to the national parks.

Review 117:Nothing was wrong

Review 118:The rooms are big and clean. Close to the shops which are very nice. About 1-2 miles to Arches NP. Not fancy but well worth the price. I just like a clean place at a good location.

Review 119:The thing that would probably stop me from staying here again is the air conditioning unit. We stayed in two separate rooms at the Bowen Motel and in both of them the air conditioning unit was so noisy that we had to switch it off during the night in order to get any sleep (making for rather warm and uncomfortable nights). The design of the building (not particularly suited to the hot Moab climate - touch the back of the door when the sun is up!) is such that the airconditioning has to work over time and thus sounds like a jet engine. If loud intermittent noises don't bother your sleep or you are used to sleeping in warm temperatures then it's fine, otherwise consider somewhere else.

Review 120:The Bowen motel is pretty basic but clean and with a fridge in the room. It's proximity to Moabs bars and restuarants is excellent and there's a pretty good place for breakfast right next to it.

Review 121:Very nice room at a very reasonable price.

Review 122:Loud noise (lots of walking, dropping of things, etc)

Review 123:On site laundry was very useful. In middle of town, close to resturants.

Review 124:Easy parking. Easy check-in. Affordable.

Review 125:No view

Review 126:Staff was very friendly, the room was very clean, and the price was great! And it's pet friendly!! Thumbs up :)

Review 127:Noisy room that was close to the main road

Review 128:Comfortable and good staff.

Review 129:didn't include breafast, do not have lift.
