Reviews for Stockyards Hotel
Review 1:It would be nice if the hours that food will be available is posted in the room somewhere. I come in from out of town so I am not aware of where food is or what times I can eat. I have missed dinner and/or breakfast every time I have stayed in this area. It is no ones fault but mine, but it would be nice to not miss a meal by 15 minutes when I am there.
Review 2:I like your staff and the ambiance of your hotel.
Review 3:They were having alarm system problems. The alarm started going off at about 3:30 OR 4:00 AM. I figured they would maybe discount our rate or something to compensate, but they did not. Also I had a difficult time using the key to enter the room and had to switch it out twice. The walls are paper thin, so every time someone would use the bathroom, you could hear everything.... Even w/ earplugs and the Fan App. The hotel itself is clean and cute, but I wouldn't stay there again, due to the staff's lack of concern for making up for the alarm problems, and I got no sleep!
Review 4:I did enjoy the rustic atmosphere.
Review 5:The hotel had a musty smell, which was a shame as hotel looked so nice.
Review 6:The staff you have employed went above and behond there duty, they made feel like a princess!!!
Review 7:No bad experiences, just a busy (noisy at times) intersection at the location.
Review 8:We were very pleased with all the staff, our room was very nice and the restaurant echoed with great staff and wonderful food. We would recommend a stay if you find yourself in the area?. Enjoyed the history of the area!
Review 9:The rustic decor was awesome. We loved being on the main street and walked everywhere. The food was excellent. Very friendly helpful staff. Can't wait to come back.
Review 10:Tad overpriced in rates but still we have had positive enjoyable experience and stay. Lack of public transport to Fort Worth downtown, we waited for a taxi over an hour so try to book ahead. Had an issue with debit cards resulting double charged however this matter was resolved 2 weeks later.
Review 11:Great location within historic stockyards. Helpful staff. Beautiful old building with room themes throughout hotel. Great experience and we felt like we were back in the olden days. Worth to visit.
Review 12:I didn't like the valet parking and I thought the rooms were too small for the rate
Review 13:The staff was very friendly and I liked the nostalgia of the facility
Review 14:No room safe, but that appears typical of Smaller American hotel, not too much of a problem, but would have been helpful
Review 15:Closeness to Historic Stockyards town, it was easy walking distance to Billy Bobs Honky Tonk, good size rooms, decor very interesting.
Review 16:Valet parking was extremely overpriced. Very poor parking choices. Upon arrival I was not allowed use of a luggage cart because i was to far away.(1 1/2 block) . Again poor parking choices.
Review 17:Staff was really great. Enjoyed the history.
Review 18:The first 2 double bed room had a loose head board, daughter reported it ,they updated us to another room, which was under repair, then another lovely Victorian room. There was an uneasy feeling in this room, we requested another room, No problem, we were updated to the Geronimo room. It was wonderful, with 2 double beds and a chair that made into a nice bed for our lone boy, the twin to his sister. Not once did the staff show impatience, but were eager to please. They allowed early and late check in due to our later train return to okc. They kept our luggage near their desk while we made final rounds to check what we may have missed in the down town STOCKYARDS. A true view of the old wild west!
Review 19:The friendly staff welcome. They went above and beyond our expectations. The problems encountered were quickly, and efficiently solved. This was a train ride from OKC.to Ft. Worth with a night at the Stockyards Hotel as a birthday gift from this Grandmother to 14 yr. Twins along with daughter. I slept and rested in a quiet room, while daughter and twins walked about, rented bikes, watched the daily cattle drives, hit the candy shop, icecream parlor, had tender steaks in the hotel restaurant. The decor of long ago gave a neat history lesson to the kids. They loved it. We all hope to return, and will recommend. it to friends and relatives.
Review 20:Breakfast was not included for the amount of money i paid for the hotel
Review 21:Location was amazing and loved the themed hotel. The staff were so friendly and the hotel was clean and very comfortable
Review 22:Noisy plumbing throughout the night. Inter-leading door to next room needs to be sound proofed (heard everything our neighbours had to say). Double beds are a little on the small side.
Review 23:Located in the centre of the Stockyards - really wonderful atmosphere and lots of history in the hotel.
Review 24:Our sink was backed up and really slow to drain. The shower curtain had mold on it. Expensive valet parking.
Review 25:The rooms were VERY quiet and the bed was large and comfy (single King). The decorations are fantastic and the staff is great.
Review 26:Great location. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were greeted by everyone from valet to house keeper. Comfortable and clean. Charming.
Review 27:Bathtub & shower wall & vanity sink all need more cleaning/refurbishing! Hotel is pricy, but add to that valet parking, bell boy tip, plus pay for your breakfast. Had to ask front desk 3 times for coffee before the correct coffee was delivered. Adjoining restaurant has decent food, but serving staff are not real friendly or helpful.
Review 28:Nice location, big enough rooms, great AC
Review 29:Our room was above the kitchen so banging noise and the smell of cooking food was a constant. Our room was next to the business road so the noise carried easily to the room. The breakfast menu in a Continental breakfast.....Yuck!!! Cowboys back in the day loved biscuits and gravy not a dang danish!!!!
Review 30:The hotel is historically beautiful. The hotel is in the heart of the stock yards for easy access to shops. The staff was very pleasant to be around.
Review 31:I wished the restaurant offered breakfast on weekdays not just weekends.
Review 32:Loved the themed decor and the character of the building. Restaurant and bar were awesome.
Review 33:The only down side was that there wasn't a restaurant in the hotel for breakfast during the week. But the staff was very helpful and gave directions to a restaurant close by.
Review 34:The kids really liked the decor. They were amazed by the lobby.
Review 35:I should have specified but I figured all their rooms were western decor but we were placed in a room that was just normal with Victorian decor. Things are outdated but still in good great condition I think they keep it that way so you get the historic feel....
Review 36:The beds were very comfortable and the hotel keeps its historic uniqueness plus you walk right out of the front door into the stockyards. I grew up in Fort Worth and going to the stockyards very frequently I always wanted to stay there so we decided to spend a couple nights in their hotel for fun!
Review 37:There was nothing wrong with our stay.
Review 38:The hotel was amazing and very gorgeous. The staff was friendly and every staff member would acknowledge my family when we passed by.
Review 39:Quintessential historic Texas hotel with friendly staff and all the fun and food next door. Perect for someone looking to channel their inner Catle Baron.
Review 40:VERY slow wifi (<100KB). Self-closing door on TV cabinet (trivial, I know, but needed to be propped open by extending suitcase handle, generating trip hazard)
Review 41:Great ambience of hotel and restaurant (room, public area pictures and sculptures). Very helpful staff. Great shower pressure/temperature. Good coffee in room. Aircon/fans good
Review 42:Bonnie at front desk was so nice and helpful with me on the phone. Since this room was not for I was not cig in and was able to order extra.... Champaign and strawberries for the room and pay for it over the phone.
Review 43:Everything was fine though I did have to mail a check/letter and the very sweet lady working at the desk said that mail is picked up every day from there and she'd put it in the mail bin. For whatever reason, the letter never did find its way to its recipient. A few weeks later I called to ask if possibly it was still there or had fallen on the floor, etc. and the woman who answered the phone was instantly defensive and mock-receptive, as if I was blaming her! Haa. But, it takes all kinds to make a world and really, this was no big deal considering how wonderful everything else was.
Review 44:Lovely hotel, clean, comfortable, reasonably priced...in the heart of the Stockyards area...really great stay.
Review 45:Surprise after surprise on charges. Thought about staying another night but was quoted a different rate then on line. Also charged a valet fee but not told in advance then charged another sixty dollars in state and county taxes that should have been covered in the room rate.
Review 46:I enjoyed the atmosphere of the room and the hotel.
Review 47:Staff at the front desk , although polite and helpful seemed too busy to get things right. I was using a travel money card to pay for the hotel which worked fine in every other hotel. However before we arrived the hotel charged my UK credit card which I used to book months ago for the full amount. This incurred a charge of £18 for a non-sterling transaction. Then when we arrived I handed over my Travel money card which they also took and froze more than $900 for my stay. That was refunded when I explained my situation but the money only went back in my account when I arrived home so now stuck with $900 on a card waiting for the exchange rate to increase so as not to incur a loss. We booked a taxi to the airport at the front desk and lo and behold a limo arrived. Double the price and very nice but not what we asked for. We would definitely stay again having learned by this. Stockyards is a wonderful place. I would thoroughly recommend the walking tour.
Review 48:We loved the building, the décor and the location.
Review 49:nothing to complain about if you are aware beforehand that you're paying for an experience ...... ie.no meals included and you pay for valet parking (no parking on site)
Review 50:it's situated in the heart of the historic Stockyards district
Review 51:Thin walls. Heard everyone in the hall and the tv playing and person snoring in the room next door.
Review 52:Upon checkout, manager had a staff member show us the room where Bonnie and Clyde stayed simply because my wife asked if it was true they stayed here. That's the extra step that sets the staff apart.
Review 53:No restaurant attached to hotel so limited options for breakfast mid week before leaving for airport.
Review 54:Had a day to fill in after a working trip so decided to stay at the stockyards, the location is perfect for this as the hotel is in the center of everything so could park car and walk to all attractions. Unique western style hotel and worth a look.
Review 55:The lobby area is just wonderful and the room was large and comfortable. The toilet however like many American ones was very low to the ground. I had a problem with the hot water and maintenance came to look at it within minutes of my requesting assistance. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 56:-
Review 57:A real Texas experience! Everyone was so nice! Great steak dinner at H3 next door and great saloon bars for drinks across the road! Perfect location and loved the room!
Review 58:Comfort of bed, room condition, terrible bathroom and I requested a box of Kleenex and didn't get one. Had to use toilet paper. Had a broken rocking chair.
Review 59:Location
Review 60:Our room's window faced inside the hotel and was mostly obscured by a wall. As there was no external light coming in the window, we needed to have the room lights on (which were quite dim) continually.
Review 61:Outstanding historic hotel with lots of character. Great location with an excellent restaurant on site
Review 62:However the Hyatt place was also very close and had a welcoming feel and was very clean ( there was a stain on the sheets at the top, the valance had coffee marks on it, the window had hooks and a rail, but no net curtain as others did, the outlook was onto a filthy inner area and the window itself was so dirty you could hardly see out. The room was cramped, ill equipped and dingy and not welcoming at all. You could hardly see in the bathroom and vanitory unit as the lighting was so poor.We were glad they did not have room for us and we had to move for our second night
Review 63:The hotel had a great themed restaurant and was next door to the Rodeo and famous stockyards and shopping. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 64:Didn't really like that you always had to valet.
Review 65:Loved the old fashion bathrooms. The soaps were amazing. Could be a great couples retreat for the weekend. I Live in Fort Worth. But I'll do another weekend stay.
Review 66:breakfast was limited and over priced - there was no choice. No self parking
Review 67:decor and bric brac furniture in the bedroom and communal rooms. Restaurant food was excellent. Staff friendly
Review 68:Walls are paper thin, windows are super old and let in lots of noise, staff was snotty....no shuttle to or from the railway....staff were not helpful at all
Review 69:Beds were comfortable.....
Review 70:Some Noise outside room at night, but a pack of earplugs can sort this, nothing of signifance though. No breakfast
Review 71:Everything! Really enjoyed this hotel stay.
Review 72:A bathroom faucet needed repair. Mattress was big old too-soft thing that I had trouble sleeping on; others slept well.
Review 73:Pretty much everything except what's noted as disliked. Staff very helpful.
Review 74:Our room on the Main St side a little noisey in early am n end of day. but this is all we could fault.
Review 75:location perfect. loved the old world charm. Staff all very good at there job and very helpfull.
Review 76:The valet was a little inefficient. If you stay there, call for your car ahead of time if you can. The valets are super but their process seems a little inefficient.
Review 77:Everyone was very cordial and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and right in the middle of all the fun of the Stockyards.
Review 78:Room was on the back side so our window view was awful dark room rooms where expensive and then set out a basket of extras that were clearly way to expensive should of been complimentary considered the price of the room the only thing that was nice was the lobby we stayed for the ambiance of it not a place for kids no pool
Review 79:That we could only stay one night !
Review 80:My kids are adults and we had a two day vacation window to get away . We decided to go country western! So much fun! The restraunt in the hotel was fun and the people were soo friendly. We went to the live music event across the street at the White Elephant and we met a group from Oklahoma who were staying at the hotel as well! Fine folks ! This is a fun place !
Review 81:Nothing to not like.
Review 82:Lovely hotel in every sense.Only stayed a few days but would like to return. It's about three miles from downtown Fort Worth. The Stockyards is in the historical district after which it is named and while the area has been geared for tourists it still fives you a sense of what it would have been like 100 years ago.
Review 83:This is a great historic hotel with lots of character and Texas charm. The amenities are pretty basic, it's definitely not fancy, but the free WiFi is a nice touch and it's decorated well. We stayed in a 1 King bed, room, which was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The attached restaurant and bar were fantastic! They offer local craft beer(other beer and liquor is available, too) and delicious Texas beef! Everyday at 11:30am and 4:30pm in the middle of the stockyards, a small herd of longhorn cattle are escorted down the red brick road which was fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed staying here and everything the stockyards had to offer.
Review 84:We had a nice stay and when we checked out we had time to kill before our train. We left our luggage at the front desk. When we came back they had found my camera case and Ipad that I had forgotten in a drawer. I was very grateful for them to have returned these items. Very nice and polite staff.
Review 85:Room outdated , window do not open and are not noise proof
Review 86:Nice lobby and pleasant restaurant
Review 87:Adjoining rooms allowed noise to travel easily
Review 88:The staff and location were excellent
Review 89:No free parking.

Review 91:Noisy because of the location. They have ear plugs on the night stand.
