The Village Cave Hotel descritpion

The Village Cave Hotel sells fast on our site. This unusual hotel is housed within the ancient rock formations of Çavuşin, near Goreme, offering a unique and authentic experience.
In the 1950s, the old village of Çavuşin was abandoned due to the heavy erosion of the surrounding area. Now, having been stabilized, The Village Cave Hotel offers 6 rooms and a restaurant amid this stunning natural landscape, with much of it carved out of the rock itself.
The present owner of the hotel, Halım Oz, is the grandson of the previous owner and was born in The Village Cave Hotel. Having spent a lifetime in the area, he is able to offer endless information and advice about the Cappadocia area. The hotel therefore offers a number of activities and tours of the region, so that you can get the most from your stay.

Reviews for The Village Cave Hotel

Review 1:Poor wifi connection at the hotel room but at the hotel lobby super fast. Nothing much to complaint.

Review 2:Superb service provided by the hotel staff. We love our vacation there during winter. Will recommend friends n family to stay at this hotel.

Review 3:Mehmet, the owner was very helpful and personable. Made arrangements for our hot air baloon ride. The unit was very cozy and being in a cave added a great touch. We could see the baloons right from our window each morning (when we ourselves were not in them ...). Being vegetarian the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and took care of our meals cheerfully. The special dinner they cooked for us though a bit pricey was delicious and finger licking good. Abdi the manager was wonderful and very helpful.

Review 4:Hotel is great with rooms carved into the mountain , Mete is an excellent host and very knowlegable about the attractions in the area. He will also arrange a shuttle to and from the airport if you flying in.

Review 5:Nothing at all.

Review 6:Amazing hotel. We got so attached to the owner Abdi in only 2 days, we almost cried when it was time to leave. Beautiful place. Amazing service. Extremely cozy.

Review 7:This is a great head of the valley quiet location. We liked that it was near the balloon launch sites and was quite a spectacle first thing in the morning. Very helpful staff and a good Turkish breakfast

Review 8:missed juice, fruits and youghurt for breakfast. The breakfast cave room has not the best acustics when eating at more tables

Review 9:We had the cave double suite - the most up. nice view - but the wooden stairs little bit shaky. But I am sureit will be renewed when the de luxe cave suites are finished. Nice view from roof top.

Review 10:The hotel's preference for payment in cash rather than credit card should have been told to guests at the time of booking.

Review 11:The expectation of having a room carved from rock in this cave hotel met all expectations - very attentive staff - helpful host in organising tours. The hotel's location in the village of Çavuşin, located halfway between Avanos and Göreme, is very convenient.

Review 12:This hotel is great, but new rooms are being created. Work is only carried out when guests are out or awake. Plans for a pool were mentioned so it may become more expensive in the future.

Review 13:Fantastic spot, close to the rose valley, the best walking amongst the rock formations to be had. The home cooked food is really tasty. The family room was carved from the rocks and had a shared balcony overlooking the remains of the old village. You can walk from here through the rose calley to the outdoor museum in Goreme. This was my favourite part of the trip. The staff are friendly and will arrange anything, ballon trip, red and green tours, hire car etc.

Review 14:On arrival I was told the hotel was full despite my reservation for two rooms. After some calls I was offered a single room for four of us to sleep in. After 30 minutes of waiting two rooms were made available, one of which had unclean bed linen on all beds, one mattress was soaking wet, there was no running water, no toilet paper, fridge full of old used food, cupboard doors hanging off.

Review 15:There is nothing about the place that you will not like.

Review 16:Our cave- suite was extremely beautiful and at the same time reallyspacious and comfortable. The terrace was a cherry on the cake. The hostis brilliant and was super helpful. He helped us organize all the toursduring our trip. We were even provided with a free transfer. Absolutelyloved the host. (Y).

Review 17:Highly recommend everyone planning a visit to Cappadocia to stay here. The location is prime and closely situated near attractions. Excellent service, great food and most importantly wonderful staff who make you feel homely and comfortable.

Review 18:The breakfast spread was amazing, with the caves in the background and being served straight from the kitchen rather than a buffet spread was the highlight for me. The staff is very friendly... Would recommend this hotel

Review 19:Not a bad experience, really, but it was a bit annoying that our balcony was shared with several other rooms, though hard to see how that could have been avoided given the original design.

Review 20:The situation, and the fascinating cave-carved building were both wonderful. The old caretakers could not have been more helpful, and the breakfast they brought us was superb. Parking worked out, despite the small space available!

Review 21:This was a great place for our family. The location was excellent and central to all of our visits the different sites in Cappadocia. Halim was a good host!

Review 22:Vİllage Cave is located at a very good location, away from the tourist crowds, where you can feel as part of the charm of Cappadocian life. Located at a very central place in the region, you can take walks to different parts of Cappadocia. The owner, Halim, will help you. It is very important to notice that this is not a newly constructed, fake cave hotel, but an old family house, carefully and successfully converted into a hotel. So this gives you the comfort of a quality hotel, while experiencing the feeling of being a part of this historical region. And, the staff in Village Cave Hotel were very helpful, and friendly.

Review 23:The boss tried hard and persistently to sell us a balloon tour from a particular company where he said his brother works(and he could get a favorite price). We chose another more established one, worrying about the safety. We ended up buying a 'green tour' and 'red tour' from him. He offered 120 Lira each for the green tour ticket and we bargained to 110 Lira and later found out it is still is 10 Lira more expensive than other passengers. And the red tour is not cheap either (we bought 100 Lira each), from a tour agent I believe the boss has associated with, the red tour led us to three shopping stops where we spent more than a hour touring shops and avoiding all those shop salemen....

Review 24:Hotel located in another small town which is 5-6 minute drive from Goreme. The pro is it is very quiet and con is there is nothing to do in evening there. And travel to/from Goreme maybe annoying. The room is big, clean and has everything. Surrounding environment is good, breakfast in yard is nice. The boss is nice but as some other reviewers pointed out, always trying to push you to buy things from him, such as balloon and tour tickets.

Review 25:dog

Review 26:place very beautiful

Review 27:there was no internet. It is not acceptable.

Review 28:The staff does not know English or Arabic but good at body language. It was quite impressive.

Review 29:Extremely warm, thoughtful and caring hosts from Mr Mete to Mr Apti and missus... Rooms were well kept.. A fantastic experience

Review 30:I have been assured of Euro 10 as a refund to my credit card, yet to receive..

Review 31:Staff, rooms and view..

Review 32:All good

Review 33:Everything

Review 34:Perfect place, perfect suite. We wont forget it!!

Review 35:Address is not clear when you book

Review 36:Great greeting with lots of information

Review 37:Good location, very calm, small and very beautiful hotel

Review 38:Nothing

Review 39:The view, the bathtub, the people, the area, the breakfast, the confortable bedroom, the tunnel hallway

Review 40:Bathroom. it was fine, but could be better.

Review 41:Room, chef lady, the scenery!!

Review 42:Is located in a quiet valley, the real cave house, the owner is kind, the staff hard work, stay here more than a day.

Review 43:The staff was really really nice. He allows us for early check-in as early as 8am.

Review 44:We really appreciated the help given to us for our two days of walking in the valleys

Review 45:Run by a family who managed to get all 4 of us onto a balloon ride in a very crowded season. Personal attention and am excellent home cooked food

Review 46:The food in the hotel is actually double of the price of the hotel 2mins away. The owner offered a trip to Avanos which is only 10mins away. Then I found a charge of 40TL on my bill. He should have said it's not free (like the other hotel I stayed in this area.) 40TL is too much. He arranged airport transfer, but the driver didn't come and we nearly missed the flight. And there is a confusion if we should pay him or the driver. Overall, I much prefer the other hotel Taka Eve

Review 47:The cave feel is good. Breakfast is good. Lots of choices.

Review 48:Kind hospitality, smiling and very helpful personnel and the management. Clean, warm, cozy and comfortable accommodation. Located in a nice and strategic area Çavuşin. Hotel is close to hiking, balloon and gastronomic spots.

Review 49:Though only 2 kms away from the activity town gerome its expensive toget there.. So that does restrict your movement. Its preferable to booktransfers yourself as the hotel charges are expensive. Also if you are avegetarian there is not much to eat at cavusin.

Review 50:The hotel is quite comfortable with nice big rooms all with the Caveexperience. Helpful staff and good food (we are vegetarians). Viewis amazing!

Review 51:nothing

Review 52:Excellent service by the host and amazing attention to detail to provide the guests with the most comfortable stay. Amenities provided were more than what we could ask for. The orchard full of fruits just ouside the room just made things more beautiful. The host was so considerate that he even got out car washed just before we checked out. He also helped us in making tour bookings and suggested the best eat out places. Highly recomended !

Review 53:A uphill walk from bus stop. The indoor seating area which was beautifully furnished, but with family in there watching tv or sleeping, I never felt comfortable being there, when as a guest I should be able to relax in there if I choose

Review 54:A beautiful, genuine and elegant cave room. It was clean, comfortable and spacious and very well designed.

Review 55:We had a wonderful vacation, it couldn't have been better. Haim and his wife made us feel completely at home. A perfect place to see historic Capadocia. The breakfasts were enormous and we ate outside under the trees.

Review 56:The hotel is unique in its location and construction. The owner is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Our room was clean and well-appointed. The breakfast was sumptuous and wholesome.

Review 57:Within this price, it's nothing I need to dislike.

Review 58:Staff were helpful and nice. Real cave with good decorations. Nice breakfast with good environment included. We try a beef pottery dinner it's delicious.

Review 59:Located in a very small village, with very little choices for dining or shopping, and no night life.

Review 60:Real & warm hospitality. Direct contact with friendly owner & his family. Willingness to provide any assisstance needed such as picking up, touring, advice for trip planning, reservations for local events & tours, etc. Proximity to scenic mountains & caves and to other towns of the region. Comfortable & clean rooms with unique character of natural stone walls & arched ceilings, hand made carpets & lanterns, and natural stone slab bathroom vanity.

Review 61:The atmosphere of the hotel is unique. It is situated just opposite the ruins of the old village Cavusin and the old church "St. John". It has a nice garden where you can seat or have your drink or your food, watching the ruins. The hotel is very authentic, you feel as if you stay in one of the old houses of Cappadocia. At the same time the hotel disposes with all modern amenities.

Review 62:Very nice breakfast. On nature's doorstep - hiking trails just minutes away from hotel

Review 63:The owner, Halim, went out of his way to make sure we had a great stay.
