Reviews for The Cincinnatian Hotel

Review 1:The rug looked dirty in the room. The staff was not incredibly friendly and seemed aloof. Also the Christmas decor is SUPER creepy. Life size dolls sitting everywhere. GROSS AND TACKY.

Review 2:Loved the ability to walk to restaurants and the beautiful shower! The room was clean and comfortable.

Review 3:I didn't like paying extra for the incidentals upfront as I believed having the credit card on file was for that purpose.

Review 4:I loved that every room had a balcony, the place was impeccably clean and the beds were extremely comfortable.

Review 5:Upgraded to a executive king with a whirlpool tub and fireplace. Very nice room with excellent roomy bathroom. Bed was comfortable also. The fireplace was a nice addition.

Review 6:The bathroom was not the cleanest & had hairs in the tub. I wish there were actual doors on the bathrooms instead of sliding doors.

Review 7:Staff is very friendly.

Review 8:Only problem was the too high bed. I am very short and had real difficulty getting into the bed. Normal sized person probably wouldn't even notice.

Review 9:We were in town for a special weekend and location was perfect for it. Staff was very helpful -- professional and friendly. Attractively decorated for the holidays. Great stay.

Review 10:Decor is a bit out-dated and randomly placed. Balcony rooms are quite noisy on evenings when bar area is festive!!

Review 11:Enjoyed milk/cookies and popcorn. Room Service meal was EXCELLENT!! Great holiday decorations. :) Modern bathroom/amenities/bathrobe. :) Bed was comfy!

Review 12:Booking.com failed to inform the hotel of our reservation, so when we arrived they had no idea we were coming!

Review 13:The staff was extrememly helpful when there was a problem with our reservation.

Review 14:Everything! The room was amazing. The staff was very friendly and prompt. It had beautiful views and the bed was incredible. I cannot recommend it enough.

Review 15:Parking, valet which is 30$ for the night but you can get your car anytime the desk said. Public parking is available at about half the price but bring an easy to carry bag(s) maybe duffle. Wouldn't feel comfortable with actual luggage on the street.

Review 16:The hotel was very nice, had an older hotel feel with an actual key to the room, very nice décor and clean, comfortable. Great deluxe room with Hot, Hot water for the whirlpool tub and wonderful shower. Just down from the Taft theater and just a few steps from the main center of Cincinnati, were they were putting up the skating ice ring for the holiday and plenty of shopping around. Has a bar and restaurant The Place, ordered room service just because didn't really want to leave the room, a little pricey but a good breakfast and service.

Review 17:$30.00 for Valet Parking with no alternative in sight.

Review 18:Upon check in, I asked the lady at the front desk if she had seen my written request to be away from elevators and ice/soda machines. She said yes, and proceeded to check me in and off I go to my room to find out that it is smacked right next to the elevator!!! It was also a room with 2 queen beds rather that the deluxe queen bed room I had booked. Fortunately there was another front desk person when I got back downstairs and Julia or Juliette Rizzoletto was able to get me to another room that was excellent. And with a smile on her face she was able to turn my disappointment into a great experience at the Cincinnatian Hotel.... Thank you Julia!

Review 19:Front desk staff could be more friendly and welcoming.

Review 20:Convenient location. Easy walk to riverfront, restaurants and stadiums. Clean, comfortable room. Lovely marble stairs and wood accents. Doorman was friendly and helpful.

Review 21:No refrigerator and t v is to small for thw money spent in room and having to walk up to the fourth floor to get ice

Review 22:Food and room service was exellent

Review 23:The over night vallet parking was a bit over priced

Review 24:Check in and out was fast and hotel was very nice and staff where very nice and mannered I liked the hotel very much

Review 25:The reason my rating isn't higher is because the noise level at night into morning was unacceptable. Doors were slamming, guests were yelling from their balconies. I would expect a more peaceful atmosphere from a hotel with such good reviews. Also, someone tried to use his key in our door in the middle of the night. That was a nuisance.

Review 26:I liked the cleanliness of the room, the friendly and helpful staff, and the ease of accommodations.

Review 27:i called down to the front desk two different times to ask for the key to the mini bar with the snacks & sodas. both of my parents are diabetics and in case we needed something i wanted it open. after two phone calls still noone brought the key to us. we never were able to get in for snacks or soda.

Review 28:Wonderful stay as always! Location to Fountain Square, casino and Great American Ballpark is a definite plus. Also love the atmosphere when you enter the hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 29:One of the big reasons I choose this room is that the shower had dual shower heads, but one of them barely trickled.

Review 30:The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Staff were extremely professional and courteous. And you cannot beat the location.

Review 31:We were first given a room where the AC didn't work. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk, I was told "yes, sometimes it doesn't work on the 8th floor. " So why put us there?? They moved us to another room promptly, but why even go through all that to begin with?

Review 32:The hotel is beautifully appointed. The room we had was quite large and beautifully decorated. The staff were all so helpful, especially the concierge. Perfect location.

Review 33:VERY Loud city noise, only got 4 hours of sleep because of this. It sounded like the windows were open. Also the steam from the shower caused condensation on the bathroom ceiling and it looked like yellow drippy condensation which was gross.

Review 34:Nice historical hotel and everything was comfortable and the hardwood floors looked nice.

Review 35:A rather splendid upgrade awaited us when we arrived to find the room we had reserved was unavailable ( it was 6pm). I compliment the hotel manager for his flexibility, the suite was a treat.

Review 36:I did not feel I was compensated equally for the price I paid. What Idid recieve was great but id save my money and go to a cheaper hotel forthe same thing. Also, heated bathroom floor didnt work, not a big deal. The fire alarm at 7:55 however was awful. We did not recieve an appologyjust the pleasure of walking down 6 flights of stairs to stand in thestreet. That was handled poorly. If your a young couple looking to spoilyourselves and explore a city, Cincinnati was great, id pick a differenthotel though.

Review 37:The shower was amazing. Historic hotel but everything is updatedand modern. It was clean and I would have been 100% satisfied if itwere cheaper.

Review 38:at the time i booked my room i was under the impression the the room description that was given and the pictures that were shown to me was the room i would check into, that was not the case and to me was very misleading, when a person selects a room and pictures are provided, most people make there selection based off that, my room looked nothing like the room that was advertised to me and i was very upset with this, the man at the counter at the time of my check in, seemed very displeased when i came and asked him was I in the right room, and seemed as if he couldnt understand or maybe didnt care to understand why i was upset, so i let it go. But i strongly suggest that when a person books a room that the pictures that are shown in regards to the description of the room match the actual room that you check into

Review 39:the hotel bar staff was great and very entertaining, also the young men that greated us at the door were awesome also, always smiling.

Review 40:Staff was not that friendly . Had drink in bar and felt like bartender wanted us to hurry so he could close up. Took forever to get our car from valet in morning. Had to wait over 20 minutes.

Review 41:This was listed as a 4 star hotel, and I was disappointed in the dated interior. This hotel has so much potential but needs a face lift. I prefer more modern hotels, with maybe some additional conveniences or amenities. It didn't seem like a luxury hotel, but if you're looking for a clean, fine place to stay it isn't terrible.

Review 42:Staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming at this hotel, which was in an ideal location for downtown cincinatti. The beds were also comfortable. It was clean and the bathrooms were fairly nice.

Review 43:Watch out for an interior room on busy nights. Noise from the 1st floor lobby carries up the atrium and it feels like the party is in your room.

Review 44:Very nice hotel, clean and comfortable. Wireless WiFi included, which is a plus these days. Convenient to downtown venues and dining.

Review 45:The prices of the mini bar/tray

Review 46:It was very nice place to stay. Room we had was a great room bathroom was awesome. Price was a little on the high side for the mini bar but would come back again

Review 47:I woke up to a small roach climbing on my pillow. But that can happen anywhere. The room was in no way unclean

Review 48:The staff were extremely pleasant and professional

Review 49:I loved the whole décor. I loved the scenery. The staff was the best; very helpful. Was definitely the most accommodating and professional staff I've ever encountered.

Review 50:Sorry that this property has not been completely restored to her former glory. The smell of food in the beautiful stairwell. No coffee in rooms.

Review 51:Historic building in central location. The staff was courteous. Easy access to and from interstate highways. Clean bathrooms. The band playing in the lounge.

Review 52:Odd 1970s atrium Being disturbed in the night when the bill was posted under the door Paying for parking

Review 53:Great room Friendly staff Good location Morning coffee station by the elevator

Review 54:valet parking is a pain, our rooms heat and a/c didn't work, the room we ended up in wasn't as nice as our original room. Bed was uncomfortable.

Review 55:Location to Paul Brown Stadium, staff are very helpful and nice.

Review 56:Nothing. I would rate this Hotel a 5 Star.

Review 57:The bathroom and bedroom was updated wonderfully. The room's heating and air controls were easy to use and above all, quiet. The staff was first class and obviously well trained.

Review 58:Seemed like the hotel was living off being "looked at" as an historical artifact and we as guest were paying for that honor... And not much else.

Review 59:Beautiful space. Personable staff. Location next to venue.

Review 60:Valet was $28 with parking literally around the corner $12. Ice wasn't on every floor.

Review 61:The staff was friendly and helpful. Location was close to restaurants.

Review 62:Carpets were stained and dirty, very outdated, poor air conditions, and the handle had to be held to even flush the toilet. Very disappointed!!!

Review 63:The staff was very friendly!

Review 64:Loved the ambiance of the decor. The lounge stays open late and is very comfortable. The free hotel taxi to places downtown is wonderful. Will stay here any time we come to town.

Review 65:It is a little pricey. I have stayed in comparable hotels for half of what we paid here. (Almost 400 for the night)

Review 66:Everything was super nice and the staff was very accommodating.

Review 67:The doormen were helpful. I left my room at 7am and it was still not cleaned by 4pm, maid service poor. Front desk employees were arrogant and condescending in the way they communicate to customers that did not wear a suit. I find this offensive. Room service was prompt but food was overpriced and they substituted my vegetable without even asking me. The gym was in fair condition.

Review 68:room was a bit noisy

Review 69:loved the whirlpool tub, beautiful facility, well decorated for the holiday

Review 70:Great hotel. Close tot every thing. Clean rooms. Great lobby with bar area. They have a great breakfast menu.

Review 71:Of course everyone we encountered was very nice, but the location of hotel is paramount.

Review 72:Nothing. It was all great! Great price too!

Review 73:Loved the ambiance!

Review 74:Renovated rooms with old charm

Review 75:The overall experience was amazing. From the valet, to the front desk staff and room service. Everyone was friendly and accommodating.

Review 76:Lack of maturity and enthusiasm of desk staff!

Review 77:The location.

Review 78:The room was beautiful and we were in walking distance to the ballpark and great restaurants.

Review 79:Skimpy with the soap and only 1 very small trashcan

Review 80:Beautiful decor and very helpful staff

Review 81:Friendly and accommodating staff.

Review 82:Floor was dirty and sticky in elevator and stayed that way all 4 days we stayed there...can't believe this was a 4 star hotel

Review 83:Palace Restaurant

Review 84:I will be writing headquarters about our experience. That should tell you about our experience.

Review 85:The historical hotel.

Review 86:Price is too high for a small room.

Review 87:Close to Reds ballpark. Convenience.

Review 88:No parking garage at the hotel

Review 89:windows faces the street so all the traffic noise was a bit annoying.

Review 90:room service, prompt and really really good

Review 91:Entrance from self parking was thru the dirty Alley. Not what I was expecting after the cost of my stay.

Review 92:The breakfast service was a little bit slow. It would be great if they have more stuffs.

Review 93:I really enjoyed the local beers at the bar.

Review 94:I loved the atmosphere in the public areas, the wonderful attitudes of the staff, and the room service. The rooms are beautiful.

Review 95:room

Review 96:the service was rude, so i too my money else where

Review 97:we didn't get a chance to stay so i wouldn't know

Review 98:Bath water temp never got above tepid temp

Review 99:Friendly staff if a little aloof

Review 100:bath and shower were outstanding modernized nicely but still had historic feel secure parking across st

Review 101:There was a spot of blood on the comforter which was a bit off putting.

Review 102:Beautiful Hotel. Staff was very nice

Review 103:Friendly , professional, and very, very nice Thankyou, Kathleen&Michael

Review 104:Room was beside the stairwell and the noise level at times were hard to get to sleep

Review 105:Cost to much

Review 106:Location

Review 107:Executive suite with heated floors, whirlpool tub & double shower was the best!

Review 108:Use of car to get around town cookies at night nice

Review 109:Booked London taxi day before and was confirmed but when we went to catch it, was not available. Also bedding had smell of previous guest perfume. Also phone on desk in room did not work. Phone in bathroom did.

Review 110:I can not think of a single thing.

Review 111:The staff was by far the most professional and accommodating we have come across in a long time. Other hotels could take lessons from this staff. This was our fourth stay at the Cicinnatian, it is our "Go-To" hotel while staying in the area.

Review 112:The only disappointment about the hotel was the room service food. My breakfast arrived very overcooked.

Review 113:The room was so comfortable and beautifully decorated. The shower was incredible - 2 rain shower heads and 6 jets! Everything felt luxurious.

Review 114:My stay wasn't long enough.

Review 115:The staff very friendly. We stayed in one of the renovated suites and it was simply beautiful. I will return again. This was our 2nd time in this hotel and both stays were wonderful.

Review 116:We would have liked a small microwave, a coffee maker, and a small refrigerator. Reception told us we could have room service boil water for us, but we thought that was ridiculous, so I made tea with super hot water from the faucet that one night. I had to skip doing my nedi pot the next morning since I could not warm up distilled water. We were told on Saturday that free fruit would be available for the runners Sunday morning starting at 4:00 a.m. I went to the lobby at 4:15 and was the only one there except for 2 staff members who had just finished setting up. One staff person wanted to charge me $3.00 for 2 bananas (he told me that was the hotel policy -- charge per number of items), but when I told him we'd been told the day before that the fruit free and that we would have brought our own 2 bananas if we knew they were going to charge, he was very nice and let me have the bananas no charge.

Review 117:I really want to rate the Cincinnatian Hotel as a "Very Good" but booking.com does not have this rating. We wanted a hotel room at a reasonable rate (we knew things would be a bit pricier for special-event weekends) for the night before my Flying Pig Half Marathon, which was 6:30 the next morning. The location of the Cincinnatian Hotel is great, as I could walk to the start and from the finish. It is also walking distance to the Flying Pig Expo and to many restaurants. The staff was very friendly. We had a problem when we went to our original room, as someone was already in that room, but when we went back to the reception area, they were extremely apologetic and mortified and immediately upgraded us at no extra charge. We had a very nice room with a huge separate "bathroom suite" that included a sunken bathtub. We did not care about a view, and there was a small alleyway between us and the next building, which was good - we like quiet, especially when you are going to bed early and getting up at 4:00 a.m. for a major race. Free wifi worked great. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was very comfortable.

Review 118:The staff seemed to be a little confused, but were nice. We checked in at 7:00PM but our room wasn't ready??? So, we had to wait. Front desk person was confused when I ordered coffee and hot water from room service early in the morning.

Review 119:Room was nice and bed was comfortable. The hotel is beautiful and classy with nice decor.

Review 120:While I realize it is an old hotel, our room looked a bit worn, carpeting frayed, and numerous "scars" throughout the room. Drapes were visibly dirty . However, the bathroom was spotless.

Review 121:The service/courtesy/attention to every detail was excellent. As a mature couple, we appreciated the entire staff's friendliness and personal service. We will stay again!

Review 122:Very dated furnishings and decor in room Inefficient bathroom/vanity design Dog behind registration desk when we checked in

Review 123:Dinner at the Palace Restaurant
