Reviews for Paramount Hotel

Review 1:Perfect location, friendly and helpful staff, very clean. We arrived at the hotel way before check in time (around 9am) and we were able to check into our room which was great after travelling as it allowed us to freshen up before a long day sightseeing. This was a nice touch by the hotel

Review 2:The double bed was two single beds next to each other Not comfortable :-(

Review 3:Friendly staff, spacious double room, perfectly located next to temple bar and all the monuments

Review 4:My first night room needed some tlc..hence the request to move. Even so, was spotless :-)

Review 5:Wonderful hotel staff..couldn't do enough for me during my stay! Requested better room for 2nd night and wasn't disappointed! Hotel full of character :-)

Review 6:Unfortunately the bed was not comfortable. Asked for double room and they joined 2 twin mattresses together. The edges of the mattresses kept bruising us.

Review 7:Location and pricing is unbeatable. Staff were great as they did their best to accommodate my requests.

Review 8:Beds weren't very comfy. Room temperature was extremely hot considering it was December had the windows open constantly, radiator was temperamental. Lighting in the room was very very poor

Review 9:Great location for temple bar. Good room size

Review 10:Room wasn't overly warm and the showers were luke warm or cold so not enough hot water.

Review 11:Central location, helpful staff, free wifi. Value for money good at time of year.

Review 12:Hotel room is looking very tired. Worn appearance of furniture, black mold on the bathroom ceiling, noisy extractor fan, two blow light bulbs (one on the balcony & room wall light), room very warm, even with the radiator turned down. Window wouldn't stay open.

Review 13:Location & price paid for room.

Review 14:Parking location was offsite (approx 6mins walk) and associated with another hotel. The additional cost with hotel discount was not unreasonable for parking overnight at this location in the city, but it was also not highlighted when making the booking. Facilities were old but clean.

Review 15:Location. Staff were both helpful and respectful

Review 16:The room was really hot! Better to be hot than cold, but the window wouldn't stay open so we couldn't get any fresh air.

Review 17:The staff were really nice, friendly and helpful. The hotel was within walking distance of loads of pubs, restaurants and places of interest.

Review 18:Location of hotel was central to bars and shopping. Hotel bedroom was very comfortable and staff helpful. Cooked breakfast was very good. No complaints.

Review 19:Carpet in hallway appeared a little worn.

Review 20:Friendly staff, good breakfast, brilliant location, clean and spacious room. Definitely recommend and would stay again. There was a little noise from outside but that was expected given the location and did not impact on our stay at all!

Review 21:Breakfast could of done with some black and white pudding

Review 22:Great location lovely staff and hotel would recommend .. Couldn't do enough for you would stay here again

Review 23:The bed was a little lumpy and the overall decoration of the room could do with some refreshment

Review 24:The location was excellent for the activities we had planned.

Review 25:we had a room with 3 single beds but only 1 chair an extra chair would be nice,

Review 26:Great location, Staff are always friendly and helpful rooms are very clean

Review 27:Nightclub blasting music until 3am on Friday and Saturday in the bar/restaurant of the hotel. We were on the 3rd floor and could hear it loudly. Felt bad for anyone trying to sleep on a lower floor. Bed was hard, one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept on.

Review 28:Room was nice, hotel was in a great location.

Review 29:The heater was too much strong, the wifi was regular, not good, and the room was not sound isolated, we could hear the entire corridor.

Review 30:Location is gorgeous. Room is comfortable, just need small repairs.

Review 31:The only suggestion I would make would be better lighting. Our room was a bit dark for even packing!

Review 32:This was a clean, well- furnished hotel with friendly staff and great location. I would recommend it to friends.

Review 33:This hotel is in an area the a lot of bars and restaurants which makes it very loud.

Review 34:The room was big for a single person. The bathroom was spacious the a big tub/shower. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They lent me a power adapter when mine didn't work and called me a taxi for my flight at 3am.

Review 35:This hotel was perfect for us great location as we were staying the weekend and running the Dublin marathon. The staff were very friendly, nice and helpful. The hotel is on the edge of temple bar with easy access to plenty shops round about for whatever you need. I would definitely book here again. There was a party of 5 of us and no one had any complaints..... apart for the weather.

Review 36:A bit noisy. You can hear sounds from the other rooms and even on the 4th floor you can still hear the music from the bar on the ground floor.

Review 37:Well located, easy access to transports and all the major attractions. Nice and helpfull staff.

Review 38:The breakfast was not really good, there are way better places around the corner. As said it is a bit run-down, eg wallpaper comes a bit off the wall or you just see that the bathroom has not been renovated for quite a few years. Anyhow clean.

Review 39:Perfect location in Dublin's centre, close to Temple Bar and other sights. Relatively quiet. Rooms were big and comfy although a bit run-down, anyhow good value for money.

Review 40:It was a little bit noisy at night because of the clubs nearby, but nothing too bad!

Review 41:The breakfast was a great start to the day! The location of the hotel was perfect as it was easy to get around to the shops, etc.

Review 42:The water in the sink takes ages to flow through warm, shower could do with being warmer.

Review 43:Excellent location right by the River Liffey. Hotel was perfect and free wifi which was nice and quick.

Review 44:The nightclub could be heard until 3am on Wednesday and Thursday.

Review 45:The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was lovely. The room was very comfortable.

Review 46:Right on the edge of Temple Bar area. Chose top floor room to try and minimise noise but room very hot so had to have window open and that meant it was very noisy until early hours of the morning

Review 47:Lovely staff

Review 48:Don't book in this hotel if you are bothered very much by the street noise, because it is noisy, but if you book at this area you need to know it is in the heart of Temple Bar which is known for very activ night life in every sigle night from week.We had our room on the 3rd flloor, with opened window the noise from outside was tolerable.

Review 49:Excellent location, lovely room with very comfortable bed, kettle and coffee/tea in room included in price, spacious bathroom.

Review 50:Double bed was two pushed together with a big hard connection and gap in the middle. Too noise outside on an evening until early mornings due to area

Review 51:Our room.was a bit noisy around 6am if we had the window open, but because of the location it couldn't be helped, I'm sure every hotel in Dublin has the same issue

Review 52:Fab location, nice room, large bathroom, good breakfast

Review 53:Ground floor is a night club so my room was vibrating and couldn't sleep well into early hours. Then finally fell asleep was awoken at 6:45 by hotel staff making as much noise as possible throwing things onto a metal trolley.

Review 54:Allowed me a late check out as I'd had so little sleep!

Review 55:Curtains didn't meeting middle, big gap where beds were joined, water warmish at best for Bath and shower. Noisy, but this was location, not hotel problem. Paint peeling of walls.

Review 56:Central, staff nice.

Review 57:The noise from the club downstairs went on late into the night. Not great when you are running a marathon the next day!

Review 58:This hotel is in a central location and in walking distance from all attractions. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough for us. Good breakfast too!

Review 59:Some might say the decoration is starting to fade about the edges a little, but that would be nit-picking. As for street noise, it's in Temple Bar, so it's what you should expect. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you're a very light sleeper.

Review 60:Great location in Temple Bar area, clean and comfortable, with good staff and WiFi. Breakfast was fine and the adjoining bar is pretty lively too.

Review 61:We arrived on a Sunday and were pretty tired however the bars outside did not let out till 3 and the bar on the first floor player awful techno music that had the bass pumping from 2-230am. Then there were people yelling on the street below. I recommend eating out for breakfast down the street at the stage door cafe.

Review 62:The location was key. The beds were nice and the pillows comfy.

Review 63:Toilet in bathroom ridiculously low. No plug sockets beside bed. Wheelchair access at main entrance very difficult.

Review 64:Staff, location, comfortable bed.

Review 65:The location is wonderful, the staff super professional and friendly. We were celebrating our anniversary and they upgrade us to a great room with a balcony! Would definitely go back!

Review 66:One of our rooms was next door to the hotel lift which woke one of our party up a few times. Also our bed was long enough my feet stook out of the end.

Review 67:The hotel was in a excellent location minutes from the bars and shops.

Review 68:Our room overlooked the street across from the Czech Inn, which was noisy until 1 AM, and then noisy again at 5 AM when they picked up the kegs/rubbish from the night before. We may have asked to be relocated, but we were only there one night, so not a huge problem.

Review 69:Fairly elegant older facility, staff was terrific, room comfortable, location convenient to Temple Bar and Old Town pubbing/touring areas.

Review 70:Noise from the street, even at fifth floor. But this is not the hotels fault as located at Temple Bar. It only affected one night of the three we stayed. To be fair, I requested an upper floor, which I was given, plus on this occasion a balcony, which was a lovely bonus.

Review 71:This hotel is very understated, but really comfortable. I like it because it's not brash and does not try to do too much.

Review 72:The only complaint I had was that the cleaning staff started really early and woke us up around 6.30am outside the room, but otherwise everything was perfect.

Review 73:Great location, very helpful, friendly staff and loved the huge bed! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, overall a great stay and would definitely return!

Review 74:Wifi was free but unpredictable.

Review 75:The location was excellent, within walking distance of main sights, although the revelry at night in the Temple Bar district can be loud. Reception staff was great and helpful. Room was large by European standards; beds were comfortable.

Review 76:Parking was tricky, but that's Dublin and we were grateful they offered a garage nearby. Somehow, even with the discounted hotel ticket though, the garage still cost us 19 euros for a total of 17 hours parking :-(

Review 77:Warm welcome, fantastic location that was right in Temple Bar yet somehow still quiet sleeping on a Thursday night, even though our room faced the main street.

Review 78:The Paramount provides the perfect location for visiting almost everything in Dublin. Rooms are beautifully decorated and full of special touches such as coffee and tea making, toiletries, towel warmer, trouser press, big desk. Excellent, helpful front desk staff couldn't do enough for us.

Review 79:Lots of street noise and the wifi access was poor. Rooms could do with an upgrade possibly as well

Review 80:Good location in Temple Bar district with accommodating staff at a good price

Review 81:Area was a bit seedy but we didn't stay out late and it wasn't a problem. It was fast to get to it from a busy street so we never felt uneasy.

Review 82:It was comfortable and very quiet. Staff was nice and the hotel was clean. We were out and about early each morning so we didn't eat there. Liked that it has an elevator.

Review 83:Not a serious problem at all and I am picky, but wish a kettle in the room was washed just a bit more.

Review 84:Nice, polite, helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable and tidy room. Location.

Review 85:The rooms were too hot and couldn't sleep at night due to air conditioning unit outside our room which sounded like a helicopter, we had to close the window to stop the noise but it was too hot.

Review 86:Great location to all the bars and pubs and shopping, staff couldn't help us enough, rooms are nice and clean, hotel is a really nice place.

Review 87:The pillows were a bit flat and hard. The dull thumping noise from the pub was a bit annoying late at night. These were minor issues for us.

Review 88:The location was perfect for walking to many attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although the room was a bit dated it was clean and spacious.

Review 89:The rooms could do with an iron and more plugs,as girls we quickly ran out of the couple of plugs.

Review 90:Was a great hotel for the price we paid. Lovely big rooms and a nice interior. Much better than we expected.

Review 91:The parking situation is horrendous. It took us 2 hours to park, because the parking lot was so difficult to find. The hotel should offer to send someone with you to find the parking, and to find your way back to the hotel, as it is not clearly marked, there are no visible street signs, and it is very easy to end up in the "wrong" car lot. The room is small, with only one hard chair at the desk.

Review 92:The bed was super comfortable and the wifi worked well in the room. The location is within walking distance to all of Temple Bar district and just a short distance across the bridge to O'Connell Street.

Review 93:Worn furniture. Cut out patched carpet in room. Strange, jimmy-rigged shower/tub combo.

Review 94:Location to sites, airlink and Hop On Hop Off. Coffee in room. Large room with good storage.

Review 95:Noice of kegs being delivered and 5 am! Different room would prob have solved that though so can't really complain.

Review 96:Location and value couldn't really be beat.

Review 97:Wifi could have been better. Connection only on lobby or restaurant. The signal did reach the room but was not very fast. Outside of this everything was perfect

Review 98:Friendly and helpful staff, great location, comfortable big rooms and very clean

Review 99:Yes, there was a safety box, after we asked for it, but it was loose and anyone could have carried it away with him. Rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy during weekend nights.

Review 100:Good location close to nightlife. Nice room with big bathroom.

Review 101:Because of the location it was slightly noisy late at night, but would not put us off booking hotel again

Review 102:Hotel very staff very friendly, hotel in a fantastic location for bars, restaurants and shops

Review 103:We were on a overnight business trip and struggled with the noise and disruption from the bar emptying onto the street in the early hours of the morning. Very noisy and little sleep. Also the beds were quite uncomfortable.

Review 104:Staff could not have been more helpful

Review 105:The bed was horrendously hard and uncomfortable. Very, very noisy location with the hotel allowing very late drinking/club in the hotel.

Review 106:The Staff were fantastic. Very friendly, helpful and professional. The room was spacious.

Review 107:Some very dodgy people around Essex Street/Fishamble Stree at night. Cow's Lane closed as it was a crime scene.

Review 108:Location was on the edge of Temple Bar area so not too busy.

Review 109:The WiFi internet service was not reliable. Sometimes one computer would stop working while the other continued to work then both quit. Outages would last for several minutes or longer but on the plus side it got us out of the room.

Review 110:The service was great! We asked for ice buckets many times during our stay and they always sent them up right away. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good.

Review 111:Finding the Hotel entrance was tricky and a simple sign pointing you around the side of the building would have been appreciated.

Review 112:Good location, close to temple bar and easy walking distance to the shops. Decent sized room with king size bed and large bathroom with a fantastic power shower. The Hotel/public bar is worth a visit! Will definitely visit again.

Review 113:We could not get wifi in our room and had to sit in the lobby which was quite annoying and the pillows were very uncomfortable and need replacing.

Review 114:The location is excellent and central to most things. The staff were pleasant and the hotel was nice.

Review 115:Room was very basic but chances are you're not going to spend a lot of time in it, worth the money for location alone.

Review 116:Location was amazing, around the corner from temple bar, grafton street and castle, and short walk to bus stops for zoo and airport.

Review 117:Central Hotel located right in the heart of Dublin, everything is within walking distance including the zoo approximately 30 minutes away! Staff were excellent allowing us to check-in early at 10am & recommended the Queen of Tarts for breakfast (30 seconds from the Hotel).

Review 118:The floor squeaked but then again, it is an old building. The dead bolt on our door didn't work.

Review 119:The location was the best thing. It is very close to everything, including the Airlink to and from the airport. Staff were friendly and helpful. Being located very close to Temple Bar, I expected it to be noisy but it wasn't.

Review 120:Nothing to report

Review 121:We arrived early (9.30am) and the check in staff held our bags, told us our room would be ready in 30mins and directed us to a lovely cafe where we could get breakfast whilst we waited. Upon our return we were directed to our room, which was spacious for a twin room with a good sized bathroom. Every interaction with the staff was met with friendliness, knowledge and professionalism. I would definitely stay here again!

Review 122:The bed was quite hard, although I still had a pretty good sleep.

Review 123:The hotel was a little hard to find, but it was in a great location, really close to most of the main sights. The staff were great, particularly the woman who checked us in on July 30th and the gentleman who came with us to show us where the car park was...excellent service!

Review 124:The extra charges, i.e Bottled water in the room, which if you drink will cost you 2,50. The room could do with a bit of redecoration, and an update.

Review 125:The staff in all areas of the hotel were lovely and friendly. Everything was very efficient!

Review 126:We've stayed in Dublin loads of times but this was our first stay in city centre. Brilliant location. Would definitely recommend. Breakfast was delicious.

Review 127:Overall the hotel standard corresponds to a 3-star hotel rather than 4. A bit oldish, renovation would help. No hair-dryer in the bathroom, the trousers "iron" in the room did not work and there were bed bugs! Not much comfortable for a business stay.

Review 128:Location

Review 129:No free parking space. (15€ for 24 hours) We booked two bedrooms for the same price but one was a lot better than the other one (a lot bigger, better facilities and the other one very smelly - fast food smell from the window). Best thing about breakfast was the staff, they were very kind but the breakfast is poor comparing to the money you pay.

Review 130:Great location. Most of the staff were very nice, specially at breakfast they were excellent, proactive, smiling all the time. Rooms are old but very comfortable, clean and with all the facilities. Free wifi working perfectly.

Review 131:The Wifi didn't work in my room it only worked in the lobby, barely. The best signal I got was at the bar. I saw the noisy complaints about the noise from other reviewers before I booked and I knew the location as I had been to Dublin before. I knew what I was getting myself into, but was able to sleep through most of the late night/early morning partying.

Review 132:Really great location for walking all over North and South sides of Dublin. It was a little difficult for the cabbie to find so I had to use my gps to help him. The Turks Head bar downstairs has great staff!

Review 133:We liked everything. Location was perfect, people at the reception were very welcoming and friendly, the room was big and clean with everything we needed in it. Thank you! We enjoyed our stay and will come back to Dublin!

Review 134:Unfortunately the beds were not that comfortable, but well ...

Review 135:The people at the reception were really nice and helpful. Although there is a night club downstairs and the hotel is close to temple bar there were no noise issues or anything. From this hotel you don't need public transport, you can walk everywhere!

Review 136:The room was not cleaned very well-the floors in the bathrooms had hair and grime on them when we got there and it remained there until we left. The rooms are older but manageable, but overall not cleaned enough.

Review 137:This was a great location!!! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!

Review 138:Although good to have small terrace area it was quite grubby and table was worn and rickety. Room quite dark and not as modern as pictures give impression of. Quite a bit of street noise dispite being top floor.

Review 139:Bed was comfy, room and bathroom spacious. Good central location.

Review 140:Very helpful and knowledgable staff, the reception staff stored our luggage on our last day so that we could go and enjoy a few more hours in town before heading to the airport. Amazing breakfast, again extremely helpful staff who were quick to accomodate my dietary requirements! Very happy overall.
