Reviews for Garfield Suites Hotel
Review 1:We had no heat called they sent someone but they could not fix. Called again said they would send blankets they did not. Had to sleep in clothes
Review 2:Location
Review 3:Worn and a little dirty. It's reached the point that the rooms are aged and no amount of cleaning can fix how used and dirty they seem. Sticky, old carpet. The bar left a lot to be desired.
Review 4:The location, front desk, and value are unbeatable!
Review 5:I didnt like the t.v.'s that are in the bedrooms. they need to be updated.
Review 6:i love the spacious room the unit had and that it has 2 separate bedrooms.
Review 7:Rooms a little older and tv in bedroom old
Review 8:Location to stadium was good but my son was just out of cast and walk was tough. Hotel value very good and will stay again next year.
Review 9:No ice available, waiting for freezer. Beds are uncomfortable, too soft and wore out. Flat screens only available in living room and not in bedrooms
Review 10:I like the way the room is set up. And location of hotel
Review 11:Staff was super friendly and it took less than 5 minutes to check in. I also liked the price. And the location. I don't know if the cafe is affiliated with the hotel, but the breakfast I ordered was excellent.
Review 12:Carpet in main hall loose and bubbled up.Hallway door to room paint scratched off, carpet felt unclean, sink sprayed water. Overall unclassy feeling.
Review 13:It was close to our venue, staff pleasant and helpful.
Review 14:There was no on site parking, bell boy just opens the door for you. No assistance with our luggage. Elevators were very slow. Room was dated esp. the bathroom. Kitchen has no start up supplies, like coffee for the coffee pot. Strange smell near the bar/restaurant.
Review 15:Convenient.
Review 16:Not the most Glamorous, but the rooms were spacious and super comfortable to travel with a group of people. I went to a Cubs game, and I would stay here again! Close to Kentucky nightlife, just an Uber ride away.
Review 17:The furnishing were horrible. Holes in all curtains, large rips in the chair, large hole on closet ceiling, water damage on ceiling, lopsided bed with big downhill slant, very outdated air system so bedrooms were too hot while living room was freezing. No utensils, pans or any dishes in kitchen. Freezer did not freeze. Couldn't connect to internet. Couch didn't fold out as promised, had to get a cot. Scuffed up walls and long outdated look.
Review 18:Most staff were friendly. Generally clean. Very good shower.
Review 19:Everything we needed was in walking distance. We were here for the Cubs game. This hotel was excellent. I loved our room. Not a great view, but so comfortable. It was like being at home.
Review 20:extremely outdated and "old" but must have been amazing "IN IT'S DAY"
Review 21:great location, close to I-75, great views from the balcony, extremely spacious
Review 22:The one thing that was probably the worst turn off for the whole stay is that it started raining when we got back from our event and our room started to flood from the ceiling. I called to address the concern of which no one came so I ended up going down to the front desk. After spending over 2 hrs. trying to get this resolved and wanting to go to bed, I was handed some towels. I was asked if I wanted to change rooms but I declined because the others in my group were already asleep. The next morning we weren't apologized to or even given some type of reimbursement for the trouble.
Review 23:What I liked most about my stay was the fact that it was close to the concert we were attending at Paul Brown Stadium which was great to not be stuck in traffic. The free shuttle service took us over but we had to walk back 9 blocks, still not too bad. The Suite was rather spacious which was nice but a little out-dated and could have been cleaner. Great food at the restaurant also.
Review 24:Everything in the room was really old. Beds were not comfortable. We had 5 people in the apartment and thought we would receive an extra bed. No, fifth person had to sleep in a sofa bed that provided absolutely no comfort at all. And the fridge was so old that it would make a LOT of noise. That plus the loud music they play in the hall 24/7 (still don't understand why) made it near impossible for that person to have a good night of sleep. Breakfast not included. They have only two elevators. When checking out we had to wait a loooong time to find some space in an elevator. It was very annoying.
Review 25:Staff is VERY nice. Location is excellent as you can get anywhere in downtown by foot.
Review 26:The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, beds comfortable and the kitchen was convenient with a full size fridge and microwave. The location and value was excellent for downtown Cincinnati
Review 27:I did not care for the decor or cleaniness of the suite. I think for the price they charge, their rooms need some serious updating. Check in was a very long wait. Several guests trying to check in and they only had one staff member to help guests. I would not stay at Garfield Inn ever again.
Review 28:The bathroom and kitchen were dirty. Mold was growing on the ceiling of the bathroom. The cups still had coffee grounds in them.
Review 29:We were up on the 14th floor and had a nice view. Close to inexpensive parking.
Review 30:A little dated, as mentioned, but well maintained. For the value, we found it very comfortable.
Review 31:It was close to everything downtown, and by close I mean walkable. We were there to see the Reds. The GS was ideally located. Knock Back Nats was a great pre and post game spot a block away. Fountain Square was two blocks away so my parents, both older, enjoyed the easy walk and the variety of vendors. On Monday, local businesses setup booths; "Cheesecake on a Stick'", and some awesome Mexican and pulled-pork BBQ. Enjoyed the value and the location.
Review 32:The garage was quite a winding walk ! We found out at checkout we could have had our parking ticket punched and it would have allowed in and out access all day!
Review 33:Room (especially bathrooms) dirty. Beds very old, uncomfortable. Refridgerator door did would not shut completely. Talked to other guests at hotel who shared similar complaints (bad mattresses, dirty)
Review 34:Friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant food good at reasonable prices. Good location.
Review 35:The room was out of date but with some work could have a nostalgic feel. I loved all the extra space.
Review 36:I liked the location and the staff was very helpful.
Review 37:I have stayed here before and enjoyed. But this particular night the other guests on our floor made nonstop noise. We did call the front desk, but the noise never stopped. It was impossible to sleep.
Review 38:The rooms/suites are really showing their age. The owners should either put some serious reno money into this place or sell out to someone who will. There are far too many other, much nicer places in downtown Cincy to justify staying here.
Review 39:The Cafe Martin was a great little place to grab a bite to eat.
Review 40:check in time is at 3 p.m. I was not allowed to check into my room until 6 there was a lot before the angry customer the reason we were given is because it was short staff on the cleanup crew and there were no towels in the sheets for the bed we were given the manager's phone number but she never answer and never replied people are cancelling the reservations and going to other hotels this is a very bad experience horrible customer service
Review 41:Ron, Courtney and Britany all front desk staff did there best in a horrible situation.
Review 42:They gave me entrance to an already occupied room! I could have stolen everything in the room? There response - - "oh really, that shouldn't have happened"!
Review 43:After our complaint/issue they upgraded without request; although they knew I was not happy.
Review 44:the decor could be updated ...however we weren't there for the room decor
Review 45:2 br and 1.5 bath! awesome space...nice kitchen with all the necessities....
Review 46:Everything's a bit tired. Should be turned back into an apartment building after a serious renovation.su
Review 47:Nice, helpful staff. Safe location in downtown Cincinnati.
Review 48:The room could have used some maintenance and the bed was small and uncomfortable.
Review 49:The staff was friendly and really helpful! The location was perfect! We were there celebrating our 25th anniversary and whe having a couple of drinks in the onsite restaurant the general manager bought our drinks for us!
Review 50:Due to refrigerator condition, carpet was wet in hall behind it. Air conditioner didn't work at first. It was repaired but took long time for room to recover to normal temperature.
Review 51:Spacious rooms with balcony. Staff was very nice.
Review 52:Everything was a bit outdated like 1970s old apartment, but it was certainly usable and we didn't really care. But don't expect a renovated hotel.
Review 53:Location was fantastic. Came to Cincinnati for Flying Pig Marathon weekend and LOVED having a kitchen. The staff was great, parking was $6 day for the garage right next to the hotel. Was walking distance to everything including the races. Will stay again next year.
Review 54:The first room was not in the best conditions. Plaster falling off the ceiling.
Review 55:When I had a problem with the first room.. I was quickly moved to another.
Review 56:Entered my room to old balloons floating around ceiling. Living room walls were cracked and peeling...bedroom ceiling and walls over window, drywall broken, completely exposed.
Review 57:I very much appreciated the free shuttle to church and other downtown areas.
Review 58:No negatives.
Review 59:There were no negatives. We were going to the theater and it was within walking distance and convenient. There were also several great places to eat all within the area. Parking was great, convenient, and reasonable.
Review 60:The room could have used some upgrades...the floor boards in the bathroom had holes in them and the toilet was not attached to floor good. The hallways had an awful smell.
Review 61:The location and staff.
Review 62:The pillows were lumpy and very uncomfortable. The room was average, nothing great for the price. I expected it to be nicer.
Review 63:The hotel did have wifi. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Good location. There was a get-together that had free appetizers and beverages.
Review 64:the outdated furniture
Review 65:I took my two children and my husband to the aquarium we had a wonderful stay at the hotel room my children will never forget their experience they even made a short video giving a tour of the hotel since it was so nice
Review 66:Not the most current interior design, but clean and tidy!
Review 67:I did get an upgrade to a double because of overbooking for singles, but I felt like I needed to call people to help me use the space! Staff is friendly and efficient.
Review 68:Shady parking area, no sounds isolation, barely any hot water, 30 year old outdated furniture/fixtures, extremely uncomfortable bed, etc...
Review 69:Nothing
Review 70:I had no bad experiences.
Review 71:I was staying because of the concert for the evening. I loved the fact that they had a shuttle to transport back and forth. The room I had was a double suite and it was plenty of space for everyone. I loved it.
Review 72:Outdated
Review 73:Beds were comfortable. It was great to see the beds had bed bug covers on them. Shower was great with long lasting hot water. For the money would like to see some upgrades but that's minor. Great hotel
Review 74:I liked the hotel the 2 room suite is huge and more th an enough room for a longer stay. having a balcony in the 11th floor was fantastic. I will stay here again for sure. the only thing was I did not specify that I wanted a pull out couch which I wanted and assumed came with the room. it does not.
Review 75:Completely neglected. Description says fully furnished kitchen, but not the case. Not enough cutlery or dinnerware to be enough for half the people that could stay in the suite. Really run down and dirty. Found a dirty underware in one of the drawers.
Review 76:Location is amazing, and the space for the suites are wonderful, not cramped. Parking garage is easily accessible and reasonable.
Review 77:The rooms were very out dated and need an update. this would not be where i would want to stay if I was spending a lot of time in my room, but for our visit it worked out well. we were just looking for a place to crash after a long day
Review 78:The value for the money was great. We rented a 2 bedroom room for 2 couples and it worked out great. Good location to downtown.
Review 79:The rooms could be a little updated. For example flat screen tvs would be nice.
Review 80:The size of the suite was very nice. We had plenty of space. The location is perfect for downtown. Awesome to have a shuttle to the Casino!!
Review 81:Location was fantastic. We caught the shuttle to the Bengels game and just walked back. Loved the staff too. Great concierge. I got an upgrade to a penthouse b/c it was the same price! And there are free bags of ice, no gross ice machines. It was a great stay. No complaints!!!
Review 82:Parking and checking in was a little confusing.
Review 83:My room was laid out like an apartment, which was awesome for me and my friend who snores! Loved the kitchen, and beds were comfy! Had a flat and valet (johnnie?) helped us! So sweet!
Review 84:location of parking deck dated rooms bathroom had mold in ceiling from inadequate ventilation
Review 85:excellent staff free shuttle clean close to everything down town excellent value for the money
Review 86:Found dirty towels in bathroom closet, wallpaper falling off walls, and carpet was wavey. Tried to use the range to make eggs and biscuits, and found it would not work. Tried to reset the circuit breaker and found it was locked off. Would have like to have had a heads up before I went to grocery store.
Review 87:We needed 2 seperate bedrooms, I did like that. Also needed kitchen
Review 88:Wifi spread poor; when it worked. They need good pillows these where lumpy and non supportive. Handicap shower made a swamp on bathroom floor after every shower. Found out when I checked out not all rooms are handicap accessible
Review 89:Staff very friendly. I parked my car and used the hotel shuttle to see the museum. Very close to Over the Rhine, and Fountain Square
Review 90:Upon checking in we were upgraded to a master suite. It was a two level room with 1-1/2 baths and an outdoor patio. also the self park garage is connected with a walkway and is only $6.00 a day. Very friendly and helpful staff. They also have a free shuttle van.
Review 91:The bed was on the floor, with a picture above it. There was no bed frame or headboard.
Review 92:The staff catered to our needs. And the willingness to transport us was great. The layout of the room was awesome.
Review 93:This hotel was great, we had no complaints at all. The value for the room size we had was great, it was a two bedroom suite with a kitchen and living room so we had TONS of room. You can't beat that for the price we paid. Everything was clean (except for a Reese Cup behind the air conditioner lol) and we will definitely visit again!!!
Review 94:The mattress needs an upgrade. I could feel the springs.
Review 95:The staff and very nice and helpful. The location is great: close to some good bars/restaurants
Review 96:I liked pretty much everything. It is a little worn and there didn't seem to be a grocery store handy. That would have been nice since I didn't have a car. But on the whole, I can't complain much.
Review 97:I liked the location just a couple of blocks from meetings I was attending and very reasonable. Very friendly staff. Just like an apartment. Lots of space..even a nice touch..a door bell! When I had a couple of hours, they ran me to the Cincinnati Museum of Art which is great and came and picked me up. Great service!
Review 98:Someone needs to buy that hotel and rehab the interior. Stuck in the eighties and not as clean as it should be, especially the bathrooms. A coat of paint on the walls would also be a good idea. Everything is a little beat up. Someone buy this property and save it from the wrecking ball.
Review 99:I really liked the staff. They were helpful and gave free coupons for local area restaurants. This hotel is close to so many local restaurants, Over The Rhine area, and Mt. Adams. A lot within walking distance. We were upgraded to the top floor and the views over the city were beautiful.
Review 100:Rain came into my room, room felt moldy, dirty, old furniture and carpet. Fuse box that couldn't be closed at eye level-first thing to see when going in room. Slow internet.
Review 101:rooms a bit dated, but everything was there, and it all worked
Review 102:room spacious bed comfortable efficient air conditioning room clean central location breakfast/snack bar good and not expensive staff very helpful
Review 103:Noisy area-heard all outdoor noises and hallway/elevator noises; room was not like online pictures showed; room was VERY outdated; spider webs in corners; carpet in hall by elevator and in room pulled away terribly from padding; walls filthy-paint chipped and needs replaced as well as carpet; bathroom too small to share; black mold around smoke detector; exhaust fan in bathroom covered in dust and did not work; air in room inconsistent with bedroom; stinky like sewage; over priced ; we live 3 and a half hours away and it was too late to drive home or get our money back so we stayed. Terrible experience though. Unbelievable!
Review 104:When you sat on the sofa you could see a puff of dust fly into the air. I am allergic to dust ended up with a sinus infection. Beds were not too good, felt like springs in your back, but the rest of the place was awesome.
Review 105:I love that the bedrooms were separated with a common area living/dining area. Loved the kitchen.Loved the free shuttle and the location to sights downtown.
Review 106:Very, very dated WiFi was very weak Sheets had holes in them Feltcold, hollow Shower curtain was torn/frayed Hallway smelled like asweaty gym
Review 107:Seemed clean
Review 108:Wi Fi signal was fair. Pool is at the YMCA. Work out area was small with limited space and equipment.
Review 109:Good location a few blocks from our destination. Price was excellent for a suite. Nice bar restaurant main floor. All employees were friendly, professional and courteous.
Review 110:outdated kitchen, inaccurate info given by shuttle driver, front desk not overly enthuisiastic
Review 111:location, room size, free shuttle, on site food and lounge, parking
Review 112:dirty outdated hotel, long, creepy walk from parking garage, mold on ceiling over shower, when walked into room it smelled REALLY bad, floor appeared stained and dirty
Review 113:I'm afraid the only complaint I have is that the wifi wasn't very good. I was next to the gym and could only get 1 bar.
Review 114:Everything! It was a wonderful suprise to find out we had been upgraded to a penthouse suite. The livingroom was comfortable, bedrooms were great, kitchen was a little small, but not something we needed anyways. Staff was wonderfully plesent and the hotel was within walking distance of a lot of attractions.
Review 115:Neighborhood was sketchy, people loitering close to entrance of hotel
Review 116:Proximity to Great American Ballpark Staff was amazing! Loved having driver available Reception drinks/food very nice touch!
Review 117:There was no pool, and the parking garage was a block away. That is OK in good weather, but in inclemate weather, it could be a problem.
Review 118:The hotel was very conveniently located for what we wanted to do. It was easy to find, also. We were able to walk to museums, restaurants, shopping, and the Great America ballpark.
Review 119:worst bed we've sleep on in years, both me and my wife left with back problems.
Review 120:the food in the restaurant was great.
Review 121:The staff at the desk and in the restaurant couldn't be any nicer! They're also very accommodating.
Review 122:Traffic noise
Review 123:Wonderful suite of rooms, although a little old fashioned
Review 124:Ran out of hot water after only one person took shower. Rooms old and outdated. Tv in one bedroom did not work
Review 125:Set up of rooms
Review 126:Restaurant, bar, location, staff
Review 127:Loved everything!!!!!

Review 129:Needs updated Old Tver Beds not comfortable
Review 130:Price
Review 131:Parking facility is poor
Review 132:Great staff. Rooms are huge.
Review 133:Slow elevator! Loud party with young people on my floor and on the floors below me.
