Reviews for Hyatt Regency Austin
Review 1:when i checked in they had that i was supposed to be there the day before but my confirmation was correct. not sure why that happened! and the room was not ready but they gave me a complimentary breakfast to compensate.
Review 2:great treadmill with program to walk through the Grand Canyon! room was decorated very nice!
Review 3:The $10 margarita was weak, a glass packed tightly to the top with ice and a sour watery mix. No hint of tequila.
Review 4:Rooms recently remodeled in a very modern-day design. Right on the lake & hike and bike trail with a great view of downtown Austin from the back patio & bar. All of the staff was friendly and responsive.
Review 5:Had some problems with getting in and out of garage. Staff was very helpful. Management acknowledged and gave free breakfast. Customer service appreciated!!
Review 6:Not a bad experience but thought the bathroom was too small since it was a double room. Wonderful
Review 7:Staff, comfortable bed, location, beautiful view from room, cleanliness
Review 8:That two other men checked in during the time I was still being checked-in. Seems through Booking.com things got complicated. That all the doors to the rooms face each other in a huge open attrium.
Review 9:Great view and stylish room
Review 10:took too long to bring sheets to room that I checked in at midnight and was so tired... but at least I got a room. It was the shared living area between two room, but there were no sheets for the the pull out bed.
Review 11:location
Review 12:All of the noise that was going on around 1 am on Saturday night
Review 13:The location was good. The hotel was very nice but I have stayed in just as nice hotels for far less money
Review 14:We had a room with gorgeous view of the river and the city. The restaurant had good food. The staff was friendly. The gym was nice. Free wi-fi. Starbucks inside. The trail to walk along the riverbank was cool. We also rented hydrobikes right by the hotel, really fun.
Review 15:All was good. But, pricey. Need to give seniors a break - we are 81 years old. We have a younger son, daughter-in-law and three young grandchildren now living in Austin. This was our second stay at the Hyatt (last time in May 2015). We will be back in Austin two more times in next 8 months. We like and prefer the Hyatt but may try an Air B&B next time because of cost.
Review 16:The room was fine. We had no real issues, but we did eat dinner in the bar one night and it took a VERY long time for the food to arrive. Rico, the food services manager was wonderful and got that straightened out, and was also a great help with some questions we had regarding the billing for the room. He is a valuable asset to the hotel!
Review 17:We were not able to sleep past 8am because construction noises in the hotel, which were very loud, began very early in the morning. We are not sure we would have stayed here if we had known they were in the middle of remodeling since we had hoped to sleep in just a bit while on vacation.
Review 18:Our room was great. Comfortable beds and the staff was pleasant.
Review 19:After checking in to our room, we found a towel that had been left on the floor behind the chair. The maid never did find that towel, as it was still there upon checkout 2 days later. I even moved the chair so they would see it next time they cleaned. We definitely weren't touching it! That's just gross.
Review 20:Lobby food/bar food was pricey and restaurant breakfast service was slow. But the food was of great quality.
Review 21:Love the location and lobby food/bar service. Terrific, friendly staff, and the remodel on the rooms is first rate. Ongoing construction didn't diminish the experience.
Review 22:What I didn't know until check in was that the hotel is under construction. There were many angry guests in the lobby. Construction noise started early, around 7:30, and continued throughout the day. Not much relaxing can happen when you hear hammering and jackhammers.
Review 23:Great staff and location!
Review 24:I really liked the service and hotel setting. Staff was really nice and accommodating. Thank you so much. This will be my go to hotel when i am in Austin.
Review 25:Alcoholic drinks did not have much alcohol. Never had such a weak scotch and water--no color. Margarita was also unacceptable. We took our own drinks to the sushi bar and was escorted (with our food) back to our room. In front of your staff I spilled a glass of wine. Should have left me alone with my food and drink by the sushi bar!
Review 26:The swimming pool. Glad to have a safe and refrigerator in the room. Toilet seat needs repair (room 529). Need a clothes line for wet swim suits.
Review 27:They are under construction so the noise woke us up early.
Review 28:The staff was excellent, very accommodating. The computer was down so they were so kind to offer us some coupons for a free drink. The waitress at the bar was really, really nice. The buffet was delicious!
Review 29:Air conditioner blew right on our heads all night long, bathroom had no AC at all, and the toilet made an annoying, long noise every time it was flushed.....very annoying in the middle of the night. Also there was no mirror in the room other than the one in the bathroom.
Review 30:Excellent staff...very helpful and pleasant. Person checking us in asked what brought us to Austin. I said we were celebrating my birthday. Later in the evening, a bottle of wine and a basket of cookies were brought to the room. Soooo thoughtful!
Review 31:Shower leaked. Only half a roll of toilet paper in bathroom. Bathroom very hot, no a/C coming from the vent. Toilet stopped up. No tub. Poor lighting in bedroom. Parking garage not close. Key given to get in the garage did not work. Parking not included in room rate.
Review 32:The bed.
Review 33:Hotel is currently being renovated. Rooms we had were dated but reasonably clean. Value paid for older room wasnt good. Value for older rooms should be at a reduced rate during the renovations. Renovated rooms could charge full rate. Renovations being done was not known prior to booking.
Review 34:Location and view were very good.
Review 35:Nothing
Review 36:Great staff! Excellent service! We were attending the River City Pops Show Choir performances at the Long Center and we were so close, we were able to walk for the four performances we attended.
Review 37:Wish bathroom had ventilation. Got pretty steamy after showers.
Review 38:Staff was so sweet! Even gave us cards we could use for our daughter's graduation when we forgot to pick some up in the way!!
Review 39:Not a bad experience but our room was near an exit door and heard the door slamming closed a number of times
Review 40:Location Cleanliness Rooms are well insulated from outside noise Black out curtains
Review 41:No Golf Channel , had trouble with TV. Remote not working very good. Not enough Movie channels. Like your place but will not stay again because of TV. & No Golf channel. Thanks
Review 42:Parking garage made it difficult to get luggage to and from car. Paying extra for parking was a let down. Too expensive for what I got. Pool was outside which was to cold to use this time of year, No hot tub!
Review 43:view was nice
Review 44:I paid more than $400/night for a balacony room w/ a river view. In my wing, my room was the only one in use - the rest were under construction. It sounded like jack hammers and was a miserable stay. I paid $50 more per night for a balacony - the balcony done didn't actually function, the lock was removed, the door was off its tracks and they installed a small slide lock which didn't work either.
Review 45:Not much
Review 46:I'm 20 and make good money so I like to stay at nice places but I felt as if the staff didn't give me their full attention or care to my needs as much since I was young yet I paid the same amount as anyone else there I was very disappointed
Review 47:The view was great
Review 48:The welcoming, well-trained staff was the best part of our stay. The food at the bar restaurant was amazing. It was great having the option of making Starbucks coffee in our room or going downstairs to the cafe. We enjoyed the experience of staying in such a well-run hotel.
Review 49:Didn't realize we were booking 2 double beds instead of 1 queen or king (my fault), and the double bed was not comfortable for 2 persons...had a tendency to roll one toward the middle.
Review 50:Nice having coffee in the room, but ordinary coffee would have been preferable. Starbucks is a bit stout for first thing in the morning!
Review 51:The hotel was efficient and easy to navigate. Breakfast was good. The view from the room and terrace excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 52:Overall hotel noise was loud, both in the lobby and bar area and most importantly in the rooms. Not only could we hear noise from other rooms and hallway, but there was the constant sound of water running through the pipes whenever someone above us flushed toilet or took shower.
Review 53:Staff was excellent, check in and out very efficient, rooms were large and very comfortable, we reserved 2 river view rooms and the view did not disappoint, sushi in the bar areas was excellent.
Review 54:Do not like the fact that you have to pay for parking!!! The price of the hotel in itself should at least let you have free parking. This was very upsetting to me and my guests. Also, our shower did not work well. We had to keep maneuvering it in order to get hot water without it being scolding hot.
Review 55:Love the fact that there was an availability to food and drink and restaurant that had excellent food. The comfort of the room was wonderful...
Review 56:2 queen sized beds would have added comfort to our night's sleep. The noise level from the lobby at bedtime was very noticeable, but it didn't continue too far into the night.
Review 57:The location was perfect for access to the hike and bike trail. We also really enjoyed the view of town lake from our room and from the dining room as we ate breakfast.
Review 58:i was extremely pressed for time- and when i checked into my room, which was very small and shabby- I was immediately struck by a terrible odor- i called to complain but had no time before my event to try to change rooms- when i returned to the room later- the front desk was closed for the night- i had to sleep in the room which I learned had been a smoking room, converted within the week to non smoking- I am allergic to cigarette smoke. they had sprayed with some kind of sickening sweet odor masker which permeated all my clothes and belongings.I had booked the room almost two months before- and was paying a premium price. there was no excuse for me being put in a smoking room. A terrible experience, which I now have to pay for all my clothes to be professionally cleaned to get the odor out. The staff, once alerted was apologetic and made efforts to make it right.
Review 59:the manager made the situation right by taking care of the room- and was very apologetic. I received a call from housekeeping the next day
Review 60:Room wasn't cleaned until late afternoon. Need HD channels on TV.
Review 61:Very comfortable hotel. Access to Town Lake is a plus. Staff very nice and accommodating.
Review 62:Valet service seemed not very attentive. Came out of hotel took valet attendent 5 minutes to recognize us and I had to walk up to them.
Review 63:Cleanliness of the Hyatt and location great.
Review 64:For the amenities, the room was expensive. However, it was ACL weekend and the expense was probably because of the close proximity to the festival. Parking was $$$. Easy access to the running trail which is important to me.
Review 65:Service in the bar was ok but the restaurant on the main floor, terrible service. Waited forever for menus, placing drink orders, getting drinks....everything.
Review 66:Great location to ACL and on the river
Review 67:It may have just been the room type ( king) but the lack of mini refrigerator was a real downside for me I had to buy fresh milk each day as I couldn't store it.
Review 68:The Concierge Mollie Caine was exceptional at giving me advice about where to find things. Saved me a lot of time and expense. The staff were generally happy and helpful.
Review 69:We liked everything about the hotel and location.
Review 70:We really loved how close we were to downtown while also having the trails, pool, and nature so close. The bats were great!
Review 71:Some of the valet staff can be a little rude.... but don't let them ruin your day
Review 72:The majority of the staff was awesome.... you can't beat the location if your looking to enjoy LBJ Lake and the downtown area.... Very pet friendly.... and the bats at the congress street bridge are a must see
Review 73:Price was higher than I would have liked. I would have been happier with $200.
Review 74:We had a 12th floor view of the river and the skyline. Hotel staff was very nice. It was quiet and they even provided ear plugs as a Texas Longhorns game was happening the night we stayed. I thought the price was steep. I paid $393 w/taxes for the room, but it was very nice. Even provided bath robes, which I had never had in a hotel. Have I stayed in nicer, sure. Have I stayed in worse, oh my gosh yes. We were splurging for my husbands birthday and wanted to get out of Houston. We enjoyed Austin very much and enjoyed the 1 night stay at the hotel. We checked out the pool area but didn't use it. They had a gym, bar, and all kinds of water sports equipment was being rented out to guests and others at the base of the hotel where the river was.
Review 75:Had a little trouble with the AC on the first night, might have been due to the heat from the window and the vents for the room being at the back of the room against the window on a column.
Review 76:Location, hospitality, cleanliness, good food.
Review 77:-Food prices a bit too high
Review 78:-Excellent Staff -Beautiful views & location; lots to do within walking distance -For active lifesytle, running trail is fantastic!
Review 79:$19 per day for parking was exorbitant. Complimentary coffee in the lobby would have been nice.
Review 80:Great view of the river and downtown! Nice pool and hot tub. Good location.
Review 81:The staffs were really kind and nice. The view was good to see the city of Austin and river. If I have chance to stay Austin, I would like to stay at Hyatt Regency Austin again. I highly recommend this hotel.
Review 82:At certain moments I did not like the location with regard to walking to and from the hotel. The front entrance driveway was inconvenient because of construction and the sidewalk leading up to Congress Avenue was blocked off for repair and landscaping. I was also confused after later examining my bill as to the varying rates for my four nights there.
Review 83:The staff was always available and very helpful with regard to any question about transportation, sites, etc. in Austin. One staff member even helped me to print out my airline boarding pass of which I am very grateful.
Review 84:We had an excellent meal at the restaurant (SWB) and morning coffee on the terrace was really pleasant. The hotel is an easy drive from the airport. Downtown, right across the river, is in easy reach.
Review 85:For the price, you get amazing things! Everything was great: staff, room, pool, valet, river view, location and activities. It was a quick walk or cheap fare to 6th street! You get great service at the pool...:) They even handed out popsicles at 4pm...AWESOME! A really fun bonus was being able to walk right outside to the river and be able to rent a kayak, river bike or paddle board. I cannot wait to come back!
Review 86:Booked river view room 90 days in advance, when we arrived were told the room we booked for our honey moon was not available, because it was overbooked.Good job HYATT!!!
Review 87:Staff charged us for breakfast buffet even when included in the room price. Hotel charges for wifi (ridiculous) but annouces password to each guest where everyone standing in line can hear.
Review 88:Great location Staff very courteous Not loud at night Great buffet Loved outdoor sitting areas
Review 89:Room was slightly outdated and felt small for the price. I did not like that the TV was on the dresser.
Review 90:Location, walking trails, and staff was nice. Breakfast was awesome.
Review 91:The carpeting was in need of replacement and the bathrooms were small and in need of a makeover. Since the garage was under construction, I'm not sure if this will change, but it would be nice if the garage was directly connected to the hotel and you didn't have to enter where the cars pull in for registration.
Review 92:The view from the balcony was amazing! The rooms were well appointed and very quiet. Bed was very comfortable, firm.
Review 93:Restaurant didn't have any Christmas meal at lunch (ribs special not really Christmas). Nowhere to hang out 4 towels :(
Review 94:Location. Comfy beds.
Review 95:The room was delightful !! Comfortable mattress, shower, and the decor of the room. The Concierge was very helpful.
Review 96:my room had a undersized flat screen tv with poor picture quality
Review 97:Bed kinda hard but overall it great
Review 98:The food on the breakfast buffet was cold everyday, esp. the bacon. The toaster didn't work.
Review 99:Cleanliness , staff was great all around.
Review 100:There is construction inside the hotel during the late December.
Review 101:It's close to downtown, but it is relatively quiet with a more beautiful view.
Review 102:Location, the clean modern rooms.
Review 103:Beautifully renovated and excellent service
Review 104:Very pleasant hotel to stay.
Review 105:The worst bathroom ever
Review 106:Noise from renovations was maddening.
Review 107:The staff was very friendly and the rooms were nice, comfortable, and clean! Will definitely be back again!
Review 108:Seems a bit overpriced.
Review 109:Friendly staff.
Review 110:Everything at this location is superb!
Review 111:Check in parking situation. I busted up my rental car and have a ton to pay now, but the stay was nice.
Review 112:Mackenzie was a great
Review 113:Nothing.
Review 114:Very warm and friendly staff, beautiful view of Austin and wonderful area to have drinks and/or eat outside. Very relaxing.
Review 115:Hotel was old and out-of-date and not aesthetically pleasing.
Review 116:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good facilities.
Review 117:Quiet, clean hotel.
Review 118:The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.
Review 119:The location and it is a nice hotel.
Review 120:The washroom wasn't clean, unpleasant smell ...
Review 121:The staff and the location.
Review 122:Excellent staff, great location, nice room, comfy bed, free wifi
