Reviews for Alaskan Inn

Review 1:The music being played in the lobby when we checked in.

Review 2:The Northern Lights room was excellent...loved the hot tub and music being played in the room as well!!

Review 3:The cabin was a little close to the road so there were a lot of noises coming from the street.

Review 4:The breakfast was out of this world. Amazing! Staff was friendly.

Review 5:This was our second stay and we are very disappointed. It was not the same ... cleanliness and hospitality was awful. When we checked out I asked the front desk clerk, what happened? Response: There was a change in management. My response to them for 2 nights that cost us over $500 your management needs to change their attitude. Not have broken showers, no cleaning or freshening the room the second day. I can stay somewhere else and get much better service from now on. BTW you are asked to leave for a little while so they cleaning people can come in ... we did. 10:30 -3 pm. UGH!

Review 6:The location is wonderful, we have stayed there previously in July and loved it. Charming atmosphere and quiet.

Review 7:there is no wifi in most of this property which turned out to be a pain for accessing local attractions etc.

Review 8:the breakfasts are very good as is the location.

Review 9:They need wine glasses, but only have champagne glasses. Any place this romantic should stock the "tools"

Review 10:I visit the Salt Lake area a couple of times per year to see my family. I always book at the Alaskan Inn even though I have to drive an extra 30 minutes to do so. The canyon is beautiful and the rooms are wonderfully appointed. Each has a spa tub and if you open your window at night, you hear the wonderful sound of the stream just in back of the property. They also serve a really great breakfast right to your room at the time of your choosing. It is really worth the trip!

Review 11:Problems with the TV and DVD player. The water jets in the tub didn't work.

Review 12:The staff was wonderful! The food was excellent and the room was comfortable.

Review 13:We took a trip here for our Honeymoon. Worst place EVER! We got walked in on not once, but twice! Door was locked and everything. Breakfast was extremely poor quality. Road is way too close, it is so loud all night long! I did not feel like my trip was worth the cost whatsoever.

Review 14:The idea of staying in a cabin, and the cool painting on the wall were fun. It looks like fun from the road, but that's about as good as it gets.

Review 15:Our windows were dirty, so we couldn't really see our view clearly. Also, I thought a river view meant that we would be able to see the river from our room. We learner that we had to go outside and walk to the river.

Review 16:The place was beautiful. More than I expected.

Review 17:The one disappointment we discovered was the lack of a shower in our room. Having come from a road cycling race, all we wanted was to head straight to the shower and clean off before climbing into bed. As it was, we had to wait for a long time for the tub to fill and thus, for our baths to commence and then, for bed. But, once the tub was filled, let's be honest: sitting in there and soaking was pretty awesome. So, not a huge setback for us in the end but something guests should know about before booking.

Review 18:Hands down, my absolute favorite was the breakfast we selected brought to the door at the hour of our choosing. We arrived very late the night before and wanted to sleep in, wake up slowly, and enjoy the morning. Breakfast came hot and delicious at 9:30 and we were able to enjoy the morning until 11:00, which was a pretty generous check-out time.

Review 19:The Alaskan Inn had some of the best customer service I've seen in years! They truly value the people who stay at their hotel. Everyone was friendly and readily available to help in any way. The homemade cookies were delicious! The cleanliness of the cabin was superb! The homemade breakfast was the cherry on top! We could not have picked a better place to stay and enjoy a weekend out of town! This will now be our go to get a way!!! 5 stars in our book.

Review 20:The toilet wasn't clean (pee still on the seat!), the room had no shower, confusing how to work air conditioning, had to switch cables from cable to blu-ray ourselves to have it work, no wifi in the room near the main lobby, had problems charging our card right multiple times, apologized and said they would give us a free night, but then never responded back to future emails. Not going back! It was our 15th anniversary and very disappointed!

Review 21:The location is nice. Where we stayed the first night we were married 15 years ago. But in a cabin. Breakfast is good.

Review 22:Could not have been a more pristine location. Sherrie was such a blessing to us during our stay. Shawnee is such a wonderful young lady that was committed to great service.

Review 23:Some road noise; needed to keep the windows closed which was a shame with the beautiful weather

Review 24:Private cabins with jetted tub and beautiful landscaping; breakfast was amazing; in-room massage wonderful; impeccable staff service; incredible views

Review 25:Don't like that you cant check in until 4:00, and need to be checked out by 11:00. That's a lot of money for such a short amount of time.

Review 26:Love going here for our anniversary. Best bed and breakfast by far. Love the location.

Review 27:There was no shower. Just a tub. The bed was raised you had to climb up to it.

Review 28:The room was a good size. The breakfast was very good.plenty of items to choose from.

Review 29:Restaurant on site would have been nice!

Review 30:Loved to jacuzzi! The room was cute and cozy! The view from the room was amazing!! The staff was friendly! The breakfast was great!

Review 31:Located on a narrow canyon road with some noise during peak traffic hours, not cycling recommended.

Review 32:We came for the National Masters Cycling Championships. Most people stayed in town at the USAC recommended hotels, but we found this gem up in Ogden Canyon looking for alternatives. The location was good for the races, a few minutes from downtown. The Antelope Island TT course was as easily accessible as the in town hotels, and the road races were up in the valley which was even more accessible. Quaint cabins, beautifully done, good breakfast, nice people, reasonably priced.

Review 33:Large water damage stains under the sink, Outdated and old and well worn tub, sink and toilet, no shower (would have been nice to wash the throw up out of my hair from the food poisoning from Harley and Bucks restaurant), stains on carpet, sewage bubbling up from the septic tank, casual and non-very professional front desk service, box elder bugs in our room.

Review 34:Location, Idea of Free Breakfast, Dim lighting and music in room upon arrival, furnishings.

Review 35:Didn't like that our room did not have a shower

Review 36:Breakfast was awesome! Loved that to was delivered to the room. Lovedthe themed room wth chocolates and sparkling cidar and music playingwhen we came in. Such a great atmosphere

Review 37:our room did not have any screens on the windows, so we could not enjoy the cool night breeze with out the bugs.I felt that the carpet in our room, the Alaskan, was in dire need of shampooing, and we also noticed that the room lacked towel racks. We would have liked to seen some chaise lounge chairs out back to take a quick snooze to the sounds of the river.

Review 38:Ambiance, cookies, landscapes. in the future, we will stick with the cabin

Review 39:I'm short and had trouble getting in and out of the bed and the reservation said i had a riverview but we had a view of the parking lot

Review 40:We couldn't get the dvd player to work

Review 41:The way we were able to relax with the music and the sparkling cider to greet us

Review 42:The Bed Was Real hard!

Review 43:Love to how it was quiet. Breakfast was great.

Review 44:The atmosphere

Review 45:Friendly staff. Secluded location on river side.

Review 46:Location was beautiful. The room was fun and exciting. Great staff.

Review 47:Love the canyon and you just can't beat the Alaskan!

Review 48:I liked it all.

Review 49:Breafast

Review 50:No shower

Review 51:The deck was loose and soft and could have been a trip hazard. This was in the wind song cabin. But enjoyed the stay.

Review 52:Being close to the river.

Review 53:For a classy place, the quality of toilet paper was very poor.

Review 54:Coffee with breakfast was pretty weak

Review 55:Cool location and grounds.

Review 56:Was charged more then I booked for , seem to be some question as to what room we were suppose to be in., would like some follow up on this

Review 57:Great view

Review 58:we loved everything, very quite and relaxing

Review 59:Really poor coffee Weak Wifi Bed so high as to be hard to get in to

Review 60:Beautiful resort Friendly staff Bathtub with air jets

Review 61:There was no electrical outlet near head of bed.

Review 62:Breakfast was great. Special accommodation was appreciated.

Review 63:Everything but no shower

Review 64:beautiful setting wonderful service

Review 65:Themed room

Review 66:Everything it's so good

Review 67:Location awesome mountain views

Review 68:Very cute place, especially in the winter with snow.

Review 69:everything

Review 70:Great People, Great rooms, very nice breakfast, Great place to have a get away, wife was very pleased, it worked, will return.

Review 71:Neat themed rooms

Review 72:The room had music playing, but you had to leave the television in in order to enjoy it. Perhaps a built in sound system would be nice, and screens on the windows. We left the window open to listen to the river and we had bugs flying in. Regardless we loved the place overall.

Review 73:We stayed in the northern lights room. We loved it! The staff, especially the young woman who was expecting, was wonderful!! She was so very helpful. We'll be back. Breakfast in the room was a delight for those of us who would rather not venture out to a crowded lobby or restaurant.

Review 74:bed wasn't very comfortable. I wished the room was more themed and creative.

Review 75:We enjoyed the jetted tub and breakfast. The quietness of our stay. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The free cookie, the sound of the river behind our room.

Review 76:Was a relaxing, quaint little place. The gal at the front desk was awesome and accommodating. We were all sad we were just staying overnight to leave early morning for a marathon. Wish we could have spent more time there.

Review 77:The beds were very uncomfortable, the breakfast was not that great. They should consider getting some new beds in the place

Review 78:The staff were great. They treat you very well and are always asking if you need anything.

Review 79:My husband and I loved the quaint cottages and it was located in the middle of a beautiful canyon. Breakfast brought to our cabin was excellent. This was a perfect trip and hope to return for another stay.

Review 80:Great service, friendly staff, and the full breakfast included with the room is excellent! We have stayed here on several occasions and will continue to return.

Review 81:We ordered a fruit, cheese and crackers gourmet platter. The crackers were soggy because of the fruit. Also the cheese did not look at all gourmet, but rather those processed cheese slices that come in a package. The platter would have been much better with the fruit on a separate plate and much more fancier cheeses like parmezan, gruyere, cheese fondue, brie, blue cheese, etc.

Review 82:The room was great. Location was beautiful!

Review 83:We loved the ambiance, the privacy, the feeling of being all alone- quiet room, well insulated, felt completely relaxed, the staff was very accomodating, the breakfast was awesome, was a perfect getaway!

Review 84:booking.com gave me a total price and said that is what I would be paying, but when I got the bill there was another tax on it so it was approximately $15 more.

Review 85:It was a very nice place with a great atmosphere.

Review 86:We liked everything!

Review 87:Cabins are cozy and comfortable. Breakfast delivered to our cabin was delicious. Chilled bottle of sparkling cider in our room when we arrived. Friendly staff were very helpful. Huge jetted tub for two.

Review 88:The included "full breakfast" was nicely prepared and the cook braved freezing temperatures to bring it to us. However the ingredients were cheap, like pancakes with fake maple syrup. If the breakfast had more real food options, we would have been very happy.

Review 89:Beautiful setting, cozy, fun log cabin ambiance. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 90:Gps location is a bit "fouled up" - sends the driver into asubdivision 1 mile west of the inn.Perhaps a sign at the subdivision directing the driver to the inn would be helpful.

Review 91:Most friendly staff. Clean room.

Review 92:Nothing! Loved it all!

Review 93:Loved the breakfast! Everything was super great. Would come here again in a heartbeat.

Review 94:Bed was not comfortable

Review 95:Secluded, no noise and very good breakfast.
