Reviews for Ruby2

Review 1:Had to pay for parking and breakfast was slightly below average.

Review 2:Staff was friendly. Great location close to downtown. Great theme with all the classic pictures. I would stay here again at a slightly better rate.

Review 3:Bathrooms should have been upgraded better to match the room remodel. Location was close to mall and south hill, but lots of crackheads and homeless people walking around hotel, safety was a worry, more so with my car than me.

Review 4:Beds and bedding were comfortable! Room was clean, had a decent breakfast.

Review 5:Comfy Bed, Clean Room and Friendly Staff. The price was affordable and it is close to everywhere we wanted to eat or shop while in spokane for a couple of days.

Review 6:Wish the room had a proper desk.

Review 7:Great location right downtown. Walk to restaurants, bars, shopping & the Falls. Clean. No-nonsense room. Parking on-site.

Review 8:There wasn't a lot of breakfast options. The beds were not comfortable. There were trains going by all night so there was a lack of sleep.

Review 9:We liked that there was breakfast, and we also liked the decorations.

Review 10:During our visit the owners chose to refinish the parking lot. The smell was incredibly strong, our eyes were burning, could not leave doors or windows open and it was quite intrusive. They really should have scheduled it and not taken guests for a couple days. They offered to comp our first night, which was appropriate and respectful. They also charged me parking even though I couldn't park because the underground lot was full, but they comp'd a night so I didn't bother getting this credited. Also, know this hotel is right on the train line - commercial and passenger trains. They shake the ground and make lots of noise all through the night. This explains why ear plugs await you in the room once you check in. I would not stay here again. Nice employees, tried to be accommodating, but simply not a good location, and we found the parking lot situation to be completely poor taste and a liability. This company appears to have a couple other Ruby hotels in Spokane, but neither had capacity during our stay.

Review 11:Management and employees were nice and service oriented

Review 12:The people at the reception were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. They gave some tips of things to do in the neighbourhood. There is not really much to see and do in Spokane to my opinion, but it is a nice quiet little town to stay when you are passing through. The hotel has parking space available and is located at walking distance from a shopping mall and a nice little park. Highly recommandable: restaurant Steam Plant, just a few metres from the hotel.

Review 13:Would have been nicer if the parking lot was completed, the smell was strong, but I realize that's just a timing issue.

Review 14:The location was perfect, we were able to walk to everything. The hotel was decorated well and the breakfast was exactly what we needed.

Review 15:The staff let us check in early (11am) and was very friendly. The Ruby2 is quiet. I've stayed at the original Ruby a view times, and have been woken up by loud concert-goers. It's nice not to worry about that here.

Review 16:It did not have coffee in the room. VERY close to railroad line and it was running throughout the night. Not impressed with continental breakfast.

Review 17:It was close to downtown theater district. The room was very clean.

Review 18:The shower looked wonderful, but there was hardly any water pressure. I'm currently getting help with charging issues. I stayed one night, but they recorded and charged me for two. I'm sure it will be resolved because it sounds like miscommunication resulting in a mistake. The staff was very friendly while I was there, so I don't doubt they'll get it taken care of.

Review 19:The bed and pillows were comfortable. The atmosphere was noisy, but I didn't mind it at all. It wasn't obnoxious noise. There was not a huge selection for breakfast, but what they served was good enough for me!

Review 20:I received terrible service from a front desk person before I even checked in. I called with a question, and after the conversation with the front desk I almost canceled because the lady was so rude to me.

Review 21:The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Review 22:Close to the train track which could be noisy

Review 23:Handy location just 2 blocks from the Plazer bus station & a $1.50 bus ride to the airport, only a 5 to 10 minute walk to shops, bars, restaurants, river & park. Very comfortable bed & a nice breakfast

Review 24:because of being downtown; noisy trains all night. did not quite live up to the internet photos. Stayed at the Ruby 2 for parking; maybe the original Ruby is more like the photos.

Review 25:close to downtown; walking distance to some places. good parking for our room. Very helpful lady at the desk.

Review 26:Parking was overly cramped and should have been free for the stay. My job requires an internet connection which was nearly non-existent in our room.

Review 27:The staff was kind/ I had left a USB charger and was able to pay for shipping and handling to get it returned. The decor and art was nice and tried to overcome the overall build of the location.

Review 28:not too much to complain about, Some noise from a train but didn't bother me

Review 29:I got a great price, only a few bucks more than a motel 6, but the room was huge, clean and had a fridge and microwave. Clean bathroom and shower, nice staff and good location for downtown. free breakfast was offered but I skipped because of meeting friends for brunch.

Review 30:only one device at a time would work on the wifi. Outside was very noisy at night- someone was running up and down motel hall

Review 31:was clean and comfortable. A quick walk to the public gardens and family activities

Review 32:This property is right in the heart of the city. Walking distance to shopping, food and drink, the Falls and Tram. We were very impressed with the staff, the comfort and the property in general. Thanks to the staff and Booking.com

Review 33:I loved the room. Spartan but fit the needs of a solo traveler. close to restaurants. short walk to train station. close to the riverwalk and downtown mall area

Review 34:Extremely tight parking, but on other hand, didn't need to drive once at hotel. I was glad I had the car and not a truck at this location.

Review 35:Very friendly and helpfull front desk. Close to downtown hotspots.

Review 36:Internet connection might require a bandwidth upgrade as it was way too slow. The train line in front of the hotel might be disturbing from noise point of view but not inside the room.

Review 37:Though its a motel, but the rooms are way above the motel style and once you are in the room, you would feel a 3* hotel room. Beds are extremely comfortable. Right in downtown core.

Review 38:I did not like a $5 charge for parking. I feel if you are staying at a location, you should not have to pay to park there.

Review 39:The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, nice bathroom.

Review 40:The hotel is next to the train line. They have done a good job of dressing it up, but occasionally the trains can be loud. Not the hotel's fault by any measure, and I would imagine many of the Spokane hotels would have this issue.

Review 41:Hotel Ruby2 was awesome. The price is very hard to beat, and the location is right down town. These guys have really done a lot with a little. If we return to Spokane, we would likely stay here again. My girlfriend absolutely loved the ambiance. Oh, and the free bikes provided by the hotel were very cool, and a great way to take a look around a smaller city like Spokane.

Review 42:Liked the underground parking BUT they need to fix the ramp, going in and out of the parking my car bottomed out EVERYTIME all you could hear is the scraping of metal on cement! Also being so close to the train made it difficult to actually get a restful night for my husband and I.

Review 43:Room was clean, and nicely decorated.

Review 44:The train tracks are right next to the hotel. We had a third floor room and were jolted awake a couple times but the train passing by. As they are elevated tracks I'm betting that the lower rooms are better.

Review 45:The room was comfortable and the location great. The breakfast spread was decent but could have used a little more fresh fruit.

Review 46:Very noisy with trains running all night long very close to this property. Rooms very small. Ask for a room far from elevator, as it too is noisy. It looks like a renovated Motel.

Review 47:Parking.

Review 48:grossly overstated the room square footage on booking.com. the frequent passing train noise. the mildly squeaky floors. the limited breakfast choices. no lobby. no swimming pool.

Review 49:the downtown location. the friendly staff. the clean, comfortable room. the art murals and dancing video show on the courtyard wall. the frequent passing trains. the underground parking. the two for one coupon for the Sapphire Lounge.

Review 50:nothing!

Review 51:the chart did not work - all wwould be marked excellent Location - within walking distance of every major activity and shopping - no need to worry about parking. ONly $5.00 for parking per day. surrounding hotels were $22.oo per day.

Review 52:Our room had recently been renovated and the single shower stall was great! It kept the mirror from steaming over, and the water pressure was very nice. I actually stayed at this property 6 months ago, and the latest experience was an improvement on the last.

Review 53:Staff seemed stressed and was quite curt during check-in.

Review 54:The room was very comfortable and I loved how it was decorated. It was also a great location.

Review 55:This was not a problem for me at all, but railway is very close and causes some noise.

Review 56:Good location in the center of Spokane. Staff was very friendly and room was clean and comfortable. Everything worked very well in here and room price was very cheap. I could recommend this location to anyone.

Review 57:The train noise as the tracks were just above the property.

Review 58:The property was beautifully rehabbed but still had the convenience of being a smaller hotel , exterior entrance, smaller parking lot, you could see your car, room is fresher with fresh air available.

Review 59:The motel is very near the railway line... But that's not unusual.

Review 60:Staying in the centre of Spokane helped us get a feel for this city, even though we were there a short time.

Review 61:I couldn't reach my towel from the very classy, modern glass shower. I had to come completely out to get a towel as I couldn't even hang it over the top.

Review 62:The facility was very clean, modern, and comfortable.

Review 63:This is just a suggestion and not a complaint. I think toast instead of english muffins would be better for me but I am from Canads and maybe english muffins is a west coast thing.

Review 64:Located a few hundred feet of a train track which ran trains several times an hour all night long. Very, very noisy!

Review 65:The bedding was very comfortable.

Review 66:Close to train tracks so it was noisy as trains come often. WiFi was so slow it was almost not useable. Rooms were pretty plain with nothing exciting inside them. Tvs were small. No pool. You get a drink coupon but you have to walk over to Ruby1 in order to use it. Pay $5.00/day for parking.

Review 67:Funky decor

Review 68:Wifi was hit and miss, maid service was only adequate. Needs some renovations but they are slowly being addressed. You also have to pay for parking.

Review 69:Awesome downtown location with short walks that showcase the history of Spokane, great restaurants nearby, Downtown Mall and Riverfront Park! Ruby 2 has local artwork displayed around the property and huge murals displayed in the parking area...very cool!

Review 70:DRINKING WATER CONTAINER / OR AN EMPTY WATER BOTTLE NOT PROVIDED IN ROOM

Review 71:COMFORT AND WELL CONNECTED TO SIGHT SEEING/ CITY BUS SERVICES SHOPPING MALL VERY CLOSER

Review 72:None

Review 73:Great attention to detail on the style and charm of the building. Darling ballet dancers light up the side of the building at night. Great touches

Review 74:Big room, easy to walk to the river and shops. Nicely furnished in clean, modern style. Parking included. Elevator available for upper rooms. Third floor room had good light.

Review 75:Sadly, with the railroad hauling extremely long heavy loads of coal frequently thru the night, it took some doing to adjust to the noise so close.

Review 76:The property was clean, the staff well trained and the room was exceptionally clean. Lots of easy access to downtown functions.

Review 77:Lack of healthy breakfast options. Some fruit would be nice ;)

Review 78:To was lovely. Beds were comfortable and the room was nicely set up. It has been hard to find a decent affordable place to stay on the road especially at the last minute. We were very happy with our choice.

Review 79:No coffee machine access until 6:30am but we survived. Ok, the Wi-Fi was a little slow.

Review 80:It is a non-smoking property! Clean, fresh air, inside and out. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Slept very well.

Review 81:When I realize of the extra charges you attach to the room my $66 room cost $88 tell me how much the room cost upfront and pay for parking

Review 82:Room comfort and service

Review 83:Didn't realize it was so close to the tracks, the ear plugs were the first clue. They were greatly appreciated!

Review 84:Location was very handy to downtown and the hospitals for visiting.

Review 85:Close to train station and to downtown restaurants, shopping and IMAX. Renovated rooms were clean with large bathroom and shower, and everything worked.

Review 86:Train noise made it hard to sleep at night. Unfortunately the hotel is too close to the tracks.

Review 87:Friendly and helpful staff, funky urban vibe, free use of bikes was good. Breakfast was good, cool redecoration. Overall good value.

Review 88:I read the reviews that stated the noise from the train was tolerable. I was very glad that i brought ear plugs for everyone! The train noise is most definitely a problem.

Review 89:I was most impressed with the covered parking garage. Downtown can be difficult to find parking and expensive.

Review 90:You can't get away from the problem of being 30-40 yards away from an active railroad line. It is a telling problem when the room has courtesy ear plugs on the counter.....

Review 91:Rooms were attractively furnished in a modern-istic decor, and tasteful.

Review 92:I am just not sure if this location is suitable for a hotel any more. I believe the train tracks are busier then they have ever been and the trains are just so noisy at night. The view of the stacks at night is really nice though. Did use the supplied ear plugs but still heard the trains all night.

Review 93:The room was clean and the night time projected dancer was interesting. The location being near things downtown was good EXCEPT for the trains. Would be best for the hearing impared.

Review 94:The lack of amenities -- ESPECIALLY no coffee available in the room! The location alongside the train tracks is not restful. I woke up all night long. The breakfast items were not good. Impossible to make waffles because they were sticking and couldn't be pryed off the iron. More nutritional items such as fresh fruit would work, but you really need to step up the amenities if you want to compete in today's market.

Review 95:shower was nice

Review 96:What's not to like?!

Review 97:Kaitlyn and Ellissa on the front desk. (both deserve bonuses) Proximity to Riverfront park and dog park. Free bike rentals. Clean, comfortable rooms.

Review 98:Hotel is literally on the railroad tracks. If you are a light sleeper this may be a problem. It runs all night!

Review 99:Walking distance to EVERYTHING! Hotel is still in the process of bring upgraded

Review 100:It never mentioned a cargo train track outside the hotel that ran all night long and kept us from restful sleep

Review 101:For the price and location it is a fabulous stay with a stylish bathroom.

Review 102:paper thin walls, noisey drunk kids, train noise. we did not sleep at all and had to move to a different hotel for the remainder of our visit to Spokane.

Review 103:The elevator was not working as they were remodeling and we had to lug suitcases up stairs.

Review 104:Nice clean hotel with nice staff. In downtown Spokane a short walk from Convention Center, restaurants and river. Nice breakfast, but not much for us gluten free people.

Review 105:Isa bit taken aback when I had to pay extra to park my car at the hotel. I assumed the the rather high price would include parking. I paid $25 to have my dog with us, but found no area for him to do his business. The twins every fifteen minutes were loud, due to the game bring fifty feet away, but the people walking by our room sounded as if they were walking through the room. Very disappointed in or stay and glad it was only one night. Aside room the trains, it has the potential to be s very nice hotel. Maybe they should focus less on nickel and dimming the customer and more on actual service. BTW, the continental breakfast was three cereals, an English muffin or a waffle. No fruit...

Review 106:The room was very nice. Great shower in the bathroom, nice needs. Very aesthetically pleasing

Review 107:Train noise. No whistle, just vibration. Shower only. Only one chair. Very limited breakfast, no fruit. Elevator not working (temporary I'm sure).

Review 108:Price. Access to nearby downtown, symphony, restaurants. Clean, everything is new.

Review 109:Would have liked a bit more fresh food options at breakfast, like fruit, yogurt, etc. instead of just toast and waffles. It's unfortunate that the train is so close, we had to keep the fan on all night to drown out the sound.

Review 110:Loved the atmosphere, cleanliness, and central location. A great value for the price.

Review 111:Is very close to train line, the very regular trains can be heard but they aren't really annoying. Sound insulation in the room is pretty good.

Review 112:Friendly staff, very clean, very central. Would stay there again.

Review 113:The train noise was constant, mostly just a low rumble. Breakfast area is under construction right now. Had to walk 2 blocks to the Ruby 1. If they had bottle openers on the wall and a coffee pot you could empty some one else's water from, that would have been much better.

Review 114:It is nice and close to the Davenport concert area.

Review 115:There was a noise from the washing machines next door. The front desk agent told us he would try his best to make sure it wasn't on after 11 at nite !! We were shoocked that they would even consider running laundry machines late at nite

Review 116:location was good , bed comfortable

Review 117:nothing worth mentioning.

Review 118:This place is definitely worth consideration for your next stay in Spokane. Location, front desk folks, WiFi, room comfort...all very good.

Review 119:If you're looking for an affordable place to stay in downtown Spokane, you won't do better than this. Unless I want to splurge on the Davenport, this is where I'll be staying in Spokane in the future.

Review 120:No yoghurt for the cereals at the Continental Breakfast. Yoghurt is so delicious and would add a classy addition to your selection! Oh yes, please include granola the next time and perhaps fresh bananas for us "gluten free" folks.

Review 121:Loved the soft rumble of the trains throughout the night. Perfect. Your staff was exceptionally hospitable. We are always going to stay here when we come up from Hood River, Oregon!! And Yes, LOVED the Thomas Hammer coffee. Wow! Delicious!!

Review 122:I don't usually hear the trains when I stay here but this time I did so would choose a room on the other side of the building next time.

Review 123:The location is excellent, the rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is a bonus, enjoy indulging myself in tv channels I never otherwise get to watch.

Review 124:The train runs a couple blocks from it. I was so tired I did not even hear it in my whole stay.

Review 125:Everything was near, Cathedral, mall, restaurants, places to see...

Review 126:If you drive any type of small to mid-sized car and you have to park in the garage, drive extremely slow onto the driveway because you will scrape the bottom of the car. It does not matter how you drive out of the garage though. It will scrape anyway, just prepare for it.

Review 127:The beds are very comfortable, especially the pillows. The location is great also; within walking distance to great food and spirits, shopping, and the river.

Review 128:Train noise might be a problem for some but did not bother us.

Review 129:Friendly staff, reasonable price, and we were given a two for one drink voucher which we used at Ruby hotel. Adequate breakfast.

Review 130:The breakfast was OK, but the eating area was too small for the amount of people trying to access the breakfast. Could have had more choices, but it was too small of an area. Upper parking was a bit tight, but had underground parking too.

Review 131:The front desk girl (Hawaiian) was super amazing with info, restaurant info and even thought that she wished she could just drive us to the stadium as it would be super easy for her to get us there. Gave excellent directions. Nicely decorated, fridge, comfy beds and linens.

Review 132:*Best shower ever!! *Decorating & art. *Comfortable bed!...not the usual "hard as a rock". **Very personal, immediate care & service from the gal at the desk...the owner even thanked us and was kind.

Review 133:The elevator is grossly filthy. Looks like it is NEVER cleaned. I noticed patrons were walking up the ramp from the garage to the outside of the building, including me, to avoid the elevator. With as much care as someone has put into this old-style motel, I'm surprised the elevator was SO bad. Smelled to. The stairway next to the elevator from the garage isn't far behind. Management should really do something about this. The parking sucks if the place is full and you get there late.

Review 134:This is a perfect location, at the edge of downtown. Straight 4 block walk to Riverside Mall and Riverside Park. The room was updated, clean, comfortable and the queen bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was modern and very nice! The trains going by are loud when outside but I didn't notice them at all while sleeping. They never woke me up once. Overall a modest room but alllllmost worth the price. Another $10 lower would have fit. I will most likely return, however.

Review 135:Avoid the dungeon rooms (118, 218, 318) as they get no natural light. Some train noise (not unexpected, it's right beside the line). Light from outside comes in under the curtain.

Review 136:Bigger room than Ruby 1. Comfortable bed. Great downtown location.

Review 137:Our room was skipped for service but it never happened before, and the manager made it right with a very fair discount. Would stay here again for sure!!!

Review 138:Its a great location, very comfortable and artsy. Love the deco and the live video running on the wall outside, very unique.
