Reviews for Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown

Review 1:The staff and femaile bartender at Fahrenheit were rude and pretentious. Parking attendant in adjacent private parking lot was hostile..

Review 2:Valet parking attendants, hotel reception staff and cleaning staff were all excellent!

Review 3:STAFF WAS REALLY FRIENDLY, CONVENIENTLY LOCATED NEAR THE CONVENTION CENTER. ROOFTOP HAS A BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF CHARLOTTE. BREAKFAST WAS GREAT, BAR WAS NICE BUT EXPENSIVE AND ROOMS WERE SPACIOUS. COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHY SUCH A HUGE KITCHEN AND THERE WAS NOTHING IN IT AT ALL.

Review 4:The parking is a minus. There is no hotel parking so valet is costly. Also the breakfast could use some improvement. Not many options.

Review 5:I loved the how it was in close proximity to the Convention Center. Very nice hotel.

Review 6:Unbeknownst to us the sink in the bathroom was leaking onto a hair dryer which short circuited during use, fortunately no one was hurt. The pillows were very hard.

Review 7:The location and facilities were a good value for what I paid.

Review 8:Not really a bad experience but the room was really dusty. Almost like it hasn't been used in awhile.

Review 9:The location was within walking distance to the panther stadium near by and local restaurants. Which was great because we could leave our car parked the whole weekend. We had a corner suite which gave us a lot of windows for an amazing city view! Definitely recommend this suite if you want a great view!!

Review 10:The only "negative" is there was only 1 bar of soap in the bathroom and no blanket for the pull out bed, but those aren't truly negatives as we could have called for another bar of soap and/or blanket and I am sure they would have quickly taken care of our need. We just didn't.

Review 11:We had only been to Charlotte once before for a Panthers preseason game in August. After that experience we decided we would get a hotel room since we live in Waynesboro, VA and wanted to get the full experience instead of driving 8 hours round trip in 1 day. With no knowledge of the area we took a chance on Booking.Com and found this hotel. We couldn't have been more pleased. Not only did it serve our needs for proximity to the stadium, but also on-site parking, but it is also a beautiful establishment. We were treated wonderfully and with great respect from the check in Valet and Front Desk Crew to the check out Valet and Front Desk Crew. The staff running the breakfast were super nice, helpful and very pleasant. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when we go back to Charlotte.

Review 12:The tv didn't work called to front desk nobody never came up. Didn't get the room that I reserved. The drunks were so loud it was hard to sleep I will not be returning to this hotel and that's a shame my friends and intent this hotel every month when we come down and usually love this place but when you keep messing up and have nothing to do for it! The bathroom was dirty and they never came and cleaned the bathroom after we told them about it alcohol was left in the fridge and in a cup

Review 13:Everything was great. The location to downtown. Short walking distance to EpiCenter and restaurants. The restaurant and bar at the Hyatt are fantastic.

Review 14:From the valet parking staff to the gentleman that checked us in there was nothing but kindness and professionalism. The views of uptown Charlotte are spectacular. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable!

Review 15:Great Staff. We were there to see the Panthers and the staff let us check our bags in before our rooms were available. Very nice and helpful! Rooms were great, great night skyline view from the restaurant on the 21st floor. Will go back.

Review 16:The only "bad" thing was the glasses in our room were dirty but they sent clean ones right up so it really wasn't even a big deal.

Review 17:I loved the staff! Everyone was so friendly! I loved the location..walked wherever we needed to go!

Review 18:Overcharged for a fairly clean room. I had to clean myself. Overcharged for a flat soda. The restaurant connected's staff is rude. Knocking on my door after I asked for a late check out. Dirty plates at breakfast. They were almost all dirty and the food kept running out.

Review 19:Location and valet staff were polite and great. View was beautiful. Breakfast was good.

Review 20:The room smelled of mildew, the sliding bathroom door caught the guests finger, ive never been to a hotel were there's not 24 hour coffee. Parking is very expensive to stay at this hotel and its not explained prior to booking, more like surprise that will be an extra $100. They ran out of breakfast literally every day. I would never book here again?

Review 21:The location was great.

Review 22:The restaurant was closed the day before Thanksgiving and Thanksgivingwith no notice to us and our lockbox malfunctioned on Thanksgiving daywith my medications and wallet inside and was told it first it couldnot be opened along with housekeeping not coming for several days aswell as our stay had to be extended because of an illness with our four-year-old and despite the malfunction of the second tv we specifically chosethis hotel for, we were not given any kind of reimbursement but anextended check out which was not honored in fact we were charged. Therewere so many things that made this not a three-star hotel, and I haveextended experienceas both a hostess, a server and housekeeper fromlunch style to force diamond hotels and chose this not only forlocation but for its rating and I have never never never experiencedsuch a horrible vacation, intended for my four-year-old birthday and itwas just ghastly.

Review 23:Front desk was located on 10th floor. Had to ride up to check in then get on an elevator to go to room. Inefficient.

Review 24:Central location within walking distance of area, restaurants and bars

Review 25:I didn't like the valet parking. I would rather park in garage. I didn't like the breakfast. I would prefer lobby in first floor w cofee and tea available.

Review 26:I liked the location and proximity to the arena.

Review 27:The valet service on check seem to a Lil undermanned. ..football Sunday a lot of people checking out..they could have usedone a couple more guys. The few they had were running but really needed help..

Review 28:Everything was wicked awesome.

Review 29:Not sure if there are certain requirements or dress code for the roof top restaurant, was not real comfortable there.

Review 30:the size of the room was excellent for us!

Review 31:There were three in the room. Second morning no clean coffee cups or glasses. Should not have had to ask for coerect amount of coffee. Extra towels would have been nice.

Review 32:Location.

Review 33:our room was not the cleanest there were many stains on the carpet, the pool was also a let down it was very cold not really usable.

Review 34:it was an overall nice hotel. breakfast was pretty good.

Review 35:Our sheets had stains and also very visible holes through out the sheets and comforter.

Review 36:At check in we received an upgraded room, friendly staff throughout our stay, responded very quickly to our concerns. Nice restaurant located in same building.

Review 37:Lack of parking choices, lobby on the 10th floor (confusing if you're staying for the first time and don't know this), small variety of food for the breakfast, pillows were small

Review 38:Location within walking distance to lots of things to see and do. "Man cave" area and weight room were nice.

Review 39:I had a room that was next to the ice machine. Constantly grinding and pouring through out the night waking me up every hour.

Review 40:Liked the location. Good with no car. less than a five min walk from the tram.

Review 41:The only problem I had was with the pillows but I'm a very light sleeper and have a hard time getting comfortable at home not a knock on the hotel at all.

Review 42:Everyone that I ran into was incredibly nice, gave me excellent recommendations on what to eat and where to go to have a good time.

Review 43:Several staff members were rude and gave conflicting information about the amenities available (bar, food, etc). The breakfast was terrible with many items missing and no service. The location worked for us as we were in Charlotte for a Panthers game, however I do not plan to stay here again.

Review 44:The location was convenient,

Review 45:The breakfast was not spectacular. It was OK... The valet costs $20.00/night. There is parking adjacent to the hotel for $7.50/night

Review 46:We stayed in a Suite which was very spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable, the Bathroom was spacious and the sitting area was nicely done. Very nice television. WIFI was uninterrupted and we had a separate dining table and nice sitting area. Next time in Charlotte we will more than likely stay here again.. This hotel is a few minutes walk from Epic Center. There are a few sportsbars and restaurants at the Epic Center. There are numerous restaurants nearby within walking distance. Panther Stadium is about 20-30 minutes walk. Hyatt gave us a 15% off coupon for Black Finn Sports Bar. A nice place with good food. We went there 2 nights and used 2 coupons.

Review 47:Being in the hotel business,we felt breakfast was less the miserable. We have been to lesser hotels/mitels that had better breakfast. Advertise fresh fruit but both were canned. Hotel was full with football game in town. It should have been your time to shine. For a $200.00 room breAkfast was just maybe ok.

Review 48:Friendly staff. Helped us with dinner plans. Extremely clean and bed very comfortable. Charged us wrong rate and took care of it immediately. Offered food and snacks 24/7.

Review 49:The pool was very small and was also closed. I really wanted an indoor pool but its okay I still enjoyed every minute I spent there. Will definitely be staying here again.

Review 50:The room was very spacious and the view of the city was spectacular. The staff was also very friendly. I enjoyed the stay because it was a simple get away from work to enjoy with friends and we did just that. Overall the stay here was worth the money we spent.

Review 51:The parking lot was horrible. Uneven, gravel, limited entrance(s)/exits, and poor access to building entrance from the lot, we had to walk all the way to one side or the other to get around the chain link fence. . Arrived late and would have liked a less formal eating facility. Tried to go to the top floor restaurant, but greeter and overall atmosphere made us feel uncomfortable due to fomality of the space and our informal state after a long day.

Review 52:The room was very nice. Personnel at check in and the bar/coffee shop were friendly and helpful.

Review 53:The hotel is just over a mile from Bank of America Stadium. This proximity and the ratings led me to choose the Hyatt Place and I couldn't be happier. Every staff member we encountered was very pleasant and accommodating and our King room on the 14th floor was amazing. The cleanliness, comfort and view will definitely bring us back!

Review 54:The trash can in our room was not emptied and had a condom wrapper and used condom in the waste can upon arrival. Other than that everything else was good.

Review 55:The big rooms location friendly helpful staff

Review 56:Hyatt Place Downtown Charlotte has quickly become our favorite downtown chill destination for getting away from the kiddoes! Perfect location, especially if you use B-Cycle!

Review 57:As a solo female traveler, I did not feel safe walking to dinner and back. I like to at least leave the hotel to explore a bit for dinner but the bus depot is right by the hotel. Walking by it alone in the dark was very uncomfortable and I did not feel safe. So if you stay here an to eat at the hotel's expensive restaurant.

Review 58:It is a very comfortable and clean hotel.

Review 59:Had to wait over an hour for room to be cleaned before being able to ck in. Then once we got into the room there was a small blood stain on one of the pillow cases. For the price of the room I was expecting a better breakfast. I was expecting more than what was offered for breakfast.

Review 60:Location, decor, staff was very courteous and professional, cleanliness other than the blood stained pillow case. I just tossed it in a corner and kept it moving.

Review 61:1. My girlfriend found a moldy strawberry that had been under the end table for awhile 2. No parking area. I had to pay to park at lot next door 3.need to update the Ice and vending signs.

Review 62:Location

Review 63:Valet-only parking. It was a bit pricey and not really necessary, but I suppose that's expected when you're located downtown.

Review 64:Best hotel breakfast we've ever had! Also the blinds in the room were amazing. Prime location, close to everything a weekend getaway needs.

Review 65:The negative is in regards to the HVA system. The unit was very loud and every time it cut on during the night it woke me up and I can usually sleep through anything.

Review 66:The room was nice and clean and the staff was helpful.

Review 67:The only thing I wasn't so happy about was there was a large red wine stain on our carpet. But they cleaned it up and didn't charge me for valet because of it.

Review 68:Our room was beautiful and huge! I was so shocked at how large our room was and the view of the city was amazing! Also, breakfast was a 10!

Review 69:I didn't like the fact that I could not find a vending machine anywhere. We came in late after seeing a rock show, and of course, we were tired and hungry and thirsty. We didn't want to walk up the street to the store because there were some unsavory people lurking about, who were constantly wanting to bum something from us earlier that day, and considering we were late, we were a little uneasy about the possibility of getting robbed, since there are signs there that insist you hide your belongings and lock your car doors. The hotel can't help this, but when we got back, I noticed a sign that said vending machine and ice, so I followed it, and found only an ice maker. I went to all three floors that said there was vending and ice available, and all floors only had an ice maker. Charlotte hotels are overpriced for what you get. I've stayed in other cities and paid half as much for a hotel room just as nice. They also charge 20 bucks for valet, which I don't know if that's standard, but at the price you pay for the hotel, it should be included. People would probably more likely tip the valet, if they did not have to pay for parking.

Review 70:The staff was pleasant and friendly.

Review 71:Staff was inconsistent and even management was caught telling lies to cover their mistakes. Very uncooperative to deal with us since booking was through a third party with booking.com. Pool small and dirty.

Review 72:I didn't like the LOCATION of the "entrance". There was hair on the comforter and there was a panty liner in the bathroom trash can. At least the 2nd car should be comp'd if the price is to remain $20.00 per night especially when the vehicles are parked outside and NOT in a secure area. Had to access 12th floor Ice Machine because the one on my floor wasn't operable. No LATE check-out offered.... can't get them all perfect I guess!!

Review 73:I do reviews at every hotel I spend my money on because it helps me determine where I will stay next.... (Charlotte, NC location) 4/5 STARS FROM ME!! The Valet was GREAT....The STAFF was great!! Smiles from the time I walked off the elevator... Very helpful and anxious to be helpful. She was informative and did her job well...Check-in was a breeze. I can't remember the young ladys' name that assisted me at check-in on the 10th floor but she was beyond PLEASANT!! The place itself is very nice, hallways are nice, spacious and neat. The room was immaculate. Nice sized bathroom. CLEAN BATHROOMS win me over every time.... you NAILED IT!! I will def consider this facility in the future.

Review 74:I booked several rooms on Booking.com and made some changes four days prior to our arrival but when we arrived, the hotel didn't have record of some of the changes and it made our check-in very lengthy and confusing.

Review 75:I really liked the large comfortable rooms; especially the sofa and sitting area. The hotel staff were friendly and courteous and everything seemed very clean. The rooftop pool and view were wonderful!

Review 76:there is a full kitchen but it's not usable so is pretty much a waste of space. some cooktop hobs didn't work, and the utensils and other equipment provided were lacking eg no sharp knives or cutting boards. Also - the pool was terrible - I can't imagine anyone wanting to swim in it, which is a shame because rooftop pools are all the rage! you could really do something amazing with it, to modernise the place.

Review 77:location and the size of the rooms. the hotel accommodated various requests by our friends to deliver flowers and champagne and the timing of this was perfect so we really appreciate the effort.

Review 78:I had no bad experiences I Think some of the staff was better than others

Review 79:I really enjoyed the breakfast! Sometimes free breakfasts aren't always a good value!

Review 80:Came for a bachelorette weekend. The hotel was clean and very modern. Six of us ladies stayed comfortably in the queen suite which was 2 beds and a comfy pull out couch. Unfortunately the weather in our hometown turned for the worse and we had to cut our trip short. The staff willingly (without further discussion) refunded our money on the second night. Totally awesome! I will be back :)

Review 81:Hyatt Place afforded a spectacular downtown view of buildings with light-rail trains coming and going. The hotel had a quiet ambiance, and well-stocked breakfast was; seating was very comfortable in the breakfast area as I enjoyed a complimentary copy of the Wall Street Journal.

Review 82:No hot water; after about 5 minutes of letting it run full throttle, I got a lukewarm shower. A staff who tried to tell me how to pronounce my own name at checkin & checkout. ???? Very confused by lobby on 10th floor, & not being sure I was in the right place, by appearance of first floor and gravel parking lot.Yes, there were valet guys outside parking cars, but only indication on 1st floor is that it's a hotel are the Hyatt doormats in front of the elevator.

Review 83:All but one staff very cute us and helpful, even fun! Room service food was great!

Review 84:Breakfast was very nice but forks and food not quickly replaced when they ran out. (25 min before breakfast was over) Bathroom sliding door not working properly. (not reported)

Review 85:Loved the room size! Valet parking was very efficient and staff most pleasant. Loved the Fahrenheit restaurant and view on the rooftop!!

Review 86:Beds were hard and pillows uncomfortable.

Review 87:The rooms were spacious and offerred great views of Downtown. The location was perfect because we were going to the Bank of America stadium for a football game

Review 88:Really nothing

Review 89:Very clean hotel. It has fair valet prices that allow coming and going and is in a nice location. It is exactly what you'd expect from one of the nicer Hyatts. The breakfast was fantastic

Review 90:I was not a fan of the $20 valet parking, no self parking or free parking.

Review 91:Great price. Beautiful hotel. Prefect location and walking distance to entertainment.

Review 92:The view from the room was incredible. Valet parking was very convenient since the hotel was already downtown, we never had to take the car out. The room was clean and very comfortable! The breakfast was excellent.

Review 93:Very small pool and hard to locate. Staff was rude and often talking about inappropriate things while gests were around. Breakfast was nasty.

Review 94:Very clean and comfortable beds.

Review 95:Difficult to check in. Lobby on 10th floor, and not easy to leave the car out. Breakfast buffet capacity insufficient. Incorrect booking rate entered on bill, which I had to sort at check out.

Review 96:Clean room, good bed

Review 97:Although the breakfast attendant was excellent, I was a little surprised at the lack of variety of hot breakfast items. They ran out of bacon -and ther was no sausage and the eggs were pretty dry.

Review 98:After hundreds of nights in hotels around the world, this was the first one I've been to with a lobby on the 10th floor. The breakfast attendant was excellent... great attitude... wonderful for the Hyatt name!!!

Review 99:"Kitchenette" only has mini drink refrigerator. No microwave, dishes, napkins, glasses...just drink refrigerator. There as also no vent in the bathroom. No vending or ice on our floor. @4-hour market was nice but the burgers were served on hard white bread instead of a burger bun and the tomatoes were soured.

Review 100:We wanted to book an extra night but the hotel staff said we could only re-book online.

Review 101:Excellent location and value for money. The hotel was very clean, breakfast varied a little every day and the staff were really helpful. Lovely roof terrace with swimming pool, restaurant and views.

Review 102:Breakfast buffet was ok. Expected a little bit better. Eggs were good, but no meat or potatoes. Toaster didn't work well, juice was watered down. Not bad, but should be better. Also, sign said ice and vending on 8th floor, but only ice, no vending. Fortunately there was snacks and drinks in the lobby.

Review 103:Location, bar and snacks in lobby.

Review 104:Did not like the fact that when the reservation was made it was known that the hotel only had valet parking but it never stated that there would be a charge for the service which added more on to the price of the room.

Review 105:The room was great. Very clean and comfortable.

Review 106:Hard to fault. Breakfast buffet didn't have a vast selection but still good

Review 107:Great location and rooms were big and very clean. Staff very friendly

Review 108:$20 to park your car, even though we had booked a room. Parking is pretty poor all around, but parking should be included if you are a guest

Review 109:People and location was great

Review 110:The breakfast wasn't that great.. the pancakes were cold and hard and there wasn't much variety.

Review 111:The rooms were relaxing and I enjoyed the view of Charlotte. The bathroom had great water pressure and was very nicely decorated.

Review 112:10th floor to check in. Hard to find hotel. Ask how to get to Tw building was across 2 parking lots and the lady showed us the opitst way.$40.00 to park was just a little munch+ hotel was high also.

Review 113:One of the elevators was broken for most of the time we were there. When checking in the guy didn't really explain where the amenities of the hotel were, he just complained about other people checking in.

Review 114:The location was awesome for our concert at time warner cable arena! The room was HUGE and very comfy!

Review 115:My arrival was extremely delayed and the staff was VERY helpful in accommodating all the way from adjusting my arrival to check in! Was honestly such a great feeling to be treated so well and to see such a clean, comfortable room!

Review 116:Did not have a hot tub or nice pool. Also, when we called the front desk to see if the pool was open the man said "yes, if you know how to act".That was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional.

Review 117:Liked the comfort and cleanliness of the room.

Review 118:Lobby on the 10th floor, really!!! Understaffed every time I called the front desk I was asked to hold. Room serves from the restaurant was nonexistence. Gloomy and dark, no hotel vibe awful.

Review 119:Very nice staff.

Review 120:We had a noise complaint which we were playing music but it was not loud enough for a complaint. Also at the end of the night I waited 15 minutes before valet took my car.

Review 121:I like the location and how close it is to the epicenter.

Review 122:Would have been nice to have a microwave in the bedroom

Review 123:This is a great Hotel with the best views of uptown especially at night. Having one of the best restaurants in the city on the rooftop overlooking the city was amazing. Excellent staff, hotel and rooms. Exceeded our expectations

Review 124:I think it's crazy the only parking available is through valet! They were great so I definitely did not mind it, but it was quite a surprise when we couldn't park our cars in a parking lot and were told we'd have to pay $20 for someone to park our car.

Review 125:Excellent location. Very friendly staff! Beautiful hotel!

Review 126:The air conditioning in the room was extremely loud and breakfast was closer to a 2 star hotel than a Hyatt.

Review 127:Nice, clean room, good wi-fi and great location! Fahrenheit restaurant is in the same building; great food and lovely view over Charlotte skyline.

Review 128:Staff did not let us know to use the other elevator to get to our room, should inform guest which one to use. Also, we had to pay $20 for parking which should be free with stay.

Review 129:Location, big comfortable rooms and great breakfast.

Review 130:I booked thru a third party website and when I arrived at the hotel...the gentleman who greeted me at the front desk said my information wasn't in the system. I got scared as he made it sound like I might not have a room because he has to accommodate flight crew from the airport. I was pleased to be checked in early after that situation so I could take a quick nap before the soccer match I was attending.

Review 131:Check out staff was extremely friendly. A tall African-American gentleman gave me a great tip for food by suggesting a diner.

Review 132:Location was walking distance to the Epicenter and many other facilities. Breakfast had a good variety of food items. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 133:Tricky to navigate, with slow elevators, and having to change elevators to access restaurant/pool. Stairs and pool hard to find.

Review 134:My one bedroom suite was enormous. Breakfast and snack bar were good and convenient. Rooftop pool was very cool.
