Reviews for First Hotel Christian IV

Review 1:No bad experience at this hotel - beautiful and quiet

Review 2:Mia the receptionist was extremely helpful and let me have a room early - about 11am - check in is officially 3pm.

Review 3:The tiniest bit of feedback I have would be to update the old school hair dryer.

Review 4:What a great place to stay. The service was fantastic. Sandra in particular was outstanding! The room was spacious and the hotel was in a great location close to everything.

Review 5:Room quality is bad. First room on 5th floor was very dark & bed was ok for a superior room. Tv was an old tv, not flatscreen. Squeaking floor. Bathroom was very basic. No ventilation. Shower very basic. Asked to moved to better room. Got a slighty bbetter room, with a nice balcony, but an extremely small bed. Same squeaky floors & poor quality bathroom & shower. Lift is very slow & has a very bad smell. Lobby carpets & stair carpets are very old & worn & some areas stained.

Review 6:Friendly service with a smile. Free fresh coffee & tea in reception area. Breakfast was very good.

Review 7:blind in bedroom window broken. pillows the size of postage stamps. windows frames falling apart and rotten, no restaurant

Review 8:very friendly staff, breakfast was good, nice and quiet

Review 9:The hotel is rather run down and in bad need for a complete renovation. The building is magnificent but not the maintenance of it.

Review 10:Very friendly and helpfull staff.

Review 11:Shower sometimes went cold

Review 12:Great location with helpful staff and free tea & coffee from lobby

Review 13:Very dated interior, warm room, bus stop outside the room so no sleep with an open window.

Review 14:Friendly staff

Review 15:no restaurant,

Review 16:wi-fi, room view, reception staff, parking

Review 17:Beautiful interiors and nice location, near railway station and close to the city center. Recommendable!

Review 18:The rooms were odd with slanted roofs and 1970 tv - it seemed to suit the hotel

Review 19:Great friendly staff with interesting knowledge of the hotel and town

Review 20:Old, worn out furniture Would have been nice if the rooms had been restored. Mediocre breakfast

Review 21:Nice facade, good location. Some of the staff were very helpful

Review 22:* Lacked a sofa in front of TV (old CRT-type, ~22-24"). Instead there where two armchair in front of the window in the next room, and TV was supposed to be watch from bed (but with a viewing distance of ~4 metres that would have been to far for such a small TV set). * Absolutely no noise dampening from bathroom into room - every sound was heard. * Corridor sounds (people walking by and talking at normal voice level) was heard into the room, I could hear almost every syllable in their conversation. * Noise from lift (machinery and doors) was heard into our room from several floors below. * Very poor darkening possibilities in the room. At sunrise (0500) it was light enough to read in the room, with all available blinds and curtains closed and no lamps. Safe to say, almost impossible to go back to sleep then! * Must have been 20 years since last renovation of our room, everything was old. Paint cracked. Bathroom wall tiles had numerous old holes from earlier wall hangings. Conclusion: The hotel has possibilities but at the current state it was definitely NOT worth the price for us (1476 SEK for one night two persons).

Review 23:Very near to the train station and to town center. Great-looking building with old-fashion charm. The bed was made up nicely and was comfortable. Lofty room (Superior Twin Room, 28m2) Staff was professional and friendly

Review 24:We stayed during a Saturday night. It was very noisy from the park across the street due to a lot of "greasers" with big and old cars. Difficult to sleep.

Review 25:we got a very nice room on the top floor with a new. The staff was nice and friendly.

Review 26:Maybee a bit more atmosfhere!! The reception area very dark - we had expected more life, light and people. The hotel needs more soul - then it would be exellent.

Review 27:The room was fine. Exellent bed. Nice sice of the room even it was called a small one. Breakfast good!! Fantastic building with an exiting history.Very central.

Review 28:old room, old bathroom ( especially shower), several lights didn't work. Quite expensive for what it offers ( but Sweden is expensive)

Review 29:good reception, helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast with good choice, all very tasty. Good bed. Good location at the other side of the road from the train station.

Review 30:At least 1 hour to wait for a cab at 16.00 hours when reception called. Then ofcourse we called a taxi ourselves and was picked up within 10 minutes. The hotel is not prioritized.

Review 31:Nice breakfast Location Price is very good

Review 32:Threadbare curtains Carpet so thin that was a threat to stability (in room) Stair carpet very stained
