Reviews for Chase Park Plaza Hotel

Review 1:The hotel while overall relatively clean, our bathroom had a sticky spot on the floor in it. The housekeeping crew (I tipped every day) did not empty the melted ice bucket, and just should have fine tuned some of their cleaning

Review 2:The staff was excellent, knowledgeable and very customer focused. The facility is excellent and having a movie theatre there was fabulous.

Review 3:I had to ask for both a refrigerator which did not get cold and a TV remote. The ice machine didn't work on my floor. There are a lot of steps and ramps which are not easy to maneuver. Be prepared to walk.

Review 4:Comfortable room with a very nice bed. Beautiful place. Nice people.

Review 5:Staying at the hotel was a classy experience--from the warm hospitality to the elegant decor. It is a grand throwback to the past. Can't wait to return.

Review 6:The first day housekeeping skipped us and we didn't get any service. There was holes in our curtains and the toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall- it just showed that it was not kept up to its perceived standards. The front desk person seemed to not know how Booking.com worked.

Review 7:The Chaser's bar staff were very nice. We got to watch a movie in the theatre. The staff overall were friendly. The location of the hotel is ideal for visiting St. Louis.

Review 8:The furnishings were are a little battered looking and in some cases sort of worn and dingy. The room layout was very odd and a bit awkward. The handle came off the closet. Few TV channels. No minibar and also no frig even though there was a space for one and I saw a guy in the hall saying he was restocking minibars. What minibars? Not in my room. Because room facing pool very noisy Friday night, even on 6th floor. But these are minor. Overall was great.

Review 9:I love the convenience of so many things right there in the hotel, Straub's (for groceries, snacks, etc.) across the street, restaurants, room service, soa, in room movies, robes when I asked. Housekeeping was OUTSTANDING! Responded to requests immediately and serviced the room late in day. Loved the upgrade I got without even asking! Staff were all terrific. Lovely view of pool. Luxurious and comfortable. Love cinema on property!

Review 10:Petty surcharges. Incredibly frustrating to be charged for everything including 40:hr internet in business center with $1/p printing. Courtesy services at much lesser chains. Exorbitant charges for parking in garage which is a hike to main building. Fragmented older building with different elevators for most services. To actually use services at the building plan on much higher rate than quoted.

Review 11:Great location. Beautiful facilities.

Review 12:Everything It reminds me the old dusty palace in Europe in the 18th century

Review 13:Nothing It is classified as an historical property actually it is really everything is historical even the comfort and maybe the dust which looks like to be there for ages

Review 14:Room is dated and not very clean. Dust covered all tables esp glass top. Hairs on couch. Toilet handle kept disconnecting so had to lift off top to reconnect before flushing...kind of gross!

Review 15:Location, size of room and amenities. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. Restaurant good. Nice pool!

Review 16:Valet parking was the only parking option and rather expensive ($27); noise from the outdoor restaurant seating area was disruptive until late into the night

Review 17:Very comfortable, well-appointed rooms in an excellent location

Review 18:Paying for Wifi is seriously dated, especially in a luxury hotel. And the quality of the connection was very poor. Cable did not work properly in the hotel room either.

Review 19:I've stayewd there many times and am sad to see the facility and it's service tiring. no one showed up twice when called for something.

Review 20:location, location

Review 21:The only problem was there was no refrigerator in the room. We had great leftovers from the Tenderloin Room, but couldn't take them due to that. When commented on as we checked out, staff didn't care. That was the only problem

Review 22:We love staying in the Park Plaza side: very elegant and beautifully decorated

Review 23:I can't tell anything wrong

Review 24:The location and the building is georgeus, you have everything in one place. The food is very good everything was excellent and beyond

Review 25:Hair dryer and TV didn't work. Booking.com reservation for two rooms did not cross over correctly but Chase fixed it. Valet parking understaffed and we waited 14 min for our car when we called ahead

Review 26:Location. Staff. Rooms

Review 27:The check in was extremely slow for no apparent reason and they did not apologize for it. With a reservation, they need an ID and a credit care and they should hand you the key. Should be 5 minutes I waited 15-20 in line. People around me said it is always this way. Check in staff seemed clueless and confused.

Review 28:Its a beautiful old hotel. Dated in some ways but clean and tastefully decorated. My room was small for a double but adequate.

Review 29:The hallways could use a good cleaning.

Review 30:I appreciated that the staff changed my noisy room to a very quiet one after a 20 hour journey to St. Louis. The room was just fine. Staff was very friendly.

Review 31:This was the tiniest hotel room I have ever seen. Way too small for 2 people buffet brkfst is mediocre

Review 32:location is awesome pool is great staff is great

Review 33:Even though the hotel ran a low occupancy the night we checked in we were put in a room right next to an elevator. We were sleep deprived the night day due to the noise.

Review 34:The staff was very professional, curtous and polite. The Chase Club was excellent.

Review 35:We checked in at 3 am due to travel delays. Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted by the courteous staff and within 10 minutes we were comfortably in our room.

Review 36:We had one bedroom suite, it was quite pricey, the bed was full-sized despite it being a deluxe suite and not very comfy, bathroom also pretty small.

Review 37:Love the building and the staff was very polite, bartender was friendly and the lobby was lively as it was graduation weekend - we got in town late and had to leave early the next morning so we just didn't get to enjoy much of what they had to offer!

Review 38:Room was dirty, dust which was more than a couple of days old on glass work tops, found sweets on floor of bedroom and living room which did not belong to us, clearly the room had not been cleaned to a standard expected from this type of hotel, carpets in hall way and rooms could do with a deep clean, again not something expected from a hotel of this standard

Review 39:Local area was upmarket with lots of options to eat out at night

Review 40:paying for wi fi when it's free at mcdonald's is really pretty much a joke in the twenty first century, especially for a hotel catering to educated and knowledgeable travelers.

Review 41:loved the front desk staff, remy and Jason. the upgrade and view Jason provided would make us consider visiting again! Jason also sent complimentary earl grey tea that was delicious! he was awesome. the office space in our suite was sweet! chairs and bed were very comfortable and though we heard traffic through the windows, the room was quiet as far as surrounding activity.

Review 42:Wifi should be an included amenity, not a revenue stream for a hotel claiming 4 stars.

Review 43:Location, cleanliness, and space in the suite were all high points. The pool was very nice and the movie theater was a big plus with the kids.

Review 44:Room service breakfast just ok but arrived on time and complete. The room was very comfortable but dark - rooms could use more light.

Review 45:Carrie, the concierge, was very helpful and pleasant as were the front desk crew. Housekeeping did a great job and were also very cordial.

Review 46:Front desk staff wasn't particularly welcoming. Felt like they were just performing a job.

Review 47:Right at the edge of Forest Park, convenient for a run (or walk). Our room was very comfortable and quiet. The bed could have been a bit more firm but it did the trick.

Review 48:No fridge. No Coffee. NO CUP not even for use in bathroom - to brush teeth. How can a 4 star hotel not have room Coffee/ tea or Fridge? Old dirty Carpet in public areas.

Review 49:Size of room. Bed dressing Super size windows with good views but saw only street and construction nearby.

Review 50:Horrible place old nasty bed wth one blanket the coverlet no internet no pool could not get a refund and was stuck there for two nights.

Review 51:Nothing it was very overpriced and staff did not respond to any issues. Bed was very old room was tiny with oversized furniture. No wifi and no pool. If you are planning on staying in St Louis do not stay here it was hands down the worst place ive ever stayed. Pictures are false. I wish I was warned.

Review 52:Very small room. We booked the deluxe room but it was not deluxe at all. The room was tiny, much smaller than expected and what it was priced at. Our room was nothing special.

Review 53:Beautiful hotel, excellent spa and restaurants.

Review 54:It does not meet the expectation for a hotel of its standing. Outdated, poor service, bad food, cheap furniture in rooms, bathrooms do not meet the expected. For the rating and price of the hotel it definetly did not meet expectations. If this hotel would have a lower rating it would be ok, but it definetly is not ruled by high standards. Very average, dissapointing to pay for this.

Review 55:The cinema

Review 56:I love the hotel because of its history and everything that i needed was either provided by the Hotel. Entertainment, food, and drink where all provided at the hotel... There also many great restaurants, shops, and bars just around the corner.. Wonderful..We even stayed a extra night...

Review 57:We had room service knocking on our door Saturday morning at 9:30am asking when we were leaving and seemed frustrated when we said 30 minutes. The check out time is 11am. I'm sure this is s.o.p. but I've never check out of a room late and I felt I was being pushed out the door.

Review 58:Jason at the front desk was very welcoming and polite, the bar and food were great. The room was are nice and the bed was comfortable

Review 59:The bed was very squeaky!

Review 60:The hotel is so close to many things in the city including the Fabulous Fox Theatre where we were seeing a musical. Our suite was cozy and it was nice to have options within the hotel on a cold evening.

Review 61:You can't deny that there is a world-renowned hospital next door, as the ambulances worked through the night. In addition to that, our smoke detector started beeping at 2:30 in the morning, so rather than redress for maintenance, I had to dismantle the battery myself.

Review 62:The property is beautiful and the staff is very accommodating.

Review 63:The vallet was alittle high in price or u had to pay 18 for parking which is ridiculous if u are a quest of the hotel

Review 64:The people were friendly and it was beautiful. We had a great experience.

Review 65:Don't have free wifi! It's 2015, every hotel especially at this price point should have free wifi.

Review 66:Most comfortable bed that I've ever slept in at a hotel. Nice place all around and we loved the cinema!

Review 67:room was somewhat inconvenient, e.g., if someone slept in fold out bed (in front room(, they had to come through the bedroom to use the bathroom, room was somewhat dark, took a while to get hot water in shower, we stayed in older section of hotel with a bad view, hallway looked like it had seen better days

Review 68:great location, nice neighborhood nice bar movie in house

Review 69:The housekeeping staff did not perform up to par. We ran out of toilet paper and had to use Kleenex. They only have us one soap bar for both bath and sink along with one wash cloth. I wrote a note to ask for more then after that came the toilet paper issue. Other then that the hotel itself was great.

Review 70:Everything We went to the movies twice while in the hotel. We ate thanksgiving dinner in the Tenderloin which was excellent. Stayed a total of 4 days and wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 71:Hotel rooms need update

Review 72:If you want an elegant hotel with lots of restaurants, bars, a movie theater in the best area of St Louis the Chase is for you. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our suite looked tired however and needed an update.

Review 73:I tried to take the stairs not realizing the door would lock behind me and I couldn't exit below without triggering an emergency alarm. Fortunately a housekeeper saw me enter the stairwell and rescued me. Need better signage.

Review 74:Beautiful hotel with outstanding service from every emloyee.

Review 75:Loved this hotel the last few times I stayed there. But This time was very disappointing. Stayed in 1 bedroom suite. Sofa bed had an old thin cotton blanket - had to ask for another one 3 times. When it came it was one of those stiff foam ones that was as old as the hills and it wasn't even folded. Only provided one pillow for it. Two out of 3 lights were out over the bathroom mirror. Housekeeping never changed them, left only one coffee cup for 2 people and didn't replace glasses with clean ones. When I gave the list of problems to the woman when we checked out she didn't even apologize. This was at best a Holiday Inn Express experience. Certainly not 4 star.

Review 76:Service - or lack of prompt, efficient responsiveness - not consistent with the quality of the hotel. All Front Desk activities - check in; rekeying room keys; providing change - were exceptionally slow. The Suite lacked robes; ample glassware; hangers, and working light bulbs ... all were eventually provided upon request, but we should not have had to ask.

Review 77:I have previously lived in this neighborhood and I simply love it. The hotel has charm and character not found in newer, comparably priced properties.

Review 78:Front desk staff were asked twice about something I left in my room and was never contacted back. Leaving the garage I was told I would not need anything, I had to ask to get out of the garage. I was not the only one. They charge for everthing, even Wifi.

Review 79:Room very nice and comfortable.

Review 80:This establishment is good for business or couple travels...I did not feel as though they were tailored for families at all.

Review 81:Extremely nice and friendly staff...Great amenities...comfortable room

Review 82:Nothing

Review 83:The view was great and the bed was wonderful. It was nice & quite !! Since it was my husband's birthday & our anniversary it made our trip.

Review 84:A/C did not work the first night. Was miserable. There were not enough accomodations at the pool. Kids wanted to swim so we went down, there were no seats available, people were sitting and laying on towels on the cement. The coffee being sold at the breakfast bar was undrinkable. The employee tried to make a latte twice, we gave up and walked to the coffee shop down the road. She still charged me for it! Would recommend for adult stay, not with young kids.

Review 85:Very clean. Helpful staff. Huge room, but tiny bathroom.

Review 86:Size of room. We've stayed at the Chase quite a few times, this was the smallest room we've ever had. The room wasn't very clean either, particularly the bathroom.

Review 87:Pool, Cafe Eau, gym, lobby, location, restaurants in the neighborhood, pretty much everything. We had a great weekend!!!

Review 88:Did not re-stock coffee Although there was a list of minibar products - they were nowhere to be seen A little noisy

Review 89:Location is amazing room very nice and comfortable

Review 90:I specified, when I booked, that it was our 1st wedding anniversary, and needed a king size bed, but they gave away our room. They then tried to "upgrade" us to a queen bed suite. I calmly explained to the counter personnel the circumstances and, magically, there was a king bed available...on the "top floor" (Floor 9 of 11)?... This was an older room than I have stayed in before. Carpet was torn, and wallpaper in bathroom was peeling. Not as quality of a stay as I had experienced before. Also, they charged $18 for parking? That's a little ridiculous to gouge hotel guests for parking....

Review 91:Location

Review 92:Great location, great staff.

Review 93:Room was very small but well-appointed

Review 94:Beautiful hotel in lovely neighborhood

Review 95:The furniture was a bit dated.

Review 96:The lobby was really nice.

Review 97:The room was very spacious

Review 98:Tub had nothing to keep from slipping ,No hand bar in Shower ,nor would it drain after showering .I Had to call for Coffee to make coffee in the AM .

Review 105:It is old school tradition.

Review 106:Elevators were old.

Review 107:The friendly staff and the facilities were outstanding.

Review 108:Fold-out bed had no linens, hair on bathroom floor AFTER maid service

Review 109:Front office staff, valet

Review 110:Excellent, classic old hotel. Great service, elegant ambiance, perfect location.

Review 111:Don't think that one should pay for parking garage if self-parking.

Review 112:Nice location

Review 113:Gorgeous ambience wish th pool stayed open til 10

Review 114:When I had to leave...

Review 115:Excellent hotel with a very friendly staff

Review 116:Never received room service even after requesting it 2x

Review 117:Great area

Review 118:The pool was beautiful! The suites were good size with ample furniture. Had a great time!

Review 119:The friendly staff and clean accommodations. The valet people were great.

Review 120:A great location near places to eat out. And near Forest Park

Review 121:Only downer was charging wifi per device, seems a little outdated

Review 122:The rooms are very cramped and the bedding is poor quality.

Review 123:The location is fabulous. Half of the rooms are updated and lovely.

Review 124:There was blood on my bed sheets

Review 125:At least there was a cinema

Review 126:Good free evening entertainment next to bar.

Review 127:I thought the rooms were dirty. There were tons of crumbs under the furniture. The bathrooms were filthy.

Review 128:I liked the location of the hotel

Review 129:Staff was very friendly and helpful

Review 130:The views, my group was a little loud, but the security was very polite in asking us to keep it down which we did. I overall enjoyed myself.
