Review 7：There was a very elderly lady that checked us in. Our tub had not been cleaned and there was no shower head, which made it impossible to shower. You couldn't adjust the stream for it wouldn't move.

I told the woman that she was the one that confirmed the reservation because there was no mistaking her voice, and she denied it! The Inn looks nothing like the picture. It is run down and filthy looking.

We didn't have toilet paper .when registering for the room it doesn't give you a distribution of what the room has like iron , hair dryer etc. but for the location the price of room it was worth it. No remote for tv. Nodaily maid service.If not for all the other local hotels being sold out, we would not have stayed. We plan to return in the summertime and definitely staying somewhere else. We enjoyed Helen , the entertainment and the food. WE WOULD NEVER REFER ANYONE THE ALPINE INN. IT WAS ATROCIOUS! !!!

She then told us she had no vacancies even though we had a confirmed booking. She did not seem bothered that we were now stranded with nowhere to stay. Review 23：Where would you start. This place is very old and run down. The rooms have mold and mildew. The wall paper is peeling off of the wall. There was no soap or shampoo in the room. The tub drain was clogged with hair and looked as if it had not been cleaned in years. Same for the toilet. Should be condemned!

Review 29：They advertised free breakfast, they do not serve a breakfast. The rooms were old and run down. The staff was slow and took 45 minutes to greet us waiting to check in. We ended up cancelling the room and staying somewhere else. They were out of date and not comfortable. Beds were so low to the ground it was difficult to sit or get up.
Review 30：We liked the couple that ran the motel. They are really nice and helpful. The motel was very close to everything. It wasn't the Hilton but was super cute and simple. We loved the decor of the room. Great price for the location. Look forward to staying there again!

Review 32：It looked nothing like the pictures, I didn't expect much, but I hadn't planned on the rooms being in the condition that they were. Upon arrival, the grounds of the hotel were overgrown, there was visible trash, dirty diapers, ect. The rooms were very outdated, and smelled of mildew. The mini fridge hadn't been thawed in a very long time, the ice was frozen over a 3 inches. During our stay we wore our flip flops or socks, thank goodness I brought 2 bed sheets, that is what we used as a barrier at night. For our showers, we limited them to less than 5 minutes, the location was the only positive aspect. I will never stay at this location again.

Review 34：As much as I liked this elderly lady, the conditions of the motel were a fright. It seems to have gone to the dogs. The pictures listed here and everywhere else on the net are from (guessing) 1985, when everything was fresh and new. The room was comfortable temperature-wise and it had plenty of seating (2 oddly placed wicker sets). There were stacks of oddly placed furniture (storage?) in the corners. We were stuck, as there were no more rooms available anywhere in town. We went out for a few hours then came back to get some sleep. I have a bad back, as does my husband and we had a rough night of it. The mattress was very old and the pillows were very worn and flat. I was up every 2 hours, pacing the floor because of the pain I was feeling. I felt as if we were staying the night with an old relative who didn't get out much. We've done that before, out of respect but when a person is paying for the privilege of sleeping on "old Aunt Mary's guest bed" it had better be worth it. Sadly, it was not. I wish I'd have seen all the bad reviews of this place before ever booking it!
Review 35：The lady who runs it is elderly. She seems to need some help running the place. She is very friendly. We initially knocked and knocked, got no answer. Then I called to let her know we were there, outside her door. She unlocked it and invited us inside. It is close to a lot of restaurants and shops.

Review 40：The facilities were run down, not as advertised. Patience and good humor is definitely a virtue here. There were cheese balls under the dressers, a tv on the floor in the bathroom, none of the decorations matched. We were expecting a continental breakfast but a questionable box of donuts and a thermos of coffee sitting in the office was a stretch. The tv remote was missing and there were only 2 channels working on the tv. No radio or alarm clock. Not even sure the smoke alarm was working.
Review 41：Manager was friendly and helpful. Facility was in a great location. On the plus side, we got to see a bear in the courtyard. if you don't plan to spend much time in the room, it's a place to lay your head. Might want to take your own towels, soap and sheets.
Review 42：The bed was lopsided and the carpet appeared to be from the 70''s. The tv only had 13 channels and there was no remote. The bathroom had cobwebs and the room overall smelled. I wouldn't recommend room 6! Also make sure you check the key! Ours didn't work for the deadbolt.

Review 45：This was the dirtiest place I've ever been to. The bed had old food in it, the carpet had small dark droppings everywhere. It was so dirty I didn't even feel comfortable walking in. Needless to say we checked out within 5 minutes of checking in.

It was grimy. We went to Walmart and bought sheets and pillows. The bed was hard as a rock and so uncomfortable. The grounds were very junky as well. We stayed out of the place as much as possible. Was very disappointed considering it was $80 for one night.

We had to knock very loudly to get the office personnel to open the door only to be told she was booked , no vacancy I told her I had confirmation she just keep saying no room I had made the reservation 2 weeks prior that being said there was not a room in the area within 75 miles in any direction we had to drive back down the mountain to Athens to spend the night I just don't understand how we could have been told we had a confirmation when in truth we did not !

Review 55：The pictures of the place must be from its grand opening 30 years ago. Look at the two yelp reviews. Holes in the wals, busted light fixtures, crumbs on the floor, and that room that has been shut up for several months smell.

Review 57：One lady ran it by herself. We had no towels in the room, when we got some they smelled awful. There was no light in the bathroom and no one to fix it. My husband went and got a bulb and fixed it. The complintmary breakfeast was little debbie cakes and powdered donunuts. The walls had sticky paper beach sceens and was pilling off at the cornes and seams. The door was hard to open and even harder to shut. The key was manual and we had to spend some time wiggling and twisting to get the lock opened. The carpet was very nasty looking. The room smelled old and musty.

Then she told us she didnt have the double bed room we reserved only a king bed after telling us she didnt have our reservation . She did not once look at the computer to see if our reservation was there she didnt even let us in the office we had to stand outside in the heat to talk to her.

I said but I have a reservation so how could it be booked?, she said I don't know but do not have any rooms and told me to go somewhere else. The place was cluttered and dirty. And she was just rude!

Review 75：When my husband and I first arrived, my husband had his doubts as the Alpine looked like it had seen better days from the outside and neglected which it was but Julia, our hostess made up for the lack of looks with her sweet disposition. Although the rooms and buildings were is sore need of renovating, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable enough and the air conditioning worked, the shower worked, so we were quite satisfied and would probably stay there again if we were in the area for a day or two.

The lady in the office did not even check her computer to see if we did in fact have a room reserved. She just said they had already booked all their room and turned us away.

We finally were taken to a new room which was in just an appalling state, but at least the door locked. We laugh about it now, but we should have just left and got something cleaner and more comfortable, but thought as it was the Christmas Market, all the rooms were booked out in other hotels! Never again!
Review 97：Wasn't the cleanest place to stay, but for the price you won't find a better place located right in town. It wasn't nasty or anything, just wasn't a 4 or 5 star hotel. So if you're okay with that like my girlfriend and I were then you'll love the place.
Review 98：The place was in a great location, we pretty much walked everywhere in and around town. The lady that runs the place was extremely nice and fun to talk to. Yall be sure to be very nice to her, she does a lot on her own. Has a nice charcoal grill with lighter fluid and plenty of charcoal with a very nice area to hangout at and have a nice cookout. Absolutely loved the stay and didn't want to leave.
Review 99：Not enough light at all; it seemed clean enough but I like for motels to use white towels so I can at least think they have been bleached. Fridge worked great even though pretty old.When we got there the room smelled really musty but the manager gave me a spray that worked and did not have a lingering scent.
