Reviews for The Moonrise Hotel
Review 1:The rooms were slightly dusty and beds were not made right. Pillows were lumpy as well. Also room was a little cramped and the mini fridge sounded like it was gasping for breath
Review 2:Staff was polite and location was very good
Review 3:I guess I booked it on a wrong day there was nothing going on in the area and the hotel was quite average nothing special, strange theme
Review 4:Nice hotel but nothing special
Review 5:Nothing, really. We've told many family and friends about the how neat (meaning COOL) the hotel was and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in that area.
Review 6:The decor (outstanding!!) and theme, the cleanliness, and helpfulness of the staff. Convenient location, if you're going to stay in The Loop.
Review 7:They don't have coffee service in the morning. They have a machine that didn't have the necessary supplies. Also they rented out the roof bar for a wedding on a Saturday night which put a damper on our plans that night.
Review 8:Nice room. Nice common space. Bar on the roof and part of th restaurant was great.
Review 9:The room seemed pricey but the bar and food was in line for prices in the area.
Review 10:The modern up to date rooms. The bar atmosphere and the overall good vibe of the place. Great location
Review 11:I was told that an additional $50 would be charged to my credit card when we checked in. The charge was to be for incidentals and removed after 3 days?? I had two rooms with one vehicle. I was charged twice for valet parking. When I called, the charge was immediately removed.
Review 12:Wonderful, quiet and comfortable room. Relaxing rainfall shower
Review 13:Stayed in rm 203. This is just above entrance area of hotel. Group of 5 or 6 smokers/loud talkers too loud until 330am.
Review 14:Modern décor, friendly and accommodating front desk people
Review 15:We were on the 7th floor just below the roof bar, so there was some noise at night.
Review 16:Loved the location. The hotel is in the heart of The Loop, with lots of vintage shops and restaurants. Wonderful kitschy decor. Free pubic parking available. Safe to walk around the neighborhood at night. Convenient to Forest Park and the Fine Arts museum.
Review 17:We take mini-vacation getaways to St. Louis from Columbia a few times a year, and we've stayed in many chain hotels. We will only stay at the Moonrise from now on. The central location makes everything in the city a quick trip if you are traveling by car, plus the free parking was a welcome surprise. The extremely clean space, courteous staff and charming space-themed decor, all add up to our favorite St. Louis hotel.
Review 18:Bed is so soft that bended as hammock - it`s impossible sleep on a stomach. Little costly
Review 19:Design, staff, comfort are great. It`s pity I spent only one night. For party lovers it is a good place - roof has a bar
Review 20:The staff were very welcoming and made check in and check out a breeze. The hotel was very secure and within walking distance of restaurants and shops of the up and coming loop!
Review 21:I loved everything about my stay here. I appreciated the green alternatives they used, such as solar panels, recycling in the room, etc. Pets were very welcome. Aside from that, this is just a beautiful modern place in the city. Centrally located on the delmar loop with lots of great shopping and food. We had the best views of the strip. The rooftop area was a great hangout place. It was a great place to spend our anniversary.
Review 22:Nothing I could point out. The best hotel we stayed in during our 4200 miles road trip.
Review 23:Wonderful - boutique hotel design + top notch service quality as in the best hotel chains. Great attention to details (design, comfort). Outstanding staff. Tasty breakfast in the restaurant downstairs and awesome rooftop drink bar. Looks better than in the pictures. Located in the loop - close to the ZOO and legendary Blueberry Bar. Not far from downtown + arch. Safe, free parking.
Review 24:You have to call a cab (and St Louis doesnt have a lot of Uber drivers, only black car). Be sure not to take a room on the 2nd floor right over the drive-through, it can be a little noisy but not unbearable.
Review 25:There is a good selection of places to eat within walking distance. The Moonrise rooms are large, always clean and pretty normal overall. The immediate area feels safe, even though I think that they locals have some reservations about the area.
Review 26:Roof bar was a bit cheesy; it was one of the reasons we picked this hotel but we only could handle about 30 seconds of the live music that night. Would still stay again though!
Review 27:Amazing neighborhood, great service, comfy beds, stylish decor.
Review 28:The refridgerator made a high pitch squeal all night long. The hotel is nice but I do believe it is overpriced.
Review 29:The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff was nice.
Review 30:There are so many things that we loved about this hotel. The staff was friendly and always had a midday complimentary cocktail. I loved the lunar theme from the moon pictures in the lobby to the moon pictures in the hotel room. The bed was very comfortable. What makes this hotel unique would have to be the Rooftop Terrace Bar - great atmosphere, service, decor! This is my favorite hotel that I've stayed in and would definitely stay here again!
Review 31:Everything was great, I just didn't realize when I paid cash for my stay upon checkout that it would take more than a couple of days for charges to be returned to my account. Very inconvenient and if I had known, I wouldn't have paid cash!!
Review 32:Just a funky, cool place. Staff was young and sharp and didn't try to hard for 'hip'. Room service for breakfast was awesome...homemade cinnamon rolls. Rooftop bar was fun.
Review 33:This is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at. The guests all seem to be drunk and walking the halls shouting and laughing at all hours. The maids bang everything they can as they work. Incredibly noisy and we were there to catch up on rest. Never again.
Review 34:The location, staff and facilities were wonderful.
Review 35:This is my favorite spot! Absolutely perfect...especially since its right next door to our favorite venue! We went for the Tesla concert and had an exceptional experience!!
Review 36:I have stayed at the moon rise for over three years now. Every time I go I have the best customer service I have ever experienced from my hotel. This isn't just a hotel this is like a home away from home. Herman and Crystal are two of my favorite employees. They recognize my husband and I every time we come back and are more than willing to treat us like family with their amazing sense of customer service. I could never stay anywhere else in St. Louis. The Moonrise is like my second home. THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING THE BEST SERVICE IN St. Louis. Herman works valet and is the best. Crystal is the most wonderful front desk representative and will make you feel more than welcome. Thank you for making our memories unforgettable.
Review 37:It seemed loud at night inside the hotel. I was woken up quite a few times, like the walls are too thin and the hallway echos.
Review 38:Unique style, great location, right on the loop, and next to The Pageant. Good food and drinks from restaurant and bar. The staff was always very friendly. Nice big bed and large bathroom. I would recommend staying there.
Review 39:The space memorabilia is charming as opposed to cheesy. Something different to see around every corner. Also loved the personal products (shampoo, lotion, etc.)
Review 40:Front desk didn't have cab as requested. Unfamiliar w St Louis forced to drive and 18 minutes late for appt. no excuse for this poor service or mistake in my Mind.
Review 41:Best hotel we've been to in a long time. Every staff member we encountered there was so helpful and friendly, and the hotel was beautiful! We saw a show at the Pageant and it couldn't have been more conveniently located. Room service breakfast in bed was perfection! We'll definitely be back!
Review 42:Poor acoustics in room. Poor soundproofing. Could hear everything going on in the hallways from the room. Noisy.
Review 43:Beautiful room. Very clean. Unique decor.
Review 44:I , think parking should be , more secure . Electronic gate , with room key acess. I drive , a high end . Auto.
Review 45:I . Really like, the room size, the decor, & the use of minimal furniture. Great . Modern room.
Review 46:I didnt like that I couldnt stay longer :)
Review 47:The location is perfect, the ambiance is stellar, the room service was quick and delicious. I slept wonderful and I highly suggest upgrading for a Jacuzzi room :)
Review 48:nothing!
Review 49:The experience was fabulous! The mood was exciting, happening, hip. The staff, decor and feel was electric and the food was exceptional at the Eclipse Restaurant. Our 9 year old son loved the view from the rooftop as did we. It was fun to be part of the loop scene.
Review 50:Very convenient to catch a show next door at the pageant. Nothing to complain about, nice botique hotel, great staff, nice bar. It is pricey, but convenience is great.
Review 51:Coffee maker was hard to fill w/o spilling water & make only one cup at a time. The coffee wa good however.
Review 52:The hotel staff, bath facilities, especially shower, comfort of bed, security, amenities everything from iPod dock & high quality radio to bathroom products.
Review 53:There wasn't anything to not like.
Review 54:It was close to the Pageant Theater, restaurants, bars, and shops. The hotel was secure and trendy and very clean. We didn't have to worry about parking. It was a very relaxing atmosphere.
Review 55:Thought the street was over rated Needs more speciality shops Eg designer clothes -to keep the patrons in the area
Review 56:The rooms were great and the staff were really helpful
Review 57:Great place to stay!!! I love the modern decor. The hotel is very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooftop bar was so fun! I would definitely recommend staying here if you're coming to St. Louis!
Review 58:Bathroom very poorly lit. Air conditioner sounded like someone breathing heavy. Always seemed to be a housekeeping cart and/or dishes in hall from room service when we came and went from our room.
Review 59:Honestly, the hotel was just average but the pricetag high. We stayed in Springfield, IL the night prior and paid half the price for twice the hotel. I know locations count, but I do not see where value was. Decor very cute.
Review 60:I loved the warm welcome, and extra well thought out extras in the room. We had two rooms for three nights and were very impressed with the service and spacious suites. Great location.
Review 61:The room rates were nearly doubled for the holiday but we felt it was worth it for one night of great fun!
Review 62:We had a great dinner at the eclipse restaurant before going to the rooftop bar to watch fireworks on July Fourth - spectacular!! We live in St Louis and love being at the moonrise hotel!
Review 63:Loved the decor and nontraditional feel. Rooms were impeccably appointed and staff was terrific. The lighting was quirky and elegant at the same time. Terrific location near wonderful restaurants and walking distance to Wash U.
Review 64:Noisy, thin walls.... If quietness is important to you, I would suggest requesting a room either on or below the 6th floor. There is a rooftop bar on the 8th floor that can be noisy.
Review 65:Rooms are clean, large bathrooms, excellent location, good free wifi
Review 66:In all of my travels, I've never experienced such a wonderful staff!!
Review 67:Nothing
